Blaca Hermitage

Mentioned on
Memorial
Sights & Landmarks
Historic Sites
Blaca Hermitage is a remote monastery from the 16th century nestled into a mountainside. It was built by priests and their servants who sought refuge from the Ottoman Turks in 1551. Visitors can take a 30-minute tour of the complex, which includes original furniture, tools, and rare manuscripts on display at an on-site historical museum. However, be prepared for a challenging hike as it's not easily accessible.
Wonderful experience and an inspiring story. PERSEVERANCE through hardship and againt many odds. The guides are well rounded in knowledge and are like a time capsule that takes you back in that time. A must see

I'd love to give this an amazing review but after a long journey by road (DO NOT FOLLOW GOOGLE MAPS) and by foot (about 30 minutes downhill and 45 back up), we got to the entrance but the doors were closed and it would seem that you could not enter without waiting for a guide. The actual trail down to the site is lovely and it is magnificent to see a building in such a remote location... however, I'd have liked to have gone inside but instead we waited for 20 minutes and left without doing so.
David Moore — Google review
The hike there and back is very nice. The views from the hermitage are lovely. We never got to see the inside as the tour guide was done for the day. Overall, it's a nice experience to see once. Also - definitely drive all the way down the first road to the designated parking area. I don't recommend walking from the main road, you'll be walking for ages.

Blaca Monastery, also known as Pustinja Blaca, is a historical and cultural monument located on the southern coast of Brač Island in Croatia. You need a car to get to the starting oint, an d then 30-minutes walk in low forest to get to the magnificent scene. You can visit the interior with the guide that can discliose all secrets.
Šafarek Film — Google review
An interesting part of Brac's history. Be prepared for a good hike, back up is more than a stroll. Not all of the tours are in English, we were lucky the Croatian family we were with translated. A beautiful walk and great views.
jo Campbell — Google review
Fantastic experience and absolutely recommended. The dirt road is about 4.5km and is rough in spots. You reach a wooded parking lot where you start by foot about 30 minutes down a moderately difficult trail. The guide we had was funny but super informative about the Monastery. Museum inside is absolutely worth seeing. We took a longer more strenuous hike out the other side of the canyon with great views back to the monastery. This route out was a solid 45-60 minutes at a decent pace.
Michael OBrien — Google review
Not much to see for the trouble getting there. Bad road to the parking lot, then 45 minutes walk (more in return)
Robert Kova?i? — Google review
Fantastic and unique place with interesting history. There's a guide to know sth about this place. Be repare that the road is not so easy, especially on the return way 😉. Please wear comfortable shoes!
Alicja J — Google review
Wonderful place with an awesome exhibition. Be aware as photos are not allowed inside. You can hike from a parking place about 2.5 km away. The drive to that parking space is a bit tricky as the street is not good.
Michael Päßler — Google review
Depending which route you take in, you could miss seeing the front of the monastery. We took the route most people were taking, marked with spray paint near to the entrance of the car park, and it leads directly underneath. We were interested in seeing the front of the hermitage and not so much the tour, and took maybe a 5 minute detour to just walk across to the trails on the other side of the hill for full beautiful views of the entire thing. Not a difficult hike and we found it beautiful throughout!
Emily Livingston — Google review
A truly unique experience. HOWEVER - the monastary is definitely not open on ANY Monday!! We read reviews that only the museum was closed on Mondays - but nope - the whole thing is closed, year round, just on Mondays. Regardless the trip in was a total adventure - it was awesome. We rented a quad bike (definitely get a quad bike, we saw many cars being forced to turn around on the dirt road in). It was fun and exhilarating. The actual hike was moderate - 1.8km by my Garmin watch each way from the carpark to the monastery. We read a lot of complaining reviews about the hike - whilst it was uphill on the way back, if you have a base level of fitness and wear appropriate shoes you will find it a good walk. We did each way in 25mins (not sure who these people were saying it took 45-60mins each way 😅) Once in a lifetime experience to see and do something different and enjoy being outdoors at the same time 😁 GO - you'll love it!
Hayley Trebilco — Google review
Definitely worth visiting! 30 minutes hiking (mostly downhill) to the place and a bit more on the way back. Have a good sneakers and plenty of water. You can buy a bottle of water at the monastery for 30 kn. There is no toilet at the monastery.
Yelena — Google review
After 5kms by car (on a rocky, narrow road), you have to walk around 2,5km also in a rocky road until tou get to the monastery. It’s a beautiful place to visit. It costs 40kn to go inside for adults and 14kn for children under 14. It’s really beautiful. You can also go there by another road - you can go by boat and climb. No matter which way you choose, it takes around 30 min each way to get to the monastery that it’s amazingly well conserved. The monastery it’s opened every day from 9.00 till 17.00. They close 30 minutes from 13.30-14.00.
Iris Carvalho — Google review
I really enjoyed my time at this monastery. It's an interesting place with an even more fascinating history. The short hike from the upper parking lot to the monastery was easy. I highly recommend visiting this place.

Golden Horn Beach

Sights & Landmarks
Historic Walking Areas
The famous Golden Horn Beach in Croatia is a popular destination for windsurfing and boating enthusiasts. The 400-meter-long white sand spit stretches into the clear blue sea and is adorned with smooth pebbles. Despite its constant crowds, the beach boasts picturesque scenery with pine trees providing shade and rocky cliffs rising behind it. A small nudist section lies west of the cape, making it an ideal spot for all kinds of beachgoers.
Beautiful and much nicer in April-May or early autumn than in summer holiday season, when is too crowded. For the beach not 5, but 10 stars. For the summer crowds - zero stars.
Durdica Zaric — Google review
Very clean and clear water beach. Little salty water but not much to get skin very sticky. There is no sand, instead entire beach consists of tiny pebbles. Good for swimming. Suitable for kids. Car parking is nearby with shade and fee for 20kuna per hour. Toilets available for fee. ATM, some small eatery available.
Anitha N — Google review
Interesting place with unique beach that changes its shape from time to time. If you prefer a quiet beach, this is not for you. Too many people, loud music. Place looks nice from a distance. Thr most expensive parking lot right next to the beach, 20 minutes by walk - it's cheaper.
Alicja J — Google review
The beach is great with multiple spots where you can relax under the shade. The water is very clean! There are many options for food and snacks. The train to get here costs 4€ per person.

Absolutely stunning beach! Words are hard to describe the place! Great views all around and plenty of stalls offering food and drinks..

Awesome beach , mesmerising beach. It’s situated in Brac island of Croatia. Must visit, although during this April month, the water was cold but little bit sunny which balances the things. It’s really is very beautiful and also it’s in horn shape so people visits this beautiful place to have a mesmerising view and awesome scenic beautiful surroundings.
Naina Gupta — Google review
Nicest beach in Croatia. I have enjoyed nice view of sunset from it. It's pebble beach but the stones aren't big so you can go without swimming shoes. I love that the beach wasn't so commercialized with too many restaurants in it. So it has some peace. And it's very wide and big. So you can find a place with no crowd.
Z Baghestani — Google review
Beach is nice, water is super but just remember to bring your own food and drinks, as the price level of beach bars is just idiotic. 0,5l tap beer 6€, so-so pizzas and burgers around 10€, cocktails from 10€ upwards and so on. Beach chair 12€, 2 with umbrella 36€ and cushioned double chairs 40€.
air toe — Google review
I had many expectations of this beach, beautiful but not great. The water is clear and clean but not as impressive as other places I've seen. There are many lounge bars and places to eat street food, two quality restaurants. I recommend getting a sofa in a lounge bar and staying there all day rather than paying 36 euros for two sunbeds and a sun umbrella, have a drink and enjoy the whole day.

For two summers, we vacationed on Bok and swam on this beautiful and very famous beach. Very nice memories. The beach is pebbly. The tongue that extends into the sea has a beautiful beach and swimming here is excellent. But there is a lot of wind and no shade.
Bogdan Marcelan — Google review
Often called the most beautiful beach in Croatia, if not in Europe, this jewel of the Adriatic Sea, justifiably deserves this title. The unique shape of the beach created by the sea every day gives the beach a new look. Beautiful transparent sea, sun and pine trees and the shade of them, are all you need for a perfect day at the beach. A beach that must be visited for life.
Pavle Isailovi? — Google review
Lovely beach with crystal clear water, fishes, infrastructure and great views! The cost of 2 sun beds and umbrella was 240 hrs in the first week of September 2022. Definitely recommend to take a walk from Bol, as on your way you can enjoy some beautiful views.
???? ????????? — Google review
Dont waste your time and money on this beach. 37 euro for 2 beds and a umbrella, 20 euro for parking. Overcrowded and commercialized. Nothing to see when swimming. There are many more beautiful beaches to explore.

You can exhale- you found your perfect happy place Amazing beach with the clearest and most inviting water with the most perfect color blue Visually stunning with plenty of shade provided by the trees Excellent choice of well priced healthy food and bars for R&R Super clean, no litter, no annoying beach vendors looking to sell you junk, everyone is respectful of the environment and clean public bathrooms swim for hours or snooze the day away It really can’t get better than this You have found you perfect beach

This beach is perfect and the city is so charming, would come back there one million times. You have everything thing you need there, showers, toilets, bars, street food and even bicycle parking. Our accommodation offers bikes for free to the guests so we took advantage of it and went there cycling. The way to the beach is so lovely. Bol is amazing, we are in love with this place.
Priscila Veiga — Google review
Located 5 mins from the parking lot. Nice beach but no sand as some others wrote, small pebbles only. At the tip there is a strong current and water is deep but there is a roped off section where the water is calmer and shallow suitable for children. You need to pay to use bathrooms and showers. It is possible to walk along the coast and swim in other less crowded areas.
Adam Menendez — Google review
Zlatni rat is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean with a pine forest and crystal clear sea. But when you step on the beach the impression changes quickly because you will feel like you are in an anthill and when you enter the sea I was like in a fish pond. The crowd was great even though it was September. You will surely empty your pockets on the beach because everything is paid for and prices are high. Sunbeds cost €12 each and a parasol costs an additional €12. There are even three points for water sports, the offer is rich, the prices are uniform and high. Aqua park costs €15 per person for 30 minutes. The offer of fast food is also rich, the cheapest food is a small slice of pizza that costs €5. There is only one toilet on the entire beach and the only shower is located in the same place. Using the toilet costs €1, taking a shower costs €2.50, and if you need a towel to wipe yourself after showering, it's another €1. There is a queue to use the toilet and shower. There are also several beach bars with pleasant music, but they are expensive. The pine forest on the very beach where I used to be able to lie is now mostly filled with fast food kiosks and beach bars. It is recommended that you take everything you can with you, water and other drinks, sandwiches, and a parasol is recommended. The beach, or the return to the city, can be reached by boat, which costs €4 per person in each direction. The same service is offered by little tourist train with the same price of €4 per person in each direction.

First time to Brač island. Bol looks very nice and clean. Great walk by the beach shore. Nice cocktail bars, ice cream and stands with local stuff along the way. We came here in September and because the high season just ended, there's not many people around. But the sea water is still warm and good for swimming. Water is very clean and clear. You can basically see the sea bed very clearly and deep. Overall a pleasant site. Would recommend to visit it and enjoy your vacation.

Stunning beach, rightly one of the best in the med area. It's stony but don't let that put you off. Some cool bars and cafes alongside, in the pines...this place is so cool

Nice place, the wind is always blowing. One side therefore is with big waves the other is calm. Lot of food stands and restaurants. Playgrounds for kids in water and on the beach. Ideal for surfing and kitesurf. Restricted and watched areas by lifeguards. You have to pay for the toilet, shower and parking.
Ákos Kozák — Google review
It’s one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen. The water even at 30ft is crystal clear with colorful fish swimming all around the sea grass. Water is refreshing, plenty of places for snacks and drinks, water activities and more.

Vidova gora

Nature & Parks
Mountains
Vidova Gora, the highest point on the Adriatic Islands at 778m, offers breathtaking views of Hvar island as well as Vis and the mountains of Peljesac Peninsula and Biokovo. The peak can be accessed either by a sealed road through a pine forest or by hiking/biking from Bol. While it may require some physical exertion to reach its summit, the stunning landscapes make it worth an effort in both cases.
If you go to the island of Brac, visiting Vidova Gora is a must. The road leading there is charming in itself, but the view from the summit is particularly breathtaking. Just imagine: hundreds of meters below you. Below your feet lies Bol and Zlatni Rat, with the unique sight of the island of Hvar in the background. If you enjoy driving, the serpentine road starting from Nerezisca is especially enjoyable. Along the way, there is a parking lot and a junction leading to the Blaca Monastery. If you plan to descend, especially with children, bring water and food with you!
Zoltan Rozgonyi — Google review
One of the main reasons we chose to visit Brač was to spend the good part of a day climbing Vidova Gora. It’s the highest point in the Adriatic and while it’s only 2,552 ft. Its 2,599 ft. prominence (height relative to the rest of the terrain) affords some remarkable views of Zlatni Rat, Bol, Hvar, and so much of the Adriatic Sea. We hiked directly from our hotel (Lifestyle Vitar) to the top and back for a 6.5 mile loop. We’re both pretty seasoned hikers but this definitely wasn’t the simplest of vacation hikes. Totally doable but bring a decent bit of water for the summer months and wear sturdy footwear/take your time coming down as there’s a lot of loose gravel. Really beautiful views from halfway up and you’re hiking along with pasture goats which was a unique experience. If you’re not into the hike, you’re able to drive up decently close to the summit and walk from there. Picnic tables at the top to enjoy a meal and take a breather. Highly recommended and one of our favorite parts of our trip to Croatia.

An absolute must while on the island. When you get to where it tells you that you have arrived, you can park and get photos, walk, and get a drink/snack. You can also continue to drive up or walk to other viewing points and so worth the visit. Its incredible
Eleanor Dwyer — Google review
One of the most beautiful places on the Dalmatian coast: the views are simply stunning, as you get to grasp Bol, all the Dalmatian islands from the Bays of Hvar to Korcula, Peljesac, Vis, Bisevo, Lastovo and even Mljet on a clear day while also having the background of the Biokovo mountains to the East. They say that you can see Italy on a very clear day but coming there every year for 30 years I havent been able to do so, so maybe this is more of a myth. Hints: While the view from the parking grounds are stunning in itself it is worth walking up a few minutes to the antenna station as you get views to Vis and the Western part of Hvar as well. The walk from Bol is fine on a cool day but you might feel frustrated when you arrive at a parking lot after walking for hours. Go on a clear day! The best days are when a little Bora wind is blowing and clearing up the haze. On hazy days you might just be able to see Bol and parts of Hvar. Go in the early morning or evening for nice lighting. The restaurant on top has been closed for a while but as of September 2019 there is a friendly little kiosk with drinks at the parking lot. The road from the main road is quite narrow but there is ample space to evade crossing cars. It is easily doable for every type of car. Just dont drive too fast and enjoy the beautiful forrest all around.
Andrej Lukic — Google review
Amazing views! Place for connecting with Nature. There is small cafe with coffe, water, icecream. You can pay by card.
Irina Säde — Google review
The pace is gorgeous. It has beautiful flora, huge forest and it is the highest point on Brač and even the highest point among Croatian islands. You must visit the place and enjoy the peace and beauty of this magnificant nature. At the top the site is beautiful and magnificant. It has a wide view to the see and the islands. See you there.
Electroax Master — Google review
We had a nice cycling-trip from pastura to the top of the mountain and enjoyed the beautiful landscapes and the impressive view very much...even it was hard to "climb the peak using a bicycle and just our "own" power...
Matthias Fichtner — Google review
This peak was one of the major reasons why we choose to take the car with the ferry, as it is quite a long and steep drive to the peak. We saw people cycling, but surely they were suffering a lot. The views are phenomenal, and you can clearly see Bol from here and its insanely clean water. There is a shop where you can buy ice cream or drinks from. Definitely include this when in Brac!
Stephen — Google review
Absolutely amazing, a must-see when on Brač. Beautiful views of the mainland, Hvar Island, and of course, the Bol's famous beach The Golden Horn...
KK — Google review
The views during the climb up were beautiful, but my arachnophobia did not allow me to continue the way up and we had to go back. I do not recommend a trip in the early evening when the spiders are active. I knew they would be somewhere, but I didn't expect to have a two-meter web with a huge spider above my head. I think these views would frighten even the fearless.

Great beach. One of the best water experiences on the island. Greta colours, temperature and views. Slightly ruined by the water playground for kids, who seemed to have better fun in the water. The playground is not a good idea for younger ones, so it made even less sense in general. The beach features a little bar that lacks beer in busier days, but it's pretty nice anyway.

Water 10/10 View 8/10 Beach 5/10 Infrastructure 1/10 Absolutely clear water and beautiful scenery. Beach itself is a small stone beach and not that comfortable but parking is quite close and free (but the parking spaces are very limited). While there is a small bar, there is no infrastructure like toilets or showers at the beach or anywhere in range

Pleasant beach. You can park cca 100m from there, easy to walk, but might be difficult if you have a baby buggy. Dont expect shadow, but waters are crystal clear and warmer than other beaches on Brač.
Rower 1998 — Google review
Beautiful and clean beach. But during high season there are too many paddle boats laying around the beach and in the water, which is very disturbing. This beach become a sporty beach which is kinda sad.
Mario Vida — Google review
Beautiful scenery, lovely beach and it has a shower which is a really good point. Only one thing is that the beach bar was sooo noisy the music was very loud, probably the bartender girl wanted to have fun and ruined the feeling a bit.
Livia Fekete — Google review
Very clean water and not very crowded which makes the beach perfect for relaxing and swimming. The only minus is that the whole beach is with rocks not with sand. It's a bit hard to be reached but it deserves. There is a beautiful view to the Croatian coast. You won't be dissapointed if you go there.

Had a great wine tasting experience. Highly recommended. Good selection of wines and drinks to try along with food. I took my own gluten-free bread along to try the olive oil. We, too , transfer from our complex to the venue. This was all arranged by Marko, which was really easy.

We spent an excellent 4 hours at this place wine tasting (I think that tells you how much we loved it!) and enjoying the quality food that accompanied it. Marko was the perfect host and we had some brilliant conversations over the time we were there, super interesting. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Brac!
SJ P — Google review
Wonderful experience that we would thoroughly recommend. Marko was incredibly friendly and welcoming and easy to talk to, we really felt we had an opportunity to better understand the island and life here. The place itself is beautiful and was built by the host. The grappa, wines, and food were all wonderful and it’s hard not to leave with some to take home! If you’ve even remotely considering it, drop them an email and arrange to go, you won’t regret it!
Hannis Whittam — Google review
Went here with some friends for wine testing, not really knowing what to expect. But we were positively surprised by the owner's hospitality and service. The wine was amazing, as well as the grappa. We also had some really nice cheese and other snacks to complement the wine, which made this a 10/10 experience.
Anton — Google review
Marko and his father are polite, the place looks nice enough and the tuna paste was very delicious. But the rest of the experience was very underwhelming. The grappa was mediocre at best and the bottles looked like they haven't been cleaned in a while. Rogačuša was the only one decent enough to enjoy. And the worst thing, the 3 wines provided, white, rose and red tasted very bland and cheap. We could have bought better tasting wine from a random shop for 20 euros total, instead of paying 250 euros for 10 people. The presentation was very short, maybe 1-2 minutes in total with very little detail. I can't understand for the life of me how did this place got so many good reviews. The owners really seem to be good and decent people. I hope they decide to improve the experience in the future. I would not recommend this experience to anyone in the current form.
Sergiu Neagu — Google review
I have a lot of wine tastings under my belt living near Napa, and this tasting was truly unique. I got to try five delicious, different grappas (including flavors like carob and walnut!), four different wines, and a dessert wine. The rosé was my personal favorite, with a fruity, juicy flavor I've never experienced in other rosés. I bought my favorite grappa, the herbal (rosemary and sage), and the grand total including the tasting came out to only 100 kn. That's unheard of where I'm from, where a tasting of such generosity would cost minimum $60. The ambiance was tranquil and rustic. Marko was very helpful and easy to coordinate with. I got to amble down the country roads after the tasting, drunk and happy as a clam. Highly recommend.
Lea Coligado — Google review
Miserable! I really can't understand the good reviews… I wouldn’t even give this one star! I recommend to look for another winery for wine tastings. We were there one afternoon and the owner's son, I think his name was Marco, was completely listless and disinterested. We didn’t feel welcomed but we sat down anyways because we drove one hour for this wine tasting and on the web page it looked fantastic. He then brought us three different wines and a bit of bread and olive oil - but on request and then disappeared into a little room and played with his cell phone all the time. He didn't explain or tell anything of his own accord. We sat there and felt like:… okay this is kinda creepy and strange and sipped on our glass. We finally decided not to stay longer as it was getting really uncomfortable for us and bought a bottle of wine as courtesy for 80kn!!?. I have never seen such poor quality anywhere before… for this price you usually get really good quality of wine in other wineries (I strongly recommend Stina winery in Bol)! There were larger particles and hair floating around in the bottle (see pictures) - disgusting!! I wouldn’t even dare to give it away as a present. I know, there’s lo label on the bottle so no proof that’s from there but Marco said the white wines have not yet been labeled… maybe due to the poor quality.

Local father and son business, both very friendly. The place was very nice and cosy with about free parking places and multiple more parking areas nearby by the roadside. €20 for wine and cheese tasting. Marko (the younger one) presenter us with 5 different Croatia Grappa, 4 wines, local cheese and local olive oil/tuna dips. Everything was very nice. The cat (who doesn't have a name) was also very friendly and slept by our side. Highly recommend.

Mali Raj Restaurant is one of the top dining spots on Brac Island, Croatia. It offers a perfect blend of great scenery, delicious food, and excellent service. The restaurant is known for its fantastic carpaccio of beef and octopus, as well as mouthwatering lamb chops. With a short season in Bol, Mali Raj stands out as a must-visit place outside of July and August.
🏝Great restaurant next to the beach! 🤷🏻‍♂️Unfortunately, there was no octopus anymore when I asked for it. I went for the tuna steak and it was great! I had fried as a separate side dish. 🍛My wife had the vegetable risotto and a salad. In total, we habe ordered too much food, as we thought the risotto would be only a smaller appetizer plate. 🍷Beautiful garden/terrace, very nice service and good cocktails.

Lovely and intimate restaurant steps away from Zlatni Rat. We were seated in a cute little patio in a beautiful courtyard filled with plants and olive trees. Every books and crannies were filled with charming decor. We ordered the fish plate for 2, but for 3 people and it was perfect. Of course you can have a side dish, but we suggest waiting after you’ve received the plate cause for us it was enough and I eat a lot haha! One of us ordered the fish soup and it was divine. The best part to top this beautiful experience was Jole, the tiny little kitten that roams around the place 💕

Nice restaurant with a cozy set-up close to Zlatni Rat beach. It’s mainly a seafood restaurant, and the staff brings catch of the day in a plate before you order in case you want something from there. Ordered a fish from there and it was absolutely fresh and delicious. But, I did not like gnochhi with prawns, it just tasted like flour balls and nothing else. Drinks were pretty basic, could have been better. Prices are comparatively higher than others in the area.

This place have beautiful terrace and specialized menu. But everything is overpiced, this is tourist trap with prices of fine dining place and no quality of fine dining. Apetizers are great but service is amateurish with lot of mistakes (no plate fot fish bones, no napkins for cleaning hands after fish) . Main course was so and so. Too much money for average place with great terrace.

Mali Raj was my best restaurant experience on Brač! The food were great and made with love. Really good prices. The atmosphere were great and the restaurant is beautiful and harmonic. I sat under the olive trees that they made there own delicious olive oil from. I also got a free snaps! The waiter was professional and charming! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Fresh breath of dining experience in Bol. In one word amazing. Service is excellent. Personal, and taking their time to explain you the dishes and portion size. What stood out is that the waiter asks if you are ready for the next round. We like to enjoy more time between courses so we indicated we'd like 20 mins between courses. Not a problem! Brilliant. The food was delicious, no discussion. Well prepared and properly presented, you can taste the quality. Portion size is good, some of the warm starters are actually main courses, as explained by our waiter. Location: Mali Raj is located just outside the main tourist routes, but completely makes up with their quality of food, excellent service, and romantic setting. We felt appreciated as guests, were served excellent food at a pace we had influence on, and enjoyed a beautiful environment throughout it all. There is an option to have an even more private table in the beautiful garden, at a small extra cost. I cannot stress enough to visit Mali Raj, you will not regret it. Tip: check the macaroni with beef tenderloin in truffle sauce, it's delicious!!

Probably the best restaurant we went to in Croatia. Delicious food and the garden is such a nice, relaxing place to be. I would really recommend going here and spending just a few euros more for the experience.

Konoba Kopačina is a beloved restaurant on the island of Brac, known for being one of the few open year-round. Nestled inland, its terrace provides stunning views of lush green hills. The highlight of their menu is the various preparations of Brac lamb, a must-try. This spot in Donji Humac is renowned for its lamb dishes and offers the opportunity to savor vitalac, a traditional dish made from lamb offal.
I suspect this is the best restaurant in Dalmatia. The menu includes vegan items as well as non-alcoholic beer. Delicious cassarece with grilled vegetables. For an appetizer we got fresh, warm Croatian bread - finger licking good. The service was very nice, you can easily communicate in English. We will definitely come back here more than once 🥬

We came here based on recommendation from locals and based on Google reviews. It was delicious! We had juicy rumpsteak, delicious lamb meat and even the fries, such a basic side dish, was really good and I guess homemade 😍 The staff is really nice, especially waitress Nera ☺️ We definitely come back 😊 Hvala!

Best lamb ever, sweet and salty. We ate cream mushroom soup, than lamb on a stick for two, baking potatoes on a side, and afterwards we had lava cake. My advice is to try the lamb if you come here, you won’t regret it! Service is on top! 5/5!

Been coming here for years. Steak tartar perfect as always. Best french fries ever. This place is best known for their lamb and grilled fish. We will come back every year.

Best restaurant in Brač! We ate the slow cooked lamb and it was delicious. They also have a nice house wine. Very affordable prices and big portions! Special dishes must be ordered in advance (for example Vitalac) and a reservation is definitely recommendable.

We've been here for a third consecutive year. Food is great and there's PLENTY. Order less sides for the whole table. Seriously, the portions are enormous. Never order a platter for 2 just for 2 people. Especially if you get cought up in the bread. the servers are great and speak good English. Prices are not low but reasonable considering the inflation. Always make reservations in advance.even off season

We had a fantastic meal, our family enjoyed three mixed lamb platters,I had the best bit of steak in ages&the dishes were polished off.The waiter was brisk, efficient yet charming. The location in the hills was perfect.

Konoba Kopačina was recomended by 2 different taxi drivers, so we knew this was the place to go. The food was amazing! Try the lamb chops, you won't regret it. Our special thanks go to Michael, the most kind waiter I have met in years. He made our evening extra special and a true experience with the Croatian cuisin.

First of all, the waiter was super friendly! We ordered the mixed grilled meats with mushroom risotto and vegetables. It was a huge plate and we were satisfied but the waiter suggested some deserts and the Lava Cake was wonderful. We loved the suggestion!

One of best places in the island. The octopus peka was excellent. The meat platter was also good. Portions are big. Service was very good.

Superb experience! Mostly because we had an excellent server. Mihael is professional waiter (he went to school for it) and you can immediately feel the difference! Friendly, professional and attentive! Mihael gets 10 stars. The food that we had was amazing. You have to try it, I highly recommend! And give something to the cats, they are really skinny.

Locals restaurant good food. Only thing that let it down was they had run out of lamb ribs and steak so we had the bits of lamb which was very boney and fatty. Shame. But other meals in our part were very good _ liver, risotto.

This restaurant is famous for the lamb. In fact, it has the best lamb dish I have tried so far in Croatia. If you come here and only order one dish, try chef special - baby lamb slow cooked 18 hours, finished on a grill, with grilled vegetables and potatoes. It is cooked to perfection, and you can thank me later for that.

Restaurant is locally famous for it’s lamb and indeed, the quality of preparation is very good and the meat tastes amazing (although I’d add a bit more seasoning, but it’s a matter of taste). The other dishes, including desserts were also solid. However, despite the good quality, the wow effect was missing somehow - therefore four and not five stars.

Taverna Riva is a renowned restaurant located in the heart of Bol, on the island of Brac in Croatia. It offers a delightful blend of traditional and modern cuisine. The restaurant's marble terrace on the waterfront provides stunning views of Bol, the Adriatic Sea, and the island of Hvar.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Bol. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Still and all my personal favorite - scampi in wine sauce. Servers are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Taverna Riva. As well sea view is MAGNIFICENT ! Just keep it going, you made my stay in Croatia.

We had a very nice late lunch here as a family! Our table was outside right at the balustrade overlooking the promenade and the water, so we could watch all the boats passing by while eating. We had the house wine, different cold and warm appetizers, Dalmatian rabbit, fried calamari, gnocchi, lamb, salads, and can recommend everything! Service was also very friendly and attentive. Some dishes are a bit pricey, but all in all it's worth it because it tastes great and you can sit overlooking the ocean and port.
Laura K?rting — Google review
The waiters take an extra long time to bring the change. It's a scam to get the customers to get up and leave so that the waiters can keep the rest of the money! It is best to tip appropriately and not with a larger euro bill. We often went to the store and always left good change until we noticed that if you leave a larger bill, the waiter doesn't show up.

Definitely a place to recommend. Selection of local dishes with very good taste and quality. Great octopus salad, superb "black risotto", very good fish soup, perfect grilled fish (that one can pick from a plate showed by staff). Everything you try is better than Ok. It's a bit expensive , but what else would you expect in Bol

One of the few restaurants still open on the island of Bol, located right in front of the marina. Make reservations and enjoy the delicious food, menu offers all kinds of choices but we went for the seafood. Had the shrimp scampi alla busara with tagliatelle pasta and it was amazing. One of the best pasta dishes I have had in my life. The service was on point. Wine, beer, cocktails available. Indoor and outdoor dining available. Clean bathrooms. You must try this place if you are in Bol, it will not disappoint.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Nono Ban in Brač, Croatia, and our experience was nothing short of exceptional. The cleanliness of the rooms was remarkable, with hardly a stain in sight, reflecting the hotel's commitment to maintaining a pristine environment. The hotel's employees are truly fantastic; their warmth and efficiency added a personal touch to our stay, making us feel welcome and well-cared-for throughout. One of the standout features was the restaurant's culinary offerings. The food was not only a gastronomic delight but also some of the best we tasted on the entire island of Brač. We wholeheartedly recommend indulging in the delicious dishes offered by the talented kitchen staff. While the beach is a short 20-minute drive away, the allure of the hotel's pools and jacuzzis cannot be overstated. The serene and gorgeous ambiance of these facilities made the distance to the beach inconsequential – a true oasis of relaxation. In conclusion, as German tourists from Munich, we can confidently assert that Hotel Nono Ban is a top-tier choice on Brač. We highly recommend this hotel to fellow travelers, as our experience here was nothing short of outstanding. In our opinion, there's hardly a better hotel on the island. I hope to comeback as soon as possible! Kind regards, Fernando

Restaurant was disappointing. We had a group of 8 and almost everyone complained about the quality of the cooked meat. All of us did not complete our meals and were disappointed there was little seasoning, over or under cooked meet, no proper side dishes. The settinh was fine but no music or ambiance, bit dead.

We held our wedding at Nono Ban this year and we were made to feel truly special. It's a magical venue for a party and nicely removed from the summer hustle and bustle of Bol, while still being within easy reach of the beaches. The rooms had a lovely makeover since we first visited, so we had fresh new rooms for our guests. The staff were bloody lovely and really went out of their way to help. The food for our wedding reception was delicious and we had such a great time! Thank you guys and we will be back for future anniversaries.

Ranc Restaurant, situated on the Island of Brac in Croatia, is highly regarded for its exquisite culinary offerings. With a focus on seafood and meat dishes, this eatery has gained popularity among both locals and tourists. Renowned for its delectable peka dishes – a traditional Croatian method of cooking with meat or octopus – Ranc Restaurant offers an unforgettable dining experience. The restaurant's charming open-air seating area is surrounded by a picturesque kitchen garden teeming with fresh fruits and vegetables.
Great experience! Met with a "welcome drink" that is homemade and homemade bread with olive oil with garlic in it. Tasted delicious! Main dish was a meat plate that hade a noticable taste of "made on an open fire" and perfect seasoned meat. (I had eaten half the plate on the picture). We got a free dessert that tasted lovely! Highly recommend eating here!

Ranc Restaurant - we ordered the mixed fish and the seafood risotto. The setting is beautiful the stunning terrace is such a serene beautiful place. The food is on the pricier side and you don’t get better food for it in comparison to some other places but it is a lovely place for dinner.

Was recommended to come here by our apartment host. Excellent food! We ate the seafood risotto, sea bass and Ranc beefsteak. We particularly loved the risotto! The setting has a beautiful ambience, we went at night and it was lovely. We have seen it during the day too and it looks equally as lovely. Apparently one of the only places that stays open year round and is loved by locals too! As we have discovered through our trip in Bol, when you want to order food, drinks or the bill you must get the waiters attention. They will leave you to enjoy your meal instead of approaching you.

First time we came at 21.00 in low season the waiter prepared the table in advance for us. The food was of high quality. At the start one gets their home made bread and oil with garlic. The second time we went, we got an additional side dish for free and a delicious chocolate orange cake with a raspberry sauce as a surprise. The waiter prepared a water bowl for our dog. We recommend it.

As returning guests to Bol every summer, we would like to say that Ranc is just amazing. Such a friendly and welcoming place. The atmosphere in the beautiful garden as the sun sets is magic. The team provide friendly service and food to match for a total dining experience. Ranc is also a very good place for large groups and I recommend family style orders. Just fill the table and enjoy!! I really recommend the lamb or veal peka that you order in advance. The black risotto and seafood plate is also really great. Ranc serve honest and well prepared local food in generous portions. Love it.

Nice kind of hidden restaurant off the main strip. Got there slightly before dinner rush time and was able to get a table for two without a reservation. The service and food were impeccable and the prices were also good value. The red wine was very delicious. If we were staying in Bol longer, we would've gone back to try other dishes and the white wine.

Nice and local restaurant up bit off from the main area in Bol. This restaurant is a little bit hidden, in a cosy way. We hadn’t reserved a spot, but they were able to squeeze us in anyways. Our waitress was very sweet and kind. The food was also great. The shared fish/seafood platter was enough for three people.

⭐️ NICE MAINS, LOCAL SPOT ⭐️ mains between 💶 €20 - €30 💶 click ‘see more’ for more details ☑️ very friendly staff ☑️ sea food and meats where nice. Lamb was nice 👌 ☑️ very reasonable local wines, c.€5 a glass. ☑️ traditional cooking ☑️ fish especially good (mixed fish). Areas that where a bit ‘meh’ or could do with improvement: ✖️bread that was served to us was quiet stale - try harder please. ✖️whilst we didn’t have an issue, the ‘booking’ system is non existent. Wasn’t sure staff were writing down anything ✖️few tables are inside next to busy staff bar and toilets

Great atmosphere. Octopus salad was comparable to other places and pretty good. Walnut crepes were amaretto and tasted very alcoholic which wasn’t described in the menu.

It's a very cozy and nice restaurant. The personnel was polite and accomodating. We ordered a seafood plate and grilled calamari with fries and grilled vegetables. Everything was very tasty, well seasoned and we'll cooked. We were timely attended and the food came quite quickly. The place has a veranda and two cozy terraces. However, the wind can be very strong so in such days it can be better to seat inside. A small improvement point is the correct wine bottle opening and letting the guests try it before serving it. Great time overall!

We were lucky to live next to this great restaurant and to have had dinner there twice! The ambience is truly magical - it was wonderful to dine in such a pretty garden under fig and pomegranate trees! The food is excellent and with generous portions (we could hardly finish!). I also loved their rosé wine. The service is so attentive, warm-hearted and efficient. We were also treated with tasty house liquors at the end. It’s definitely worth visiting this off the beaten track restaurant!
