Initially part of the city's defense system was built in 1289 based on a design by Vecello da Cosighe. The Renaissance part overlooking the main square was added in 1553, while the roof in 1609. The ancient and massive wooden door found in the internal part together with various commemorative plaques is suggestive. The door is now named after Bishop Giorgio Doglioni and is somewhat suffocated by the adjacent buildings, including the municipal theatre. Awesome museo in Belluno city center. You can explore the 3 floors of the palazzo fulcis, understanding the basics of art and culture of Belluno. Palazzo fulcis is freshly renewed with elegant style, the price of the ticket is worth for the palace itself. The exhibitions are cute, and you can even play with some instagram filter on the sculpture (see the photos to understand more). I will def come back, maybe to dance in the hall, which I hope someone will rent for a party. If you haven’t booked a guide for the museum, no worries, you can have a free audio guide downloading the app: Sensi. Do it, pretty interesting what they say!

Pizzeria Ristorante La Bussola is a pleasant dining establishment known for its delectable cuisine and vibrant ambiance. While the service can be somewhat disorganized, their food, especially the mouthwatering Pizza Contessa, is exceptional. This particular pizza stands out due to its fresh ingredients and generous portion of delightful mozzarella cheese. Additionally, their pasta dishes are also quite enjoyable.

Nice restaurant with great food but a little chaotic service. We had pizza contessa which was lovely - fresh ingredients and fantastic and large mozzarella cheese. Also had pasta which was really nice too. Strangely, we got the pizza first and only after ~10min later they brought the pasta as well. We didn’t mind too much since we were sharing the food anyway, but it would be awkward otherwise if one person was eating already and the other just watching (or the first dish getting cold before they bring the second).

Bar
Bistro Bembo is an excellent establishment with delightful offerings. The service provided was satisfactory, and the waiter who attended to us was friendly, proficient in English, and attentive. The food served was delicious, particularly their delectable burgers that are definitely worth trying. If I happen to be in the area again in the future, I would certainly consider returning. It's worth mentioning that they also offer English-speaking staff, which is convenient for those who prefer not to learn Italian.
Really good, that's what I'd say, simple as that. Service was OK, the waiter that attended us was nice, good english and attentive. Food was tasty and the burger definitely is worth the visit. Definitely would repeat if I'm somewhere here in tbe future. Oh and by the way they do speak some English, which is really nice for us lazy people to learn Italian, hehe

La Trappola | Birreria e Spaghetteria is a fantastic spot conveniently located near the center of Belluno. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious food, including vegetarian options, at very reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and the service is quick, making it an ideal choice for lunch. The portions are generous and served in large pans, providing a unique dining experience.
I strongly believe it is the best place to eat in Belluno. Pasta is amazing here, deserts are great. Staff is extremely friendly and supportive. We were here more than once during our stay because it was really difficult to decide what to eat!
Paweł Berestecki — Google review
Was recommended this place by our host in Belluno and it was very disappointing. The menu was a QR code and it only worsened from there. I am confused by all these good reviews, possibly they got a new chef? We ordered a mixed salad and spaghetti allá carbonara and penne allá vodka. Salad was alright but not great. The pastas were some of the worst I’ve ever had, the carbonara was all scrambled eggs as it was served on a hot pan. Instead of traditional, thick, crispy, and chewy bits of guanciale there were large amounts of very thin speck which did not work with the dish. The vodka sauce was a similar situation, too much speck, too salty and honestly way too much pasta (enough to fill up the whole large pan) which is just wasteful. It was more than any person could eat in one sitting. And regarding ambiance, they played loud radio the whole time with the ads and everything. I apologize for being so harsh but it was a real disappointment especially for being in Italy, and I feel this restaurant has lost the way.
Powell Pricejones — Google review
Great place in a good location, close to the centre of Belluno. The food was amazing, many choices on the menu, also vegetarian ones. Food was delicious. Prices were very good as well. Staff was friendly and nice. We went there for lunch and didn't wait long for our food to arrive. Portions are quite big, you eat off the pan, but it makes it a great experience. I can definitely recommend this place for fresh pasta dishes!
Zuzanna Poskrobko — Google review
As a main course i had carbonara, it was the worst carbonara and pasta in generally i have ever eaten in a restaurant, it wasn't creamy at all, it was like pieces of egg with pasta and also not tasty. On the positive the quantity was pretty big but of course i couldn't manage to eat it. My partner had some seafood pasta, also not impressive, i would characterize it below average, much better than mine though. Also had some mellow with prosciutto, both mellow and prosciutto were pretty good

One of my favourite place in the world! And when i say “favourite”, i mean favourite!! Terracotta is a must-try restaurant that offers an irresistible cold spaghetti with raw fish. The two siblings in the kitchen provide exceptional food and the service is extremely welcoming. Their beef cheek dish is superb, boasting an incredible texture that is incredibly tender. Trattoria Col di Salce offers authentic and delicious Italian cuisine at affordable prices. Located in a quaint village, it may be easy to miss but is definitely worth the visit. The menu is displayed on a blackboard, with additional specials communicated in Italian. English, Spanish, or even Google Translate can help bridge any language barriers. Patrons have nothing but praise for the food, with highlights including delectable lamb and pasta dishes like octopus pasta. The mixed grill option is also recommended.
We had the best lunch of our entire Italy trip in this restaurant. The waitress was very friendly and the service was great. The food was as good as it gets, the portion-size was maybe a bit small but a very, very fair price to make up for it! Desserts also definitely worth it! Will visit again for sure

Honest good Italian food for a normal price. Tucked away in a small village Col di Salce you easily miss it from the main road, but it is definitely worth while. There is a written daily menu on a blackboard and then there are the specials, spoken to you in Italian only. :-). I could manage with spanish, english and some google translate though. I did not have a single complaint about the food. The lamb was delicious, pasta with octopus was great, and mixed grill is fine too. The deserts are excellent, particularly the tiramisu and the sbriciolata (a sort of crumble cake). Very friendly people. Do bring some anti-mosquito spray with you (which is a good advice for the entire Belluno region by the way) to save your bare legs while eating.

I think it's family run but the food is excellent, I in particular chose a cut that I found to be really delicious, cooked just right and above all very tender, which I never expected. The pasta is also made very well and is not the usual small dish, none of us complained, in fact it was much appreciated for its quality and quantity. The place is nice and has few seats so it is highly recommended to call to book as it is always full. I think it is the best restaurant in the area so if you are in the area and want to eat well you just have to try it....
