Underground Exploration Museum RYU-Q Kan

The Underground Exploration Museum RYU-Q Kan offers tours of a municipal subterranean drainage channel featuring 18-meter tall pillars and soaring ceilings. This attraction is a Mecca for infrastructure enthusiasts interested in rainwater management in big cities. Although the tour is conducted only in Japanese, English waivers are provided along with an option to download an English recorded tour. Visitors need to pay close attention to their surroundings during the tour.
Little bit hard to make reservation, but this is a must visit place once in lifetime.
Alghi Fary — Google review
Very impressive man made marvel! Tour could be a bit more extensive in my opinion, because you’re ‘only’ shown the BIG water tank.
S V — Google review
For municipal flood control infrastructure, the Ryu-Q Kan was absolutely fascinating. It's a temple to water control. I love exploring these types of unseen places. My only regret was not booking early enough to get onto the extended tour. The basic tour was still really interesting. 😀
Mathew Yee — Google review
An absolutely insane, once in a lifetime experience. Mecca for infrastructure nerds. The staff was very helpful and guided us through everything but beware, the tour is in Japanese only. The staff helped us out with a few English words here and there and pantomimed us through everything. They had English waivers and you can download an English language recorded tour so we weren't completely lost but you need to pay attention to what's going on around you.
Jason Jones — Google review
Very cool space to explore! Appreciated the English tour information available through the app and the receptionist that was able to speak English when checking in.
Curtis L — Google review
Unique place! The scale and complexity of engineering is very impressive. The guided tour is mainly in Japanese, but there are some resources in English and they are very informative. The on-site exhibits are also very interesting with super detailed miniature models of the extended sure and equipment. Definitely worth it visiting this place.
Kostas Spyropoulos — Google review
Worth a trip - walked the way from the station to the Museum and used the great shopping mall on the way to get a good picnic before going underground. Quite interesting and they got an app that explains things in english.
Daniel Kirstenpfad — Google review
Need to book a taxi on the way back if there is no bus available at the time you finish seeing the facility. Great way to learn about rain water management in big cities.
Haruko Kogiso — Google review
Interesting exhibition with a documentary explaining the facility. Entrance to the actual facility seems to require booking a tour. We hadn’t done that so missed the main attraction.
Dirk Hebecker — Google review
Very cool underground chamber for redirecting floodwaters. Eerie to learn how deep it can get during rainy seasons. I recommend the longer tour - i did the shorter, hour long one, and while cool, it was a bit short and we didn't get to see the big shaft. Tour is JP only but they have a audio guide and English brochures. Cool museum too (jp only)
Melos HT — Google review
Amazing experience, learning about the water basins, why they need to manage the stormwater, how they created and manage the facility and how it functions. Walking into the underground temple looks like something out of a dystopian or fantasy movie. They also had many scale models and maps that were really cool to help see how it functions. Lots of stairs. Japanese only (requires a fluent Japanese speaker / guide for safety reasons), but there is an audio app to help follow along in multiple other languages. 30 min hike from the train station (but a nice river path along a park).
Andrew Russell — Google review
Very impressive mega construction, beyond our daily life the safety is supported by the massive palace. By driving yourself is most convenient. Very limit bus schedule, need check and plan earlier. If dont have plenty time, suggest take taxi from nearby city

Uchimaki Park is a delightful outdoor space that is currently undergoing enhancement. The park features lush greenery, beautiful flower beds, and seasonal cherry blossoms that add to its charm. It also boasts of several amenities such as playgrounds for kids, barbecue areas, and picnic spots that are perfect for family outings. The park also has a fitness trail where visitors can enjoy some exercise while taking in the scenic surroundings.

It's fun because there are small and large pieces of play equipment, and people of all ages can play with it. As a parent, I also appreciate that there are lots of big trees so there is plenty of shade! I choose Uchinomaki Park to play in the park on hot days because it's cool to play even on hot days. It's not a park you'll have to go to from far away, but if it's about 15 minutes away, I highly recommend it. (Translated by Google) Kasukabe City has many tourist attractions, so I would like to collect information here first. Various things were introduced in the store, and the following were especially recommended. ・ Shops and exhibition halls where Crayon Shin-chan's anime and movies are set ・ Straw hats are a remnant of a region that has prospered in rice and wheat production areas for a long time. ・ Kasukabe paulownia box Food and drink include local gourmet Kasukabe fried noodles and local beer made with hops from Hanno. The "Metropolitan Area Outer Floodway" that you often see these days is quite far from Kasukabe, and it takes about 30 minutes by bicycle. There is also a rental cycle. Kasukabe City flourished as a post town on the Nikko Highway during the Edo period. Although it is not a famous scenic spot like a castle town, there are small facilities and temples and shrines scattered throughout the area that remind you of the times. However, it is understood that Kasukabe's appeal as a tourist destination is not that great, and ``Crayon Shin-chan'' is contributing greatly to the appeal of Kasukabe to the whole country. Kasukabe City became well-known on a national level as it was the filming location for the movie "Crayon Shin-chan" and was recognized as a sacred place for anime, so the inside and outside of the building was covered in "Crayon Shin-chan". is. However, it is also Kasukabe City's tourist information center, and is cleverly collaborating with Kureshin to disseminate information about the city and provide guidance on scenic spots, and it also holds its own stamp rallies to encourage sightseeing in the city. The employees here were also very kind, polite, and enthusiastic about their work. It also doubles as a product sales information center, with information on agricultural products and specialty products from around Kasukabe City, some of which can be purchased here. There are surprisingly many senbei shops in Kasukabe city. The eastern part of Saitama Prefecture is also a pear producing area, and pear juice is also sold here. Also popular is the ``Wisteria Udon'' made with purple sweet potato pigment sold at this information center. Although it cannot be denied that it is lacking in appeal as a scenic spot, I feel that the charm of Kasukabe has been fully promoted through the efforts and passion of Kureshin and the staff.
