Outdoor Activities
Kalamar Beach Club is a hidden gem located at the edge of town, offering a serene and well-maintained setting for relaxation. The club features a spacious decking platform nestled into the rocks, providing an ideal spot for swimming, snorkeling, or simply enjoying a refreshing cocktail on a sunbed. Visitors can also indulge in various water activities such as waterskiing and pedalos while taking in the crystal-clear waters and stunning views.
Tucked away towards the edge of town down a steep slope is this lazy beach club. Loved: Great service Cleanliness Frozen lemonade Beautiful and well looked after location What's available: Sun loungers Pedalo Trampoline in the sea Diving club/school Restaurant/bar Crystal clear waters Toilets We ate here and the staff provided a shuttle back up the steep hill. Be sure to check if this is available. Bring your own towels. Enjoy the stunning views!

Nice place... Frozen Lemonade is awesome... Entrance fee is 25 try VIP section fee 35 try I strongly recommend the lodge in southern part of the beach for families with children. They did not charge for 3 children under 5 y/o. You can use sea kayak for free. If you want to find a place, don't be too late.

Great location, i will say one of the best in Kalkan, perfect sea, clean water and beach, easy access to the sea. Huge breakfast, excellent customer service and a special thanks to Devlet, he was friendly, patient and very helpful.

A lovely place to spend the day. Gorgeous food, amazing service.

Beautiful place to relax and unwind. Dosh was amazing, very friendly and helpful throughout the day. Free shuttle back up the steep hill is a nice touch too. 👌
Liam Aspland — Google review
Excellent place, great food, wonderful and very big area in the bay for swimming. A trampoline and a floating podium in the water, which are great for jumping into the water, are a lot of fun for the entire family.
Maria Green — Google review
I liked the beach and was going there every day. Entrance is 40tl. I didn’t expect anything from food on the beach, salads are huge and snacks like fries are as everywhere else. There is a trampoline in the water. I’ve enjoyed the water and views. Staff is very nice. I’ll come back if i have chance :)
Anna P — Google review
Fantastic beach club very well organised, wonderful location, great service and nice marine fauna in the water...highly recommended!
Sasha — Google review
Lovely views, great swimming, plenty of sunbeds, great milkshakes, food if you want it, great service and, crucially, a free lift home up the v v steep hill! There are posher ones (eg Mahal) but this has everything
Richard Holmes — Google review
This place is a tiny bit of heaven. The sea is like a swimming pool, the host really looks after you and the views are just stunning. I'm not sure where much else you could ask for. It's already 25 lira for a bed, about 4 quid, and that covers everything, including pedalos and a taxi. Incredible value. If this was Ibiza I can't even imagine what that would cost.

Great snorkeling and access to PADI diving Lots of hills to negotiate on the way there and back, be mindful if driving

Wonderful location and fantastic staff. We have come for many years, but not since 2019 and were a little anxious as we had heard the pontoons had gone. They have, but still easy to get into the sea, if you wear beach shoes! Lots of pebbles. A small 100 lira fee for sunbeds, some beach parks are double. Unfortunately the turtles have gone too. There are some watersports next door, but did not intrude on our enjoyment. It's popular but the new owners have created a lovely new restaurant area and we're very friendly, even helping us store bags and reserve a table for our wait to travel back out. A big relief. Food is very good, reasonably priced and fantastic to see so many young ladies working alongside the boys at last. Highly recommended , we will be back again.
Jacky Dunn — Google review
Arrived via water taxi. We had beds right by the sea. Including day beds and sun loungers. Great access to the sea for children. Wonderful blue waters. The kids enjoyed the free to use Kayaks and sea trampoline.the food, drink and service were superb. For a party of six it cost £200. That’s for Breakfast, milkshakes, lunchtime snacks and of course a couple of alcoholic drinks.. this included the beds, loungers and the sea transfer. Great value and a very relaxing day out.
James Bell — Google review
One of the best beach around Kalkan area. We come here every day during our stay two years in a row. This year sunbed fee in the end of season (October) - 50 liras per person. Very friendly staff. Very nice sea and small stones. There was nice pontoon till the 11th of Oct.
????? ???????? — Google review
Disappointed after good reviews. Lovely setting. Nice staff. A bit overpriced comparedwith other beach clubs. The restaurant was a real disappointment. The frozen drinks had melted before they arrived. It took 50 minutes for 2 pizza's to arrive and the other food arrived ten minutes later, so we didn't eat together. Cheese and onion pizza arrived without onions. I was offered some raw onions on the side! Poor effort.
Garry Dempster — Google review
This is a great place to take kids. Easy access to the water (beach shoes recommended as it's a beach made with stones) but also large pontoon out from beach to dive off. All very safe. Great staff and fair prices with good range of food. Boat fee refunded from bar/food bill (25tlpp) sun beds 100.
Steve Lo — Google review
I recently stayed at this location for a couple of days. Unfortunately, there was no transfer service, so guests are required to find their own transportation. The beach had both positive and negative aspects. While there were some free sunbeds available, the majority of the area required payment. Additionally, the water temperature varied in different areas, and near the shore, it was very cold. On the positive side, the sunbeds were comfortable, the umbrellas were large, and there was an interesting trampoline on the water.
Mash — Google review
It's amazing, beyond expectations, Loved the place and listed on the favorite list..
SAM LOGISTIC — Google review
Just ok, we arrived to find that the slide and the trampoline had been removed, two of the main reasons we went there as it was supposed to be a family friendly place. The food from the restaurant was good, although timing was shocking, meals all came out at very different times so none of us ate together. Service was good. Would have rather done another day at Zest personally!
Barry Munton — Google review
Warmer water than other beach clubs and shallow water (leading to deep) so better for smaller children. Watersports hub next door was easier than other clubs too. Food was v good and under 12 get free sunbeds and water taxi. For adults the water taxi fee is deducted from final bill. Sadly the water slide is no more but there’s a pool and play area too. Sunbed waiter service was good and drinks were top notch. Snorkelling around the cliffs was good as more marine life than in the main bay. Cheers.
James Jackson — Google review
Expensive compared to Palm Beach club. A party of 5 having two drinks each and a light lunch cost £140. Palm Beach cost £90 for same food and drinks etc and personally a better venue

I made a reservation one day in advance after visiting the hotel to check out a similar room. However, upon arriving for check-in, I was informed that my reserved room had been given to a tourism agency with priority. Although no similar room was available, the hotel offered an alternative room at a discounted rate. We accepted the new room. During our stay, we encountered an issue with the room's door not locking properly. We promptly reported this to the staff, who assured us that the technical team would address it. They mentioned that the presence of security cameras minimized any security concerns, so we left the door unlocked while we went out. The hotel's beach area disappointed us; it lacked cleanliness, order, hygiene, and effective communication among the staff. It seemed that you needed to pay extra for better services. When the sea was calm, it was a beautiful spot. Returning to our room before dinner, we discovered that the door lock issue persisted. We took showers and went out for the evening. Upon returning at midnight, we found numerous insects on the room's floor. Concerned for our health, we went to the reception and requested a room change. Unfortunately, they claimed there were no available rooms and offered us medication instead. At 12:00 AM, they informed us that they couldn't find a room within their hotel or elsewhere. They offered to refund our payment and arrange accommodation later. Eventually, they located a room in a neighboring hotel, which we had no choice but to accept, incurring extra costs. However, they could only process the refund the following evening, after working hours, through phone calls. In my opinion, people should never go to this place.

We were lucky to discover Kalkan beach club on our first day, and we absolutely fell in love with the gorgeous view, beautifully turquoise sea, comfy loungers and the atmosphere - the perfect spot to hang out all day. It’s a family-run place with a heart, the staff are attentive and extremely friendly. We also stayed for dinner a few times and thoroughly enjoyed the food - fresh and delicious - we literally saw our dinner being caught the same morning! From saffron king prawns and shark soup to something more mainstream like pizzas - everything was tasty. There is a taxi boat that came very handy for trips into town. A great bonus for me (as a parent) was a big inflatable sea trampoline that my kids had hours of fun on. For kids I’d recommend to bring water shoes (they also sell them and other bits and bobs at the beach shop). I saw that some reviews suggested a slightly higher price - but, looking back, it was worth every penny for the great holiday experience all five of us had. My special thank you goes to Ali for looking after us so well 🙌🏻🙏🏻 You’ll see us next year for sure!

Had an amazing first Türkiye holiday and stayed in this lovely hotel. The room and location were fantastic and especially the service was amazing, nice and friendly staffs. Most recommended. Would definitely be going there again 😊

If you want luxury rooms with private beach side and lots to do with little to minimum travel this is the place. You can get to Kalkan city in 130 TL by taxi or you can wait to get a boat taxi which is free of cost. The management is super helpful and provide great hospitality. The rooms were clean and the jacuzzi was great and does the job. You have massage , restaurant, water activities in the property so you all covered with that. Also ample parking area in front.
Ankur Sarin — Google review
We stayed in a room with a sea view and terrace, it was very are nice. The free boat to the Harbour and back is very handy. Sunbeds and beach equipment are also nice. Super friendly stuff of the hotel, they are ready to make your stay very comfortable. Extremely dirty in the room (under the bed, jacuzzi on the terrace, the ants all over the room, so you have to watch your things left on a table!). The stuff are using the swimming pool after work hours. The hot water needed to be wait for a few minutes after 11pm. The breakfast was aweful, no choice at all. As for me the hotel is overpriced plus the are constructing a more rooms, but territory not huge enough.
m july — Google review
Cost to serve ratio is not good, quite expensive place with moderate quality. As a couple we spent a day there at the beach and paid 70€ for a simple breakfast (omlete), some non-alcoholic drinks, ice cream and two beach loungers. The water is clear blue and the view is good. Staff is friendly and helpful.

We always have an amazing time at Yali beach club. The staff, especially Derhan, are really welcoming and accommodating to your wishes! The location, food and overall vibe of the place is perfect. So if you’re looking for a lovely relaxed day with superb food and service this is the place for you! Thank you Yali

Just got back from a lovely 9 days in Kalkan and spent most days at Yali Beach club. The location is in a beautifully set position on the cliff side looking back to the Kalkan harbour and town. There are just a few steps into the sea which is achieved via 2 sets of stairs. Sun beds are like full mattresses and very comfortable, and sun shades are good size, offering plenty of shade if desired (we were under there most of the time). WiFi is good and allowed me to listen to or stream the ashes all afternoon. The service is excellent, and the food just as good with my favourite being the buttered prawns. Special acknowledgement to Dila and Adam, who could not have been any nicer. We will be back. Thanks again.

We have visited Yali Beach club several times, beautiful location, staff are friendly and attentive and the food is always consistently good thanks to Adem, Dila and all the team.
S E — Google review
One of the best beach clubs I have been to, amazing views, unbelievably comfy sun beds and the friendliest staff who all look after you. Dila is an absolute gem and makes sure you have one of the most relaxing days of your holiday. Could not recommend Yali more as well as their ‘electric kiwi margaritas’. If you’re in Kalkan it is a must!

Very nice. If you are not a sand person, this is the perfect spot with clean, decent, respectful service, set-up and personnel. Would have been better if there is some face control and separate areas for smokers, albeit it is open area when the guy sitting next to you is a chain smoker and wind is not your friend; summer sun turns into hell.

As I am a Turkish citizen , very frustrated I am what is going on in my country lands , it’s extremely expensive for local people but for foreign :) just a few pounds or other currencies..for each drink or foods Thanks to our local restaurants who doesn’t want to get any local people inside :) hmm just call it feel foreign in your own country:)

We stayed at Asfiya hotel so got access to Yali beach club. We went on day 2 and were really impressed with the service and how tasty the food was at lunch so came again another 2 times. Dila and all the team were very friendly and made sure we were looked after! Highly recommend.

Nestled in Kalkan, Mahal Beach Club is a must-visit spot offering a delightful experience. It is attached to Villa Mahal and boasts delectable food options including stone-fired oven pizzas for lunch and waterside dining for dinner. While there are mentions of small portions and lack of sunbed mattresses, the overall experience seems to be relaxing with a nice position. Visitors praise the exquisite cocktails, stunning views, and friendly staff.
Really great night - Carlos was fabulous and looked after us so well! Really brilliant night!
TravisXQuinn — Google review
The reason this place only has 23 reviews is because they have the very bad ones removed. I left a review after my last visit, the club tried to send me a private message and then the review has since disappeared. Last visit here was June 2021 and it has gone way up in price and way down in quality of service. You are not getting what you pay for here.

My favorite restaurant. Everything is simply amazing. Food, atmosphere, cocktails, sea. Ideal place for romantic and not. only dinner. Many thanks to Mehmet Sarigode for creating such a service for guests ♥️

Beautiful romantic evening dinner with my partner by the water, food and cocktails are amazing here, rustic quiet vibe for couples.
Charlie Creasey — Google review
Not as I remember it! Seems to have lost its vibe. Much more expensive than some of the other Beach Clubs. An Efes was over double the price of a Beach Club just across the way/water. Not worth it in my opinion. Shame :-(

Complete rip off its £5.70 for a orange juice that is a small glass. Zest is a much nicer beach club and much cheaper with professional service. Do not go here unless you have money to throw away to rude people!!
Pjand Sons — Google review
Sadly I have to agree with many of the negative comments about this beach club. We used to so look forward to a day here but having been back for the first time since covid we will not return this year which is a shame as we still have over two weeks to go. We will also stop suggesting it as a place to go! It has always been more than other places but it offered value. Not so now. The prices are excessively expensive, it’s not very well cleaned after the day before and the service is poor as is the food offer and quality. Deck chairs are 200tl the beds are 800 but they don’t tell you this in advance. Saw a young couple getting stung because they moved just for a short while. So sad

Our favourite beach club of the holiday. Super friendly and attentive staff. Great location, comfy sunbeds & even a visit from a turtle. Special mention goes to Fatima, who looked after us all day. Thank you Fatima.

NEVER EVER COME TO THIS PLACE AGAIN. This place is a total waste of time and money and with a bonus of being thrown out just because you changed your seat after asking to waiter. Though the waiters seem helpful, management is extremely rude and don’t know how to treat to customers. Food is worse than ever, too expensive for poor quality , pouring cold ice water into hot coffee(ish), about 10£ for a small french fries. And never forget to check your invoice, most likely, the things you don’t eat or drink are written on the invoice.

DON'T COME AND DON'T WASTE YOUR PRECIOUS TIME IN HERE The most RUDE and CHURLISH Manager I've ever met. Foods are awful, cold drinks come warm, the waiters are average. The manager came and fired us, his aptitude was very rude. We were resting a bit backwards of the platform. There was an empty place at the front row. So we asked the waiter if we could sit there. Waiter said sure so we passed there. After that the manager came and fired us from there and blamed us as we sit there without any permission. We asked our receipt, he has wrote extra drink that we haven't drunk. We asked him to delete them, he deleted. At last we left the place. So annoying and disrespectful place and manager I ve ever met in Kalkan. PLEASE DON'T COME HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LOWER YOUR MORALE.

We went to Denizim Beach by boat transfer from the harbour, which gives you a nice free water view. Sunbeds cost 150TL. Food was good, normal Kalkan Prices (about 200TL, per person). One special thing to know, the sea water is very cold, because of ground water flowing into the sea. But we will go again.

This beach club is lovely. A free boat from Kalkan Harbour to the club... loads of comfy beds and umbrellas. Staff are amazing and very attentive. The sea is colder here but very refreshing. Great food and atmosphere x

We went without reservation on a weekday and the young lady from the staff kindly arranged us sunbeds with a kind attitude which is sadly not common in similar beach clubs. Polite and friendly young staff is definitely the greatest strength of this place. Entrance fee and food prices are more reasonable than the other places nearby. Food is average but the portions are not small. I would definitely come back again.

Every visit at Sunset Restaurant has been an absolute delight. The shish kebabs, mushroom chicken, meze, soufflé and a lot more are incredibly delicious, and they never disappoint. What truly sets this place apart is the exceptionally friendly, lovely and welcoming staff. They make you feel like family, which keeps me coming back. The Sunset Restaurant is the go-to spot for a memorable dining experience kalkan – the view is amazing!! Highly recommended! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was one of the best places we ate at in many turkish towns we visited not only Kalkan. The restaurant was not crowded as other famous ones in Kalkan, yet I was surprised with the service, the service and the above all the taste, it was truly homemade, well presented yet different than many others we have tried. This is one place on my list that I would gladly come back to. Thank you really for the hospitality, the phenomenal taste and the fantastic view
Queen N — Google review
We had a wonderful dinner at Sunset last night. Yavuz & Günay were great hosts and their homemade lemonade was fantastic.
Ozan Sevimli — Google review
Probably my favourite restaurant in Kalkan. The view is spectacular, but many of the surrounding restaurants with a similar view do not provide the same level of service and value for money as Sunset Restaurant. This restaurant is run by a small family and the service is one of their star qualities as a result, they are lovely people who are quick to serve and try their best to please. I dined as part of a group of 11 and we ate at a quiet time of the day, despite this the food came out relatively quickly and was absolutely perfect, everyone enjoyed their meal. We spent approximately 450 TL per head, this included our meals and a drink or two each. Compared to other restaurants the quality pound for pound was excellent. If you’re going to the waterfront expecting to have a meal, all of the restaurants charge very similar amounts for a meal and drinks, but others charge more for much less in terms of service and food quality. Also the owner may embellish his ‘world famous’ lemonade a little, but that doesn’t make it any less tasty! He is just marketing his business so I’m not sure why some people are upset with this. It certainly was very good, and hearing the story of how he produces it was very interesting. Definitely give this restaurant a try if you can.

The hottest acili ezme in Kalkan and their Saksuka is simply divine. Sunset is a family owned restaurant where you can taste proper home made Turkish food. Yavuz and his wife Gulay are really lovely people and their will make you feel at home. I strongly recommend their mussaka - the best I had in my entire life! And their home made lemonade is to die for!
Piero FilippIN — Google review
What a wonderful place to eat! The food was fresh and very tasty, the kitchen is open plan so you can see the chef preparing your food. The staff were very kind and welcoming. You must try the 'famous' lemonade! It's homemade iced lemonade and you can choose your alcohol (gin, vodka etc). Delicious!
Kellie Mara — Google review
The place with the famous homemade lemonade!! Put Sunset on your list of places to eat if you are visiting Kalkan. Great views across the bay and the food was amazing. Try the honey chilli chicken!! …. And yes, the lemonade hype is justified
Nick Holding — Google review
Very nice restaurant with a nice view and seating area. Friendly staff and good service. Delicious food and nice portions. The Non-alcholic lemonade is a must try drink. We loved it
Sara eldessouky — Google review
We had 'famous' lemonade and coffee on a cloudy, cool June 2023 day, low season, few tourists around town. Service fast and friendly (Mr. Yavuz), and you are unrushed/unpressured, you can sit as long as you like (dogs come and sit by you). Kind, gentle service all one can ask for. Tables/chairs good quality, custom made even. View is fantastic, harbor boats coming and going, beach (halk plaji) right there. Lemonade is very tasty, although 'famous' is a bit overstated. Coffee is good, but could be hotter. Only complaint is, wow, the price is sky high. 100TL for lemonade, 60TL for coffee. Ouch. Even in the USA 5$ for lemonade would be considered very high. Yes location/view is awesome... so that's the way it must be I guess.

Baharat Restaurant & Bar, as its Turkish name suggests, specializes in serving dishes abundant in a variety of spices, providing a distinct culinary experience deeply rooted in Turkish and broader Mediterranean gastronomic traditions. The establishment offers an array of meals with a particular focus on grilled meat-based options such as traditional kebabs, lamb chops, and steaks. Each dish is carefully seasoned with aromatic spices that impart a unique and flavorful note.

Amazing! Without a doubt the most beautiful steak I have ever ate. We had Wild Boar to start, very rich but very nice. Next up was the main event, Chateubriand. Not just one of the finest dry aged pieces of meat you will find but a meal with some drama. Finished at your table with flames flying everywhere. The drama is backed up by taste as well. Highly recommended.

The best restaurant we ate in on our holiday, warm welcome, attentive staff. The steaks were out of this world (I’m extremely fussy too!) lovely view from the terrace - must book for dinner though, this place is incredibly popular. We will be back again!

It's all about finishing off the steaks at the table with flambeau which we enjoyed even though non of us had steak. Portion size is on the small side especially for things such as rice. The frozen strawberry daiquiri was good.
Shui-Yee Bateman-Wong — Google review
I learned about baharat restaurant not from the sign or reviews but from the red defender car the owner Hasan has roaming around Kalkan. it is an interesting-looking car, a real solid one with the baharat sign painted on the sides. Recently, prince Philip's casket was carried on a modified defender during his televised funeral per his will. But this review is not about the car but about the place and the experience of eating out at baharat. it is a meat restaurant and the host Hasan Akbas is a vivacious and colorful chef putting on a show many times per night so don't worry if you miss one. He will have another one at another table soon. The meats are dry aged and full of flavor. According to him, this year he bought the meat from the high plains of Burdur. baharat is one of the better restaurants in Kalkan and probably the best meat restaurant in Kas-Kalkan-Patara area. Don't miss it.

Amazing steak! However it comes with a big price tag. If you want to treat yourself, go for it. But it is not going to be your regular dinner place while you are in Kalkan.

Seriously the best steak I have ever eaten. Don’t bother with anything else other then the chateaubriand. Cooked to perfection, succulent, tender, great flavour. I don’t typically leave reviews but I had to for this. I have paid fortunes for steaks in the US, Canada and all over Europe, nothing comes close. The steak was cooked at your table chicago style. Pure theatre. Dined there 2 nights ago and going back tonight.

Ordered Chateaubriand for three, it was just a tough bit of old rump, very gristly, I thought Chateaubriand was supposed to be the tenderloin!? We asked for it rare, it was but it was terribly burnt on the outside. The chef flame cooked it at our table but carved it immediately, no time to rest, oozing juices and three tiny slices each. We complained, the owner said one in a thousand would be bad but didn’t offer us another!!! I said we were not going to pay for the Chateaubriand and he said he would call the police!! Unfortunately my daughter went and paid the bill as she didn’t want to spend the night in a Turkish jail. I asked him three times what cut of beef it was, he refused to answer. Complete tourist trap and very unpleasant owner. Avoid.

Visited this restaurant while in town. The view and location are excellent. Service is acceptable but there is nothing special about the food. Had a steak with some veggies. The fish platter was very small and had no taste. It's made for tourists. I definitely will not go here again as the price/food quality is not worth it.

Food was delicious. We had the steak fajitas and the surf and turf and a couple of cocktails as it was happy hour!

We had the loveliest meal on the balcony, we were extremely lucky to book on the day and use to a cancellation we had the best table in the house! Food very traditional and plentiful. Good selection of wine. Professional friendly service that leaves you coming back for more. Have booked a return visit already! Thank you!

We had meze, mixed seafood casserole, fish on the grill, fried calamari and chicken schnitzel. All was excellent and very well presented. The tables are on the very narrow street. Service was very good. We had complementary ice crime which was a surprise and very delicious. We can recommend this small place. Reservation recommended.

From all the options that we have in this region, I believe this small restaurant to be the most home-cooked like. All others, despite having good reviews, looked like they were big serve-it-all restaurants. We had a very tasty lunch: Mediterranean salad, chicken skewers and hommus (that comes with bread that you can repeat)

Incredible service from a wonderful family run restaurant. We booked way in advance and were not disappointed. Beautiful food (veggie meze for two plus halloumi, prawns and breads), wine and great setting on the balcony table. Thank you so much and hope to visit again.

Lovely little restaurant tucked up a side street in Kalkan. We had the Mediterranean salad, courgette and walnut dip, and a seabass to share.

One of our favourite meals on our holiday. Great to see a smaller menu with authentic food. Family business, relaxing atmosphere and fantastic food. We’ll be returning.

We’ve gotten the table on their balcony and it was amazing (9pm~11pm) 🫶🏼 we liked our sea breams, and starters were great too. Just please create an online reservation)

We had a meal here on Friday night on friends recommendation, whilst the food was perfectly fine, good traditional home cooked faire, nothing particularly special, the place is completely devoid of atmosphere. There is a nice little balcony single table overlooking the busy shopping street that you have to book 6 months in advance! other than that there is a tiny room with 5 tables which seats about 14, small house by name. There were two other couples there when we visited and we were literally hemmed into one corner which was very awkward especially when your neighbours aren’t talking much and can hear everything you say. It would be much better if there was some background music or the restaurant was full I’m sure, but I found it overwhelming and was happy to get out and get some fresh air. I think this place is overrated and can’t see what all the fuss is about! The service was lack lustre. I would go again, but only if I could have the balcony table away from the stifling small room!

Popped in initially after reading all the rave reviews. Got to the top of the stairs to be confronted by a small dining area (full!) to my left, and what was clearly the kitchen to my right. A couple who were just paying, offered their view of the place. "Best place in Kalkan by far. If there's just two of you, book the balcony" Managed to get the ear of the waiter (son of owner, as it turned out) and enquired as to when it would be available. Watched apprehensively as he turned the pages, finally finding a free spot on our final evening! Convinced it was meant to be, booked it for 7:00pm and descended the stairs to break the good news to my partner Janet, who was still being badgered by the owner of the restaurant opposite. We suddenly realised that the Small House is probably the only restaurant in the Old Town that doesn't have someone outside trying to drag tourists in, and clearly relies on reputation and word of mouth. Our final evening came all too quickly. We turned up about fifteen minutes early and were welcomed by the owner who ushered us through to be seated at the table on the small balcony. Let's just say two people ideal, four would be a squeeze. Let's also state that the food was brilliant, the service faultless, with the son at one point introducing the cook (his proud mum) to us. Having already had a starter and main, we managed to make room for a complementary dessert. Seemed the only way to finish was to order a Raki each. Check out my photo for the way it was served. Probably a good thing that we hadn't known just what a brilliant aperitif this is, otherwise we'd have spent a small fortune on it during our two weeks in this magical resort. However long your stay here, make the Small House an absolute must visit.

Straight on my top 3 restaurants (and I've been to a fair few ;) ). The food was amazing, best grilled halloumi I've ever had, fish fresh and perfectly cooked. Staff was so nice and friendly. Also it's a really small place indeed so only a few tables, we were lucky to go early season so no problem to have a table if you're going later in the summer make sure you book in advance :)

We visited kalkan with some friends for 3 nights. 2 of the nights we ate at this top quality restaurant. Based in the centre of Kalkan this little restaurant recommended by a friend. The food, service and ambience was astounding! This is definitely the best restaurant I have ever been to. The steak I had was just unbelievable. The chocolate soufflé was just perfect. Thank you for the team for the great experience.

Blue Marlin is a well-known seafood eatery situated in the charming coastal town of Kalkan. This renowned restaurant takes great pride in its offerings and specializes in creating a diverse selection of dishes using freshly caught, local seafood. The menu boasts an array of delectable options, ranging from appetizing starters like calamari and shrimp cocktails to mouthwatering main courses. One particular highlight is the Blue Marlin Platter, which features a tantalizing combination of expertly cooked sea creatures.
Excellent food, lovely service. Get the Lakerda if you're a fish lover! Highly recommended.

I prefer cooking at home because I think I do a better job than most of the restaurant cooks out there. I am worried about the cleanliness of the kitchen, the skills and capabilities of the cooks, etc. more than the food, I am also outraged by the lack of expertise and the apathetic attitude of the servers. Hence I avoid them. However, somebody recommended this place, one of the few restaurants open in the Kalkan village because only a handful of people are left in town to spend the winter here. The village is like a ghost town and it is depressing to see so many of the interiors of the restaurants full of overturned tables and stacks of chairs. But not this place...thank god. First of all, the display showed a decent selection of mezes; the horsdeuvres eaten before the main course. Maybe it did not have some of our favorites, like the octopus, and giant shrimp, etc. but on the vegetarian side, it was good. Fish looked big, shiny, and very fresh, clearly arrived that day. The proprietor, also the cook, asked me about his suggested prep technique of the head and the bones...go ahead I said. It was the right decision. pleasure doubled with that first sip of the raki with a few chunks of the meze already downed. The main course, deniz levregi, sea bass, filleted, sauteed to a nice crispness, including the head and the backbone. The cheeks were a delight and crunchiness of the backbone was music to my ears. It is an unassuming place, and this is really a good time to go with plenty of fish in the sea and a few in Kalkan.

The food was so bad, the service is hospitable but waiter do all the opposite because he didn’t speak English at all, he asked if I finished, I said no and he took the plate, and all in the same way. The served dishes was full of oil even if it was grilled, and without any taste just oil and the calamari or fish. Buy yourself a fresh fish in nearest market and cook it by yourself even if you can’t cook it would be 100% better

A small, cosy family restaurant. The starters are delicious and the choice is plentiful enough to keep you happy. The fish is fresh and daily. I recommend you to take into account the opinions of the owner and chef Mr Murat about the fish and cooking techniques. In a country where even a simple sesame bagel is 10 Tl, if you are going to eat fish and drink alcohol, you should not be surprised by the prices. Would I go again? Definitely, I recommend it.
Levent IŞIKLILAR — Google review
Everything is very fresh and so delicious. The location is also amazing. Wide range of traditional mezes, wild seabass and seafood casserole are strongly recommended! Once again, I would really like to thank Murat, the owner of the cosy restaurant.

The best fish and mezze restaurant in Kalkan! Wonderful staff and owner, the freshest, most diverse mezze available, anything you want from the hot and cold menu added to this and incorporated perfectly. The large seabass or grouper are perfect in multiples for groups, and amazing baklava and Turkish coffee to finish.
Laura M — Google review
mezes are full of vinegar you can barely taste what's in them, main courses are dull, would not recommend it even by local standards.

We went believing the comments on the google, the warm starters were bad, the main course was average, the owner is very rude and does not know how to talk to women. If you come to Kas / Kalkan definitely stay away this restaurant. Also too expensive , terrible service!!!
