Every visit at Sunset Restaurant has been an absolute delight. The shish kebabs, mushroom chicken, meze, soufflé and a lot more are incredibly delicious, and they never disappoint. What truly sets this place apart is the exceptionally friendly, lovely and welcoming staff. They make you feel like family, which keeps me coming back. The Sunset Restaurant is the go-to spot for a memorable dining experience kalkan – the view is amazing!! Highly recommended! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was one of the best places we ate at in many turkish towns we visited not only Kalkan. The restaurant was not crowded as other famous ones in Kalkan, yet I was surprised with the service, the service and the above all the taste, it was truly homemade, well presented yet different than many others we have tried. This is one place on my list that I would gladly come back to. Thank you really for the hospitality, the phenomenal taste and the fantastic view

We had a wonderful dinner at Sunset last night. Yavuz & Günay were great hosts and their homemade lemonade was fantastic.

Probably my favourite restaurant in Kalkan. The view is spectacular, but many of the surrounding restaurants with a similar view do not provide the same level of service and value for money as Sunset Restaurant. This restaurant is run by a small family and the service is one of their star qualities as a result, they are lovely people who are quick to serve and try their best to please. I dined as part of a group of 11 and we ate at a quiet time of the day, despite this the food came out relatively quickly and was absolutely perfect, everyone enjoyed their meal. We spent approximately 450 TL per head, this included our meals and a drink or two each. Compared to other restaurants the quality pound for pound was excellent. If you’re going to the waterfront expecting to have a meal, all of the restaurants charge very similar amounts for a meal and drinks, but others charge more for much less in terms of service and food quality. Also the owner may embellish his ‘world famous’ lemonade a little, but that doesn’t make it any less tasty! He is just marketing his business so I’m not sure why some people are upset with this. It certainly was very good, and hearing the story of how he produces it was very interesting. Definitely give this restaurant a try if you can.

The hottest acili ezme in Kalkan and their Saksuka is simply divine. Sunset is a family owned restaurant where you can taste proper home made Turkish food. Yavuz and his wife Gulay are really lovely people and their will make you feel at home. I strongly recommend their mussaka - the best I had in my entire life! And their home made lemonade is to die for!

What a wonderful place to eat! The food was fresh and very tasty, the kitchen is open plan so you can see the chef preparing your food. The staff were very kind and welcoming. You must try the 'famous' lemonade! It's homemade iced lemonade and you can choose your alcohol (gin, vodka etc). Delicious!

The place with the famous homemade lemonade!! Put Sunset on your list of places to eat if you are visiting Kalkan. Great views across the bay and the food was amazing. Try the honey chilli chicken!! …. And yes, the lemonade hype is justified

Very nice restaurant with a nice view and seating area. Friendly staff and good service. Delicious food and nice portions. The Non-alcholic lemonade is a must try drink. We loved it

We had 'famous' lemonade and coffee on a cloudy, cool June 2023 day, low season, few tourists around town. Service fast and friendly (Mr. Yavuz), and you are unrushed/unpressured, you can sit as long as you like (dogs come and sit by you). Kind, gentle service all one can ask for. Tables/chairs good quality, custom made even. View is fantastic, harbor boats coming and going, beach (halk plaji) right there. Lemonade is very tasty, although 'famous' is a bit overstated. Coffee is good, but could be hotter. Only complaint is, wow, the price is sky high. 100TL for lemonade, 60TL for coffee. Ouch. Even in the USA 5$ for lemonade would be considered very high. Yes location/view is awesome... so that's the way it must be I guess.

Homemade lemonade cocktails are super refreshing and tasty. Sea bass with prawns are excellent, masaka is great. Lovely sea views and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend

Beautiful location looking over the sea, family run place extremely friendly, food is excellent, we had a traditional Turkish breakfast which we throughly enjoyed. The homemade lemonade is very good.

The seafood there was amazing. We had all the deserts and everyone loved them. Have to mention the famous lemonade, was so fresh and sweet! Could not recommend more, Yavuz and his wife are the best hosts and made us feel so welcome, great way to experience Turkish culture.

Amazing! Without a doubt the most beautiful steak I have ever ate. We had Wild Boar to start, very rich but very nice. Next up was the main event, Chateubriand. Not just one of the finest dry aged pieces of meat you will find but a meal with some drama. Finished at your table with flames flying everywhere. The drama is backed up by taste as well. Highly recommended.

The best restaurant we ate in on our holiday, warm welcome, attentive staff. The steaks were out of this world (I’m extremely fussy too!) lovely view from the terrace - must book for dinner though, this place is incredibly popular. We will be back again!

It's all about finishing off the steaks at the table with flambeau which we enjoyed even though non of us had steak. Portion size is on the small side especially for things such as rice. The frozen strawberry daiquiri was good.

I learned about baharat restaurant not from the sign or reviews but from the red defender car the owner Hasan has roaming around Kalkan. it is an interesting-looking car, a real solid one with the baharat sign painted on the sides. Recently, prince Philip's casket was carried on a modified defender during his televised funeral per his will. But this review is not about the car but about the place and the experience of eating out at baharat. it is a meat restaurant and the host Hasan Akbas is a vivacious and colorful chef putting on a show many times per night so don't worry if you miss one. He will have another one at another table soon. The meats are dry aged and full of flavor. According to him, this year he bought the meat from the high plains of Burdur. baharat is one of the better restaurants in Kalkan and probably the best meat restaurant in Kas-Kalkan-Patara area. Don't miss it.

Amazing steak! However it comes with a big price tag. If you want to treat yourself, go for it. But it is not going to be your regular dinner place while you are in Kalkan.

Seriously the best steak I have ever eaten. Don’t bother with anything else other then the chateaubriand. Cooked to perfection, succulent, tender, great flavour. I don’t typically leave reviews but I had to for this. I have paid fortunes for steaks in the US, Canada and all over Europe, nothing comes close. The steak was cooked at your table chicago style. Pure theatre. Dined there 2 nights ago and going back tonight.

The food here was delicious and the service was excellent. Between us we had the mixed grill, rack of lamb, a stir fried style of beef, and beef meatballs. Yummy!!

Amazing! If there is one place that you must go in Kalkan then it is here. The food is beautiful and the staff are wonderful. We went a couple of times while we were there, but I would quite happily have gone there every night. Do not miss it!

Great venue, superb food, lovely vibe and really good service. The Chateaubriand is fantastic. I’d say it’s a must go to when you’re in Kalkan.

Ordered Chateaubriand for three, it was just a tough bit of old rump, very gristly, I thought Chateaubriand was supposed to be the tenderloin!? We asked for it rare, it was but it was terribly burnt on the outside. The chef flame cooked it at our table but carved it immediately, no time to rest, oozing juices and three tiny slices each. We complained, the owner said one in a thousand would be bad but didn’t offer us another!!! I said we were not going to pay for the Chateaubriand and he said he would call the police!! Unfortunately my daughter went and paid the bill as she didn’t want to spend the night in a Turkish jail. I asked him three times what cut of beef it was, he refused to answer. Complete tourist trap and very unpleasant owner. Avoid.

Visited this restaurant while in town. The view and location are excellent. Service is acceptable but there is nothing special about the food. Had a steak with some veggies. The fish platter was very small and had no taste. It's made for tourists. I definitely will not go here again as the price/food quality is not worth it.

Food was delicious. We had the steak fajitas and the surf and turf and a couple of cocktails as it was happy hour!

We had meze, mixed seafood casserole, fish on the grill, fried calamari and chicken schnitzel. All was excellent and very well presented. The tables are on the very narrow street. Service was very good. We had complementary ice crime which was a surprise and very delicious. We can recommend this small place. Reservation recommended.

From all the options that we have in this region, I believe this small restaurant to be the most home-cooked like. All others, despite having good reviews, looked like they were big serve-it-all restaurants. We had a very tasty lunch: Mediterranean salad, chicken skewers and hommus (that comes with bread that you can repeat)

Incredible service from a wonderful family run restaurant. We booked way in advance and were not disappointed. Beautiful food (veggie meze for two plus halloumi, prawns and breads), wine and great setting on the balcony table. Thank you so much and hope to visit again.

Lovely little restaurant tucked up a side street in Kalkan. We had the Mediterranean salad, courgette and walnut dip, and a seabass to share.

One of our favourite meals on our holiday. Great to see a smaller menu with authentic food. Family business, relaxing atmosphere and fantastic food. We’ll be returning.

We had a meal here on Friday night on friends recommendation, whilst the food was perfectly fine, good traditional home cooked faire, nothing particularly special, the place is completely devoid of atmosphere. There is a nice little balcony single table overlooking the busy shopping street that you have to book 6 months in advance! other than that there is a tiny room with 5 tables which seats about 14, small house by name. There were two other couples there when we visited and we were literally hemmed into one corner which was very awkward especially when your neighbours aren’t talking much and can hear everything you say. It would be much better if there was some background music or the restaurant was full I’m sure, but I found it overwhelming and was happy to get out and get some fresh air. I think this place is overrated and can’t see what all the fuss is about! The service was lack lustre. I would go again, but only if I could have the balcony table away from the stifling small room!

Popped in initially after reading all the rave reviews. Got to the top of the stairs to be confronted by a small dining area (full!) to my left, and what was clearly the kitchen to my right. A couple who were just paying, offered their view of the place. "Best place in Kalkan by far. If there's just two of you, book the balcony" Managed to get the ear of the waiter (son of owner, as it turned out) and enquired as to when it would be available. Watched apprehensively as he turned the pages, finally finding a free spot on our final evening! Convinced it was meant to be, booked it for 7:00pm and descended the stairs to break the good news to my partner Janet, who was still being badgered by the owner of the restaurant opposite. We suddenly realised that the Small House is probably the only restaurant in the Old Town that doesn't have someone outside trying to drag tourists in, and clearly relies on reputation and word of mouth. Our final evening came all too quickly. We turned up about fifteen minutes early and were welcomed by the owner who ushered us through to be seated at the table on the small balcony. Let's just say two people ideal, four would be a squeeze. Let's also state that the food was brilliant, the service faultless, with the son at one point introducing the cook (his proud mum) to us. Having already had a starter and main, we managed to make room for a complementary dessert. Seemed the only way to finish was to order a Raki each. Check out my photo for the way it was served. Probably a good thing that we hadn't known just what a brilliant aperitif this is, otherwise we'd have spent a small fortune on it during our two weeks in this magical resort. However long your stay here, make the Small House an absolute must visit.

Straight on my top 3 restaurants (and I've been to a fair few ;) ). The food was amazing, best grilled halloumi I've ever had, fish fresh and perfectly cooked. Staff was so nice and friendly. Also it's a really small place indeed so only a few tables, we were lucky to go early season so no problem to have a table if you're going later in the summer make sure you book in advance :)

Amazing drinks/food (sea bass was cooked to perfection), 10/10 service and incredible views! We just got engaged and couldn't have gone anywhere better to celebrate - they even brought out a congratulatory dessert for us. All the staff are excellent - we'll be back for sure!

We visited kalkan with some friends for 3 nights. 2 of the nights we ate at this top quality restaurant. Based in the centre of Kalkan this little restaurant recommended by a friend. The food, service and ambience was astounding! This is definitely the best restaurant I have ever been to. The steak I had was just unbelievable. The chocolate soufflé was just perfect. Thank you for the team for the great experience.

One of my favorite restaurants in Kalkan. We ate here 2 nights, once for seafood and another for steak. Both excellent and delicious mezze. Ambiance is just perfect with views over the bay.

I prefer cooking at home because I think I do a better job than most of the restaurant cooks out there. I am worried about the cleanliness of the kitchen, the skills and capabilities of the cooks, etc. more than the food, I am also outraged by the lack of expertise and the apathetic attitude of the servers. Hence I avoid them. However, somebody recommended this place, one of the few restaurants open in the Kalkan village because only a handful of people are left in town to spend the winter here. The village is like a ghost town and it is depressing to see so many of the interiors of the restaurants full of overturned tables and stacks of chairs. But not this place...thank god. First of all, the display showed a decent selection of mezes; the horsdeuvres eaten before the main course. Maybe it did not have some of our favorites, like the octopus, and giant shrimp, etc. but on the vegetarian side, it was good. Fish looked big, shiny, and very fresh, clearly arrived that day. The proprietor, also the cook, asked me about his suggested prep technique of the head and the bones...go ahead I said. It was the right decision. pleasure doubled with that first sip of the raki with a few chunks of the meze already downed. The main course, deniz levregi, sea bass, filleted, sauteed to a nice crispness, including the head and the backbone. The cheeks were a delight and crunchiness of the backbone was music to my ears. It is an unassuming place, and this is really a good time to go with plenty of fish in the sea and a few in Kalkan.

The food was so bad, the service is hospitable but waiter do all the opposite because he didn’t speak English at all, he asked if I finished, I said no and he took the plate, and all in the same way. The served dishes was full of oil even if it was grilled, and without any taste just oil and the calamari or fish. Buy yourself a fresh fish in nearest market and cook it by yourself even if you can’t cook it would be 100% better

A small, cosy family restaurant. The starters are delicious and the choice is plentiful enough to keep you happy. The fish is fresh and daily. I recommend you to take into account the opinions of the owner and chef Mr Murat about the fish and cooking techniques. In a country where even a simple sesame bagel is 10 Tl, if you are going to eat fish and drink alcohol, you should not be surprised by the prices. Would I go again? Definitely, I recommend it.

Everything is very fresh and so delicious. The location is also amazing. Wide range of traditional mezes, wild seabass and seafood casserole are strongly recommended! Once again, I would really like to thank Murat, the owner of the cosy restaurant.

The best fish and mezze restaurant in Kalkan! Wonderful staff and owner, the freshest, most diverse mezze available, anything you want from the hot and cold menu added to this and incorporated perfectly. The large seabass or grouper are perfect in multiples for groups, and amazing baklava and Turkish coffee to finish.

mezes are full of vinegar you can barely taste what's in them, main courses are dull, would not recommend it even by local standards.

It is my first time visiting Kalkan and after our Boat trip I came across this amazing Restaurant called Blue Marlin. Me and my family had a wonderful evening with delicious food offered by Owner Murat. Brilliant food and service was the perfect way to end our day. A must-try when visiting Kalkan!

One of the best. We always go here when we travel to kaş. We rate it five stars because the food is amazing,the service is kind and fast. Overall I recommend it highly.

We went believing the comments on the google, the warm starters were bad, the main course was average, the owner is very rude and does not know how to talk to women. If you come to Kas / Kalkan definitely stay away this restaurant. Also too expensive , terrible service!!!
