Kamianets-Podilskyi Castle is a historic fortress that dates back to the 1300s. It features 12 original fortification towers, of which seven are well-preserved. The castle was originally built using wood in the 10th to 13th centuries but was later redesigned and rebuilt with stone by Italian military engineers in the 16th century.
Beautiful, and a must visit part of Ukraine. The city near this castle is also a pleasant city, small and happening.

An incredibly atmospheric location with lots to see and do. The castle features a historic inventions museum (and an interactive one at that!), a medieval torture chamber, a lovely pottery shop, and many other interesting things to see and learn about. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves history and medieval architecture :)

At the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries, the temple was rebuilt into a stone one. It lasted from 1502 to 1517. In 1672, Kamianets-Podilskyi was captured by Turkish troops. A minaret was built during their reign. The main city mosque was arranged in the church. During the Polish rule, the church became a Catholic church. Then its reconstruction was carried out. The Polish authorities did not destroy the minaret, but used it for the pedestal of the statue of the Mother of God, which was installed in 1756. In 1781, an arch was built at the central entrance to the territory of the cathedral, in honor of the arrival of the King of Poland, Stanislaus Augustus. In 1935, a museum of atheism was opened in the Peter and Paul Church. But during the Second World War, services were held here. Since 1978, the church has been used as an organ hall. In 1991, the re-consecration of the church took place. In 1993, new bells were installed on the side belfry. (Translated by Google) In my opinion, this is the most beautiful temple in the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi. There is something so mysterious about it that sticks and every time I visit the city, I go to this church. The history of the church dates back to 1370, when a wooden building was erected, which stood at the highest point of the old town, after about 50 years it was completely burned down. Later, a stone temple and monastery were built here. The Dominican monastery is an architectural monument of the 15th-18th centuries. From the previous structure in the Gothic style of the 15th century, almost nothing survived, because the complex was destroyed and rebuilt during the following centuries from the 16th to the 18th. During the rule of the Turks (1672-1699), the church was transformed into a mosque. Substantial reconstructions of the complex took place after the liberation of Kamianets-Podilskyi from the Turks, then the reconstruction was supervised by the military engineer and architect Jan de Witte. During this time, the second floor above the cells of the monastery was built, the baroque bell tower was rebuilt - one of the towering landmarks of the historical part of the city. Representatives of the Potocki family made a significant contribution to the reconstruction of the church and now you can see their coat of arms on its facade. Below it is the coat of arms of the Dominicans in the form of a dog with a torch. The Dominicans called themselves "God's dogs." During the Soviet rule, the Catholic Church suffered a decline. At different times, there were: a seminary, an art school, a library, a museum, an archive, a warehouse of building materials. But thanks to the efforts of local believers, the church was restored again, and in 1999, the first service was held here after a long break.

The tumultuous history of Kamianets-Podilskyi did not contribute to the preservation of the original appearance of the still Gothic building at the base. The complex was destroyed and rebuilt in the 16th - 18th centuries. Thus, in 1596, 1618, 1628, chapels were added to the central nave of the church. The first repair works after the liberation of the city from the Turks began in 1737 at the initiative of the prior of the monastery, Fr. Michal Spendovskyi. Substantial reconstructions of the complex were carried out under the leadership of the military engineer and architect Jan de Witte from Kamian in 1737–1755, on the order and funds of the nobleman, the Terebovel elder Michal Franciszek Pototsky. The architect built a second floor above the scattered cells of the monastery, connecting them with the church and forming a courtyard (cloister), characteristic of the baroque monastic ensembles of Western Europe and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The bell tower was rebuilt in the Baroque style and became one of the towering landmarks of the historical part of the city. (Translated by Google) The church has preserved three naves and a baroque tower on the main facade to this day. Belongs to the type of basil. The central nave is of the same length and height as the altar, still a Gothic part, to which the chapels (vaulted, northern and southern) are attached. The silhouette of the church is enriched by the rounded domes of the southern and northern Renaissance chapels. In the interiors of the chapels (in the domes) there are remnants of stucco Renaissance stucco. Chapels are the brightest examples of the Renaissance in Kamianets-Podilskyi. The three naves of the church have cross vaults with elastic arches. Inside, the central nave is connected to the side naves by high arches; now it does not have natural light, because the former round windows are covered with stone. The interior decorations belong to the 18th century — these are cartouches, fluted pilasters, rococo and eclectic moldings. The entrance arches to the chapels are created in the form of "deaf" two-column porticoes with torn triangular pediments in the Baroque style. The walls of the church are made of stone on a limestone solution, plastered. Modern gable roofs with a fold, covered with modern iron. Lighting is through skylights, there is no dome, a signature has been created. The altar part from the outside is faceted with buttresses and Gothic windows. The bell tower is baroque, has three tiers. The lower tier is decorated with pilasters of the Doric order and a broken pediment, the middle one with the Ionic order, and the upper one with the composite order. The belfry is crowned by a tent roof with a balustrade and a spire. The facade of the second tier preserved the sculptures.

The restaurant Pid Bramoyu offers a breathtaking panorama, which was enhanced by fortunate rainfall during lunchtime. Surprisingly, the food surpassed expectations for a tourist spot, particularly the borscht and "Katherine II pockets" which sparked interest. Additionally, the prices were lower than anticipated. Although service was slow, the exceptional view overshadowed any shortcomings and warranted a perfect rating. The menu featured Ukrainian cuisine including bograch, potato pancakes, and roast accompanied by two beers.
Excellent food from the Ukrainian kitchen. The staff speaks mostly Ukrainian but know enough English to adequately handle orders from westerners. Besides that the staff is friendly and attentive. With a location with views like this restaurant has we were quite surprised that the prices were quite low compared to same quality establishments in other regions of Ukraine. When I got my mashed potatoes and steamed chicken cutlets, I was greatly surprised when I couldn't cut one of them. I guess these cutlets were frozen and they didn't melt properly. Troye V Kanoe is a must-visit spot in Kamianets, known for its delicious sandwiches and fresh food. The cozy interior and great location make it a perfect place to enjoy some tasty and nicely spiced dishes. With an original decoration, this friendly snack bar offers great salads, burgers, and even chapati. The exterior is also impressive with two porches and a cool totem that looks amazing at night.
We were guests in Kamianets. My friend recommended me this place. So yummy and delicious 😋 cozy and nice interior. Good location. Super tasty and fresh food. We took some chapati and it was amazing!! If you love to eat great - you need to come here for sure!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The food is good! Nicely spiced and tastes yummy. It's more of a snack bar, rather than a restaurant, but worth a visit if you like pulled pork or Mexican. Chips (fries) were also very good.

This place rocks (pun intended)! Sandwiches are good, interior is great and they did very nice job with exterior as well. Totem is looking cool at night time, two porches and 3 trash cans near the place! Which is quite unusual for Kamianets as it lacks them in general
