Made the reservation though the phone. Owner was extremely helpful and attentive with us. Gave us useful tips about Altea. The establishment was clean and neat. Had a really Spanish uniqueness decor to it. Bed was super comfortable! Great experience will come again.

(Translated by Google) Everything has been good in this accommodation! The room was ready ahead of time, which is appreciated when you come from far away. We stayed on the first floor, in a larger room than usual, if we talk about hotels. It was comfortable, spacious, clean and pleasant, it did not lack a detail. The balcony overlooked a street that leads to the promenade (now under construction) so we could see the sea. Despite being under construction and walking distance to the strip, noise was non-existent with the windows closed. The bed a 100, very comfortable, like in few hotels. They were two single beds but it had a kind of large mattress that joined the two and it seemed that it was one. It had a new television, air conditioning and a small fridge perfect for storing water and the two things from the beach. It also had an iron, courtesy water and a kettle with coffee and teas. The most complete thing I've ever seen! María super kind, contacted us by WhatsApp and explained everything in detail. Everything is computerized so you don't have to worry about a key or a card. We will definitely stay here again if we return to the Costa Blanca.

(Translated by Google) Spacious, comfortable and clean room and bathroom. I had high expectations because the photos on booking are spectacular, and the truth is it's not that big of a deal. The location is very good, close to the beach, the train station and the slope to go up to the town. The quality-price ratio is not very balanced but the average price in Altea is quite high compared to other places in Alicante.

(Translated by Google) Hostel right in front of the beach (you only have to cross a street), it is very cool and quiet, there is no reception, they send you a code to enter and you check in yourself, (super simple) the room is essential but with everything you need it is needed and very clean. And if you go towards the back you go up towards the old town, and above there are several restaurants and bars to dine or have a drink, with very cool views, and right next to it there are some streets with a lot of little shops to buy souvenirs even some shoes. (Translated by Google) The hostel is new and very clean. Furthermore, the decoration in general is wonderful, very beachy and with mosaics that gives it that Mediterranean style so characteristic of Altea. The only bad thing is that it is next to the road and you can hear a lot of noise. In addition, our room, which was number two, the windows faced the ground of one of the side streets and if you didn't remember to open the windows they could see everything. Overall, great place.

Altea Old Town is a picturesque and charming area located on a hillside overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in the Costa Blanca region of Spain. The old town is known for its stunning whitewashed buildings adorned with pink bougainvillea, creating a vibrant and colorful atmosphere, especially during the spring and summer months. Visitors can explore narrow cobblestone streets lined with antique shops, jewelry stores, art galleries, and clothing boutiques.
Lovely town with lots of artistic shops. Great vibe. Perfect for an afternoon walk and good dinner
Isabel Castellanos — Google review
Wonderful walk from the tram station up to the top of the old town where a square opened up in front of the church. Shallow steps upwards make the ascent relatively easy, many places to stop on the way up to admire the view and catch your breath. Do take care coming down as the cobble stones can be rather shiny but were fine today in dry weather. Well worth the walk up.

So happy we got to stay in Altea Old Town. What a beautiful place to visit. Bonus: great restaurants and a wonderful ‘Pastisseria’.
Thue Tomis Petersen - Tfishphoto — Google review
Lovely old town filled with restaurants, cafes, and tiny shops. It has an old church that is sitting of top with beautiful views of the Mediterranean sea. Visited on a Sunday and it was quite busy. We nevertheless had fun exploring the place and ended the day with a lunch at a Spanish restaurant looking over the blue Mediterranean sea. This place can be reached by an almost 2-hour tram ride from Alicante. Return tickets cost about $4 per person and is valid for 24 hours.

Stairs everywhere but really nice old town. The public parking is 5min walk from the old town so it’s really easy to park and walk.

Beautiful place to visit...the old town an absolute delight ...Fabulous views great little shops and a massive variety of eating places to suit all tastes..Access can be a little difficult..because of a lot of steps and all uphill..but if you cannot walk up a taxi will cost you about 5 euros from the bottom. Well worth a day out or even a stay!

Altea is one of the most beautiful places on the Costa Blanca without being one of the most well known places. It has a great beach front with many lovely restaurants but the most beautiful place is really the old town with the church square which keeps drawing us back again and again. There are a few nice restaurants and some casual tapas places for a meal or a quick bite. The church is beautiful and quite extravagant for a small place like that. Around that you have a great number of lovely little boutiques which sell some lovely clothes - at decent prices. Overall Altea is one of our favourite places to go.

However, some visitors have noted an unpleasant smell due to dogs' urine and feces found along the promenade.
Lovely, lovely pebbled beach. You need to have special shoes to swim, but the colour of water is amazing and the sea is so refreshing. Along the beach, there is a beautiful promenade with plenty of little cafes to enjoy your coffee or a meal with great views.

The Nostra Senyora del Consol church in Altea is a stunning example of architecture with its striking blue mosaic domes and breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. Located at the heart of Altea hill, it can be easily accessed by bus, tram or walk without any difficulty. Its surroundings include nice cafes and restaurants in the square, making it an ideal spot to take a quick break while enjoying a view of the church.
After the stepped walk up through the old town, the top opens out to a wide plaza. The church is the focal point of the square and is very imposing. On a clear, sunny day in March, with a cool breeze, it was a spectacular end to the ascent. Not too many people about but enough to give the area a friendly buzz/vibe. The church was free to enter and was quietly impressive. Unfortunately the museum appeared to be closed today, roped off, we would have gone in otherwise (for the small charge). I would definitely recommend.

Beautiful blue domed church at literally the heart of Altea hill offers great wide angle view of the beach and Costa Blanca mountains. Its reachable by bus, tram or even walk( which isn't sloppy or difficult). Nice cafes and restaurants in the square, great spot for a quick break with a view of the church👌
Soumya Jain — Google review
The church in Altea is situated on the top of the hill and it is surrounded by the square with the magnificent views of the sea below. I highly recommend to visit not only the church but to wander through lovely streets of this beautiful little town. Go there if you visit Costa Blanca.
Aleksandra S — Google review
The interior is quite modern, you won't find works of sacred art there, rather kitschy sculptures and music from a loudspeaker, but at least admission is free. What attracts the eye from the outside are the characteristic navy blue roof domes. What is quite unusual, the church is surrounded by bustling restaurants and bars.

Restaurant Oustau de Altea is a charming eatery that offers traditional French dishes in a setting adorned with artwork and stunning mountain vistas. Its tranquil garden adds to the overall ambiance, creating a peaceful atmosphere for diners. The restaurant has garnered praise for its attentive service, pleasant environment, and delicious cuisine. Although it may not be the most affordable option, patrons find that they get their money's worth due to the wide variety of offerings, including succulent steaks and various fish preparations.

My thoughts are shared. Menu is unique with names of dishes by moveis, serials, and movie stars. I was confused that we got a meal 3 min after order. I asked if it was from the microwave, but the waiter told us that meals were already prepared and just baked in the oven. I'm not complaining about taste,it was delicious even though the octopus wasn't the best one that I ate. Anyway, I didn't feel good to eat as soon as I got a table. No time to drink, chat, etc. Also,I was disappointed that smoking is allowed, even it's sami open space... even more close than open. Even with shared thoughts, I recommend this restaurant cause it's really unique. Btw. Prices are very reasonable.

Michelin star restaurant, very nice food and drinks, Javi looked after us very well. The place is quite busy, you might need to book a table if you want to have dinner there.
Christian Vila — Google review
Unfortunately, the food was average; it seems they are already made dishes, then reheated prior to serving. Except for the scallop dish which was cold. I made a comment to the waiter, but he did not seem to care. The dishes were served too quickly. We first asked for menus, not thru the QR code, and received copies of an old menu with dirty pages. The waiter was eager to take our order, but then, never came around to see how we were doing. I have to say that the owner was very friendly and professional; he walks around to make sure everyone is taken care of. But, it's obvious, he cannot do it all. We were really looking forward to visiting this restaurant, but soon became a disappointing experience. You would expect a better experience, especially from a Michelin restaurant.

We had the most amazing night at Oustau. Very cozy with friendly staff. Great food and drinks. When they noticed that one in our crowd did not eat the starter dish they asked why. The answer was that it just wasn’t for him but nothing was wrong with it…. They took it away immediately and came with another dish 👍 This was not expected but very much appreciated 🥰

The ambiance and atmosphere in the garden is very nice, but the food is not great. Steak was well done I ordered medium rare. Bread roll was not properly baked, grilled veggies were wet and grey. The menu card is printed out papers with a staple. Not a great experience. Very poor food. Also came 3 minutes after we ordered, makes me think…
Sabine van Diemen — Google review
The staff were amazing, very friendly and always tried to sort everything. However food is average at best. Went in expecting something delicious as they're recommended by Michelin guide, but I don't know when they got that recommendation because there's not any of that left... Tuna tartar was alright, the shrimp starter just tasted fishy, not like grilled shrimp. There was nothing that we ate that was outstanding. Steak is decent but it all seems quite basic. Cocktails quite poor.

A unique find in Altea, near the old town with delicious Indian food. The views from the rooftop terrace are amazing with a panoramic view. They even switched on the heating for my daughter as she was a bit cold on the rainy windy day we decided to visit! All the waiters are friendly and helpful. The interiors are nicely decorated and very pleasant to look at. We loved the butter naan, chicken kadai , paneer butter masala and mushroom rice. Vicky was very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. Only sad part is it was our last day in Spain so we couldn't visit it again.

A great experience! We know quite well Indian cuisine, including several times in India and this one is as good as some of the best we have been before. The paneer, the butter chicken, samosas, etc. all excellent with a great service, fast and attentive. Ricky was always there to advice us of the best plates. And the atmosphere is just one of the best, with a beautiful terrace and decoration. Will come back again!

But overall great restaurant and would definitely go back.

We’ve been here in 4 person (family) few times and will definitely come back. It’s a very nice place with very good service and delicious Indian cuisine! Last but not least - while having your lunch or dinner you can enjoy beautiful view from the top of Altea - you can admire mountains and the sea at once. We absolutely recommend! But don’t forget to make a reservation:) - especially when you’re going to sit on the terrace.

Really hard to give a certain number of stars. Food is hands down delicious. Terrace views are magnificent. But service... Idk some of us were new to Indian quisine so we didn't want to order a lot. The waiter clearly signalled to us that such small order(but it wasn't actually. three starters and tasting menu for 4 persons) is a faux pas. At the end they tried to overcharge for the dessert which is supposed do be included in the tasting menu. When I mentioned that there is a mistake in the bill, even before I finished the sentence the waiter immediately responded "yes" and quickly went to fix the mistake. I think they do that kind of staff regularly. Other reviews also mention such situations. Keep in mind that terrace seats are additionally charged 1,5eur per person. Also if you go, definitely try their 1euro starter flatbreads with three sauces Tldr: good food, amazing mango lassi, bad attitude and trying to overcharge customers.

Belgian restaurant
Mediterranean restaurant
Sabor, a Belgian restaurant located in Altea, offers a variety of delectable dishes such as bouillabaisse and beef tartare, alongside pasta and salads. The dining experience can be enjoyed either in their stylish dining room or at the terrace tables. With its well-prepared food and a bustling atmosphere filled with satisfied customers, Sabor is highly recommended. However, there is room for improvement in terms of customer service as not all patrons were greeted personally.
Very good. Service was excellent. The food was delicious and wine and drinks served as well. Can recommend to anyone.

The service was exceptionally friendly, the food well prepared and presented and of good quality. Overall I am looking for a more special 'sabor' when eating in that price range.

Fish soup is good, and apple pie also. The rest is ok!

Many local residents recommended this place. The restaurant gets pretty packed even during the week. They have a great (bit expensive) lunch menu but definitely worth it. I really enjoy all the dishes. Would recommend you try if in the area.

Quality of food and service here is absolutely superb. The staff are so helpful and professional that it is an absolute pleasure to dine here.

We were 3 persons visiting today, and I can only recommend it. The good was very well prepared. There were a lot of people, which is a good sign. Also, I was accompanied by a frequent customer. That, of course, does something with the service. But that is also why they only get 4 stars at service. If you greet one customer by hand, you should do that with the rest as well. But never the less a pleasant visit. And defently not the last time I dined there.

The beef we ate were very tender and with the ingredients that were added to each plate made it magical. Tiramisu has a different presentation.. amazing. The environment was a bit noisy but because it was booked and the decor is fresh and clean. Service was excellent even having a full house. We will return this Saturday with friends.

A perfect ice salon in a beautiful Area in Altea Old Town. Delicious ice cream and a beautiful choice in te most beautiful pastry and if your lucky you'll find your self on the terrace on the side of the building... enjoying a heavenly view. Definitely worth your visit.

Dont normally review non events but got to share todays rejection - staff disinterested and very rude in advising that this a reservations only establishment. Have previously loved Sabor - if this is the reincarnation then they have misplaced something in the move.

Lovely place, it was packed when we arrived so couldn’t sit outside but we had a view of the barman making the drinks inside which was good to watch. My sangria was deliciously boozy and only €3. We took a while to get served. At first I thought it was because the Spanish aren’t as rushed as in the English restaurants but then I realised they had just forgotten about us sitting in the corner. The menu was quite posh. I was looking for a burger but they didn’t have that so I went for the chicken. It had a great sabor although I’m unsure about the fried pineapple. Overall I had a good time at Sabor, even though the menu options weren’t to my taste.

Brasserie
Brasería Ca Joan Altea is an exceptional restaurant in the culinary scene of Altea. It offers a standout selection of char-grilled meats, particularly renowned for its beef sourced from various origins. This esteemed establishment provides a privileged experience where patrons can indulge in true gastronomic pleasure. The venue's unique dishes are further enhanced by its exquisite ambiance and setting.
The best steak.. cooked to perfection. We could only get seats on the terrace as it was fully booked. It’s nice and cosy with lots of heaters. Staff were really friendly. I will definitely go back..
Arlo MaC — Google review
Ca Joan is a non pretentious but elegant place along a driving road. You wouldn’t come here by accident. The policy is simple: only the best products are served. You come here for the meat, since they offer between the best selection of basque aged ox and cured cold cuts. But they don’t stop at that, also the fish and seafood are the freshest, the veggies come for the most from their own garden and the even the chips and the bread are top notch. Wine list is on point, focusing on Spanish reds, offering the big names but also a great selection of locals at an absolutely reasonable price. A must stop if you’re here around and wanna treat yourself!

I have been to this place a few times now. It seems to be more pretentious every time and more pricey. For me the quality and prices is no longer coherent. We paid 160€ for what you see on the picture, plus croquetas, a tuna salad, a glas of wine, a coke, a bottles of water and two g&t’s. Oh and I hate that they give you bread without asking if you want it, more because they charge you 5 € on the bill for it. There is nothing wrong with the quality of the food, but it’s overpriced. In my opinion.

First visit to the legendary Ca Joan meat club and it was fanastic on every level. Every dish well executed - from calamari to cured tuna, and for the big show unbelievable beef. Topped by one of the best cheesecakes I’ve had in a long time. Easily the best restaurant in the Altea/Calpe area

Incredible place, great service and even better food, the meat was so soft it melted in the mouth, truly outstanding

Great dinner with family at this restaurant. Food and service were excellent. It is pricey, I recommend it for special occasions only.

Nice place... If you love meat with a really good taste don't hesitate to go... it is not cheap in my opinion but it is good food. Is generally crowed, so my advice to you is call to book before going. Not too much place to park the car so take it into account.

Pizza restaurant
Italian restaurant
El Castell is a charming Mediterranean eatery that offers a variety of dishes such as tapas, pasta, and pizza. It is known for its beautiful terrace where customers can enjoy their meal. Additionally, seafood and meat options are available on the menu. El Castell has received positive reviews for its pleasant ambiance and multiple seating options including indoor dining, front terrace, and roof terrace. The location of the restaurant adds to its appeal. Customers have found the food to be satisfactory although not extraordinary.
Was recommended by a friend to try the oven baked pizzas at this diner when visiting Altea. We were directed to the indoor dining at upper level cos the outdoor seating were fully occupied. We ordered meatballs which comes with bread and this really delicious pizza (if not mistaken called Delicioza?). They also provided a chilli based olive oil which adds extra kick for the pizza, hands down one of the best pizzas we have had in awhile! Highly recommended to check this place out if you are a pizza lover, we are definitely coming back again (hopefully soon!!). We also received limoncello courtesy from the management, kudos for the excellent service 💯

super friendly service and gorgeous food. The pizza is baked in a traditional way. In addition to the pizza, you can also enjoy delicious pasta and lasagna. Wonderful location to enjoy great food and service. see you next time

Nice restaurant where you can sit outside too on the square. It's in the old part of Altea, so very nice buildings and atmosphere. Service is good, we got what we ordered and in a pleasant way. The food was good too. Salad was fresh and tasted good. The pizza tasted also nice and was made in a stone oven. In both cases the portions could be bigger. The salad should have been somewhat more and the pizza a little more topping, also in regard of the prices. For the rest everything was great. I didn't ordered the house wine, but another one and that was very nice.

Very nice surroundings and we ate a good pizza. However, the waitress wasn't friendly at all. We won't go back, there are enough other restaurants in Altea.

Great spot. I wanted a small mixed salad with my tortilla but it wasn't an option on the menu. When I asked the waiter if I could order a small salad,he didn't make any problems at all and accommodated my request which was much appreciated! The restaurant has a lovely terrace where you can sit under the orange trees. I'd recommend giving this place a go!

We came here after walking out on another restaurant for various reasons. We sat on the top terrace, got attended straight away, very friendly and attentive staff, they even helped me with putting a candle they had on my partners desert as it was his birthday. The food was delicious. Everything was good, we had a nice time and enjoyed all of it. Definitely recomend!

Too crowded, no service, pizza was not tasty at all. The one we had on a beach near Gandia was 1000 times better and had a flavor. Here I cannot even name it Pizza. Sorry.

Great pizza! Service was good! But, we were 6, finished dinner and were chatting! Waiter/manager comes to us saying we must now leave as he might need the table for others! This is highly irregular in Spain and most insulting! Will not go back for this reason! Their pizza and good is but not worthy of this kind of behavior!!!!!

We’ve been visiting here for 5 years now and we always love that place. Pizza is amazing, thin crust, very good quality of ingredients and many different options. And the best waiter in the world is Rudolf, really you’ll love this man! Thank you very much for another nice time.

I had an outstanding experience at El Castell! The food and service were excellent, with fresh and delicious pizza and salad portions that were both generous and reasonably priced. I highly recommend it. The outside terrace is a delightful spot to relax after a walk up to the old town. Inside, the ambiance is charming, with lovely decor and wide windows that offer a picturesque view of the courtyard and a beautiful orange citrus tree. A visit to El Castell is definitely worth it!

Slow service, but wasn't a problem as we weren't in a hurry. Situated in a nice location as you enter the arch to the old town. Friendly waiters. Pizzas were large, but a very thin base so the ingredients made the base a bit soggy
