Nature & Parks
Ferrera Park, also called Marquise Park, is a precious and stunning park situated in the former palace of the Marquise of Ferrera (which now functions as a hotel) in Aviles. The park was opened for public use after its purchase by the Council of Aviles in 1976. It boasts five entrances and closes at 11pm daily.
Such a beautiful and well kept park in the heart of Aviles, was lucky enough to even remotely (and ever so peacefully) work from there for a few afternoon. And stroll through the park almost every day on each visit to Aviles. Really you doing so too when around 🙂 Update AUG 2022: still “the” perfect place to Work from abroad in Aviles for the digital nomad estyle

Ferrera Park also known as the park of the Marquise (of Ferrera) it is a real jewel and an amazing park. It was part of the palace of the Marquise of Ferrera (currently a Hotel) and it was opened to the public in 1976 after being purchased by the Council of Aviles. It has 5 entries and it closes at 11pm. The park has a trail for exercise very popular, a pond very popular with seagulls, specially during rainy days and a zone for kids. The park deserves better maintenance though as you can see for the old posts, bins... It seems a lot of trees have been lost due to storms and not sure if they have ever been replaced. There is a fountain from 1887. It is an amazing space with a lot of potential if it was managed a bit better.

Excellent park that's free to enter. Nice little pond in the middle eith ducks and geese. Lots of fixtures for the kids to play on, and even access to a garden area with lots of pretty flowers & fountains. Multiple access points makes it really easy to navigate, and branch off exploring another part of the city.

I tried Tierra Astur also in Oviedo and there are the best! I am always sceptical for big menu's but in this case everything is traditional Asturiano. The portions are very big like traditional Asturianos should be, everything is super tasty , the atmosphere is unique and breathtaking and the people who work there are amazing. This place is just amazing - typical yummy food from Asturias in a cozy place (don't miss the barrels) and at a very reasonable price. Make sure you have a very empty stomach before you step in , you will need it! :)

Restaurant
Restaurante Ronda 14 in Aviles is an amazing dining destination for lunch or dinner. The quality of food, ambiance, and service are truly impressive. One must try their delicious barbecue octopus, which is a standout dish. Unlike other restaurants nearby, this place is not as crowded due to its location just off the main square. It offers the best food experience in Asturias. Additionally, they excel in serving raw fish and ceviche dishes that are favorite among patrons.
Excellent food and it was ssssssoooooo good and delicious! We had warm and good service from our waitress and the atmosphere is good too. Will definitely make a return visit in near future!

Probably one of the best bar I have ever been in Spain. Absolutely spectacular, so yummy every dish and value for price was awesome. Staff very kind. I liked the way the dare to make the fushion of peruvian food, different new flavours in every dish. Totally recommendable!!

I love raw fish and ceviche and this place really delivered! Ceviche and Tiradito were my favorite, but everything else was also very good. I want to come back to try more stuff from the menu! The only problem is, you need to make a reservation about 2 weeks (or more) in advance

Incredible place to grab lunch or dinner in Avilés. Very impressed by the food, the ambiance and the service. The barbecue octopus is a must. Location is just off the main square, so it isn’t as busy as other restaurants nearby. Likely my favourite food experience in Asturias.

Delicious foods that are a nice Spanish take on Japanese food. Their wagyu beef burger dish, although small, packs some of the most flavorful ingredients I've ever eaten. The coconut & mint dessert is really refreshing, and a wonderful way to round off dinner.

Bar & grill
Bar Restaurante Casa Lin is a highly recommended traditional Spanish restaurant in Aviles, known for its authentic atmosphere and excellent seafood dishes. The place offers a variety of local food including cider and shellfish, creating an authentic experience for visitors. Guests have praised the fresh and tasty oysters, black rice with seafood, and Arroz de Bogavante. The restaurant's service has been described as professional, friendly, and welcoming.
Seafood was really fresh. Navajas were juicy (yet some of them were a bit over-cooked and thus not that juicy).

Great waiter's attitude, top management lead and menu variety. Served meals are reduced but prices are high.

Amazing, authentic Spanish restaurant. Service was excellent and staff were welcoming. We got the paella and the portion was huge for 2 of us. It was delicious and worth the effort involved in eating it. Tools and hands necessary!

This was my favorite restaurant and a place I visited frequently while in Avilés and Asturias. Some of the best seafood I've ever had. The scallops were phenomenal!

Very much enjoyed our visit to Casa Lin. We read such great reviews here so we had high expectations. It did not disappoint. Had the Arroz de Bogavante. It's a lot of food for two two people.

Typical Asturian cider house. Going to Casa Lin is always a good choice! Very good food! Better to book, it gets crowded.

We had a very nice experience at Casa Lin. Had dinner yesterday afternoon, very nice athmosphere with a strong sense of community gathering and socialising. We have tried for first time their traditional cider, we were very pleased, especially with the way they are serving this special cider. The food is delicious, we had paella with sea food, very big portion, we weren't able to finish the dish 😋. Very friendly staff, they speak English as well, made my day, explaining the menu, giving advice about the food. Definitely we will come back. Daniel & Alina David

Asturian restaurant
Spanish restaurant
Restaurante Casa Tataguyo is a rustic taverna located on the verdant Parque del Carbayedo. This 19th-century establishment has been serving robust Asturian stews, sausages, and grills paired with regional wines since 1845. Their delectable menu features classic Asturian fare such as frills-free stews and roast lamb, as well as lighter options like cold meats, cheeses, and hearty salads.
Wonderful place. Really authentic and filled with aesthetic. Food is delicious and greatly served. Staff of the restaurant is really helpful. Although I don’t speak Spanish waiters tried to do their best to serve me dinner. Definitely will come back here when visiting Aviles again.

A little expensive (65€ for two people at lunchtime, eating a la carte) but really nice quality and professional service. You need to book to get a table in the front of house bar, otherwise you'll be in the small dining room at the back which is also fine, but less atmospheric than the bar.

It was a impulsive stop to just get food after a long week of cycling all around Asturias, but this wasn't just a place to fill our hunger needs it filled our hearts. We ended celebrating our marriage anniversary and our baby that's on the way, it was such a special place we had to change it into celebrations! We are going back to South Africa fuller, not only with a great Spanish trip memories butnthe memory of this special restaurant, the man that served us with so much patience (translating) and even the other guests that was there was lovely and THE FOOD was out of this world!!! What a way to end our Europe adventure after 2 years living abroad and ending it here. We are thankful! Absolutely lovely place!! Chris & Emri 🇿🇦

Nice authentic Asturias food. Fabes con almejas were very tasty, the only minor things to mention is that we wanted to share them and try other stuff and they charge us for two portions. But still very worth It, authentic place and good quality

A great place to eat! The restaurant has a great history and atmosphere. I don't know much about Spanish food so we started here, well worth it. I had duck steak fantastic. The only down side if you call it that, was how packed is was. However, if that many locals eat here thats saying something to.

Fine dining restaurant
Restaurante Yume in Aviles has injected new energy and innovative ideas into the local dining scene by constantly changing its menu with Asian influences. Located within the impressive Oscar Niemeyer Centre, this restaurant offers breathtaking views from every angle. The attentive and remarkable staff contribute to a delightful dining experience. The food is truly extraordinary, with each dish surpassing the previous one. A standout dessert combines apple and lavender flavors, even appealing to those without a preference for sweets.
Close to perfection! Firstly, this restaurant is in an awesome setting, being in the tower of the Oscar Niemeyer Centre in Aviles. It has spectacular views in every direction. Secondly, the staff are awesome. They make the dining experience a joy. Thirdly, the food is incredible. Every dish seems to out-do the last. The first dessert with its apple and lavender flavours was an absolute favourite and I don't have a sweet tooth. Finally the matching wines were an absolute highlight. Favourites were the Ribera del Duero red and the Galician albarino. This place definitely comes recommended!

HAUTE CUISINE WORTHY OF A MICHELIN STAR. Yume doesn't have a menu. You're served a series of surprise dishes. Which and how many depends on your appetite, preferences and allergies. We had two starters, followed by meat and fish. Every single dish was outstanding. Yume's concept is to offer creative interpretations of classic Spanish cuisine, such as revuelto de gambas, costillas and arroz. The ingredients are seasonal, locally sourced and of high quality. Every three months, the "menu" changes. The prices are surprisingly low: we paid only €35 per person for a superb five-course meal. Overall, Yume is a great restaurant for special occasions.

One of the cutest places i have been to! The interior and ambient is very nice, food is special, creative and tasty, everything is very neat and clean, the kitchen is near you and you can see and smell the process and the service is hight level!

We booked for lunch on a Tuesday, unaware that the exhibitions in the art centre were closed (note). We ordered the tasting menu and had an absolutely amazing experience. The waitress explained that they pride themselves on using the whole of a product, including skins, using dehydration and rehydration technics. The vision, expertise and skills used executing these dishes is nothing short of amazing. Coupled with the fact that the service matched the above, in a wonderful setting made for an outstanding experience. We travelled across Northern Spain for the first 2 weeks of June, seeing other towns and sampling other restaurants, which for the most part were very good, but nothing came close to the Yume experience. We look forward to booking again the next time we are in the area. Thank you...😉

2 stars since the food was very good, the rest was a bad experience. 1. We arrive with door closed and we had to call to enter. No excuses 2. Nobody takes the coats or jackets 3. we sit at a low table for a drink where we are served a sparkling white wine, without explanation and the wine is warm (not drinkable) 4. we are asked to join in the kitchen for the first dish. Eating standing with the coats and bags was not the best experience. And a kid in the kitchen at a table looking at instagram and not saying hello. 5. We get back at the table we are served wines (we asked for a menu with wines for each plate). No explanation on wines, when the owner tries an explanation is just completely wrong. 6. when a napkin falls on the floor the waiter asks if it is fine to put it back on the table or if she should change it... really? 7. During the entire experience the music was extremely loud (style reggaeton) The food is good, the place is nice however a lot of work is needed to make it a nice experience.
