Perfect atmosphere, service and food! We orerded the Rigatoni with shrimps and it was really delicious! The service was outstanding, friendly and professional! Last but not least, I loved the background music as it was super romantic 80ies soft rock ;)

Really good food, budget friendly prizes and friendly service. We ate bruschetta as a starter and it was perfect. Carbonara was under 12 e and drinks were also cheap. Beautiful and nice place. Definetly restaurant worth of visit.

Wonderful dining experience, the staff made us so welcome and the food was delicious. If you like ginger leave room for the ginger creme brulé, it was absolutely delicious. Loved the well cooked steak. We will definitely be back soon

Symposium delivers on every aspect off a dining experience you would expect when on a vacation, the food is delightful and the portions are sensible sized. The service is very awake and aware, they are different than a lot of other restaurants in the way that they actually seem intrigued by you as a guest and not only a customer. A Special thanks to Angelina who I must say was a treat talking to. The whole table agreed that she really made the evening just that little extra special. We will be back! 😊

My family and I returned to dine at this restaurant after 5 years. I can honestly say, that the service, food and atmosphere are exactly what we thoroughly enjoyed and remembered experiencing from the past. It was my sons 18th birthday and Angelina, the waitress helped incredibly to ensure that we had a wonderful time and she was a delightful young lady. My son was sung to and treated to a birthday dessert. What a memorable and heart warming way to end our evening. Thank you so much to the manager and other staff for giving us such fantastic customer service and making us feel welcomed, valued and appreciated. We, of course, will recommend you to our friends, family and loved ones, and look forward to dining again at the restaurant, as the food was divine and most definitely worth the money.

We ate here on the first night of our two week holiday. We were really impressed with the food and the service, probably started at the more ‘fine dining’ end of the food available in Platanias, but it’s certainly with a visit! Traditional food served in a modern and contemporary way, whilst keeping traditional flavours alive.

Even though there was a power outage in Platanias when we were there, the chefs still managed to cook our food to perfection somehow! Staff were very attentive during our meal and the decor and atmosphere was also very nice.

Kind of "upper class" feel to it. Fantastic food. My stuffed chicken and mash was really, really impressive. The taste and portions were just... right. It was so good. Loved it, will be back.

Beautiful setting and well decorated all around, the food was presented nicely but was pretty under seasoned I know theres salt and pepper on the table but I think this should be handled in the kitchen, it got a little bit busy and then we found difficult to get anyones attention to pay the bill.

A perfect panorama view out over Platanias. Staff was friendly and almost everything we ordered came very fast. There was a small hiccup in the order process and they missed an order for one us, so that came a little later (but we didn't have to pay for that portion). Everything was nice and tasteful. But in the end of our meal they emptied our table so fast that it felt like we were being "thrown out" which kinda ruined the mood 😑

We visited this restaurant three times in one week. Chicken souvlaki so good we had to go back and get the exact same dish a couple of days later. While there, I saw some other guest having the salmon pasta so I obviously had to go back to get that on a third night. My fiance had the chicken gorgonzola gnocchi, also delicious. Couldn't get enough of the view either. Lovely staff.

Excellent restaurant. Best views over Platanias with amazing food. Food is a bit more expensive than in some restaurants down in the village but still very reasonable prices. Watching the sun set while eating delicious dishes is worth experiencing. Customer service is also brilliant. Everyone are super friendly.

Good food and good service. The go-to place for your sunset dinner with the incredible view. All in all nice, fancy and neat, but apart from the view we didn't experience that something extra, that would've elevated the experience from good to awesome.

This amazing panoramic view resturent was our last stop in Crete before we left. It is a family run business. The owner greeted us himself and seated us in a table to watch the sunset behind the mountains. The food menu is very creative and considered Gourmet with a sophisticated crafting of the dishes in a colorful and imaginative way. The dishes taste as good as the looks. The stuffed grapevines are a favorite of mine and comparing to others I have tasted across the island this was the tastiest. The duck meat dish is also very tasty. The Slovakia and the octopus out of this world. Highly recommended place that you must go to if you are ever in Rethimno.

We were looking for a good view and I think we found it. When we came, it was almost full, but we got a table upstairs, but not close to the edge. The waiter said we would be moved to the edge as soon as possible, and we only needed to wait for 10min. We ordered a starter and mojitos to begin and it came really quick. We had the recommended lamb shank for main as it was straight from the oven. The food tasted really good, great portions and excellent service with a good view!

Cosmos restaurant is stunning in every way. The view is the best on the hill you can see the sun setting on the left. The food menu is modern and delicious. Beautiful wine and cocktails. The owner is also super friendly, we stayed next door and he helped us access the property. This restaurant is a must visit but make sure you reserve as it gets super busy.

After arrival, we were brought to the roof terrace with a beautiful view over Platanias and were offered some drinks. Sadly, we waited over 45 minutes until someone asked us if everything is okay and that our dinner table inside is ready, which we were not aware that this is a thing there. We were a bit confused to be honest that no one gave us a dinner menu or something like that. This process of informing the guests when the table is ready could really be optimized. Besides that, after we got to the table, the service was really fast, caring and kind. We got our dishes quickly and it was very tasty.

The view, the food, the service, high level of everything! Really price worthy. So glad that we booked a table here for tonight, it’s worth a visit if you’re in Platanias.

Brilliant food and an outstanding view. Service was exceptional, very hospitable, one of the few places in chania/Platanias that sold whispering angel, perfect wine to watch the sun set. We had the fish balls, tzatziki and octopus to start, they were all very authentic Greek dishes and did not disappoint on taste. For main we had chicken and gnocchi as well as the chicken souvlaki, tasted really good (big portions!!) to finish we had the cacao mousse which came with complimentary glasses of Moët. All in all the service was outstanding and the food delicious

So far, we have only been to their beach front and consumed exclusively drinks. But those were nice! Cocktails are very nice here - perfect to slurp them right on the beach while the kids are playing in the water. Café Freddo and Frappé are exquisite. Today's Aperol Spritz was one of the best balanced Aperols of Kolymvari. We should come and eat here.... Service is always perfect and friendly. Spot on! By the way: their sunbeds are the best and most comfy in town! Free of charge, if you get a drink. Or two... ;)

This place is Michelin level. Grilled Octopus and the Rabbit Stew were my selections and both completely delicious. The seafood salad, lamb shank were also superb. Wine selection is wide and the owner’s friendly service and suggestions made our visit both memorable and recommendable!

Really Really enjoy our lunch here. Nice and polite staff with a welcome drink that they offer at the begging. You could stay at the beach have something to drink and then move up at the restaurant in a very cozy environment. Very tasty dishea especially the seafood. We definitely come back again.

This was the fifth restaurant I visited during this trip and the first place that did every course with a twist - in a good way. Mushrooms with feta and truffel oil was excellent and seafood pasta tasted as good it looked. I felt like this place would deserve extra star for food, service and atmosphere. 6/5 ♥️

Great meal. Fantastic service. We were welcomed with a glass of fizz each on arrival and given personal recommendations from the menu. Food was incredible and very well presented. Lots of meat, fish and veg options so something to suit everyone. Very attentive staff who put the heaters on for us and checked in to make sure everything was ok for us without being intrusive. Complementary dessert after our main was really nice and a shot of local Raki to finish off the night was an experience! Highly recommend

Wonderful service at the Old Mansion. Having eaten here on numerous times during our recent visit to Crete, we could not recommend this place more. The menu is varied and all is delicious. For fish lovers the white bait comes highly recommended and I loved the Cretan risotto - thank you very much for such a warm welcome to the owner and his family. We look forward to seeing you again next year

Great location by the sea! The food is exceptional. Cretan cuisine with a twist. High quality of first ingredients! The portions are more than enough. Highlight of the place is its winelist. You should not miss it!

Went here because of the nice reviews. The location is great, right by the sea. The drinks were also good. However, the mushroom pasta (which was recommended to me as a vegetarian dish) was so-so. It wasn’t bad, but it felt like something you’d order from a fast food place. My boyfriend ordered a traditional meat pie which was a bit more pricy, and he wasn’t too pleased with that either.

Great place to relax and have something to eat by the sea. Highly recommend a very interesting bottle of wine from Anatolikos Vineyards: fermented and aged unfiltered with indigenous yeasts, not the normal commercial stuff you usually get. You can see the residues inside the bottle. It’s called Orange because of the colour. Drink it like what wine was like thousand of years ago. Apricot on the nose, honey, apricot, pineapple and orange peel on the palate. Food is ok, to get honest nothing really stands out, but service is excellent. Great value for money too! It really is a hidden gem! Food 7/10, service 9/10, ambience 8/10, value for money 9/10.

Very kind staff and very good food; If you like your beef raw, they know how to serve it! If you prefer it cooked they can probably do that too, but I won’t have a good beef destroyed to test that :) Overall a good experience, not a restaurant for when you’re in a hurry, but one for enjoying the sea breeze wether at night or by midday. I promise the staff did by no means coerce me into writing this

We went here our first day on our one-week vacation and probably had the majority of all our breakfasts, lunches, and dinners here after that. We fell in love with the place immediately! The service is fantastic, the food amazing and the view so beautiful. Everything to good prices. They also have sunbeds so you could stay here for the whole day and both enjoy the food and the sun & sea. We will definitely come back to Crete and of course to Kyano. //Sofia & Ida

Definitely read my review before coming here The food arrived very late. Only a few French fries were served, was there a need to be so stingy? The chicken was not cooked sufficiently, very dry, with insufficient seasoning, tasteless and unsalted. I'm still hungry, I feel like I haven't eaten. If I was starving, I wouldn't eat here again.Even the bill came so so late oh my god..

One of the best restaurants in the area! During our stay in Crete, we went here twice and both times we had a great experience! The service is great and friendly, always trying to help you to make a good choice in food and drinks. I would advise to check their wine card because they have a wide range of different wines.

Absolutely perfect location next to the beach, amazing sea view. Relaxing athmosphere, excellent service and delicious food. We ate there three times, tasted tuna, sardines, moussaka, sea bass etc., can't be any better! Definately we will visit again.

Very nice, spacious and relaxing place, with a beautiful view over the sea. Guys are very kind and friendly. About food, you can have a good choice between meat and fish, and you can discover some traditional Greek dishes. For that I have eaten (in particular, traditional food), I can say that all the flavors and ingredients are prepared with care and attention. I recommend the place.

We came here for a quick dinner. We got the calamari and garlic bread with oregano and olive oil. Both were amazing and portions were great. For the main we got the greek pizza which was okay, nothing special and lacked some flavour. We also got the Kleftiko lamb again lacked flavour and it was not good to eat. It is essentially lamb in stew with cheese on top. Service was good and was reasonably priced. Just did not like the mains.

The prices are good and the quality of food and services excellent. We were eating 2 times at the restaurant and they made us feel special. One of the best place in Platanias and maybe Crete!

A beautiful place with delicious food and attentive staff. This was the absolute best dinner so far. Our daughter had the steamed mussels and they were perfect in a very tasty broth. My husband had the avocado and prawns for starters, myself had the sea bass ceviche. And then, we had the seafood pasta and tuna. Absolutely delicious! And the wine recommendation, finally we got the opportunity to taste a really good Cretan wine. This is something else. We’ll be back!

We stayed at the Marika hotel and went to waves for our first night in Platanias as it was located in the hotel. The view and scenery of the restaurant are gorgeous! When we arrived we ordered a bread basket, and for starter we ordered a mushroom tart. It took about 25-30 minutes until the bread basket arrived with the mushroom tart. We would expect the basket to arrive pretty soon after ordering it. The bread also seemed like something you could get frozen from a grocery store and the presentation was not that appealing. The tart seemed to be straight from the oven as it was pretty hot, but it was way too much crust compared to filling. However the taste of the filling was good. We were still chewing the last bit of our starter/bread when they came with our main course and asked if we were done. We expected to get some time in between to let the food settle. For the main course we ordered a Greek salad and moussakas. The portions were big and the vegetables seemed fresh. The moussaka tasted good, but it was very greasy and the potato/other filling ratio was leaning towards more potatoes. It is a beautiful restaurant, but don’t know if we would go there if it wasn’t for us staying at the hotel. The pricing is also fair, but some starters were a bit expensive. We also wish there were more Cretan/Greek items for starters on the menu.

Really amazing food, and a lot of it too for quite a reasonable and kind price! Staff were very polite and ensured the wine glass was never empty! Very cozy place, and looking at the quality of food, the price is quite low! Very satisfied. Also beautiful view of the ocean and the cave across from the beach. Pictured is the Jack Daniel's Burger, really juicy and tasteful. Couldn't finish as it was so much! My mother tried one of the Greek traditional dishes and was very pleased!

Unbelievable... From the friendly staff and breathtaking views to the fabulous food and incredible desserts, everything here is fantastic! We've been in Crete for 2 weeks, and our kids demanded we come back here for our last night on the island... Of course we were NOT going to say no to that! Also, I highly recommend the chocolate/salted caramel dessert... Seriously, I'd come back to Crete just for that!

Just by the beach, nice and comfortable with big fans to cool you off. We were perfectly satisfied with the lamb chops and briam. Prepared with care and skill, lots of flavour and perfectly sized for a main course.

Pretty accomodating food was good price moderate due to it being by the beach and is part of the hotels. Garlic Bread was delicious, wasn't too fond of the sauages a bit overpowering, Chicken on a stick one was a little undercooked, Lamb was good altough small. At the end Raki and a basket of fruit is on the house. All in all good just wish they had desserts. Recommend the American Burger if you have the stomach for its really big. Next time ill get that.

Our favourite lunch spot in platanias with the best ocean view and friendly staff. Have tried the sandwiches, pizzas, salads and pasta here and they were all very tasty. The feta cheese on the club sandwich instead of regular cheese is a nice touch.
