Lovely museum ,we'll worth the visit, model trains on too nice cafe there too called bromellys

After a warm welcome we were surprised by a lot of rooms with many different stuff about various topics related to Barnstaple and North Devon. The nice thing is, that, if you are in company with different interests, the whole party will probably enjoy the visit because of the variety. So, if you are in the neighborhood, just visit this museum (free entrance)
Ed Stekelenburg — Google review
We visited the museum during a trip to Barnstaple. Entry is free, and upon arrival you'll be greeted by museum staff / volunteers - you can then follow the route round the museum. For the kids, they will give you a little sheet of questions of things to find out in each room (you can hand this in on completion for entry to win a book). On the ground floor (or about half way round museum) there is a small cafe for refreshments. The museum also has loos (a must with the kids!) and a temporary exhibit room (which on our visit was a more hands on for kids thing about wildlife). A great museum and well worth a visit if in the area!!
Andrew Cartwright — Google review
Absolutely brilliant small museum. Love the local focus, and my son's really enjoyed the model railway. One of the attendants spent quite a lot of time showing it to my son's, which they loved. Nice photo exhibition upstairs.
Jonathan Legg — Google review
From Saxon times to the Great War. And everything in between chronicling the History of the local area in and around Barnstaple. Great little museum that is free to visitors and just out of the town by the old bridge. Covid regulations adhered to and hello arrows pointing the 1 way system. Lovely friendly warm welcome by staff and if you don't have the NHS app you can sigh in for track and trace. The displays are fantastic and they have done an amazing job in such a small area, this place could fill a much bigger space with soo much on display at the moment.

Fantastic little museum. It may be small in size but there’s lots of different things to see. Ideal for adults and children. Something for everyone. Highly recommend.

First time visiting, some really good, well thought out displays, very interesting. Would recommend a visit.

If anyone is interested in Britain's History from past and Barnstaple town North Devon, history. You must visit this revamped museum. It is brilliant, well laid out and superb artifact's from past. Also a cosy area to sit drink and eat light meals. Not forgetting a well stocked shop. Very clean as well. Free entrance.

This is a great local museum. My own interest is ceramics and they have a a fantastic collection of Devon slipware. The local history area of the museum is also very comprehensive esp the arts and craft furniture manufacturing with lots of examples. Nice spacious tea rooms with great homemade cakes !
Nick Sissons — Google review
An unexpected delight thoroughly enjoyed my visit there and learnt so much. Will definitely be giving the museum another visit.
Glyn Laffan — Google review
We visited while we were on holidays in Devon. We particularly enjoyed the art by Clive Cobb and our kids took part in the art workshop run by Nicole. We also went around the museum and did the little quiz for kids. The wildlife exhibition was very informative. A perfect day out for us. We wished we had more time to spend in the museum!

Barnstaple, a town in North Devon situated about 34 miles northwest of Exeter, is proud to claim the title of the oldest borough in the United Kingdom. Nestled in the picturesque River Taw valley, it has a rich history dating back to the compilation of the Doomsday book and even had its own mint. However, one aspect that may not sit well with some is their approach to commuter parking.
Quite a busy car park, especially on a Saturday, but you can usually find a space to park.
LINDA SCOTT — Google review
Nice little station for trains from Exeter to Barnstaple, car park with free waiting for 20 minutes, toilets and cafe on site though both were closed when I came to pick someone up.
Antony Socrates — Google review
It's a car park for Christ's sake.
K22 MDL — Google review
Great, but only 2 disabled parking bays. One driver without a disabled badge parked in one of them. I couldn't see if the other car had a badge displayed or not. However, other spaces were empty and close by.
Sophie Turner — Google review
Nice car park plenty of room
David Lloyd — Google review
Always space but l don't like the fact that they cash in on commuters. Price per day dramatically goes down after 10am. I don't commute but like to go on the 08.43 from Barns to Exe. To get a reduced rate you would need to wait until the 10.43.

Clean, well managed park. Price is standard but you can book in advance for a discount, making planning well worth it. Staff handle noncompliance well and politely. Good for all ages. Not huge but still lots of activities. Cafe Free shoe lockers Free parking Music not overly loud All in all worth a visit but book in advance for a discount.

Very good place for a rainy day visit. My kids had a great time. A bit smaller than I was expecting but still loads of fun. Kids would visit again. Staff were helpful and friendly. Venue looked clean.
Ryan Collins — Google review
boring. parents just sit there watching people jump around the place. my kids came out crying as one landed on the grey bits and my other kid got so bored! my third kid came out the place saying it was so boring. slushies we're alright though. we all agree mcdonald's was better. 🥰
Leighton Gillson — Google review
Staff chose to not refill the air bag to save time between sessions. This resulted in two friends becoming injured when landing in the air bag, despite them following all safety procedures. On a positive note there is a decent amount of trampolines and the cafe has a nice selection of drinks.
Marie Morrissey — Google review
My daughter wanted to go for her ninth birthday with just her cousin and the pair of them had a wonderful time. It was on a Wednesday evening and was so quiet they had pretty much all the facilities to themselves. Everything was clean and of great quality and they had a ball!
Karen Bryson — Google review
Whilst not my idea of a fun hour, my kids and their friends had a fantastic time. Sessions start on the hour and there are enough different things to keep them busy. Cafe and seating area are good, they host kids parties but also offer 'proper' trampolining coaching.
Alaric Wood — Google review
Used air exstream Barnstaple for my sons birthday party 21 kids total, £350 We booked this as advertised turn up and bounce we do the rest, how wrong were we zero guidance for the kids the staff did absolutely nothing,at the end of there jump over the speaker they just said jump oven no other instruction to come back up for food, no staff dealing with party the only thing we did not have to do was cook the food, we gave the food out to the children went got sauce etc did the cake cut it at the table, I felt like I was a member of staff cleaning up spills from children not in our party, if your looking for a expensive stress filled party and be told to turn up 30 min early this is the place for you, other than that I would not recommend a large party here,
Laura Holloway — Google review
Great extreme trampolining for kids and those that are young at heart. Clean, well run and uncrowded. Cubbies to store your belongings while you jump. Cafe selling a range of treats but no alcohol. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The Queen's Theatre is a renovated venue that offers an art gallery space, foyer bar, and all-day cafe/bar. It is located in a small town and provides comfortable seating with unobstructed views in the auditorium. The staff members are friendly, and the beer prices are reasonable at the clean bar. Visitors can also find convenient parking nearby.
Great theatre. Saw The Ukulele orchestra of Great Britain yesterday evening, (11-6-22), excellent show, very funny, talented people. Good seats were available, but, with the layout of the seating in the theatre, I don't think there is such a thing as a bad seat.
Jim Stringer — Google review
First time here for many years . A group of us went to see Forbidden Nights. We had a great time the atmosphere was brilliant the theatre seats comfortable and the service was good.
Suzanne Hooper — Google review
Good local theatre. Went to watch some stand up comedy. Really funny. Cold beers at the bar, even colder ice cream at the intermission. Comfy chairs and plenty of leg room. Good acoustics and lighting.

It is a lovely theatre we had a fantastic night.

Great small local theatre. Free parking after 6pm in the nearby car park. They seem to have a good range of entertainment.
Louise — Google review
For a small-ish town theater I was pleasantly surprised. The bar (that I sat in before the performance) was very clean, the beer was reasonably priced (for such a place) and the staff very pleasant. The actual auditorium was comfortable with an uninterrupted view. Nearby parking is also available.
Mike Hardy — Google review
Usual caveat ... depends upon what show you see! 30/3/2023 was Tom Allen. Very good show in a small, well maintained venue. Tiny, low-staffed bar delays buying at intervals so order in advance. Reasonable range of drinks but Pepsi rather than Coke!
Ian Scoble — Google review
Lovely theatre...seats more comfortable and wider than most London theatres. The rake in the stalls was also great so even at the back you had a clear view of the stage. However, need to look at toilet situation. 2 ladies' loos on the ground floor is ridiculous. Similarly, in the interval, more than 1 place selling ice creams, please!!!
Jos Holmes — Google review
This occasion, it was the Boxing Day Panto Sleeping Beauty. The cast and performance were excellent. The theatre is only small but somewhere we have been many times and will go again.
Sundance630 Mobile — Google review
I love going to the theatre and Queens Theatre is great. My only criticisms are regarding the bar. Firstly, they don't offer good quality mixers such as Fevertree or London Essence, which don't have nasty chemicals or artificial sweeteners. Secondly you can take your drink into the auditorium but you can't take your mixer bottle because it is glass. Whilst I understand the reason, why not stock a mixer like Fevertree which also comes in cans and avoid the glass problem altogether?
Nicola Poulier — Google review
We saw the tribute band to the bee gees called Jive Talking and I've got to say they were awesome the whole place was rocking, what a great band and what a great night.
Stephen Rook — Google review
Accessible with parking around the corner, a wetherspoons opposite. Staff are pleasant and efficient. Not the largest or most comfortable theatre and not fantastic for shorter people (not tiered enough) but that's not unusual! However it is a great asset to our community!
Louise Daniels — Google review
We went to see the Illegal Eagles. Due to a medical issue we had to leave at the beginning of the 2nd half of the show, but the staff were on the ball and helped quietly and efficiently. The Theatre is very comfortable and well worth a visit if you fancy a show 🙂

Family restaurant
Table Table Barum Gate is a trendy pub that offers a variety of classic international dishes, grilled options, and burgers. During lunchtime, the service was prompt and the food exceeded expectations. The stack burger stood out as particularly delicious. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the generous portions that satisfied an entire family. Additionally, it was noteworthy to receive a military discount, which is uncommon nowadays.
Myself and my boyfriend booked a last minute table here tonight and we were so impressed with the staff. They truly shone. Special mention to Gaynor, who gave us a really warm welcome and showed us to our table and Brook who was our waitress. She was so friendly, with a lovely smile. We will definitely be coming to see you again. Keep being you!
leanne mcintyre — Google review
Next to the Premier Inn and as you'd expect. However when I booked they asked if there were any requests. I asked to not be sat by a door. We were sat 6 foot from the door. The air con was blowing cold to add to that and it was uncomfortable. Asked to move, no problem, sorted. Food was good, well cooked and a decent size. Decaf coffee was atrocious, at best instant and very poor indeed. A poor end to the evening.
Derek Macphail — Google review
Arrived it was a ghost town, took at least 5 minutes if not more for a member of staff to greet us, the couple said behind said it's always like this... Allergy menu absolutely spot on and really helpful in regards to catering to it. Staff were friendly and very helpful. I was quite cold but we had been sat near a door.
Abie — Google review
Food was very basic and they missed out a number of items on each dish - no avocado, salsa or soured cream on the fajita burger, no coleslaw and salad on the smothered chicken dish, and no salad or tomato on the gammon. I mentioned that the avocado didn’t taste fresh - had a mouldy taste to it, and was told that they use frozen avocado hence the mushy consistency. Service very slow even though the restaurant was only half full. The kids food was good and good value too but would not recommend for adult mains.
Laura — Google review
Hmm where is the salad? How long have the chips been sitting around like the ribs? Gross. Asked if I wanted any other sauce and never came back. I’ve asked for the bill and 30 mins later still waiting yet the place is practically empty.
Joe Ward — Google review
Waited over half an hour at table. To find out there was no table service. So went to bar ordered the food and drinks. Waited another half hour at the table had to go up to the bar to collect the drinks ourselves. Waited another half hour for the food. Very small portions of semi cold. Food. Some of the staff very rude. Very disappointed as have been coming for over ten years. Will not be returning again . Definitely would not recommend to anyone
Darren Parker — Google review
Needed to feed my kids before their school play so popped in Barum gate for a quick bite. We were greeted by Gaynor, who was an absolute delight, and she helped us sort our order quickly and made sure the food arrived as soon as possible! She went above and beyond in regards to customer service and, despite the fact I was in a rush, I felt so relaxed and my kids had a great time! They loved their food and we will back again in a few days thanks to Gaynor's welcoming attitude!

Smothered chicken from their main menu. £11.99. Absolutely delicious 😋. We dined about 4.30, really easy to get a table. Quick meal service too.
LINDA SCOTT — Google review
Visited at Lunch time, was a fairly quick service and the food was pretty damn good! The stack burger was pretty good! Was a good price too considering how much food the family had, also managed to get military discount which seems to be a rarely seen these days. If I'm in the area will most likely visit again. Was good for a meal out with no fuss or hesitation on booking a table.

Popped in last minute, but they found us a table. Our waitress was friendly, highlighting special offers on the menu.
Nicola Holmes — Google review
This place is never going to be the best food you've ever eaten but its always hot, filling, satisfying and good value for money and the staff are friendly. A real shame that the servers have to take the heat from moaning customers because half the food on the new menu hasn't actually been delivered to the kitchen yet! Felt very sorry for them having to constantly explain the items they don't have, not their fault at all!
Benjamin McLeod — Google review
The restaurant was clean, staff attentive and quick service. It was lunch time on New Year’s Eve so we got to make the most of the Christmas themed menus too! Everyone was happy with their meals even the fussy eaters. The highlight was the amazing desserts… I recommend the banoffee cheesecake! Thank you to the team at table table!
Amber Jenkins — Google review
I went with my family for Mother’s Day and I wish we didn’t. We were sat right next to an external door, every time someone opened the door we were cold, we had to sit the whole time with our coats on. Both my boys had smothered chicken burger. They said it was very nice but very few chips. My husband and I wanted a roast and were told we couldn’t have it, this was 6:30pm although it didn’t say it was unavailable on the menu. My husband had hunters chicken and asked to swap the garlic bread and salad with chips and peas, this came wrong, however, the waitress changed it.
Christine Bailey — Google review
Had a nice lunch with our noisy kids. All staff were friendly and attentive, shout out to Gaynor. It was the first time in as long as I can remember that the kids' meals didn't come out nuclear hot and were ready to eat. Nothing worse than having the kids melt down because they are sat staring at food they can't eat, waiting for it to cool down. Price didn't break the bank, which was an added bonus. Will certainly go again.
John Craig — Google review
Went for breakfast on Christmas Eve, the service was shocking, when we arrived our table was set up with insufficient seats for the booking, we asked for more seats, to be told they were all taken, we had booked, and the error was theirs, these things happen, but instead of offering to sort it out, the "man" behind the bar said "you don't have to eat here" not what I expect from a customer faced job role! Eventually a more helpful member of staff sorted us out, but to be honest they had over booked and weren't able to cope with the food needed to deal with the number of customers waiting for food to come out from the kitchen, when the scrambled egg finally came out the queue had several people in it, and enough scrambled egg for 2!!! The food was tasty, just painfully slow Not the best experience I've had here
Karen Keville — Google review
Staff are lovely and looked after us good choice of food great cocktails
Gaynor Agnew — Google review
I looked at the reviews before coming here and to be honest if wasn't convenient we would have gone elsewhere. Well I was wrong we has a fabulous pub dinner, nothing fancy just a nice meal. It was all laid out very covid compliant and nice and clean. The staff see I was struggling to walk so they freed up a table close by. One tiny complaint our waitress rushed us although it wasn't busy. Thanks i was in a lot of discomfort but you made the evening for me. Just one thing the meal deal is definitely worth but be careful because they have some really cheap deals anyway.

A return visit to a favourite haunt, booking strongly recommended, but Sunday night not too busy. Great setting, good food. Shame they'd run out of Atlantic Pale Ale yesterday. Sirloin, Bass and house salad with icecream trios+clotted cream. They do a peanut butter and jelly cocktail drink which we didn't fancy one little bit !!!! Updated a year later on, in April 2024. Still good, service slightly slow. Sirloin again and grilled salmon, icecream trio for both of us. Doombar. Outside covered in scaffolding but inside decor still excellent

Recently went here with my husband, in-laws and children. We had an early table so the restaurant was lovely and quiet. Staff were friendly, attentive and great with the children. The food was outstanding - the pancakes sounded a bit odd on the menu but boy were we wrong ! They tasted lovely - the fajitas were great too. We would highly recommend this restaurant if you want good quality food with friendly staff to serve you. It is little pricey but worth it!

Located in Barnstaple, this welcoming pub with its spaced-out tables and masked bar staff ensures a safe environment for patrons.
We had the best experience eating at this inn. Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating despite it being very difficult to secure a table due to the inn’s popularity - definitely book as there will not be room if you just show up, as we found out on our first attempt! The food was fresh, homemade, well cooked and presented and very quick to arrive. We were tended to very well in terms of being checked up on and provided drinks and enjoyed our visit from start to finish. Beautiful pub with top notch food a theme of us travelling around Devon. Plenty of choice on menu and Pub Classic Board Had the Thai Spiced Soup to start and a Chicken Caesar Salad was bloody beautiful. Service was excellent. Dog friendly Another classic pub to visit we will be back.
Derek Rutherford — Google review
Booked based on previous good reviews but this was not reflective of our meal. Having checked more recent reviews it seems others have had similar experiences with the rude and patronising manager. Having ordered the ribs from the specials board, they arrived and looked as though they'd been reheated with BBQ sauce piled on top. The ribs themselves were poorly cooked and over half was pure gristle. Chips also seemed to be from frozen and onion rings were soggy. I normally avoid complaining, but my partner found the waiter and politely explained the disappointment. The manager then came to the table and was incredibly patronising, explaining that I had probably just not had 'proper' ribs before. In doing so, he also admitted that the ribs had actually been cooked the day before. After being told why we were in fact incorrect, he then asked 'what we wanted him to do about it?'. As people who would never usually complain, at this point the whole situation felt so uncomfortable that we just wanted him to leave the table. We asked younger waiter for the bill, but had to go to the bar to the manager to pay by card. Only after we had paid the full bill, he offered 'sorry you had a bad experience'. There seems to be a common theme in negative reviews of the manager placing blame elsewhere. My partner's curry was nice, but the above interaction had ruined the meal and evening by that point.

Love old country pub with superb food and friendly staff. Welcomed with a smile by the staff, nice selections of drinks, ciders, beers, lagers and wines. The fine dining foods were lovely, we had risotto and thai curry, after a lovely starter, the portions were just right. We moved into the comfy seats by the bar after our meal and had a drink. Staff were happy with this. Nice garden with plenty of seats and huge car park over the road.

We always visit this wonderful fish restaurant when on holiday in Devon. In my opinion it can’t be bettered anywhere in the country. Everything about the cod and chips is perfection. Lovely tasty white cod fillet which flakes showing it is very fresh, the lightest, crispest batter and great thick cut chips. It is all cooked with the minimum of grease left on the finished meal. To finish, the banana fritter is to die for! The portions are generous and the food is not over priced. Service is quick friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back!

Our first visit and we was very impressed. Cod chips and curry sauce was absolutely amazing. The batter was so light and crispy almost tempura type batter. Please give this awesome chippy a try. You'll be hooked. We are and we'll be back very soon.

Always been a regular here, but unfortunately they have been struggling to cope with the rush lately and as a result the food quality and portion sizes have suffered. This was supposed to be a large chips (which we share) and it didn’t even fill the tray. And unsure of what those black bits were. Shame, you used to be the best and amazing at it. Just because you’re busy, you can’t cut portion sizes and charge the same! (or more, as recent price increase) oh well… hopefully you can improve again.

An absolute gem in Barnstaple, Pelican - Fish and Chips is likely the best spot in town! Prepare to be wowed by their delicious offerings. The place gets bustling, so booking a table is a must. Don't miss the chance to savor their fantastic fish and chips experience

Have always been happy with the food from here but not tonight. Ordered a large cod with curry sauce. The curry sauce was nice enough but the large cod was the same size as a regular sized cod from other establishments and the batter wasn't as good as it used to be. Disappointed.

First time visit to the Pelican and it certainly won't be our last. The food was delicious and the staff are extremely friendly. Would highly recommend you book as it does get very busy especially on Friday's.

Not bad fish and chips; I’ve been destroyed for quality fries (chips) in Belgium and Australia, so found the fries (chips) here a little moist. Fish was nicely cooked however. Cajon Salmon was nice-portion was a little less then I would have liked. Very friendly staff. Joint Obviously loved by the locals.

Cedars Inn is a charming country retreat nestled in three acres of beautiful gardens, located just outside Barnstable and within a 20-minute drive from Exmoor National Park. The inn features comfortable and modern bedrooms housed in quaint chalet-style buildings that offer a loft-living experience. Guests can enjoy a varied breakfast menu, which is cooked to perfection, as well as the delicious dishes served at the conservatory restaurant/bar.
The cedars in is set in a fabulous gardens. Loads of outside beer garden areas. Reception has julie who is fabulous, grets with a smile, talks like shes known you for a long time. Great way to be with people. The bar and food were exceptional.

I definitely felt there was a good range of options on the menu. Also, good choice of drinks. The venue is far enough off the road to ensure you're not disturbed by the non stop 24/7 traffic on the busy road outside. Staff work hard and are very polite.

Was not taking walk-ins. Nothing on the website about this. Was told they didnt have enough cooks in or staff although there were very few people in the restaurant. The manager was exceptionally rude to my friend and drinks are very expensive. We ended up going to New Amsterdam in the town centre and having a great tike for a fraction of the cost!

Fantastic Christmas Day 2023. Thanks to all the chefs and staff and especially Tracey for being so patient and accommodating with the late booking. Food was lovely and plentiful and the table in the conservatory was decorated beautifully. Great job!

My sister stayed overnight 😊. Myself - I was one of many for a celebration of the life of my beautiful Bigladdad xx. We used a function room - doors opening onto lovely gardens. Food good variation. Hot drinks "on tap". Nice bar. THANK YOU ❤ Apparently they do lovely weddings 😘

Stayed here for 3 nights in January. Bedroom was lovely, well presented and modern. Chalet style buildings were quaint and the upstairs rooms felt like you were "loft-living". Breakfast menu was varied and cooked well. We dined there in the evening as great menu, too. Staff were lovely and made you feel very welcome. Recommended.

My friend and I have just spent 3 nights B & B at the Cedars and were very impressed by the welcoming staff and cleanliness. All the staff went the extra mile especially Laura our scottish waitress and Carl the chef who gave my friends 2 little dogs a sausage each! We had a couple of evening meals whilst there and enjoyed them very much. We would highly recommend as we most certainly will return. For the money we paid it was excellent value.

Really didn't enjoy our food this visit, we both had the Sunday lunch, my meat was chewy. And our Yorkshire puddings was very over done. We had to ask for extra gravy as the meal was dry, definitely wasn't worth the £15.50 for mine and £16 paid for my husband's 3 meat roast!! Would definitely avoid that meal in future and visit somewhere that provides a carvery instead.. would definitely be more value for money!

Called in yesterday for dinner order was taken from a very jolly young girl. Drinks and food was served and from there it went down hill. Food was very good but service was non existent due to the young girl being put behind the bar. The two servers in the restaurant now never came to the table. Until at least 30 minutes after finishing our meal I asked If anyone was going to clear the table and take dessert order. The guy cleared the table but never returned. I called a young lad over who was bringing meals from the kitchen if I could speak with the manager. He was very polite and while waiting to speak with the manager the girl who was the other server came over and asked if everything was OK. I just told her i wish to speak with the manager. (Bit to late this was because the young lad went to the two servers and told them I asked for the manager) I was planning to return but obviously won't now.

Perfect stay. Rooms spacious, clean and comfortable. Had a lovely evening meal, lots of great sounding options. Reasonable price and really good service. Topped all off with a really good breakfast at a really reasonable price. Would highly recommend.

I had the lamb hot pot pie, nice and tasty, the veggies were pretty plain. Staff were friendly and smiled, however lacked attentiveness. However thank you for a lovely evening, would revisit.

I called in for lunch with my partner while visiting a nearby car salesroom. We were both pleasantly surprised at the beautiful gardens and easy parking. A very nice building. We sat in a large 'orangery' type room with views to gardens. The staff were really friendly and helpful especially our young waitress. The food was excellent for what we wanted. And the prices very reasonable. I will call again in the area.

This place could be great, but it is currently very mediocre and cheap feeling. The room we had felt like a dark cell with ugly lighting and a largely obstructed window. The bathroom looked nice and modern but all the plumbing was wonky, making it difficult to have a nice warm shower. Breakfast was equally disappointing. Food looked ok on the plate, but tasted like everything was just done in a microwave. The staff were pretty nice though and the room was clean.

Decent pub, nicely located off the main road. Nice beer garden, dog friendly pub with lots of room for large groups and families. The service is fine and the staff are friendly and helpful. Good choice of tasty food.

Stayed for only one night whilst on a work trip. The room was lovely and a welcome change from the usual Travelodge the company put me up in. What was amazing was the food. Both the breakfast and evening meal. This is a large establishment with plenty of space for parking and loads of seating areas. Everywhere throughout the accommodation and public area was very clean and the staff are very welcoming and professional. Would I take my partner here? Yes, I would without a doubt. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Staff were nice, food was OK. Very expensive for what it was. Some food was inedible and drinks order never arrived but staff were great and sorted it. Beautiful restaurant, clean, tidy and very picturesque.

Very conveniently situated for Barnstaple. Friendly team. Sadly we had travelled for a funeral, and had a pig if a day getting there. The team were welcoming, the food was very good and reasonably priced, as was the room. I have paid this amount for a standard room elsewhere, the room here was spacious to a good standard, and I would certainly stop again. Full marks

Booked a family lunch for mums 84th Birthday. We have been several times before and we are never disappointed. All the staff are friendly especially Sammie who served us, as she has done on previous occasions, very happy polite and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Food was wonderful for our table of 8, a variety which caters for all of us! Generous Portion size meals, mini puddings with coffee to finish. Compliments to the chef. Might even book for Christmas. Thank you to all at The Cedars Inn.

Cedars were very attentive but not intrusive for us as a family group after my Dads funeral. We were able to bring our own cakes to celebrate Dad as he loved our homemade cakes. We had space Toruń around with the children and sit with older folks. Great place for a wake - perfect.

Staff have a fabulous work ethic. Whoever trains and motivates the wonderful restaurant staff deserves credit. Every time we dine in the restaurant we comment on the lovely, friendly staff. Never had a bad meal either. Thank you so much.
