Lovely mid-sized shopping centre with a good variety of shops, lots of parking places and easy access. Brought back some nice memories....

Plaza itself is fine, many shops. BUT: Parking costs 300 HUF/hour, even though you buy something. Better restrict parking time than charging for parking AS A CUSTOMER.

There are some nice Cafe and some stores and the only one Auchan supermarket in the city.

Cannot go to toilet for free. Disappointed.

It's quite charming and has quite a lot in it. End of the day it's a small mall and does exactly what it is supposed to. The cinema is good!

Amazing place Everything you need is there

I visited this shopping centre today after long years not being there. Currently some renovations going on, which is great since the place used to look old and out of date. What makes me give 2 stars only is the fact that now they are charging 100HUF for using the toilets. Really, is this necessary? If it was a voluntary "donation box" I would say ok, no worries I'll tip the cleaner. This is another example for milking the customers (who go there to spend money and use services) and not the companies (who are there to sell their product& services and make money on the shoppers). I won't be choosing Plaza for shopping after this experience, rather going to ARKAD where the toilets are complementary. This is about giving some courtesy to your customers.

Lots of stores inside, restaurants. I think its also good for spend a little time. Pharmacy, Rossman, groceries clothes, book, toy stores. There is a Gelato ice cream stand there, very delicious. I scoop its 450 Forint

This was the first shopping mall in Györ. We used to spent lot of time and money here when I learnt at the university. There are many shops here thus you can buy anything what you need and you can avoid the crowds as well. I really recommend this place to everyone.

Well maintained building with interesting history and beautiful architecture. It's a striking building from outside, allowing for some nice photo opportunities. We had an informative guided tour and learned about the history of the building. The main discussion hall has interesting historical paintings, providing an overview of the city and country.

One of the most beautiful city halls, looks incredibly grand for a city of the size. Definitely worth stopping for a photo. In front is the obligatory I love Gyor sign.

A Canadian Tourist Review: Huge vegetarian pizza with very fresh toppings. I was expecting a much smaller pizza given the price. It was 3000 Hungarian Fonti. The beer was 1000 Fonti but one beer here is equivalent to two beers in Canada. Overall this massive beer and huge pizza is equivalent to under 15 CAD. Huge bargain given this is the only restaurant in the plaza which is a prime tourist location. Fantastic service. Servers speak fluent English. Highly highly recommend!

A nice day in Gyor, Hungary 🇭🇺! My wife had the fried cheese and Loved it! I had the Gypsy Roast and potatoes. Service was great and attentive. Food was hot and delicious! Good food! At a good price! No room for dessert.

Service was mostly good but rather rushed, as soon as my partner had put his fork down they swooped in to take away his plate (he hadn't finished and the place wasn't at all busy so we didn't understand the need!) We felt a little uncomfortable and observed until we finished the plates, I think perhaps the staff were bored on a slow day..

We didn't have a reservation so at first there were some issues with getting us seated and since there were no tables left, they took us next door to "The Ivory Room" Restaurant, which looked way better then the main building in my opinion. I wasn't really hungry, so I ordered a salad expecting that it would be a smaller potion, but boy... that salad was HUGE. - think it cost around 4k Ft. So, the prices were reasonable and everyone enjoyed their food. 🤠

We were in this wonderful restaurant on January 4, 2023, and I can freely say, that he additionally embellished the wonderful impressions from Gyor. When we entered, there were still seats, but after our arrival, everything quickly filled up, the atmosphere is wonderful, relaxed, pleasant, and yet so cultural. The waiter was wonderful, helpful, and the service is at a very high level. And the food is a fairy tale! Everything is so deliciously prepared, aesthetically pleasing, and of high quality. We went twice in our three-day stay, that’s how much we liked it. The food was tasty, homemade and nicely presented. You may not want to get an appetizer, as the portions are very generous. The staff is kind and friendly. Good price-value ratio. The sponge cake with whipped cream and fruit was out of this world. Highly recommend!

Palffy restaurant has a good space inside and also some tables outside. They have really good options on their menu and everything we ordered was really tasty, so we had a pleasant lunch there. The staffs don’t speak to much English, but it wasn’t a problem for us, since the staffs did they best to understand us and deliver a nice service. So, if I visit the city again I would be happy to be back in this restaurant. Ps: they are pet friendly.

It is very much a "retro" building! It is a must to visit, if you like the style of twee '70s ! It is also home of the excellent Ballet of Gyôr company.

Beautiful and big Zoo. You can buy food for the animals in the Entrance of the Zoo. The deer are not afraid of humans, so you can touch and pet them. There are giraffes, elephants, penguins, tigers, bears, lions, birds etc. The only bad thing is there is only one snake...other than that it's a great Zoo. Would recommend.

It is one of the places that you and your children will enjoy most. Being close to animals provides you with wonderful positive energy. It is a good place for kids, it has an indoor games area and an outdoor games park, and a small fast-food restaurant to have meals and drinks. But it seems that animals need better care and more attention, neglect is noticeable. Please, take care of them, they deserve the best.

well-chosen materials, outdoor aviaries, and fairly active animals. Amazingly funny giraffes and elephants. But the view of the pipes around and some old Soviet houses is a little upsetting.

We also visited the zoo with a small 5-month-old baby and I must say that he enjoyed it very much. The animals are in many cases very close, which is very interactive and interesting for children. Sometimes it was a bit difficult for us to walk with a stroller, not every road is adapted to it, but it was manageable. The zoo is definitely not one of the big ones, but it has everything you would expect. The whole tour, even with a small snack, can be done in 2 hours. It is also possible to buy animal feed, which I would recommend as you can feed deer and giraffes in close proximity and the children enjoy it. The price was acceptable, but I was a little surprised that they were paying even for such a small child in a stroller, but it is rather symbolic. We would love to come back when our little one grows up.

Variety of exotic animals, the big five plus Jaguar, tiger bear, donkeys double hummed camel, penguins etc..good for a family day out

We really enjoyed our time here. Nice, kind of cozy, you get to go close with multiple animals, and even touch some. The orientation was not totally clear though, and for a smaller zoo (compared to many we’ve been to before), the tickets (bought online) weren’t the most affordable. Still a very nice place worth visiting.

Brilliant experience, the animals are in a comfortable environment, spectacular shows to watch for the visitors. I've expected to spend 1.5 hrs there, took us 3.5 hrs to see the zoo. Highly recommended.

Great experience with beautiful animals. You can really see that they take good care of the animals. Especially liked the penguine walk and elephant training. Was very happy to see that English and Slovak translations are also available for foreigners. However, I would recommend the zoo to check their slovak texts... some of them turned out to be quite funny for the native speakers (like lev púšťavý or návod k žirafe)

A great little compact zoo. I would have given 5 stars but we were a bit disappointed by zero open shops/stalls/restaurants. Also the lady from the reception was extremely unwilling to improve anything, didn't even bother to move 20 steps from the gate and open the souvenir shop for our kids. Otherwise, the animals were awesome!

Extremely positive about this. We have seen most of the zoos around but this is one of the best ones. The animals are really close, the stuff is friendly. Unusually well equipped for rainy weather as well. We had a storm and they were able to shelter a lot of people while it lasted. Really enjoyable, we will visit it again in the close future.

Good quality and carefully prepared food. Was expecting more from deserts that they will crown the dinner but they were still good just slightly sub-par to starters and main courses. Also rethinking classics is risky if they are not reinvented to an evolved form just different. Only real disappointment was the grilled pineapple, the taste was exactly like it came from a can.

Very nice restaurant, with Michelin recommendation (not star). Food was very tasty, desserts were delicious and everything was nicely set up and served. It is a little more expensive, but for the restaurant like this, you are paying also for the experience and then it is not expensive at all. We strongly recommend to try.

One of the best restaurants around. Gyor offers some nice restaurants, but Lamareda is top class in Hungary and proves that you can eat according to international standards outside the capital too. We ate very tasty and pretty dishes with good quality ingredients. They have a nice wine list with also Hungarian wines. The restaurant has a great terrace in front. Friendly and professional staff with good suggestions.

Ordering a soup is a great experience! They pour the liquid into the dry ingredients in front of you, and it's very good food! If they dimmed the lights a bit and added candles to each table, it'd elevate the atmosphere! Waiting staff are brilliant! Great timing, very well spoken English too! Great wine selection as well! Would have been nice to have more than 1 vegetarian/vegan option on the menu.

This restaurant is a wonderful place for a meal in Györ. A little pricey compared to typical Hungarian restaurants but well worth the price. The food is delicious and the presentation is pleasing to the eye. We had the foie gras which was very tasty and the also the artichoke soup. For main meals no disappointment there. Duck breast was great and so was the house made noodles with shrimp and mussels. Finished off with dessert called punch dessert and was the coup de gras. Stop in for a lovely meal in a cozy and beautiful atmosphere.

Wish I were in restaurants like this every week or even more often. With some help from a waiter I placed an order. They speak a good English so no worries to follow their recommendations. Soup was perfect. The size and the taste were exactly to my liking. The main dish was even better! I paid €32 for such a delicious food! Highly recommended.

Slightly behind expectations to be honest.. I read the great reviews here on maps, and so we went in for lunch. First the entry to restaurant... Is there a fish shop on ground level? Would it worth to made a wall so customers won't see some mess? Anyway.. Went upstairs, been seated.. Waiter can't speak English. Just Hungarian and German.. Right.. Anyway, we made of choose and waited.. Food was overall good taste - this is what I can confirm. But we waited like 45 minutes! We were the only guest in restaurant! I can't imagine how long things take when it's full house.. So. Yep. Food 7.2/10, service 5/10, interior 5.5/10

Really nice place with excellent fish soup options. We went for the Catfish Soup which was really nice and the bread was very fresh. Another good point here is that they have so many hand painted pottery items for sale, so with the help from our waiter Zsolt, we ended up leaving with two lovely individually decorated plant pots at a reasonable price. The Dreher was also very nice 👌

This restaurant was a really nice surprise - since this was our first time in Gyor. Food is great - the spicy fish soup was the highlight, highly recommended. And I must say, it’s great to find a waiter mastering the English language in Hungary - did not catch his name unfortunately but kudos to him.

The main course is very good, but a lot of the dishes are fatty, so keep that in mind when ordering. The desserts are very good. The service was ok, but they do not speak very good English. The location and the atmosphere are very nice, just the outside furniture seems a bit old.

Great atmosphere and service with a good selection of food. The steak was excellent, though I will ask for a different side next time; the mushroom ragout was a bit overwhelming. All in all it's the setting that makes the restaurant stand out: swaying gently on the river, enjoying the view was worth every penny. (Btw, food is reasonably priced.) They charge twice for "services" (based on previous reviews, they have a special rate for non-Hungarians people 😅). the food is visually very beautiful, but the taste is a disaster. I could not cut the steak with the knife, the sauce was extremely strong and the potatoes half cold. Ambient and decoration are ok. However, I would not recommend this Restaurant to my friend!

The location of this place is really pretty, I love water and it was just extremely nice to spend my birthday at this place, which also gave off romantical vibes. You could watch the sunset, while enjoying these moments with closest people. The food was amazing!! Really delicate and gentle fish. The only complaint I had is about the waiter, who left us for 20 minutes, when we only entered. He didn't give us any menu and we had to find it ourselves. It also felt like only 2 waiters are working in the whole place, but there were a lot of people.

Last night we went for a special treat and we ate a 3 course dinner at the Hajó Restaurant. All my dishes were very delicious, above my expectations, and everything was vegan. I am very glad, as there are no vegan evening dining places in town at all, so this unique experience made my day. The restaurant itself is lovely, clean and there's a pleasant atmosphere as well. Our server, Akos, was very kind, he made sure we have a good experience. Special thanks for the chef, Krisztian. 💚

We had a very nice dinner here on an occasion of a birthday celebration. We were hungry enough to decided to start it with soups before the main dishes. All the different soups tasted delicious, garlic and cream soup in a roll was the best of all of them. We selected a wide range of main dishes too which was just as great as you could have imagined it. Decent portions and friendly environment. Expect slower response on new round of drinks when it is busy but other then that we had a great time. I would happily recommend this place , to make sure you have a table , booking ahead of time is preferable.

Nice place, quiet good cusine. Draught beer, plenty of meet/fish dishes. Long wait for food (but its was fresh), and later on for check. Additional positions (garnishes) on the check. Plus obligatory 10% add to check as a service.

The quality of the ingredients is very bad, which combined with a bad cooking style just turns each meal into a very poor dish. In my case, I was extremely disappointed with my mixed vegetables dish (basically overcooked frozen vegetables) and with the fisherman fish soup which had an overly strong river fish taste. Most of all I was extremely angry with the fact that the staff was quite unfriendly and they even had the nerve to add a double service fee of 15% to our bill without mentioning it! Never again... I would advise people to look very carefully to every item discriminated in the bill.

We tried the famous Hungarian fish soup and Gulasch and it was quite tasty. You can shoose between small and normal sized meals and pay by card. The waiters speak English and German.

Again, very spicy Fried carp - the only positive thing about this restaurant Tea - teabag - Food quantity - big portions - Place 3/10 - the location of the restaurant is very good, but inside the tables are very close to each other and almost no space for the waiters to pass. When we visited this place it was fully crowded (Saturday afternoon) - the waiters were stressed, they messed up my food order (I guess because of language barrier), they were dropping cutlery and coins and passing with three plates of food over everyone's head wondering whether the next goulash will be on someone's table or on my clothes + dirty and oily plates - Payment - cash or by card - Toilet - although looked renovated, not that clean and nicely maintained - Waiters - speaking Hungarian and German, but very little English.

We were three for an early dinner on a Sunday. Pros: nice location on a plaza, good service. The Cordon Bleu and garlic catfish were fine but nothing special. Cons: extremely pricey! Fries were dried out. Limited menu.

So. The place is not ok. We've ordered 2 fried cheese. The service is kind of nice but old fashioned. So it's not matching recent standards. But the food... It's not bad but it's nothing. Like there was no flavor. The cheese should be salty and mild but it was like chewing gum. And the price compared to the food quality is extremely high. We've paid 7.000 in total (~20 eur) but in good places that i know this dish would cost 30-40% less. I don't recommend this place. Also probably they are not paying the taxes because we didn't received a bill after payment.

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience in our second visit yesterday. We arrived at 8:45 pm to the restaurant. We wanted to have a single catfish soup, but we have told the kitchen is closed, which is fair enough, but the gentleman has not even tried to double-check with the kitchen. He checked his watch beforehand to say good evening when we've entered the restaurant. It's all good and normal that the kitchen closes at 8 45 but we just arrived at the same time but his attitude and the level of costumer service was unacceptable. It's a shame as we had a great food experience at our first visit but I don't think we will go back.
