Pub
The Old Castle is a traditional establishment with a charming terrace garden adorned with blooming hanging baskets. It offers a typical seasonal menu and is known to be dog-friendly. Situated on the High Street, it is one of the most stunning buildings in Bridgnorth, boasting an impressive floral wall. The pub's interior appears deceptively larger than its exterior and provides impeccable service, even when packed with fully booked tables.
First time visiting this lovely pub. We had sandwiches and puddings, and the taste and presentation were second to none. The service was friendly, and the price was extremely reasonable. When in the area, we will visit again. Dog friendly, too.😁

Always a good place to go in Bridgnorth decent food and always a good pint. The service is always good and the beer garden is nice with lots of flowers and a nice atmosphere. If ur looking for good pub grub and a decent pint I'd recommend this place all day long.
gareth hodgetts — Google review
The food was spot on for what we wanted coming out hot fresh and within 15-20 minutes for a table of 5 on a warm, sunny and busy Friday lunch time is outstanding. The staff where all very nice and friendly. Would recommend they even have space for dogs outside in the garden.

A fantastic little pub bigger inside than out. Service is spot on as we were 'squeezed' in as tables were fully booked. Gr8 and a must, recommended.
mick eames — Google review
Booked in advance after travelling on severn valley railway, Had a meal for 7, everyone loved their meals. Great proper homemade pub food. Eaten out 3 times this week for my wifes 40th and this was by far the best. My wife had the homemade vegetable lasagne and absolutely loved it.

A really enjoyable meal this evening. Excellent food, lots of happy customers and very attentive and cheerful members of staff. Sam was ready to welcome us and showed us to our table, ensuring that we were well looked after throughout, what was, a very enjoyable evening. The Shropshire sundowner was an added delight. We look forward to visiting again on our next visit to Bridgnorth.

The Old Castle is amazing. I have never been before. The food and service we're outstanding. It's of a gastro pub standard but without the pretentiousness and silly prices. The portions were decent sizes too, so wear something stretchy! There were 4 of us, and we had 3 courses plus drinks. We really were stuffed, but the puddings were amazing, so we had to have those too! The Old Castle also keeps a decent pint and is spotlessly clean and dog friendly.... what more could you ask for. I would recommend this pub wholeheartedly and cannot wait to return very soon.
andrea perry — Google review
Food is fine, large portions but staff are unfriendly and ignore you. Had to wait an hour until we requested to order whilst everyone else was approached for their orders. Took half an hour for us to get our food and we asked for desert menus to which the waitress said she would get them for us and then never did. The front of the pub is quite old and the tables are sticky.

I had high hopes for this pub after reading the previous reviews. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. The positives are the decor, friendly staff, prompt service, good location, tasty local beer, good selection of food and drink, and the main meal portions were big. Unfortunately the food was disappointing in taste (soup was too salty, the burgers didn’t have much flavour), and the coffees were watery/ not very strong. It felt like it was quantity of food over quality. It may be we were unlucky with what we chose, but I wouldn’t risk going back or recommend it to others.

Fantastic food. Does get hot in the restaurant with how busy it gets so wear layers! The food is always top quality in taste, presentation and size. Come here often. Good selection of drinks. Lovely with the fire on but also in the summer in the garden. Pork belly is my favourite at the moment and we shared mussels in a creamy white wine sauce with fries and bread roll for starter and my husband had hunters chicken for main washed down with a pint of Laines and half a thatchers gold. Yum!

OMG, the best steak n ale pie we have ever had. Its absolutely gorgeous ,lean and massive, served with fresh veg and PROPER chips. Staff very friendly and professional. A local recommended it and what a great recommendation it was. Thanks

We popped in today, 3 adults and 2 dogs. The staff and service were perfect, we had lunch and our dogs had treats from the bar. We would highly recommend here, our food was excellent and with attentive but not invasive staff, we spent a lovely time in the conservatory beside a burning log stove. What more could you ask for on a cold day in Bridgnorth. Wonderful 😁🐕
Emma Cunningham — Google review
What a lovely chic pub restaurant. Although it is more restaurant than pub. Great selection on wines, beers, soft drinks, non-alcoholic beverages and cocktails. Local real ale served too. I had Wye Valley Butty Bach. The price is just right. It isn't cheap, but my goodness, the quality of the food is sublime. They are not shy on the servings either. You get your moneys worth and then some. My only criticism is that there is very little choice for vegetarian and vegans. We would definitely loce to return and try your new vegan dishes. The decor is chic. Lots of clocks. There is dining area outside on the terrace. Perfect for a sunny summer evening with your gal. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Even when they are very busy. Credit to all the waiters, waitresses and kitchen staff today.

If you're searching for an Italian eatery in Bridgnorth, look no further than Peepo. They offer a tasty selection of traditional Italian dishes, including pizza and pasta, as well as a popular Slimming World Menu. The restaurant also houses The Spirit Room, a cocktail bar where you can explore their extensive range of classic and modern cocktails. With top-notch service and delectable food, Peepo provides an excellent dining experience. It has a contemporary ambiance with attentive staff.
Came here for a light lunch and a afternoon out in Bridgnorth. Great food, cheap prices. Perfect spot for a quick lunch in Bridgnorth’s high street.

Superb eatery in the centre of Bridgnorth. Much more than just pizzas. The food was amazing and our two waitresses were brilliant. Great value meals, especially at lunchtimes. Pay them a visit, you won't regret it! If you found this review/photos helpful, please click the like or helpful button. Thanks.

A very great place with awesome tasting food! We both had a very nice pizza here at Peepo & were pleasantly surprised with how nice the whole experience was. The food menu is vast & very ideal for pizza lovers. Although big, it did not take the two of us long to find the 'make your own' pizza option which was included in the very well priced three course meal option. Peepo is only lacking the 5 stars because it closed rather early at 9pm - we had eaten by then but may have stayed for an extra drink if it would have been open longer... Very great & will return to check out their lunch deals in the future!

The food was good and service prompt. Wonderful margaritas. We were there early so not many people in so it was a bit quiet but we will certainly be going there again. Did I mention the wonderful margaritas?

Loved it and the staff were really accommodating as I asked for a few requests. Will be back again as my son really loved the pepperoni pizza 🍕🤤

We looked at the menus of a few local places to go for dinner and decided on Peepo because they had a good variety of veggie options. We had starters and mains and were not disappointed. The food is outstanding! I had the vegan mushrooms to start and the sauce was lovely ❤️❤️❤️ for main I had the truffle pizza and it was divine, they certainly didn’t skimp on truffle and the flavour was immense. The host was friendly and attentive without being overbearing and the atmosphere was really warm and inviting. I would definitely dine here again and recommend others do the same ❤️❤️❤️

Excellent service and excellent food. Dined on a Thursday evening so was reasonably quiet with only one other group. Lovely contemporary setting with staff that were super attentive. Reasonably good value for money for our party of 4 price was 30 per head but that did include coffee and a few cocktails that were excellent btw even the non alcoholic one.
Paul Garrad — Google review
Always great food and service here. But we had breakfast this time, and wow how good was it. Anyone wanting something a bit different for brekkie you really need to try Peepos.

The best place I’ve eaten In a very long time. We arrived on the steam trains for a day out. I had asked a local shopkeeper where she would recommended for good food, affordable prices and child friendly. She pointed straight that way and said peepo pizza, trust me. All I can say is the restaurant is run so so well, by such a professional and accommodating team. They were super kind and friendly and provided the kids with so much to do. My mum had forgotten her reading glasses and they gave her a pair. The kdis loved their good and I was shocked at how great the food was and the prices were so so reasonable. We all ate a main course and desert for £25 and I have to say the apple crumble was to die for. Well done peepo pizza, it’s hospitality like yours that keeps people coming back again and again

The BEST pizza I have ever had. Flavours spot on as was the dough base. We ordered 16 as a group and all agreed they were just superb. See you next year for Sup the 7
Sara Lamprell — Google review
Had the lunch deal which is good value and food is good but experience blunted by the fact that mains took over an hour to arrive. In addition I had a nice milkshake but should have looked closer at the price - £6.95. In fact because of the "discretionary" 12.5% service charge more like £7.81. Apart from long wait feeling subsidising the lunch deal on the drinks.
John Sexton — Google review
Very nice atmosphere. Great food. However, the service was a bit slow and fragmented. Despite this, I can recommend this place.
Steve Marlow — Google review
We had our twin girls 7th birthday meal here today for 15 of their friends. So easy to book and pre order food, timings were perfect, very accommodating and relaxed, excellent food and hugely welcoming. I cannot speak highly enough of our experience today. Thank you so much to everybody involved.
Hannah Littleford — Google review
Disappointed really although it's a nice place the food wasn't the best. The portion sizes were very small, we had the £16.95 3 course meal (all good so far ) and I expected a little bit of a smaller portion than the other dinners but they were small, my starter was chicken strips with a dip & I got 2 chicken strips! this can be seen on my pictures . The main was macaroni cheese (the pasta was I would say a budget one) a small portion that came on its own, I ordered chips at if memory serves me right was nearly £4 & they were in the smallest container I've ever seen it may have had 8 chips in there. The dessert wasn't bad couldn't save the day unfortunately. I struggle to recommend this place but it's possible that I was just unlucky as the place had a buzz about it and was full .

Visited Ye Olde Punchbowl Country Inn & Gardens upon daughter's recommendation for a Carvery. The food was impressive, particularly the delicious roast beef and perfectly cooked potatoes. The place itself is charming and cozy, making it a great choice for future visits. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, creating a pleasant dining experience. The ambience in the entire dining area was delightful. Although some diners may not have met expectations, this can be expected anywhere.
Had a lovely time. Staff were very helpful, great service. The Carvery was lovely. Breakfast was great. Rooms very cosy and warm . The only downside was the traffic noise. We will certainly be going back.

Staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. Food the best, the whole dining area has a nice ambience to it. Some other diners leave a bit to be desired but that happens anywhere. Chef does an amazing job.

The food was beautiful. Sadly the service let the place down. Not sure if same staff training is needed. I found on our visit. We had to keep stopping the staff all the time for them to serve us. Non of them though to came and sever our table. Other tables were getting served before us. Even though we had been sitting and waiting longer. Just feel like you had to get on the case all the time to get seved. The visit was hard work.

Really messed around by this place avoid, avoid, avoid if you are thinking of booking your wedding here. Unprofessional and disorganised management - definitely wont be bothering with this place. Swapped a few emails and had a visit, a barman showed us the facilities, and we stayed for dinner and it all looked ok for the money charged. Rang up and asked for an appointment to see that wedding manager, had to ring a few times eventually were told only one possible date over then next few months. Not great but the manager insisted no other date or time would do, we both arranged AL from work and made it happen. However, what a mistake. Walked in and the manger didn’t know us…..had completely forgotten he asked us to come in. We repeated our requests that we had already submitted and was told that Ye Olde Punchbowl hadn’t offered that services for 6 months. Why on earth did they insist we came and wasted our AL? How rude!!! Why didn’t they just tell us this over the phone or by email. Needless to say we cancelled our meal with them for that night and will never return!

We visited Blue Ginger Indian Restaurant for a quick meal before going to the theater and were treated exceptionally well. The starters and drinks were delicious, and we even indulged in a dessert, which is not something we typically do. Despite being surrounded by Asian restaurants in Birmingham, Blue Ginger surpassed them all. It easily deserves a 5-star rating for its outstanding food, service, and value for money.
We only popped in for a quick snack of mixed starters and a drink before our trip to the theatre, nevertheless we were treated like royalty! The food was simply superb. I even had a desert (which I never do!) We live in Birmingham and are surrounded by Asian restaurants but Blue Ginger surpasses any that we've eaten in for a long time. It is the easiest 5 star rating I've ever given. The food, the service and the value for money is staggeringly good. Thank you Blue Ginger, we will be back

I booked a table online after reading the great reviews. From the moment we arrived, the staff were very welcoming. The food is amazing, (try the lamb chops) the place very clean and air conditioned. The wine was priced very affordable, and the bill for three was so good. This place is great and one I will come back to without doubt.

First time we have visited this restaurant, it was to celebrate our grandsons birthday. The whole experience was first class! The staff, service, menu and quality of the food, all excellent. Certain to return.

Over priced food, food starters was covered in what seemed sweet and sour sauce. Curry was not nice at all chicken tikka didn’t even taste like chicken tikka. Online the order price was £53 when I ordered in it was then £59. “I’ll chuck you a chutney tray in” thanks. Then charges me for it. Won’t ever eat here again.

Meal was alright but asked for g/f as I’m a celiac. Wouldn’t eat there again as after 2 bites of the meal and I was running to the toilet it’s the next day and still suffering from it. On another note the meals I ordered for friends they really enjoyed. I wouldn’t eat here if you have allergies

We went for our Christmas Dinner at 3pm. The food was amazing, hot, tasty and the best Indian meal we have ever had. Staff are so friendly, polite and can't do enough for you. Definitely worth going and we will definitely go back.

Absolutely lovely place to have a special Indian meal with or without friends. The only drawback is the sound which echos and can become very loud when there are a lot of tables occupied. This could be easily be resolved by some soft furnishings such as curtains to absorb the echo. As elderly clients we find this curtails our conversation somewhat.

We went there for the first time tonight Saturday 25/11/23. We booked online which was really easy. We were greeted by welcoming staff and shown to our table. The atmosphere was really warm and friendly, the waiters were very knowledgeable and helpful and the food was amazing. A really excellent curry venue.

I have eaten at this Indian restaurant several times. On this occasion I was one of a party of 18 people, members and friends of the local Rotary Club. The restaurant is pleasant and the dining area is well set out. Our tables wasxready for us when we arrived. We were greeted by friendly staff who served us drinks on arrival and ensured we were seated and ready for our food. The whole meal was excellent, from poppadoms and pickles, through starters, to the main course. For the mains, we were given 3 or 4 different curries, parathas and side dishes. The curries were particularly good and appropriately spiced. As a group meal, the cost was moderate. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, diners can have two mains for the price of one. I look forward to returning here again.

Nice restaurant to eat at, always clean and tidy & food piping hot. Good selection of food on offer and good with people who have allergies. Good deals on Tuesday & Wednesday. Staff always friendly. Would recommend and worth the visit. Just not idea for people with a Nut Allergy, especially when you order a meal without nuts & then they bring it out to find that they’ve sprinkled almond powder all over it!
