It’s a massive temple with an amazing UNESCO world heritage. Our guide monk made the concept of Buddhism and the temple’s history very easy to understand. We were also accompanied by a full-time English interpreter, who was exceptionally friendly and helpful. While reaching the location can be quite challenging without a car, but still worth a visit for a temple stay if you’re spending quite a long time in Korea.

I introduce my experience of visiting haeinsa temple.  It is located  In hapcheon-gun.  You can see Tripitaka Koreana, the 32n national treasure of korea. This place took a lot of risk.  First, Fire broke out 7 times But it has been protected by scientific design - such as humidity control, wind direction, or floor material - to prevent fire.  Next, At the Korean war, This place almost disappeared after being bombed by the US. Thanks to general kim Young-hwan, that wasn't happen. There are many beautiful nature products.  So you can calm down your mind from here. Learning about buddhism will be useful to you with many culture heritages besides the triptaka koreana!  Let's go and collect stemps. Sleeping at the temple is one of the imposing experience.  You can do the temple stay for 1 night and 2 days. Admission fee is adult 3000won, teenager 1500won, and children 700won.  Discounts are available for groups of 30 or more. It is worthwhile to build historical knowledge.  Why don't you come to Haeinsa temple?  I recommend a visit to here,  But it can be perfect trip to avoid the midsummer.

Haeinsa is a beautiful temple with lots of things to do in the surrounding. Cute Hanok-shaped coffee shops and most of green path ways to enjoy nature. The temple also offers temple stays for those looking to enjoy the full experience. From Haeinsa you can also hike to the peak of Gayasan.
Sharon Nabwire — Google review
If you enjoy a nice hike, consider starting at the beginning of Sound Road (소리길). I've walked it both in Spring and Autumn. Autumn gave the best colors, but Spring was really sweet after the cold winter. Haeinsa is quite a ways away, but the nature walk to the temple is worth it. The temple offers a temple stay, guided tour, and the option to write on a temple tile!

Take a bus (1.5 hours) from Seobu bus terminal (connected with metro line 1, Daegu). From bus stop there's a 1.2 km to temple, green, nice, uphill. You can be able to catch a taxi, if you for instance have luggage for your temple stay. Bus runs every 40 min, bring cash to pay for bus trip back (8100 won). Book café on temple grounds. Cafés and restaurants along the walk. I didn't do a temple stay, but you can book online and pay for it cash at the temple. Very nice that it's a working temple. Hiking paths up the mountain.

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Upo Wetlands is a vast inland marshland renowned for its exceptional flora and fauna, including prickly lotus flowers and oriental white storks. The wetlands are an ideal location to witness stunning sunsets while enjoying the tranquil environment. For visitors who wish to explore the area, renting a bicycle from the entrance is recommended since it provides ample time (2 hours) to tour around.
I went here with friends and loved strolling around this park to enjoy nature. Such a peaceful place to relax and walk around. A bike rental shop will be at the front of the park. I suggest renting a bike so you can explore the whole park, which is enormous. My friends and I rented a few cycles (some even rented tandem bikes), which was a lovely experience. There's so much wildlife in this park and beautiful birds. Many people come here to go bird-watching, so you'll see a bunch of photographers. In the center of the park, there's a history museum where you can learn about the wetland and the animals that inhabit the ecosystem. There's also a cute cage filled with rabbits, LOL. Definitely family-friendly.

I really enjoyed visiting Upo Wetland. I had no idea they existed before my visit. It is extremely child, family and couple-friendly. The most exciting activity here is the bike rental. Upo Wetlands spans over 200 hectares so you can really get your cardio in! The views are pretty, especially in autumn when I went. There is also a beautiful museum near the entrance. On one of the trails, there is an observation deck where you can see the wetlands from high up as well as have a look at the different endangered species the wetlands comprise of. Definitely a must-see.

Such a good and peaceful place for visit and enjoy the nature (especially with Korean autumn)! I also want to recommend to you rent a bike, so it will be much comfortable to moving around.

I went here for a day trip from Daegu on Friday afternoon to see the sunset, it was calm and nice to be around the whole swamp. Recommend for rent a bicycle from the entrance it was 3,000 won for 2 hours which is enough time to. From here to the bus station takes only 10-15 mins by taxi or bus. Nice

I like this place so much. If you like to enjoy the beautiful view, upo wetland definitely is the place you should visit. Besides, bicycles are available for you to walk around to feel the nature. It is such a relaxing and wonderful place.
Han Aiyin — Google review
This is the location of the largest inland wetlands in South Korea. It is also a paradise for many varieties of ducks. There for it is well worth the visit. There is a road around the lakes and grasslands that makes the visit very easy by car. The best way to visit is with a bicycle as one cannot park at all the locations near to the lake edge. I highly visiting in the Spring and Fall. That is the time when it is teeming with wildlife. In late October there were large flights of ducks and geese and cranes flying over the area and landing for a rest. There are also paths where one can walk amount the high grass and get very close to the wildlife. I also noted a few blinds where one can use their telephoto lens and really acquire excellent close ups of the ducks and geese. If you like pond and lake life this is one of the best locations in South Korea to experience this. We took the train to Daegu and rented a car and drove for about one half hour to this location. Recommend that you set aside at least two hours as there is so much to see. Also there are flat bottom boats that are available for experiencing all away from the shore. Do go there and enjoy this paradise!

One of my memorable hiking trip in Korea back then in 2011, when I first came to Korea. We took the easier hiking course. I was surprised to see lots of mountainous terrains in Korea.
Shielah Mavengere — Google review
A stunning mountain with very well-maintained and signposted trails. There are lots of steep steps to the summit, some of which are very narrow, so be prepared for a laborious and taxing final ascent. More than worth it for the spectacular views of the rocky landscape from the summit though. Hiking boots are a must - the trail carves through the living rock in sections so decent grip is essential.

The rock formations around Soseongjae and up to the peaks (Chilbolbong and Sangwangbong) are incredibly fantastic. Everywhere you turn you cannot stop but say 'wow' to everything you see.
