A lot of Middle Ages, intersting history lesson with a good examples inside and outside of the museum. I hoped that I could visit the tower aswell but unfortuntaly you can't do that. Otherwise a lot to discover. Worth the ticket fare and recommend to visit!

Absolutely Stunning 😍 It’s so clean! All the beautiful workers are very welcoming and friendly! The Castle is safe and loved how the stairs go all around and is made pretty safe!! 100% recommend!

I really wanted to give a five star review here but to be honest I was disappointed. I will try and do a pros and cons outline: Pros *Nice castle, not the grandest but still pretty impressive. *Superb renovation work, well laid out (superb) and professional set up. *Great amenities-toilets, cafe, wheelchair friendly, shop, parking, nearby beautiful town. *Cannot comment regarding audio language but English signage is great. Cons *The signage is on reflective glass backing onto stone. With all the other good work done on the renovation they must have put a muppet in charge of this decision. Most of the signs are hard to read 🤦. *The exhibits are okay…’but’ they are simply not many of them. I would have given 4* if you got rid of the two cons. In my castle world a 5* rating would be world class. 3* here is a good result. *Cost. €12 for adults is expensive.

Awesome medieval spook castle.there is a small museum,a walk on the walls and even a ghost of the white lady in the chapel.

The castle is well preserved considering its turbulent past. The museum is very interactive with old clocks which can be manually operated as well as medieval armours and swords. The entrance fee is 12 euro and you can easily spend 2 hours if you are a castle nerd like me! There is a beautiful terrace with a cafe and the views from the tower are very picturesque!

Definitely a must place to go to when visiting Haapsalu. You can somewhat walk and see the castle for free but I recommend to go and visit the museum centre. The museum has even won some architecture awards.

An interesting castle in Haapsalu. The staff very helpful and friendly. It will take about two hours to make a full tour on your own. Take your time to read the whole history of the medieval castle and visit all the exhibits as well as the church.

Withing a very brief visit at evening to castle yard, I was impressed from surroundings and ringing of bells and convinced my self to return one day at proper time to explore also the museum and cathedral. Didn't see the White Lady, but it's amazing legend.

The rail from Tallinn to Haapsalu still ran when I was a kid, but I doubt it stopped at that specific station on arrival. Which is a pity as its probably the nicest looking one we have in this country. In any case, the museum itself is fine, but the main thing is the trains outside (mostly climbable, except the cool one you want to climb on. That one they fenced away with some very aesthetic wire fencing) and the building. The boarding area is great for sitting on the edge in the sun and eating Hesburger, which, surprising myself the most here, is one of the finest dining establishments in the city. But be aware that when the museum closes, the bathroom closes so you have a real treat waiting for you on the urinating side of things after that. At the time we found ourselves in this predicament, we went looking for the bathroom in the main building to find it closed, but there were a group of homeless looking people inside who gently pointed us towards a portable bathroom outside. While that one doesn't cost money, it does take what it's owed in olfactory suffering. Breathe in deep, relax to conserve oxygen and work fast. You'll get through it. When you come from Hesburger you could bring some extra chicken nuggets or something. The crows love it and you'll make friends in no time. I believe they actually remember me. Or they just welcome everyone with a loud screeching chorus. And if you would be so kind, do not press the button on the wall in the waiting area, it's supposed to make train sounds but the speakers are broken so everyone just has to suffer through several minutes of loud, senseless noise.

The communication museum contains an eclectic collection of phones, radios, gramophones and TVs from different eras. The railway museum exhibits photographs and miscellaneous railway paraphernalia. Outside, on the rails of the former train station, there’s a collection of older locomotives and wagons. Sadly, most of them are in a pretty deplorable state (very rusty, partly disintegrated and some vandalised). The entry is 5€ for both museums; the outdoor area as well as the platform and parts of the building can be accessed for free. Be aware that most description texts are only in Estonian.

Interesting place to visit it with your family, to show your kids some old artifacts and explain how it worked in our childhood. It is not expansive, so come and spend some time here.

Great if you're into trains. Some very decent locomotives, but actually the wooden train station itself is a piece of beautiful architecture. The trains look especially beautiful in the evening/sunset light. Pity that they are not covered and therefore are exposed to rain. Would say one of the highlights of Haapsalu.

This place is one of the biggest highlights of Haapsalu. There are many soviet era train engines, both junk and semi-conserved one, which look beautiful as well as remind of the years gone by. If you are into photography, you can get some great shots here. The Läänemaa tervesitee also brings one here when coming by bike.

This is an fantastic historic building that served as the main railway station in Haapsalu. Construction started in May 1904 of the main wooden building, with limited train service starting in December 1904. The railway station has several buildings: the passenger terminal, a train control pavilion, a terrace with roof and a covered platform with a total length of 216 metres. It was designed by architect Karl Verheim and engineer V. Vestfalen, with final construction taking place during 1905–1907. Today is serves as a train and communication museum. Trains are not in the best condition.

It's a beautiful place, but it's abandoned. It needs restoration. The old station is really awesome, ideal place for a coffee.

Visited only the Railwaymuseum. Old Haapsalu station is beautiful and the platform is very long:) Logomotives are interesting. Rust is beautiful:)

Cozy and beutiful place. A lot to see, activitues in the yard and big playroom at top floor. Only sad thing is that toys and attractions look tired and many are broken. It is going downhill compared with 7 years ago.

It is a house dedicated to painter Iloni and thus it has an exhibition of her works. Last floor is a cute playroom.

Not much to see. Toys are less. You can spend an hour with kids.

One of the few places I have seen that have facilitators in kids workshop areas that actually are engaged and very helpful. My kids were so enthusiastic about both of the workshops, it was a wonderful experience! Thank you

While nice, the playroom could do woth more toys oriented for boys - my daughter was super happy there but son asked where they hid all the cars.

Lovely place for kids to spend a 1/2 day or more.

Kids had a wonderful time there plus we bught some nice pictures for their room.

Always worth a visit. We were there for the Tchaikovsky festival which is wonderful.

Tasty food, cosy place, good service. NB! During non-summer months (off season), vegan "menu" should be improved!!!! (At the moment the only choice is goat cheese salad...) Only one salad that is more veganish - I would say that this place (off season) is not for vegans. If I remember correctly, during summer months their menu was bigger - I understand that there may be lack of fresh product during spring/winter but maybe it is something to look into.

The deer steak and the haapsalu house made beer is fabulous. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The inner atmosphere and the terrace view was very good. Thanks.

Excellent food in a cosy place. Their own inspiration of a beef tartare is simply outstanding. Highly recommended if you want a quality meal at a good value for money. Also great location by the water. Will surely return.

Incredible place..fab service. Very friendly staff. The food was fantastic. The steak, salad and fish were on point. I found it to be better than the over hyped NOA in Tallinn. The menu was sturdy with classics, with nice twists of creativity. It was a perfect storm of amazingnes..

Having seen the positive reviews I came here for dinner earlier today and I can't recommend it enough. The staff are lovely and welcoming, the scenery beautiful and the food in particular was something special (and in the short time I had, I tried a few different places). For anyone passing through, this place is a must, you won't regret it!

Goat cheese salad was just heavenly. The show stopper detail was the bread that was hidden under the salad pillow. All the flavors fitted together so well.

Super tasty food for both meat or veggie lovers. Fast and friendly service, awesome semi-fine dining semi-local vibe. We ate at the resto as well as ordered once to go - both time 5/5. Additionally they were very helpfull adressing some of our diet restrictions. Keep the good work:)

One of the few places that's open all year round. They offer delicious food and a good selection of drinks. Outside seating is heated and protected from the harsh winds. Polite staff. Prices are a bit high for a small town but the venue and quality of the food makes up for it.

We ordered vegetarian pizza, alcoholic and non alcoholic gloggi and vegetarian spicy snack. All was delicious and the service was very good as well. The ambiance was amazing.

Lamb & pickled onion "pie" (pizza) was QUITE tasty and satisfying after a day of exploring western Estonia. Pizzas were large and more than enough for one person. Outdoor tables in front were quaint, with a nice view of the streets and shops. Service was polite, though a bit awkward. Guests stand at the front gate/fence while the host asks the size of their group and finds them a seat. Overall a very good experience, an we would go again.

Their grilled octopus was one of the best dishes that I had on a recent Estonia trip! We came for lunch on a quiet midweek afternoon and enjoyed the relaxed vibe, food, wine, and outdoor seating. Would highly recommend!

Unfortunately the expectation didn’t meet the reality. Rabbit ravioli was a big disappointment. Seafood pizza was too wet and few muscles weren’t even open. Friend’s pizza was served 15min after my ravioli, not all the same time. Fortunately they gave us a bit of discount after we complained.

This was our best meal in Estonia. Amazing atmosphere. Really great wine. Excellent service by the owner. And very great food. Would go back gladly.

It was quite good experience to be here. But I guess some ppl thinks the price is abit high. The restaurant was quite local and a waiter and waitresses are nice. One star was deleted cuz I could smell the meat smell when I eat the steak~ exfept that all were good:)

Nice place, perfect location. Tasty food and friendly service. Will come here one more time for sure to try something else. This place is very good if you like to eat juicy pork ribs with baked potatoes and a pint of a beer.

The whole place inside is like a large wooden cabin, very cozy and unique design (even the bathroom deserves a visit even if you do not need it)! I just wanted to share an experience I had at a restaurant recently. Unfortunately, it was a really negative one. Moreover, the staff was extremely unfriendly, which made it even worse. It was a regular day with not many guests, so I expected better service. I hope my review helps others make informed decisions when choosing to dine at this restaurant, as there are plenty of other great restaurants around this area

The worst pizza I had in whole Estonia. Owner, have You ever tried real Margerita? Who adds feta to Margerita? Also there is no clear taste, only herbs. Awful dought, feels like it’s made from frozen products. Overall taste 1/5, service 2/5, cosyness 1/5. Stay away from it!

I would like to warn original Italian pizza lovers, this is not a right place for you. I like thick modern pizzas, that's why I enjoyed huge topping with a lot of cheese, salami, ham and many many things on it. Each pizza is a surprise for you. This is not a gourmet restaurant with superb service, no, this is just small nice street pizza place, where you can get nice thick high nutritious pizza with some soda drink for a very good price. This place not bad like people writing in negative comments, just don't wait from it too much.

The pizza was thick and had way too much cheese. You could only taste the cheese. There were barely any other toppings but cheese.

Just not good. Vegetables on 8 eur pizza were also defrosted. We were alone that day, but I had to go inside to order because waiter was to busy scrolling phone inside.

If you want a really bad pizza experience, this is it. Unfortunately, never experienced such bad pizza. And a glass of coca cola poured from a large bottle costs 3 euros. Also quite dirty. Not worth a cent.

I feel compelled to share my recent encounter with what can only be described as the worst pizza I have ever had the misfortune of ordering. It was such a disappointment that I found myself doing something I never thought I would do – I had to remove the meat from the pizza entirely. The pizza was so unappetizing that it left me perplexed. Despite my hunger, I couldn't bring myself to finish it.

Surprised by the taste of pizza, it was good! Very often the edge of pizzas are dry and left uneaten but not with their pizza - it was nice crispy cheesy. Helpful staff and it was off season. Toilet definitely needs to be fixed.

The kitchen is just too slow. Don't go here unless you have no issues with waiting more than 1 hour for your food. Regardless of how many customers are seated in the restaurant it just takes way too long. The pizza was burned when I got it after waiting more than a hour. The pasta was just eatable coz we were just too hungry. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

After walking around for a while in Haapsalu, me and my friends were looking for a place to have a cup of coffee. We sat outside and enjoyed beautiful summer weather. Menu seemed interesting, even for coffee drinks (it included even iced coffee with different flavours). Service was very fast and friendly. Didn't try any food except garlic bread, though these were super good.

Good and fast service. Good prices. Surprisingly good cocktails! I’m used to getting 50% spirits 50% juice drinks in Estonian bars but here it was so balanced! The garlic bread was served exactly how I like it!

Great food and good service, the food was tasting awesome and the presentation was great, we didn't have to wait long for the food. Overall it was a great place to eat and last but not least, the music was great ❤️🎶

The “vegan” burger tasted good but I’m still pretty sure there was normal meat on it because it even was bloody! That’s unique for beyond meat (If it even was beyond meat). The bread was very dry and the fries wobbly. Service was fast but not very hospitable. Pretty sure if you order something different than the vegan food it could be a good food spot. But it’s not for me!

The place was super cosy and quiet. Almost passed it by accident. The portions are generous the price adequate. The seafood risotto is to die for!
