The Dog & Duck Beefeater is a relaxed hotel with a traditional bar and grill eatery that offers complimentary Wi-Fi and parking. It is conveniently located next to the Premier Inn, making it convenient for patrons to enjoy a pint and some delicious food. The restaurant serves delectable dishes such as the Mixed Grill, which is highly recommended by guests who have tried it multiple times due to its exceptional taste. Another popular option is "The big Dipper" burger, known for its flavorful goodness.
Stopped in the Premier Inn next door so it was very handy for a pint and some grub. Had the Mixed Grill twice (it was that good) also had "The big Dipper" burger, nice tasty burger. Also had breakfast here when stopping in the Hotel. Breakfast was superb, plenty of choice and nice Costa coffee to wash it down. Help yourself to the "Continental" and place your cooked breakfast order with the Waiter/Waitress as much as you can eat, absolutely lovely cooked breakfast and the Staff couldn't do enough for you...looking forward to my next stay there, next week.....👍👍👍👍

Very Disappointing Experience on the 14th of July. On arriving at the Beefeater. Was met by a Male Member of Staff. Was told to wait 5 minutes and will get back to us to show us to our seats. Waited ten minutes. Before a Female member of staff showed us to our seats. Noticed the Male member of staff serving food at other tables. Went on to have glasses of wine. One was very cold the other warm. We gave the glass back to the waitress only to return with the same glass no change. Only to say there may be problems with the fridge. Waitress went away a third time to return with a cold glass of wine. At the end of the meal we got our Bill we had the 40 per cent voucher off main meals. Waitress took the code. To return with the Bill with the voucher not taken off. Not offers compensation for a very Poor service and Bad Experience at the Beefeater

Sits in a corner away from the premier inn sharing plenty of free parking . Had a lovely meal all served well presented, hot and in a timely manner, a special mention to Olivier whom was very nice, polite and attentive at all times. On other subjects , didn’t come across as very large and noted the bar area wasn’t that big also found the decor wasn’t either modern nor traditional just somewhere in between. In general , a pleasing visit with menus to suit all tastes with a decent priced daytime one which offers good value.

Ate here as part of the meal deal at the Premier Inn. Sadly no photos of dinner, too hungry, but the chicken melt was decent enough pub fayre. Remembered to photograph my breakfast though. All you can eat but unlike last night, not so hungry, but really enjoyed what I had. Staff very helpful and polite. Happy to return. Christmas? Suddenly remembered that it's not so far away. Scary.

Staff were very nice and polite, especially Sheri! The main was perfect: nice and warm! :) However, I ordered the Banoffee Waffle Sundae and it came quite quickly which was a positive however the description mentioned the waffles being warm which it was not and there was supposed to be chocolate shavings which there was not. My experience was fine other than the dessert.

Been past on several occasions and treated by my friend. Had an excellent meal though it was only a main course as didn't want to be completely stuffed (not into eating large meals nowadays). There is a good and varied menu to cater for all tastes

Was joined today by “er indoors” for the Unlimited breakfast. Funny smell as you arrive, but was seated quickly and it was warm and clean. Our order was taken at the table and I asked if the toast came with the food, but you have to toast the bread yourself, which is laid out by the continental selection. The unlimited breakfast allows you to this selection also. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal and pastries available which looked nice. Lots of choice for jams, marmalade , marmite and chocolate spreads. Muffins, pancakes and croissants part of the continental. Help yourself to tea and coffee. The coffee not good quality but pg tips available for tea drinkers. So I ordered sausage, bacon, hash brown, beans & 2 fried eggs. The mrs had the same but asked for well cooked fresh tomatoes. Having to do your own toast is a guessing game for the timing if your food coming out, so a heads up would be good as we ended up with cold toast. Noticed straight away a lot of kids in the restaurant and they wandering around in the service area grabbing muffins and pancakes. We saw 3 families, and all the kids hardly ate any of their cooked breakfast, but were allowed to go and get more muffins and juice, which again none of them hardly ate. If the kids eat for free option wasn’t available they wouldn’t be wasting food like we witnessed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great for families but don’t let your kids waste food. Our breakfast arrive, and my mrs wasn’t happy as the tomatoes were practically raw. The fried eggs were like rubber discs, the bacon not much flavour and the sausages not very good quality. The hash browns and beans good though. They say unlimited breakfast but they don’t come and promote this or come and ask if you want more. I had to go and ask as I wanted to order more bacon and sausage. When that came I then had to ask for cutlery. The cost is £9.99 kids eat free. Food not great, service is poor and too many kids. If you want a quiet breakfast not the place to come. For families it is worth the money, but keep control of your children. Poor outing for “er indoors” and the view from the mouth from the south is…….”not worth getting out of bed for”.

Absolutely dreadful avoid the place. Appalling service waitress had a face ththat would stop a clock clearly didn't want to be there. Ribeye steak was nothing more than a piece of frying stake which i couldn'tcut let alone chew . Advertised as triple cooked chips in reality nothing more than uncooked Oven chips. Half a raw dried tomatoes And a raw mushroom for garnish. My Mum had the desert with golden oaty crumble allegedly nothing resembling in reality. Over priced slop I will never return and advise anyone else to do the same.

We were served by Florina, who was attentive. The food was good but the side salad had too much dressing on it. My steak was nicely cooked & we look forward to a return visit.

We booked a table for 5 adults. The pub wasn't busy but we were seated next to a family where the adults were noisier than the children. We asked to be moved which was sorted and all went downhill from there. Service was non-existent, staff were not that sociable. When our food came an item was missing for one of the group and came after she'd finished her food. We'd asked to use the 2 for £30 offer with the wine. I asked for a bottle of Rose and were reminded the offer was Red or White. Our food was only mains but at no stage were we reminded of the stipulations of the offer until we went to pay. The staff then denied any knowledge of the offer. Rubbish. Staff need unskilling.

Decent pub grub in the outskirtsish of Wellingborough. Service staff were very attentive and on the ball all night, adding to the positive experience. Prices are good and if you have the Beefeater card you can get some cool deals. Had the mixed grill and the fam had burgers. Happy with the food.

Food is alright. Unfortunately one star due to being charged an extra £5 that miraculously turned up out of nowhere on my bill… I believe the waiter added a tip to the machine herself without asking. When questioned and adding my bill up from the record machine they were still unable to tell me where the extra £5 came from despite ordering the exact same meal the day before…

Pub
Restaurant
Originally known as the Lords Arms and later renamed the Dukes Arms, the pub was named after the Duke of Wellington in the 19th Century to honor his frequent visits. It consists of two bars, one for dining and one for games. Recognized as Northants Community Pub of the Year, it hosts social events to raise funds for local charities.
First time visit here. I must say from the start that this is a really lovely place to go for a meal. The interior has a good atmosphere, and when I went there it was reasonably busy which was a good sign. The service was really good, we requested an item be taken off the plate after the food had been served, this was done quickly and without fuss. I enjoyed every morsel in front of me and paid the bill without any qualms. I will be back for dessert soon! The only things missing were a "D" and an "I"

We had a really lovely meal, very impressed with the quality of the food and the amount of choice for vegetarian and vegan options. Good, and reasonably priced wine too. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Quality decor a bonus. Can't wait to eat here again 😋

We hired the barn for a night. It was amazing. The atmosphere that place creates is brilliant for any party. We also ordered a lot of food! Too much in hindsight, but the staff were incredible and helped us pack it up for our guests. It was delicious! Highly recommend the food. The staff were attentive, friendly, even enjoying a joke or two. Can't rate you all high enough.

Just popped in this afternoon, With our two small dogs, a lovely warm welcome from the lady behind the bar. A great atmosphere on a very busy Saturday afternoon, we only had a simple snack,(which was very tasty)as we were just passing through, all the staff were friendly efficient . We will definitely be going back again. Very refreshing to go somewhere and get a super service.

Fantastic pub in rural Northamptonshire. Food was of excellent quality, as too was the service we received. Nice decor, felt clean inside. No sticky tables or floors which is always a good sign. Staff wearing masks No ATM nearby so remember to get cash out before you come!

Great food and ambience. Lovely setting inside the restaurant. Only thing that we experienced in a negative way was that it took a while for someone to notice that we were waiting at the bar in order to get taken to our reserved table. We saw lots of activity whereby staff were rushing drinks to the tables but no-one stopped to ask if we were being served until a little while later when a member of staff asked us when carrying some empty glasses on the way to the bar. Also, during our meal, we waiting for quite a while to get our dessert menu one we finished our mains. Then it took a while for us to get the bill. We had to ask for it twice, think we got forgotten in the corner. Other than that, we were happy with the food but hope that the service will not be so slow on our next visit.

Staff all lovely & super helpful. Clean & well kept with lovely seating areas inside & out, large one overlooks the church. Food was outstanding & great menu. It was lovely to have a mini specials board delivered to the table to save having to search for it!! I'd highly recommend. Plenty of car parking in large car park at rear.

We've had a couple of private functions here now and both times have been exceptional. The venue is beautiful and is expanding even more by the looks of things but the real gem is the staff. They are amazing, so friendly, polite and efficient. Would 100% recommend any time. Thank you!

We’ve eaten here twice now and each time the food has been delicious! We had the burgers 🍔 the first time and the second time it was the pork belly and the Moroccan style half chicken. Both full of flavour! Lovely atmosphere too. We will be back 😊

What a superb Mother's Day meal. This was our first visit. You never really know what to expect when you're visiting a pub for the first time, especially for a meal. We couldn't have been more impressed with the quality of the food and the service. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful, and the meals were delicious. An absolute bargain special Mother's Day special menu too! We'll definitely be back.

Booked a table for 8.15pm via their app, simple quick & no fuss. Arrived 15mins beforehand, served drinks quick even though it was a busy Friday night. Was sat at our table shortly after, food was ordered, served & eaten within the next hour. Service was spot on, food was amazing & the atmosphere was buzzing! Look forward to going again! Great place 😊

Indian restaurant
On their first visit, the experience at Le Spice Merchant Indian Restaurant was fantastic. They made a reservation in advance and were promptly seated upon arrival. The drinks and appetizers they ordered arrived quickly, were well presented, piping hot, and incredibly flavorful. When it came time to order their main courses, there was a short waiting period before being served with absolutely delicious dishes that were also beautifully presented and piping hot.
After them being my go to place for a takeaway for a while we celebrated our newly gained freedoms to have a meal inside a restaurant with a short trip to Le spice merchant. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and the seats were comfortable. The service was attentive, polite and the food.... well the food tasted even better than I remembered. There are plenty of 5 stars reviews and it is not a coincidence. Definitely the best Indian food in the area. If you think about eating out and you are undecided or just visiting the area Le spice merchant is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended!

First time visit and it was fantastic. We booked in advance and on arrival we're seated quickly. Drinks and starters were ordered and arrived quickly, the starters were piping hot, and well presented and fabulously tasty. Once the mains were ordered there wasnt long to wait and the main courses were absolutely fantastic. Again well presented, piping hot and really tasty. Pricing was really reasonable with two guests having starters, main and drinks for under £60. The owner was really nice and hospitable, explained an unfortunate malfunction with his card machine and offered us a free drink for the inconvenience. I would highly recommend Le Spice for in-house dining or takeaway as the food is superb and the service is excellent.

My first visit here with my wife after hearing lots of positive reviews from others. The reviews were spot on. What a lovely place. The food was served in a timely manner and was hot and tasty. The service was absolutely first class. The staff were all very attentive and helpful throughout our visit. We will definitely be returning for another visit as there's plenty on the menu I want to try. Thank you once again

One of the best indian valentines we’ve had yesterday as our usual indian had a electric burst. This amazing Indian restaurant fully licensed we didn’t know about always thought it was just takeaways! The decor is absolutely beautiful i would highly recommend anyone to visit this establishment highly!

Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. We ordered the food at 7pm and it said it would arrive at 7:40pm but it did not. So I called the restaurant and asked where the food was, I got told the delivery driver had already taken it. So I asked wheres my food then? Then the man I spoke to on the phone went to check in the back and came back and told me actually they had a printer issue with their delivery machine so my order never got packed or taken by a delivery driver! Then he said it would take another 45min - 1hr for delivery or I could come and collect in 20min. Went in to collect but it still ended up taking another hour, and I asked for a refund but manager just told me he'll do it later. Which he obviously HAS NOT. Manager said we would be compensated but we have not!! Very very disappointed will not be coming back here. Also containers were hot but food was cold so had to warm it up at home. If I was not so hungry wouldn't have eaten the food. It literally took over 2 hours just to get the food. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We ordered on Uber eats, we've just moved to Wellingborough and was worried I'd never another good Indian. You were the first one we've ordered and I can't believe you are now in my favourites. Food was a bit later than it said but usually Uber isn't accurate. Food came piping hot and delicious. Large portions we got given a extra poppadom which I demolished. Very impressed and not a bad price at all. Thank you for our lovely first takeaway in Wellingborough!

I thoroughly enjoy dining at June Plum Food, where the goat curry is a must-try. On my recent visit, I also relished the delectable pork belly. The children's mac n cheese with rice and peas was generously portioned and served piping hot. The restaurant boasts a fantastic atmosphere with a laid-back and enjoyable vibe. Although on-site parking is unavailable, it may be possible to find space on the main road. Additionally, they provide baby changing facilities.
Very welcoming and relaxing and the food was delicious and authentic. Huge range for vegans which is why we initially booked. Ordering was easy done via barcode scan and selecting on phone even option to pay via PayPal which we found good. The food portions were large and we were able to box up and take home what wasn't eaten there, which was quite a lot as wanted to try everything! 🙈 will deffo be returning and highly recommend!

I have been wanting to go to June Plum for ages and wow was it worth the wait. I can see why this restaurant has such a great reputation. The menu is great and has a good variety for all food requirements, cocktails were tasty and ambiance was good, but I would've preferred to be downstairs personally as upstairs is quite small. Would highly recommend 👌🏻

Had a great meal tonight. The dirty fries with jerk chicken were out of this world as promised. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we will definitely be going again. 👍🏼😋

I was cold when I walked in , but hot when I left! Food is BANGING! Stopped for lunch and basically left with heavy eyes for the rest of the day! Wholesome good food... Curry goat was seasoned perfectly, no salt n pepper involved at the table 😅, goat was so tender 😩😩🤯🤤🤤. Dumplings I normally prefer them a bit sweet, but still... Banging! The plantain... Shut uuuuuup! Sweet, crispy and delicious. Oh and the home made ginger beer packs a punch! Love it! Will defo be back. 🤤

With all the reviews on the place we was dissapointed too receive our meals tonight which was supposed to be jerk mixed veggies which may well have been but it consisted of a brocolli cabbage and some random stem and some sweetcorn i was expecting alot more of a meal for £13. They did offer a 15percent discount too use upon my return.... wishful thinking 😕

I typically order JP as a delivery, but wanted to have a nice evening dinner a couple nights ago. Really enjoyed the new Jerk chicken spring roll. Had wanted to try the homemade Guinness Punch but unfortunately it was sold out that night. There was a bit of a service wait on the food and drinks at times too. Overall the food still was amazing and would eat there again, perhaps at a less busy time of day in the week
Jaleel Hudson — Google review
A very nice restaurant, friendly service but there was something missing from the food. We ordered a few things. The jerk chicken was nice and smokey, not much of a kick from the jerk sadly. The jerk pork was missing the jerk unfortunately. Really nice pork belly otherwise. The rice was a little soggy but I appreciated the coconut milk in it. The Patties were good but missing some salt in the beef patty. Must be said, they smelt amazing. It is really nice food, just wish it had a little more oomph.

We were looking for an authentic Jamaican restaurant, wow, we were not disappointed. This restaurant has everything you want for a fabulous evening. The food is mouth watering and delicious, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The selection of rum cocktails is amazing. We all had the jerk goat, it was melt in the mouth amazing. The sweet menu looked awesome, but we just couldn’t manage another bite. Highly Recommend.

If you're craving a taste of the Caribbean that's as authentic as it gets, look no further than June Plum Caribbean Restaurant. From the moment you step through the door, you're transported to a culinary paradise bursting with flavor and vibrant energy. One of the things that sets June Plum apart is its incredible selection of authentic Caribbean dishes. From savoury jerk chicken to mouthwatering oxtail, every bite is a taste sensation that will leave you craving more. Each dish is lovingly prepared with traditional ingredients and recipes that capture the essence of Caribbean cuisine. The atmosphere at June Plum is simply unbeatable. The restaurant has a cozy yet lively vibe that makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or flying solo, there's a welcoming warmth that envelops you, making every meal feel like a special occasion. What truly sets June Plum apart, however, is its unique feel. The restaurant exudes charm and character, with vibrant Caribbean decor and music that transport you to the islands with every bite. It's a dining experience unlike any other, and one that keeps me coming back time and time again. If there's one area where June Plum could improve, it's in the speed of service. While the food is undeniably worth the wait, faster service would only enhance an already exceptional dining experience. That being said, the attentive staff more than make up for any delays with their friendly demeanour and genuine hospitality. Overall, June Plum Caribbean Restaurant is a gem of a dining destination that I can't recommend highly enough. With its delicious food, inviting atmosphere, and unique charm, it's a culinary adventure that's not to be missed.

I really enjoy eating here, the goat curry is a go to for us. We visited again last night and loved the pork belly. I’ve included a rubbish photo of the generous and hot portion of the childrens mac n cheese with rice and peas. I always like the atmosphere and chilled fun vibe inside the restaurant. There isn’t on site parking, but you may be able to squeeze in on the main road. They have baby changing facilities here too. Worth the visit if you want some flavour with your dinner!

The Miller pub, a place unfamiliar to the speaker but visited for Sunday carvery, offers customers the choice of small, medium, large or kid-sized plates. The process of being served is efficient as tables are called up by number and waiting times are minimal. With four meat options including beef, turkey, pork and gammon, patrons have a fair range to select from. The vegetable selection impresses with eight options available.
Lovely food and good service. Value for money, too. Don't understand why you can only have a max of 4 out of 5 meats though, if you buy the large let us have all the meat!! We thought it was a little chilly in our bit of the restaurant, we sat near the conservatory, hence 4 stars. It's a nice carvery and we'll be back!!

Great availability managed to fit us in Sunday lunch time with just a phone call. Bar/restaurant had a really welcoming vibe. All the staff were attentive and friendly. Carvery was lovely, a massive selection of veg too compared to other places. Good value for the price paid
Tamzin Reed — Google review
Lots of spaces to park although it seems to still get full. A garden out the back with a few children's play items. It gets very busy so it's better to book. You can do this online.. Come through the front door and wait to be seated. The waitress will then take your order, and if its carvery you get called up to the counter. Service was quite slow and we found ourselves waiting for ages before being called despite booking. You then have to queue at the carvery area which was quite packed as you're stood in the Isle. Food was OK, although the mash tasted like it has been blended 3 tines, and the potatoes had nearly completely hit the deck. The food was very soft and squidgy which goes along with their primary target audience which appears to be the older generation. It's a great place if you have hours to kill, sitting in a small room with quite a few pensioners. A quick Sunday lunch it isn't..... !
Jamie Ward — Google review
Not been here before but popped in for the Sunday carvery. You choose your plate size, small, medium or large and or a kid size option. Getting served was OK as called up by your table number, and it was only a short wait. 4 meats on offer, beef, turkey, pork or gammon so a fair choice. Veg was really good with 8 choices. Obviously roast or mash potatoes, a good selection of sauces, gravy etc and don't forget the Yorkshire pudding. I enjoyed all of my food no exception I will definitely visit again as also good value for money. The only thing I would like to change is the conservatory setting. It needs blinds. Here we are in April on a warm day and it was to hot, I wouldn't want to eat in that section in the summer

Went Saturday and wasn’t too busy. Was served in about 15 minutes which was good. Food was very tasty. Will come again to try the carvery. Would recommend
hannah Gibbons — Google review
Went for thw Sunday carvery, it was awful. The meat was very dry, soggy, tasteless vegetables and the yorkshire puds were made with some strange mix that made them dark yellow and rubbery. Never again! The staff were very efficient and attentive. The pub was extremely noisy and people let their kids run around in and out the outside door, which they didn't know how to close. Very annoying!
Mel Lewis — Google review
Burger was tasty, though the crispy chicken strips weren't crispy - more like nuggets. The chips were among the worst I have had - floppy and a bit rubbery, like they had been sat out under warming lights for quite a while, or reheated from last night.
Rob Sandy — Google review
Well cooked meat in the carvery today and vegetables up to the same standard as usual. I had the ice cream sundae for dessert. It is weird to say the ice cream was too cold... the perfect temp for ice cream is -5 it just seems like it came out of a normal freezer at -20. Not a complaint as my freezer is that temp too but I like to let it melt a bit before I eat it

Unfortunately I have to say The Miller has gone downhill. We went on Mothers Day, expecting it to be busy, but after our visit I know why there were empty tables. Staff weren’t looking very happy, the young brunette girl who served us was quite rude actually! Carvery wasn’t very hot, not a massive selection of veg and beef was overcooked, although the roast potatoes were nice! Had to send 2 desserts back due to coming out incorrectly, but the apple crumble was nice. When issues were raised to the waiters they just brushed it off with attitude. Sorry to say we won’t be returning.

People have been recommending this pub for a while, and finally made the visit! It's way bigger than I thought, plenty of seating in the bar, restaurant, atrium or even outside! The inside is clean and well presented. Welcomed and seated by Roberto who promptly took our order for drinks and food. Our order arrived promptly, food was great and Mandy took very good care of us. Reasonable prices, good value for money. Highly recommended! Will most certainly be visiting again soon!
