Fascinating .Some fantastic artefacts and gorgeous pottery. There's even some description in English . The Museum is a lovely space to soak up some of the archeology of Sozopol from 6000BC onwards .

Nice touristic place with old building which is very interesting and beautiful restaurants arounds and with sea view, the restaurant are quite pricey let say for a slice of cake you have to pay 9 LV and for main course like the picture i put below 6 pieces of gambas around 17 to 20 LV and for me personally the taste of the food is ok not a wow, but if i should choose old town Nessebar and Sozopol i would go for old town Nessebar because it is more nicer more old building and way more things to do for tourists and more cheaper food

Great little museum with good explanations. Thracian Greek Roman Ottoman and Byzantine artefacts. A lot of pottery
jeremy kalous — Google review
There were a few pieces of pottery that were beautiful with art, many Greek artifacts. However the whole 2 rooms that this museum was happened to be filled with nothing more than pottery and Amphora, Amphora EVERYWHERE! I was told by many friends that while visiting Sozopol that I must visit this museum for many amazing artifacts they have, including the body of a suspected vampire, however when I went they did not have any of the artifacts that I was told about. The tickets were expensive in my opinion at 7 Lv(bgn), so I was uneasy at the price for what we were able to see. There was very little description for any of the artifacts that were in the Museum, and what was given a description, was not even in Bulgarian, or English, they were in French. Was not very pleased at all.

Interesting museum, I loved small clay figurines. Amazing!
Ingrid Ingrid — Google review
I asked to join a tour with a guide, because it was written as an option in the price list, even though the price was 10 lv. The person had no idea when such tours would be possible and advised us to "just read the descriptions"... The descriptions are not always really clear, sometimes missing. Also in each room there is person just standing there to "watch" ... We cant constantly complain that our museums dont have enough income, and at the same time not to offer any simple added value to make them attractive for the tourists. The region has a great history, it's a shame that we cant present it properly!

One of the best museums along the Black Sea. Amazing artifacts left by the ancient Apolonians. Definitely ask for a lecture: the guide is an archaelogist and will tell you amazing stories.

Nice old town, but some bars play music very load through all night, ear plugs don't help against this bum-bum, great discomfort..... and authorities do not care. Also it would be good to have showers on the central beach. Otherwise the old town is very cozy.

(Translated by Google) One of the most favorite places in Bulgaria. Although in recent years there has been an increasing effort to modernize and commercially absorb the area, the old part of Sozopol continues to keep its spirit, the authentic houses, the streets, the shops and the romance with which it has been known for generations. The city has an ancient history, which is told by a number of sites, churches and chapels. The small fishing boats are still standing on the harbor side - such a popular sight from the old postcards. Many artists could once be seen painting the landscape around the various corners of the Old Town. Now they are rare, but nevertheless, the art continues to be present, through various concert and artistic performances in the amphitheater.

Great menu, friendly service and excellent recommendations from the staff. They serve mussels from the farms opposite the restaurant - it doesn't get fresher than this. When we were there they played quiet and relaxing music, which we appreciated at the end of a long exciting day. Also the views to the islands simply beautiful. ❤️

Nice place in old town. Location: the restaurant is located in old part of Sozopol. It offers one of the best sea views in town especially when the sun goes down. Request a table next to the window. Atmosphere: small cost place with 7-10 tables, well maintained and clean. Service: the gentleman was very polite and professional. He did not say that all food is good, pointed few dishes only which is better than stating that everything was perfect. All the unclear moments were clarified and the reaction was very professional. Food: the quality and price are ok. Of course the price is a bit higher and it’s understandable as it’s the high season. In general I’m satisfied with the place and definitely can recommend it.

If you are looking for traditional Bulgarian food this place is a great choice. Everything is delicious, and the slow roasted lamb is to die for. The atmosphere is very pleasant for such a popular place in the center of the old town. There is live music in the evening , however it is rather subtle and tasteful. The service was in line with everything else, so all in all you are in for a treat.

The food tastes amazing and the place itself is very authentic and nice to spend some time. The serving is fast considering that the restaurant is very big. I recommend to go early in the evening is you don't want to wait in the line to get a free table. Prices are a little bit above the average of the area but it totally worth it considering how tasty the food is cooked. Highly recommend the place.

I went there 3 times in one week. Yes, I liked it that much. Staff is amazing, fast and super friendly and kind. All three times I was mostly served by Luben and he was giving us amazing custom service with a smile - always checking up on us and explaining the menu thoroughly. The food always comes very fast and is delicious. I tried many meals and loved all of them. Atmosphere is great too. You can sit inside or outside on the terrace or next to the street, and all are comfortable. Overall I recommend going there - it’s worth your time and money.💜

Starting with the waiter (Teo), who was such a nice guy, with a great fluent English, very attentive and nice, the overall experience was good. The food is great, the terrace upstairs was nice, the portions are good and the homemade bread is also great! We tried chicken and pork (kavarna) and everything was good! We had the dessert some other place just to try different places.

Salad and dishes that contains meat are good, recommend using images on menu as was difficult to read it, we used google images to order several dishes. We where suprised to have no pickles in menu. Bread with cheese is amazing. Tanama not that good, but in all places was not very tasty. We liked that the music was not to lowd, in order to avoid crowd best is to eat before 19pm. Overall a nice experience you may try.

The restaurant is very causy and traditional Bulgarian style. We have been made aware about the lamb at the entrance and we have not been disappointed. Super lean soft tasty a dream. As a started we took a cold Jogurt soup and traditional Shopska with house garlic bread. Concidering the quality and the service level this was a very nice treat. I recommend to listen to the people if you are not sure. They will guide you quite good and fairly. This restaurant focus is in quality and friendliness. Highly recommended.

The Windmill restaurant in Sozopol, Bulgaria offers a truly exceptional dining experience. The service is consistently top-notch and the food is always delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from. Their efficient and speedy service rivals that of fast food chains, ensuring that your meal arrives promptly. The menu features unique dishes like shark, which has a smooth fish-like taste. Appetizers such as baked goat cheese with sweet slightly bitter jam and sliced fig are also available and highly recommended.
Good restaurant in Sozopol. Recommended by 2 friends. Great view from the restaurant balcony. Good dinner for 30 BGN. Good, fast service. A very big portion of Black Sea Mussels with pesto (very delicious) for 12 BGN. Would visit again. Was happy to be seated on the 2nd floor because I was away from the live singer.
Stoil Stoilov — Google review
Very good location in the old town Of Sozopol with amazing view towards the sea. The staff is very polite and quick to take orders & serve. We liked the salads which were rather big and arrived very quickly. The main dishes however lacked seasoning and hence had no taste. Another reason for the lower stars is the location in which were seated after we made a reservation in advance. The space was overcrowded and there was absolutely no air circulation. In the meantime tables in a much more pleasant area of the restaurant were empty.
Yoanna Ivanova — Google review
Really good considering other experiences in Bulgaria. They brought all the food extremely fast, like could be competing with fast food chains fast. I tried shark, which tasted like pretty smooth fish. Others had various meals and everyone was happy. I also tried appetizer, choosing baked goat cheese with sweet slightly bitter jam and one sliced fig. Chocolate tort desert was terrible, just like piece of chocolate, nothing special and definitely shouldn’t be called desert.

The restaurant was beautiful, lively, with great music. However, it took them a while to bring our food but in the end it was very tasty (in their defense, it was packed) and the bathroom was in a rough state. Ah, but let's not forget the stunning ocean view. 🌊😁💕
Maria H — Google review
Another place serving embarrassing food. The standard oil on the table is not from olives. If you ask you get something low quality olive oil looking green and tasting strange. The fried bacon on the salad was cold and tasted terrible. In total everything far from what you get in other Bulgarian cities.
Dirk E. — Google review
The location is awesome, I suggest getting seated on the second floor as there's a great view of the sea. Everything in the menu is delicious and amazingly cooked. Service is top notch and staff is always friendly and charming. Definitely among the best restaurants in the Sozopol.
Simeon Adirkov — Google review
Great wine selection, and food. We had the very tasty mussels, bluefin fish on the BBQ with a side of grilled vegetables, and the lamb with (chop liver and rice). The lamb was great, the liver and rice was lacking something.
Richard Gilmore — Google review
While is sozopol for a few days I researched which are the best restaurants in the area, and the Windmill was highly recommended. The restaurant looked nice inside and we were quickly shown to our table. Looking at the menu I had some questions for the serving staff and maybe due to the language barrier things where not fully explained, but that is something I understand and is not the fault of the staff. The first course of food, cheese Pete, which is cream cheese with thin slices of garlic bread was amazing, then I asked for more slices and received stale bread. And this is when the tables turned. I ordered the mixed grill and my wife orders the BBQ ribs, the food turned up quickly and everything was as you should expect. Part of my mixed grill was a pork skewer and that was tastie, but burnt, but I like it that way, the rest was very poor. The pork chop was dry the sausage was dry and the very tastie meat pattie was also dry, my wife had one taste of her ribs and again it was dry. When paying the bill we spoke to a member of staff and mentioned the poor state of the food and they totally ignored our issue and continued to ask about payment until we had to demand he explain that this part of the meal was not correct. 5 minutes later a person came and spoke to us, he did not introduce himself but asked what was the problem, we explained and after another 5 minutes the meals in question where removed from the final bill. I know this is a long review but the only way I can explain our visit was this way. End point, beautiful restaurant, some rude staff but kind management. For a place that is not that cheap, the grill options where sadly poorly over cooked.

We stumbled upon this place by accident during the off season. Although it looked closed from the street, when we ventured down the steps it was actually quite busy. The lady serving us was lovely and helpful in picking out a lovely bottle of wine. The starter of stuffed tomatoes was lovely and fresh. The chips were perfect cut and crispy. The homemade dips were so nice and different. The fish was perfectly cooked and the homemade batter on the chicken and walnuts was gorgeous. However the best part of the meal was the homemade pavlova, it was to die for! We almost ordered a second serving!

Had some lunch here, the place is a bit on the expensive side (which makes sense considered of its location) the food was good but the fish was a bit overcooked and dry on one side. The cheesecake was good but had a really sweet sauce on it that kinda ruined it, if it was just a bit on the side it would have been better. Really nice waiters and a great view.
