Pub
Takeout Restaurant
The Three Crowns is a popular pub in London that offers live music and other events, as well as plenty of outdoor seating. It's clean, bright, and busy, with an excellent doorman who does a great job.
Beautiful pub and restaurant on the Barbican with a huge menu offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. We went for a mixed combo platter to share and some dirty fries all including the kids meals are huge so go in hungry! Tremendous value for money we can't wait to go back again soon. Roasts served daily 🔥 Great range of beers 🔥 Bar and app ordering facilities 🔥 Kids eat free 🔥 Live music 🔥 Live sport 🔥 We visited while there was live a saxophone player outside the atmosphere was ecstatic.

Great place to stay. Rooms are done lovely great place to take in the sounds and watch the world go by. Ideally located. Not a place for those that like quiet but ideal for someone that's a city dweller already or wants to be around the action-me. Surprised the council permit the noise from cider press & nightclub but I still had a great night sleep with the window open but I was very tired. Booked to go back again. Breakfast is amazing and the small plate food ideal for sharing.

Amazing stay, super clean. Modern room with facilities, very vibrant and loud scene outside till late at night but knew that when booking so no issues, but guess what, they thought of that in advance and supplied earplugs, genius. Oh and the poached egg and avocado on toast, simply divine.. will be going back.
Graham Keetley — Google review
Popped in for drinks when the unrelenting rain got heavier. It's a smart looking pub with plenty of customers for a rainy Thursday afternoon. There was tennis on the TV screens, music playing and a big group enjoying the afternoon. Right on the harbour, with lots of outside seating. It's not a quiet place, and I expect it gets very lively during the good weather. Drinks were good and service friendly.
David — Google review
I enjoyed my stay here. Nice evening meal freshly cooked. The breakfast was great. Staff are nice and friendly. Only 2 minor gripes, I had to ask for towels and there was no cup for the coffee from the Tassimo coffee machine in the room.
Ken Rowe — Google review
Nice place to enjoy a beer. They have all kinds of special beers to try. Also ordered some food. I had the "combo platter" which was very good. It took a long time to get our food but luckily we had the time. Nice setting with a view of the harbour. Also nice to see are all the motorcyclists who come here to enjoy the terrace.
Rowan van Vliet — Google review
We had a fairly large group looking for lunch and the staff handled it fairly well. A few items seemed to be delayed, but that could simply be due to the number of orders and time it took to prepare the food. I'd love to go back sometime when it was just me or perhaps only a couple of people. The club sandwich that I had was delicious and everything else looked wonderful as well!
Colin MacBryde — Google review
An old haunt of the 80's /90's in my single days. Changed layout, obviously but still a nice looking place. Time of visit, sat outside for a drink, good harbour views plenty to see. Didn't eat there but the food looked good. Will definitely try a meal there when time allows.
Tim Slee — Google review
Busy noisy but clean and bright and lots going on. Right on the Barbican and plenty of outdoor seating to just chill on. Very nice doorman doing a grand job.
Ahrlene Fuller — Google review
Amazing find! We were in Plymouth for a function and decided to stay here rather than a nearer chain hotel. The rooms are great and the food and drinks brilliant! Would definitely recommend and stay again next time I'm here
Kevin Turner — Google review
We were a large party of 12 who were visiting during the British Firework championships. Although it was obviously busy the food was quick and delivered hot and it all looked very delicious. I had the chicken fajitas and they came out sizzling! It was beautiful done and the plate was well an truly emptied. Seemed quite reasonable for the price. I can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay. But, will be visiting again when we are in Plymouth again
James Naylor — Google review
Beautifully presented rooms in a lovely pub right on the harbour side. Staff are friendly and the breakfast was really nice. Our room was large and attractive with sea views. Facilities included adjustable heater, air con unit and a fridge for keeping your drinks cool.
S W — Google review
Starters/tapasy type meals were the best portions and quality that I have had in a long while. I had belly strips, chicken strips, and scallops. Recommend these dishes...as a quick lunch bite.. Music though is too loud and not nice for a lunchtime pub environment.
Bodilly Mill — Google review
Fabulous bar. Enjoyed drinks outside in the sunshine. The service was fantastic. We'll be back soon.🥂
Mick Woodcock — Google review
Dog friendly pub with a lovely feel to it. The staff were all professional and very helpful. The service was on point and efficient. The food was great with plenty of choice. I booked ahead for a table but you can just walk in. No star rating for rooms as we did not stay in the hotel section of the pub.
shaun — Google review
Stayed here for 1 night as a last minute getaway for my partners birthday. We had the king suite deluxe and we were so impressed with the decor of the room, lovely and clean with great amenities. Staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough. The view from the window was beautiful we were overlooking the barbican. I sat in the window in the morning to eat my breakfast. The breakfast was lovely so much choice. Definitely will be coming back again. Highly recommended 😃
Corina Williams — Google review
Not the cheapest of places on the Barbican for a drink but at their quiet times a comfortable, pleasant premises with views over the harbour. Great selection of beers & Sports on tv's. Not eaten here, but food being brought out looked nice.

Pub
Bar
Warren House Inn is a 19th-century moorland inn with oak beams and open fires, serving real ales and hearty pub-grub. It is located between Princetown and Moretonhampstea and is well known for its hospitality.
Great country pub and a fantastic place to start or finish your ramble across Dartmoor. Friendly team serving well kept good beer, good food, in a warm environment complete with a log fire that has apparently been burning since 1845! Parking is along the moor road, or in car parks a short walk away… well worth driving out to!
Dan — Google review
Good old pub which retains original features. The fire has been going continuously for 177 years now (used to be peat, but now logs). Good selection of beers and food. Plenty of seating indoors and a nice view of Dartmoor out the windows. Friendly staff.
William Mahy — Google review
A wonderful little pub overlooking the lovely views of the moors when on a sunny clear day. Parking is limited and beware of the sheep! Though they run away if you get to near. Inside the bar has two beautiful open fires which one has been burning for many years. You can sit in the bar or chose to sit in the dining areas or outside if weather permitted. Well decorated with old pictures of the place on the walls. Nice simple menu that you order up at the bar. Had the cheeseburger with came with chips and a small salad. And sticky toffee pudding with custard. The chips were yummy! But I didn't think burger was worth it's price. The pudding was nice although the top was slightly burnt so could taste that. Food is nicely presented. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would come back again as its a little treasure of a place.
Rachel AC — Google review
A real no nonsense pub. Ramblers, dogs, children, the works, all welcome. A good range of beers and ciders, honest no nonsense, very tasty pub grub. A 150 year old fire, a bleak and rugged view, what's not to like.
Charles Mitchell — Google review
This is a pub in its purest form. Warm and welcoming staff with a great choice of drinks and pub grub - much needed after hiking around the local Tors. The building feels very retro, especially inside, with a lot of original features which gives the pub a certain charm. The views from the outdoor seating area are stunning. Definitely worth a visit!
Nick Vernon — Google review
The Warren House Inn, nestled in the heart of Dartmoor, is a true gem that offers a delightful dining experience. I was captivated by its warm atmosphere and the breathtaking view of the surrounding moorland. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the roast dinner and the pub's location truly sets it apart from the rest. As I enjoyed my meal, I couldn't help but gaze out at the panoramic vista of Dartmoor. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, ensuring that every guest felt welcome and well taken care of. Whether you're seeking a relaxing meal in a picturesque setting or looking to explore Dartmoor's wonders, this pub is an absolute must-visit.
Yuval Krikman — Google review
Dropped in for a drink whilst driving across Dartmoor. It's in a very isolated situation but with glorious views across open moorland. There is outside seating but we chose to sit inside. A nice pint of Otter ale. The famous fire was a welcome sight.
David Crouchen — Google review
Had great long walk to waterfall we called on off chance for dinner, no problem they said. Lovely home cooked food, good size portions, great drinks range, log fire, classic old style pub snd great service! Mask needed, Perspex sectioning, they’ve gone to great lengths to try and keep everyone safe, we really appreciate lengths they go to and will be back!
Jonty Solomons — Google review
The food was okay - excellent quality ingredients but nothing crazy! The real gem is the atmosphere. It's so cosy and welcoming, especially after a long walk!! And there was a lot of information about the history which my family and I enjoyed a lot.
Liv Carus — Google review
This was such a lovely pub all the staff were friendly and kind. They welcome dogs, even a very large one like mine. They came out to give him a treat and were happy to let him eat a sausage as we ate our food. The food was incredible. I had the rabbit pie and I haven’t eaten such a good pie in years. To top it all off my dog got a little sick probably from al lathe water he drank while on our walk on the moor beforehand and when I he was sick they didn’t get annoyed or stressed, they simply came over to provide me with a small tub and some tissues to sort it and then even disposed of it for me after. 10/10 place make sure you visit!
Phil Langford — Google review
Went in here after me and the wife went for a roam on the moors. It was a misty and wet day this pub was a cosy sanctuary. The fire was alight and the food and drink was great. Would definitely recommend If passing by has a long and rich history.

Perfect place for after a walk up Dartmoor. The food was excellent - highly recommend.
JONATHAN HAMMOND-WILLIAMS — Google review
This is a must do visit if you are in the area. Sunny days you can sit outside pub or across the road on benches to take in the fantastic views. Colder days there is plenty of room inside with the fire burning. Friendly barman, great beer and cider choices, a good lunchtime menu and a biscuit for the dog! Highly recommend
liz johns — Google review
Lovely atmospheric pub, wonderful views over Dartmoor with warming fire. Food was wonderful, good honest fare. Steak baguette was just what needed after morning on the moors - children's fish fingers was large portion, well worth it. Under 14s only allowed within specific room, so be aware when visiting. Dessert was a wonderful apple and raspberry crumble. Staff all friendly
Hugh Boucher — Google review
A gem of a old pub. And a warm welcome from the landlord. Our dog was very welcome which was brilliant. Our dog took to the landlord straight away, so that's all I needed to know. Had a lovely pint of ale and a jumbo sauage and chips. A very warm atmosphere and the smell of the open fire was just perfect.

The Dartmoor Inn is a 16th-century inn in the heart of Dartmoor with chic and stylish B&B rooms. The kitchen is run by Jay Barker-Jones, who has been serving refined British dishes since 2019.
My husband and I visited here for lunch when we were staying nearby in Princetown with two young dogs after a very windy walk in the middle of a storm. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Lunch was delicious, we had a couple of sandwiches and chips. The sandwiches were deep filled and the chips were perfect. You got a real sense that the staff and the owners cared about the customers experience and they enjoyed they're job. I would highly recommend a visit here and we will definitely return.

We came here for my partner's birthday and had a wonderful time! The wine was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced, especially for the quality. We're both vegetarian and the food was amazing! Lots of vegetarian options and each one we tried was better than the last! Would highly recommend for a special meal ☺️

Everything about this place is absolutely wonderful. You walk in and are greeted by not only gorgeous decor in cosy surroundings but also very friendly staff . We were a party of 5 one of which is vegan and its probably the nicest vegan food she has had outside of a city. The food is so well presented and tastes divine. If you are in the area I recommend you book in , we will certainly be returning, highly recommend !

Where can I start. We were greeted straight away and offered the opportunity to put our cases in our room despite arriving early. We were then offered drinks. There is a lovely sitting area near the patio garden. The bedroom had lots of little extras that make all the difference. We had a fridge with local fresh milk, water, a wide range of teabags and good quality coffee and drinking chocolate. The bathroom had lovely large fluffy towels. Lovely soap products. Now for the dinner, I can see why they are in the Michelin guide. Our party had The Belly Pork, The Lamb, and fillett steak. The food is absolutely delicious, all cooked to perfection, with the most amazing sauces and jus. See photos for presentation. Now for breakfast, we started with granola with local farm yogurt, fresh orange juice, the onto a full English breakfast, the quality of the products used and the cooking and presentation of the food is fantastic. This was all served by very attentive staff, providing great customer service.

Wow, what a find. I am local(ish) but stayed with friends travelling through overnight and we were blown away. The food is to die for, exquisite. Wine list imaginative and full and the staff so friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, well-equipped and spotless. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Alexandra Douglas-Jones — Google review
The lady at the bar was really friendly and professional as she was aware of our allergens and sorted it out perfectly with no issue. Unfortunately they forgot to bring the bread and butter that we ordered before out mains even they were late. We understood the situation as they were clearly short of staff. The mushroom risotto was absolutely a delight. Loved it
Khalid Dassia — Google review
Visited here between Christmas and New Year with a group of friends following a walk. Friendly staff and lovely food. We were given a small room to one side as we had a toddler with us which was nice and didn't have to worry about the toddler running around. Fantastic menu, with fresh produce; will be visiting again.
Keikei Tsang — Google review
We booked an early lunch so that we could head off to Lydford Gorge afterwards, and although we were the first to arrive, it soon got quite busy so we were glad we booked. The service was really excellent. Because we were slightly early we had some drinks in the garden area, where we were brought menus for later. When it got to our appointed time we were invited through to our table where we placed the order for our meals. The food was exceptional. I had wood pigeon as a starter as it’s something I’ve never tried and it was absolutely fantastic. So perfectly cooked with a rich sauce. For main I opted for the venison, which was again superb. Cooked so that it was still just pink on the outside and accompanied by a selection of different vegetables. I was really happy with my choice and can heartily recommend eating there. I had a pint of Otter and a Dartmoor IPA while I was there and they were both really great pints.
Jason Hubbard — Google review
A superb treat for a birthday meal with family and friends. 8 of us had delicious food and all perfectly cooked and presented we couldn’t fault anything. We had a room to ourselves with a wonderful log fire. It’s a beautiful warm and welcoming pub with a great atmosphere. Hoping to be back soon.

Great place for posh pub food. Portions aren't huge but just right if you have a starter, main and dessert. The food I had was perfect, as was the service. You do pay a bit more, but the food is high quality. I'll be going back.
Alan Howe — Google review
An exceptional meal, including one of the best fish courses ever. Measured and V professional staff (who even learnt the kids names, a lovely touch) superb ingredients and cooking. All in all a really good stop off and well worth ten mins off the A30!
Matt Roberts — Google review
I n c r e d i b l e food. Just lovely, easily the nicest fish dish I've ever had. We loved talking to one of the owners and learning how they set up the place and the care and attention that goes into it. Cannot recommend this place enough. Excellent food, excellent service and the in-laws paid for it.
Joel Tennant — Google review
Food here was beyond expectations. The starter and main courses were perfect in terms of taste, presentation and intrigue. We had the smoked haddock arancini and smoked duck toast to start. The arancini had such depth of flavour and an excellent texture that can sometimes be lacking. The smoked duck toast came with foraged mushrooms, a creamy sauce and little rolled up slices of perfectly cooked smoked duck. The pork main came with pork belly, nicely rendered to a satisfying bite, and just pink tenderloin, along with complimentary accompaniments such as a light red cabbage. The venison was excellently cooked and topped a haunch ragu which was an excellent surprise, and almost like a second main course in one. The crispy kale was surprisingly tasty, and the butternut squash puree kept everything bright. All of the above for a competitive pricing for quality of food deserving of its place in the Michelin guide over the past few years. We wouldn't hesitate to return instead of trying any new restaurants if we came back to the area.
William Moore — Google review
Very interesting and well decorated Inn. Came here for a drink and sat at one of the little tables by the bar. Would definitely come back for food in the future, seems like the perfect place to visit if you as out and about in Dartmoor area

Have eaten here several times in the last year, both lunch and dinner. Food always consistently excellent. Yesterday we had Sunday lunch, with myself having perfectly cooked halibut steak on a risotto base, and my companion having crispy roast pork. Always friendly helpful service and welcoming for dogs.

Recently, I stayed overnight at The White Hart Bar and Restaurant, where I had a delightful evening. The establishment offers a fantastic selection of beers on tap. The staff members working in the bar and restaurant were exceptionally friendly and attentive, although the service was slightly slow due to high demand. The next morning, I enjoyed a superb breakfast in the pub once again served by the great staff. I am eagerly looking forward to returning soon.
We enjoyed a lovely meal before going to see Wonderglow. The weather outside wasn't great, but this place is warm and welcoming in a beautiful location. The food was tasty and delish with a good selection, but the service was a little slow. The belly pork and halloumi were stand out. The chilli sauce that came with the halloumi tasted homemade and had a nice heat and whilst the sweet sauce in the belly pork starter could have been too much on its own, with the meat or some bread it was very moreish. The burger was filling on a lovely roll, but maybe a little too much chutney. Looking forward to going back in the summer and enjoying a meal and a walk on a summers day.
Alice Gunn — Google review
Over priced. I understand that it is stocked with local producers items but doesn't really suit the needs of the customers. £5 for a pint and £4.25 for an apple juice is just greedy.
Liam Thompson — Google review
Excellent service and awesome food, very friendly and helpful, only card payments, no cash
Mark Burton — Google review
It could have been a lovely evening in this place while we were on holiday in South Devon. The place is very picturesque and so romantic but the story changes when it comes to service and hygiene. The staff need to have more training in hospitality industry and food hygiene.

It was such a wonderful afternoon. the sun was shining. The food was delicious.. my little boy loved running around.. Great fenced field for my dog to run free and safe.

Staying overnight in the Hall I spent a lovely evening in the pub recently. They have some great ales on tap. The bar and waiting staff were very friendly and attentive although it was busy so the service a little slow. The following morning I enjoyed an excellent breakfast in the pub. Again the staff were great. Will hopefully be back again soon.
Simon Stephens — Google review
You know when, as a customer, you feel like *you* are giving good customer service because the staff aren't? All big smiles, nods and every politeness you can muster in the hope that they reciprocate, if even just a little... Specifically I'm talking about the breakfast team who appeared to be less thrilled to be awake and at work as I was. One female staff member in particular made it pretty clear she was doing me a favour by taking my room number. Didn't point me in the direction of the food, didn't ask if I needed anything, just turned around. Anyway, that can be overlooked. Or maybe it's part of the charm. The breakfast was surprisingly good... The sausages were excellent and the mushrooms were an unexpected delight. The eggs were overdone and the bacon sweaty and flaccid, however. The coffee is served in a large urn, and was rather burnt and bitter both mornings I was there. The evening bar staff were a different story, chatty and personable and the range of beers excellent. The space itself is impressive. They've turned the structure into something resembling hogwarts canteen. You can, and should, take your breakfast outside onto the lawn to get a full appreciation of the architecture.
Adam York Gregory — Google review
A 14th-century pub in the grounds of Dartington Hall. They offer an extensive choice of drinks and a small but varied food menu. The food itself is top end pub grub and very reasonably priced. My only gripe is the speed of service. I dined there three successive nights and, on each occasion, had to wait between thirty and forty minutes for the food to arrive at a time when the pub wasn't particularly busy. This was a shame as everything else was pretty good.
Keith Bell — Google review
A really good vegetarian Sunday lunch. Popped in with some friends and were warmly welcomed with quick service and quick food. Everyone enjoyed their meals and they were more than willing to help with gluten free options (most of the roast was already gluten free). We were also allowed to bring the dog in so bonus.

A return visit to the White Hart after a considerable time and very pleased with the improvements to the menu and standard of service. Good to see the place busy again, much more balanced menu catering for all tastes, great selection of locally sourced foods, beers and wines. Great team of guys who looked after us all evening, such a beautiful and stunning location on a gorgeous evening, well done guys, will definitely return

We popped in for lunch on a rainy day. It was very quiet. Cosy, warm, and welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive, but not over so. We both ordered a main which was tasty and beautifully presented with fresh vegetables, al dente. But the Apple Crumble was the star! The best I have ever eaten. Compliments to the chef!
Natalie Emery — Google review
The staff were friendly courteous and attentive so 5* for them but generally the place seemed to be understaffed. Having ordered our food we had to call a waiter over to say we had been waiting for 40 minutes for our food. After another 5 or so minutes our food was brought to us and although the quality couldn't be faulted all of it was lukewarm and the cauliflower cheese was actually cold. ( After pointing this out we were offered a fresh portion but turned down the offer as it would probably have arrived after so had finished everything else.) We suspected that the posted goid had been standing in thr kitchens for some time forgotten about. In order to avoid this sort of situation arising again I feel more staff need to be employed.
Margaret Bailey — Google review
The food and atmosphere were surprisingly mediocre for a setting as magnificent as Dartington. It’s difficult to rate the service. Two of the three staff members we met were friendly and conscientious.I’d give them 5 stars. Our principle server however, was on the arrogant side. In spite of that, I decided to leave a good tip. He then approached me at the bar when I was paying the tab and said “cash tips are preferred”. I explained that we are from out of the country and didn’t have any British cash. It was an awkward ending when we were trying to be generous after a forgettable meal. My advice, dear readers, is to consider the negative reviews. Service and food quality seem to be hit or miss here.
W B — Google review
A very disappointing evening meal booked to follow a (great) early evening film at barn cinema. Clearly short staffed - 55min for food to arrive from time of ordering. Food itself very average - despite selecting from specials board. Chef explained weird pale sausages as steamed then grilled. Waiter apologetic, waitress attempted to deliver wrong food to table & got the drinks order wrong. Venue in the main bar area was cold despite sitting next to the only lukewarm radiator. It will take a hell of a lot to persuade a repeat visit any time soon.
Andrew Harker — Google review
Recently went for a festive lunch. Lovely place, but deserted when we arrived and lacking any atmosphere (no music ☹), asked for table by fire, which was glowing by not exuding any heat 🙁. Meal was okay but not outstanding and despite advertised as from £19 on website we were charged £29.50 for 3 courses, which I wasn't too happy about and would have chosen a different venue as this is one of the most expensive festive lunches around. Have sent email about this but no response...so far. It is a stunning venue but I feel everything should be stunning too..maybe I just expect too much!!

Experience the allure of The Horse, a renowned pub nestled in Moretonhampstead on Dartmoor. Its inviting ambiance, complete with luxurious leather sofas and a cozy fireplace, has captivated locals and visitors alike. This establishment boasts a thriving following thanks to its rustic charm and prime location. However, it is the Mediterranean-inspired menu that truly seals the deal for discerning food enthusiasts.

Nice pub with really good pizzas. Also the frittata is really good. We enjoyed our stay. The waitress was very friendly. We definitely will come back and recommend.

This is a great pub, which also does fantastic food. The front bar is friendly, relaxed, and a traditional British pub. There is also a more modern but still nice restaurant to the rear. The menu is a varied a la carte as well as an amazing range of handmade pizzas, and a separate lunch menu. The range of drinks is good, and staff are friendly and attentive.

One of the best pizzas I've ever had, one of the worst desserts. Lovely environment, Eastern pizza was lovely on a light, crisp base. Ice cream was a bit of an insult and not cheap.

excellent in every way! The chef here is outstanding. The Indian inspired cuisine is delicious. Wonderful staff and service
Richard Dale — Google review
The food served here is top notch and I would recommend the chicken meatball pasta dish over the pizza (which I also tried on another occasion). The other dishes aside from the promoted pizza are excellent in flavour. Unsure why pizza is promoted so much on the menu when Berto’s next door is better for pizza. Mix of friendly and not so friendly staff. Go for the other stuff on the menu, it really is fantastic!
