A very beautiful and preserved church from century XI. This is an important and unique Roman building that is worth a visit. One of a kind due to its rectangular structure (not in cross-shape as it usually is).

Visited here on a day trip when docking in Porto Torres with Tui cruises.Basically there isn't a great deal to see or do in this dirty place.Having said that the beaches are clean but the town has dog mess everywhere⅞. Anyway we found this little place which is about a 20 minute walk from the town centre.It was built between 1030 and 1080 and has two apses facing each other.Refused to pay the entrance fee but from what I could see it there wasn't much to see inside.If you are religious then this may be for you.

Very few and not reliable on site services. It's possible to go around with guided tours on 4x4 which anyway pollute. The best way is to walk/cycle/rent an electric car. Avoid July/August. For trekking consider May/late September.

Avoid this place if you see any chance for rain. There are no places where you can sit down during the raining. Only a few restaurants on the island so you do not has a the possibility to choose.
The place it self beautiful but for a full day program I recommend only on a hot summer day when you can enjoy the sun and the beaches!
Beautiful park unique experience with all the donkeys walking around especially the albino ones. Please make sure you rent bikes either on the island or in Porto Torres. Since biking enables you to see all of the island. There are also a few beaches you can visit if the weather is nice. In the off season there is only 1 restaurant open please keep that in mind and bring your own lunch water etc.
The place is simply the full experience. Historical sites, breathtaking views, beautiful beaches, wild animals and the remains of a prison system. It's a must see if you're in the area.
Nice 0lace to visit with kids, get train and you will find good explanation for the park.

It really is a must see in Stintino! Be sure to go there in early/medium June, since the colors of the plants are great and the water is not too cold. Best cala to have a bath in is near cala reale. From fornelli It takes about 1 hour and half to reach it. Overall a really nice trip!

Must-see, beautiful nature and very one of a kind natural park. The website has many useful information, but only from the Internet it was not totally clear in advance that by yourself you cannot really visit the island it is rather recommended to book a tour.

An amazing structure and well preserved by the weather. Don't bother with the archeological museum as the woman will not accept credit cards as she is pocketing the money herself, It can also be seen from the road.

Enter via the dirt road from the Sassari-Porto Torres motorway (the other direction is closed). Pretty well kept site despite no fees or services. Remains of roman time roadways and ancient burial sites. Def. Worth the trip.

Pretty cool place but I would consider this an "on the way trip." It is on a dirt road, and parking was not difficult. We stopped at agritourismo restaurant near by and this place popped right up. It's is a small hiking event. I'd be cautious with small children as they can fall right through the holes in the ground. But their are about a dozen catacombs to look at. Overall it was pretty interesting and a decent place to take photos, and look at the mountains.

Great to see. Not much there but a good sense of history in the area. You can climb in the tombs if you dare. Read up about it on the net. There is no signage just a place among some rocks.

Nice restaurant with very good price.Location is next to the stairs of the basilisk but other than that not much of a view. But cute terrace with nice lighting and decor. We ordered two seafood starters and two mains. The portions are quite big and prepared very well. Besides the standard bread, they also give very delicious foccacia sticks. Downside were the shrimps, which didn't seem fresh and had a strange taste, but the menu did say some seafood could be frozen if they weren't in season. Too bad because I ordered the scampi and shrimp platter. The servers were very attentive, friendly and fast. The restaurant was full but they still switched the 'empty shell' plates from the seafood platters every time they almost gotten full and came to fill the glasses timely. I'd definitely recommend the seafood stew.

The outside Terrasse is very charming, it is secluded be the trees and it hugs to the old stairs of the San Gavino Basilica!
The food is really good and the portions are large! I had the taglieri and it would have fed me already, than I had the typical Sardinian gnocchi with Sausage and they tasted really home made!
The service is impeccable, precise, careful, and available for any questions!
I want to come back to try the menu! You need to be in 2 and you need to be hungry!

It's a cosy restaurant that's very popular with the locals. You should book a table in advance because the place tends to be very busy. I appreciated the service and the quality of the food. We ordered fish, pizza and the risotto you see in my picture. All the dishes were well done, and the fish fresh and tasty. Prices are reasonable too.

This is one of those very rare exceptions - a popular and touristy place that managed to remain very, very good.
Excellent food, friendly service and atmosphere. They obviously serve mainly simple Sardinian dishes, but it's just all very good. We were very happy to stop there on the road, and would recommend it to anyone.
We had a beautiful day at this restaurant! The staff was very kind and welcoming. They explained the history of some of the dishes and we even got a tour of the kitchen and the fire where they roast the pork (which was delicious and locally sourced).The radishes, for example, were literally farm to table. We then had a post lunch walk around the lovely grounds. Highly recommend!
The food is classic cuisine and done really well. The service was really friendly. The entire experience was perfect - eat generous portions of fantastic food at a pace that allows for talking and drinking. And the prices are very reasonable!

There are also very interesting and tasty vegetarian options, all following the tradition. Reasonably priced as well. Massimo was extremely kind and made us feel very welcome. An awesome experience overall - highly recommended if you find yourself in the Porto Torres area.

Honestly the food here is amazing. Traditional Sardinian dishes that are so flavoursome and fresh. Despite our very basic Italian we were able to order a number of dishes to share amongst our party of 6 without any difficulties. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The chef came out to ask us how the food was and personally said goodbye on our way out. Every dish we ordered was thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely going back when we return to Sardinia.

The roasted mixed meat plate was disappointing, as it was pretty chewy.
The oven cheese was very overpriced for slice of cheese in simple filo...no spices or herbs that could have made it a restaurant Main course.
Staff was friendly but no "plus" in total.
After more than 10 days in Sardinia, I could definitely say that this is one of the best restaurants we had. The dishes were all exceptionally well prepared and the service was top notch ! If you need a typical Sardinian good restaurant be sure to check this one !
The food was tasty and prices are okay. However, the service lacks professionalism. Lots of young waiters who barely smile, ask how the food is, at the cashier you don't get a thank you etc. If the service was matched with the food my rating would be better. But we sadly didn't feel welcome.

We had an excellent dining experience at Il Mare, a hidden gem near Porto Torres in Sardinia. The restaurant offers delicious Sardinian-style spaghetti with seafood, and the service was impeccable. Although the restaurant's views were not particularly stunning, the charming garden provided a pleasant atmosphere for diners. One downside is that they are closed during siesta time. However, Il Mare stands out as one of the top restaurants in Sardinia due to their generous portions and high-quality dishes.
Maybe one our best restaurants in Sardenia. My wife and I had diner and the pasta were delicious and the plate was huge.
Yes it is 2 € more than in others restaurants but if you compare to the size of our plate and the quality, it s à great place we to stop.

Was looking forward given the reviews but it seems we were one of the unlucky ones. We came for lunch and ordered the Peter’s fish (1.5kg, catch of the day). The fish had a weird odour (my wife felt it immediately but I had a cold so decided to go on eating). After lunch both of us felt sick until the next day. Shame
The best Calamari fritti we hat so far here in Sardegna. The grilled Vegetables were perfectly seasoned and the fried potatoes crispy and juicy at the same time. Grazie Mille 😋
We ate in Il Mare great dinner (Sardinia type spaghetti with sea food). The service was perfect. The restaurant is hidden a little bit, but it's very near Porto Torres centre. It has nic garden, not very spectacular views but still it was very nice to sit there. Unfortunately the restaurant is not opened during siesta time.

I felt sick and had to vomit after having dinner at il mare!!! So, obviously the seafood was not good and not fresh!! This is really a No-Go for such an "established" seafood restaurant. I had the mixed seafood plate as secondo, so something there was not fresh!! This was our last evening in Sardinia and it spoiled the food experience we had during the entire holidays :-(

Never really knew Porto Torres as we usually come and go off the boat at the harbour. Great view of the outdoor area but with a roof so you’ll enjoy the breeze. Seafood is fresh and staff are very friendly! But at the end it took a bit long for the bill but the place is very good overall!
Absolutely loved this restaurant and would go back in a heartbeat. I wouldn't hesitate to say it is the best restaurant in Porto Torres. Having an amazing meal overlooking the water at sunset was definitely a highlight of our trip. The seafood risotto (paella) was amazing. We also loved the rosemary potatoes. Definitely make sure you grab a glass of the house red wine, we took a bottle home afterwards. The service was also notable. Our server Luca was fantastic. He was very attentive and we had great conversations with him about Porto Torres, the food and the wine. The restaurant should feel very lucky to have him, he made the experience nothing short of exceptional. Thank you again for an amazing meal and fun night! Regards from Canada.
We arrived at the restaurant and from the first moment, even not speaking Italian, they were very efficient, I didn't know the city, I was passing through to a nearby region to finish our tour around the island, we decided to stay overnight in a hotel in the city, which by the way were very helpful also. We can only enumerate positive points, no detail that could be bad for the moment, great variety of dishes, I super suggest going through the city and visiting this restaurant, and toast to the super view of the beach that is worth anything.

Fresh salad seemed to be left somewhere for couple of days before serving. Deep fried vegetables (some bits of cauliflower and zucchini) helped to take away hunger, at least.
Thanks god we bought some prosciutto, bread and cheese for breakfast in the supermarket before, will be happy to complete this dinner at the hotel, as all this obviously was not ok.
One star for location, second for the glass of wine, at least those 100 grams of liquid could not be spoiled.

I visited Bar Sport Ristorante twice because I enjoyed the horse steak, which was delicious. The prices were reasonable compared to other restaurants, and the quality of the food was good. The ravioli was also excellent. The owner was friendly and sociable with clients. I found a bar in a small square where I had dinner at 6 PM, which is considered late for Italians. The location offered a nice view of the square, and the server spoke English well and provided efficient service.
We went there twice because the first time I eat horse steak and It was delicious.

We found a bar in a little square and ordered dinner at the ungodly hour for Itlians of 6PM! It was a nice location overlooking the square and the young lad serving us had excellent English and was very efficient. The ricotta was huge and it was a lovely meal although no cold beer for me as I had to drive back to the hotel.
