Takeout Restaurant
Twenty Seven, a renowned dining establishment in Kingsbridge, is helmed by local chef Jamie Rogers. This eatery has been recognized as The Best Fine Dining Restaurant in the Food Drink Devon 2022-2023 awards. Jamie's culinary creations are of an exceptional caliber, and patrons can indulge in either A la Carte or tasting menus. The food not only tastes exquisite but also boasts impeccable presentation and utilizes only the finest ingredients that have been meticulously sourced.
Absolutely superb food - not only are you eating with your eyes (see pics), the aromas and explosions of flavour were mind blowing. We will be back to try all the dishes we missed.

A wonderful lunch in the upstairs restaurant at no. 27. The outside of the building is deceiving but it is delightful inside. The menu choice and flavours were a delight. Highly recommended amongst the other Michelin restaurants in South Devon.
Jane T. — Google review
We came upon 27 by accident, looking for lunch and what a find! It was the best food we’ve had in ages. We don’t often do Michelin star restaurants but this compares to those we have visited. Every course was a real treat.
david wallis — Google review
We’ve been to lots of restaurants all over the world and this place blew us away! Four of us had the tasting menu and dish after dish was a knockout! We even had someone with us who is very fussy and she ate everything that was put in front of her and loved it. The staff were lovely and made our experience perfect. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Loved it! We still talk about it a year later.
Luke Cardy — Google review
Superb fine dining! Excellent friendly, knowledgeable service! An exquisite evening with food and service from people who really care!
Benjamin D — Google review
Had an amazing, fine dining experience here. We booked as a treat and because they had a specific vegetarian tasting menu - it didn't disappoint! Such delicious food with lots of variety. An enjoyable experience all round!
Bridget B — Google review
Wonderful wonderful. The atmosphere, food and service that Jamie, Claire, and the team deliver is outstanding. Fantastic Michelin star, quality food, with knowledgeable, friendly staff, who know what they’re bringing to the table makes for a memorable occasion. I don’t think you can get better anywhere in ISouth Devon than this. Thank you x

We had high hopes with this place, but we didn't love it. Whilst the presentation of the food was excellent and beautiful, the food, especially the main (duck breat and beef fillet dishes), were extremely salty. I love salt, and this was just too much. Salmon entree way too salty. Scallops/pork belly was OK. Creme brulee guess dish was good. Salmon ravioli was not good (hard pasta and just strange) The atmosphere would have been better upstairs as we were downstairs. Waitresses were sweet, but we could see and hear their conversations by the bar. Expensive especially as I told them about the Iver salted dishes (they said, "You're not the first person to say that, but its the bine marrow." I didn't have any bone marrow!! Poor experience, I am afraid. Please take note, when someone gives constructive criticism... Tell the chef and offer us free drinks or coffee!! We spent £250 on the bill. We won't be going back, I'm afraid.

Just back from a fabulous 5 course surprise tasting menu at Twenty Seven. It was a fantastic meal - every course was delicious. We had the wine flight too and drank some excellent and very reasonably priced wines. The service was very professional and friendly. Only 3 stars on atmosphere because sadly the restaurant was quite empty - but it is a miserable February midweek night. So glad we ventured out to eat such a great meal.
J Williams — Google review
A really lovely restaurant in a pretty coastal town. Jamie’s is a gem! Comfortable and stylish, friendly and knowledgeable staff excellent menu , fine wine list. Service was prompt and the food stunning to look at and amazing to eat. This is Michelin level cooking without the outrageous price tag.

Attended this fantastic local find last night to celebrate my anniversary. Claire and the service team were fantastic and the food is out of this world! This as my first fine dining experience is one that I will never forget. The tasting menu was perfect offering a journey of taste to excite and tantalise our palates. The wait between courses offers a good amount of time to reflect on the previously consumed food and allows time to anticipate the next meal. The servers are knowledgable, professional and offer a top class service, my thanks goes out to them for making our night so delightful. An absolute must for a fine dining experience. Thank you all so much. We cannot wait to return. 💕

It really didn’t live up to expectations. The service and ambience was good, it was such a lovely space, I also appreciate the work that went into the food. We had the canapés, they were delicious, although the blue cheese crème brûlée was a bit odd. Then came a ham and chicken roulade - which in itself was very bland, one of two we ordered stunningly for an ambitious restaurant, came with a broken egg which had run over the plate - not even a cheap breakfast cafe would serve that, we did love the bits of pickle and pineapple gel with the dish though. Main for both of us was pork belly with bubble and squeak - the bubble and squeak was lovely but very small and the purées smooth (too much of the apple though, it was overpowering) the pork belly was 90% fat which was extremely unpleasant, I love the fattiness of pork belly which makes it juicy but I like it to balance with the meat, this meal just had mouthful after mouthful of flaccid greasy fat. The main was also pretty bland. I love the confidence of a chef who doesn’t put salt and pepper on the table - that says they know that the seasoning is bang on but this so wasn’t the case, everything was so under, I’m sure I would’ve enjoyed it more with an extra sprinkle of salt and pepper. If you’d come in for two courses of the set lunch you would be leaving still very hungry, both courses were taster sized rather than full dishes. I was so excited to eat here, and if I was in the area I might again but I wouldn’t travel for it. I do hope they sort the issues because the space and chef deserve to shine. Response to the restaurant comments: I’m sure you are offering something unique. I’ve eaten at many Michelin standard restaurants on a set meal and never gone hungry though. I absolutely didn’t forget to mention that it was a £22 for three courses lunch menu - you can see the picture showing that’s exactly what it was. If you’d come expecting a two/three course lunch for £15/£22 you’ve come expecting a meal for that not a snack - paired down, cheaper ingredients and less technique but none the less a meal. Add in £12 of sides the price point is very different. And as you can see we had the canapés for £12 a head so it would have taken a £15 lunch for two courses plus canapés to £39 in total - a completely different pricepoint, okay but definitely not what was advertised. Just be honest with your diners if you know that your meal won’t be enough and that they’ll absolutely need sides. We chose to eat with you based on having a two course lunch that we believed would be enough for £15. You can see that my review referenced the work that went into the food, and we were both very impressive with that. Clearly you are very talented and as I said I wish you luck. I stand by the comments about the pork….I appreciate the time and effort on the pork - the fat was totally perfectly cooked but it was still a portion of fat and that’s not my thing. I’m delighted that 98 others were happy with the pork you cooked that week but we weren’t which is why it was mentioned in my balanced and honest review.
Tracey Beeck — Google review
An absolute gem! We had the four course tasting menu with canapés to start. Each course was expertly crafted both in flavour and presentation. My favourite dishes were the creative canapés (especially the Creedy Carver Duck Cigar), lobster ravioli and lemon meringue tart. We can’t wait to return.

Renowned for its reputation as one of the top spots to indulge in tapas in the vicinity, The Old Bakery is a charming establishment with cozy spaces. Picture picturesque cobblestone patios adorned with twinkling lights and intimate dining sections that exude a contemporary Middle Eastern and Mediterranean atmosphere. With a diverse menu featuring beloved dishes like Babaganoush, Chicken Souvlaki, hummus, and calamari, it's highly recommended to gather some friends for an unforgettable shared feast.
Absolutely incredible food, accommodated me and my wife although they were busy and we hadn't booked. Everything was so fresh and vibrant and the place looks great as well.

It was our first visit last night and we’ll certainly be back. We thoroughly enjoyed all of our items, each excellently prepared and tasty. Would highly recommend.
Stuart Kelly — Google review
What a wonderful find. A charming tapas restaurant tucked away through a cute courtyard. Lots of quaint areas to eat inside and outside. Tapas were all lovely and generous portions. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Judith Shaw — Google review
Booked fairly late in the day and we were very pleased to get a table. The food and flavor combos are bloomingly lovely, especially the sticky chicken in pomegranate molasses, which was amazing! 🤩 The team very knowledgeable, they base their interpretation of tapas and seasonal variations on good local produce, with a great selection on the menu, which is complemented by dishes of the day. Gutted they had ran out of the cauliflower 😕 We had a lovely warm greating and made to feel welcome and it was nice to see a young family that felt relaxed enough to play cards post dinner, along with friends groups chatting till service ended, all with no pressure to move on. It was relaxed, but attentive enough that you felt well looked after. We had a lovely bottle cabernet sauvignon to accompany our choice of 7 dishes and they even indulged me in my twee request for an Irish coffee. It's a great little place for two, a family evening or to meet friends for a catch up whilst indulging in top nosh.

The food was brilliant, the staff very helpful, advising what to order and how much, which made the experience very relaxing

My sister and I went to dinner at the Old Bakery last night and it was brilliant. I'm a vegetarian and she isn't, but we got plenty of little bits to share and it was all delicious. I don't think the prices were bad. The service was good and it was really pretty inside, we would definitely go again! I particularly enjoyed the bean and beetroot salad.
Nicola Johnson (Nikki) — Google review
Excellent food, really tasty, amazing selection (and for veggies) and great atmosphere - highly recommend this place! Service was slow that's our only complaint, but it was fairly busy

Yet another fantastic meal here last night. The food is always fantastic and the service friendly and welcoming. For my partner and I, it’s our favourite local restaurant; every visit the food and service is always consistently top notch!
Mark Smith — Google review
Lovely tapas resturant in Kingsbridge, we drove the 15 minutes from Salcombe and it was 100% worth the trip! Parking is pretty easy in the town and this place is just a stones throw from the water. We had a variety of tapas dishes and a nice bottle of red. All were delightful and I really enjoyed the variety of flavours. Favourite dishes were the scallops, gambas and I personally alway love padron peppers. All in all very tasty and reasonable, a very flavoursome meal for 2, with drinks and tip for around £90.
Daniel Smith — Google review
Absolutely loved it!. Lots of choice which is lovely when you're Vegetarian 🥰 will be visiting again very soon
michelle Brewer — Google review
Cosy little restaurant that serves tapas. Very friendly service that made us feel welcome. The food was good, but a little overpriced for what you get. I'd expect more than 6 prawns for £6.50... still, the salads were plentiful and everything tasted great. It's a pleasant enough place for a nice relaxed lunch.

Indian restaurant
Maha-Bharat Indian Restaurant provides an outstanding and high-quality dining experience. Despite being fully booked, the restaurant's staff were welcoming and professional, offering guests the choice between takeaway or in-house seating in a pleasant waiting area. The food was exceptionally delicious, with a variety of sauces and chutneys accompanying the starter pappadom. The vegetarian curry with garlic nan was especially appetizing, as was the lamb biriani with vegetable curry.
I have to say, the service here is exceptional. I have never felt so well looked after in a restaurant such as this. The food is very good and the decor sharp (not sure about the lighting in the gents.) Food is pricey but worth every penny.

Busy on a Wednesday night? Good sign! Service was excellent, very attentive to the children in our group describing the dishes and specials carefully. Food was very good, King Prawn Tandoori excellent , fresh ingredients and good depth to spice blend. Well worth a visit on a wet Wednesday!
Joseph Roulland — Google review
We ordered from here as we are camping. Food was OK. Both curries were nice and the rice was good. Poppadoms were soggy as anything you could fold them in half and the chips were also soggy. Not sure the French fries go with a curry either. Probably wouldn’t order from here again.
Lucy Wilks — Google review
My favourite restaurant for takeaway or dining in! The food is always impeccable and the staff are incredibly polite and attentive. Never had a bad experience here! I can’t recommend it highly enough. Love love love.
Charm Murphy — Google review
Honestly probably the best Indian I've eaten in, and up there as one of the great restaurants. Food is cooked fresh and they are so knowledgeable and flexible to account for dietary restrictions. The staff are so lovely and know their menu so well. Couldn't recommend it any more highly.
Tom — Google review
The best Indian meal we’ve ever had! The staff were attentive and knowledgeable and helped us make our choices- the menu is vast! The food was sublime and obviously freshly cooked. The place was full by about 7.30 so book early to avoid disappointment. 😉
Jennifer Charnaud — Google review
Had to make quite a journey to get there. Not disappointed in any way. It does get busy at about 7 but heck if you are good, and these are, you do fill the covers. Perhaps go after 8 if you are not prepared to wait. We didn't, I therfore had to talk to wife and kids.😉
Colin West — Google review
Food was good, a very solid Indian that I would recommend but the staff made this place with their attentiveness and knowledge of the food and catering to preferences!
Alex Eales — Google review
Honestly I don’t think you could find better service anywhere in the country. Always an absolutely wonderful experience to eat here, the food cooked in the clay oven is particularly phenomenal but everything is delicious, made and served with immense care. Couldn’t recommend enough!
Grace Papenfus — Google review
Anything you desire cooked how you like it, will be done, you cannot fail to be impressed with the food, service and politeness. I wish I lived near to the restaurant rather than 239 miles!. I don't usually comment on how pretty interiors are as personally I'm not that bothered but on this occasion I noticed it, the whole establishment is very clean and perfectly decorated with ambient lighting. For the tastiest Indian meal for miles around, why not visit?.
Alan Crump — Google review
Excellent top class service! enjoyed Sunday evening dinner in here. We didn’t have a booking, restaurant was full, but very friendly professional staff seated us in waiting room to have choices of takeaway or seating in. It was great we stayed. Delicious curry, large range of unusual and yummy dishes. Average main around £12-15. Staff were a delight, managed to squeeze us in when we arrived without a reservation on a Thursday eve around 6.30pm. They were fully booked for the evening... Reservation highly recommended. Fabulous experience.

I had the privilege of visiting The Old Warehouse, a contemporary bistro with impeccable cleanliness and a micro brewery offering an impressive variety of local beers, including cider and low-alcohol options. The service was warm, hospitable, and efficient. The presentation of my Cornish hake dish rivaled that of Michelin-starred establishments yet was surprisingly affordable at £17.00. As someone who frequently dines out, I consider this place a hidden gem worthy of high recommendation.
This is a brilliant cafe/restaurant. Delicious GF food and lovely service. A nice place inside and two good tables outside. A real find. And they made us bikers feel very welcome.

Arrived late and Hina welcomed me, took my order and made sure I was well looked after. The pie was great but the steamed pudding was to die for. Thank you for caring for this tired bishop Bless you.

Great place for a small selection of craft ales and mead, plus a select range of food and snacks. Not cheap but good quality. Good that they support local entertainment and industry. A touch of class in Kingsbridge.

What a place!! Can't recommend it enough. Fantastic food, great selection of beers and wines and wonderful service. My new favourite place! Sam the owner is a great guy, Adam the head chef is incredibly talented and Hannah and the rest of the team made it a brilliant evening. Booked in to come back before we left! You must go here!!

I had the pleasure to go to The Old Warehouse after a local business friend took me there. I have to say that the service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient, the premises is modern style bistro and is spotless, they have a micro brewery with a good selection of local beers including cider and low abv for drivers. I ordered Cornish hake which was fantastic, presentation was like a Michelin star restaurant but was extremely good value at £17.00. We eat out a lot and I have to say that this is a gem! Highly recommend.

What a delight to find a restaurant that has fantastic service and amazing food at a sensible price. A menu that has something for everyone. Good range of wines, cocktails and beers. The fish really was 'catch of the day'...so fresh and melt in the mouth. All plates are beautifully presented and the hot food is just that and so are the plates! Friendly and professional staff and a lovely atmosphere.

Seven Stars is a contemporary, family-friendly establishment that offers locally-sourced cuisine in a conservatory restaurant, along with an outdoor terrace. Patrons rave about the exceptional service and delectable food offerings. The proprietor personally engages with guests, exuding a kind and pleasant demeanor. The menu boasts outstanding dishes such as melt-in-your-mouth pork belly and steak, as well as rich and flavorful Arancini infused with mushrooms.
The service and the food was amazing! The owner came to speak with us and had such a kind demeanour. The food quality was outstanding. The pork belly and the steak melted in my mouth and the Arancini was rich and flavourful with mushrooms. It was my birthday and they bought out a scoop of ice cream with a candle and sang happy birthday and we had a little plaque saying ‘happy birthday’ with my name. Such a great experience on our holiday. If we are ever back in the area we will be sure to book again.

Very nice staff and good food. The fish & chips and burger were delicious. In the kids menu would have been good to have another pasta option. Kids loved the tables you can draw on. We returned twice in the week we were in Devon. Thanks

After reading the great reviews we decided to book for Sunday Lunch. So glad we did as the food was amazing! Staff friendly and attentive. Highly recommend adding the cauliflower and cheese .

Friendly staff and overall nice food, but don't have the steak! £28 and it was flavourless and chewy. Double burger was very good and chips were nice but quite small portions.

Having been to them all, I’d definitely suggest that this is the best pub in Kingsbridge. Such a warm and friendly welcome, from the initial call for a reservation, right up to the bill, with lovely bar service in between. (And dog friendly…say no more!!) Food quality and presentation was certainly beyond usual pub fare and very well priced. Good selection of beers, not the usual rack of fizzy lager, and great selection of everything else; the restaurant wine choice was also very good, and we plumped for an excellent Albariño. But above all, the staff were wonderful; we were looked after perfectly throughout our visit, and will certainly recommend, plus would visit again when we’re in Kingsbridge. Thank you to all. Jon and Linda

Stayed a week in Kingsbridge, close to the Seven Stars. It's a lovely friendly pub, serving a good range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Great food too, and service from the staff was excellent, also dog friendly. Top notch bar and restaurant.

Had a lovely Sunday Roast here today on the outside patio area. Loved the new chairs and generally the place looked really great and newly updated! Menu looks really good and we’re Already planning our meals for next time! Also our server Alpha was just the sweetest and so attentive. Service from everyone was top notch!

Went in on a Friday afternoon. Had to wait 30 mins because they had lots of reservations. When we got our food it looked amazing, we got the burger, Vietnamese curry and calamari as a side. The presentation was incredible and the taste was even better. And I don't usually like squid. Highly recommend eating here. You won't be disappointed. Love to the team for the effort they put in.
Reece Gibbins — Google review
Very nice pub in the centre of Kingsbridge. Lots of tables outside plus plenty of room indoors too. Nice, varied menu and excellent service. We had baked camembert for two. A little more sourdough toast would have been good but otherwise very nice. Then we had fish and chips and grilled sole - both excellently prepared and served. We'd had an ice cream earlier so didn't have dessert. With two Aperol spritzes and a half of bitter, the bill came to £66. We wanted to give a tip but couldn't with our card. Management should rectify this as soon as possible. A very pleasant experience and well worth a visit.
