Nature & Parks
Mantigue Island, also known as Magsaysay Island, is a hidden paradise in Camiguin, Mindanao, Philippines. This small island spans 4 hectares and boasts powdery coral sand beaches with crystal clear waters perfect for snorkeling. Visitors can enjoy grilled blue marlin for lunch and the hospitality of the locals.
One of the nicest beaches in the Philippines..

With Clean Clear Waters and Fine White Sand, Mantigue Island is one of the best Islands in the Philippines. And the View of the Mountains of Camiguin was just Priceless. To get here we went to the Jump Off Point where we rented a Boat for P750 plus P75 each which i guess is the entrance fee. We were then Given a Receipt plus a paper with our Boat Number. The Island is just a few minutes boat Ride.

750 pesos for a 6 person bangka boat. My wife and I split the cost with 4 other people so that was nice. We spent about 3 hours on the island. 75 pesos per person to snorkel. We rented a 100 peso life jacket at the port but used our own mask. Sadly we didn’t see much coral or very many fish. No turtles. So much for the mantigue “marine sanctuary.” Head to Dauin or Apo Island for a much better snorkeling experience. Main beach is wide and the sand is quite nice 👍 Make sure to bring your own food and drinks.

This was a ton of fun! We had a great time here and the Island itself was really a great time. They ran out of snorkeling gear, and the lady renting it was kind of rude about it (that's the 1 star drop) but everything else was great. We got Fish and Chicken from the little restaurant and I have to say it was some of the best fish I've had in the area! Really awesome. The beach itself is limited, but still tons of fun, we walked to far hoping to get a hut away from people, but that's not really a thing, just grab one right off the boat and you'll be fine. We got there early which was good for huts because by the time we left at 1 they were all sold out. Should have grabbed our snorkeling gear right away too. Live and learn. Also, don't miss the little Jungle Walkway. They don't advertise it at all, so you'll miss it if you don't go looking. Just go being the building where you pay for the huts and stuff, there is a little wooden walkway that's starts there and takes you back in the forest area. Really pleasant little walk, maybe 10 minutes. Totally worth it.

Such a beautiful Mantigue Island, one of the best island I’ve seen. I love the crystal clear water. It’s not crowded. It’s too pricey i think and you only have 3 hrs to enjoy the island.

🏝️ A proper paradise on earth… Proper blue water with white sand and amazing vegetation. Very interesting snorkeling opportunities as well. Give a look to the whole island, you will find amazing secret spots! 💵 Boat of 4 people is 750 PHP so try to find other people to fill the boat to save some money! ⚠️ Don’t forget : water, sun glasses, suncream and rock shoes not to harm yourself with coral. Better to rent them before coming on the island.

Best snorkelling in PH away from crowds! Went from 10:45-13:45 on a Tuesday. As policy goes you can stay 3 hours unless it’s some special trip. Boat costs 750 plus some environmental fees, altogether we paid 975p. Totally worth it. Try teaming up with another group if u see one, boat limit is 6 person. Once arrived ashore, you can do the following; swim , chill, walk around (20mins without a rush) , take pictures and most importantly snorkelling! I saw 2 sea turtles, countless of various fishes, coral gardens, etc. world class biodiversity while hardly anyone around. No need for guide for snorkelling, but bring your own gear if possible. On paper there’s a snorkelling fee of 75p / person but you might not be checked. Bring at least 1.5L of water, better 2L per head. As of april 2024 the ugly i love mantigue sign is gone. Most thankfully. Don’t miss this one, as magical as it gets. In fact it’s better than the famous white sand bar.. imho

Surely an island of fire and fun. I had an amazing experience overall and traveling across the sea in a small boat is a memory that lives rent free in my mind. Make sure to bring sunscreen, hats, mesh scarf or thick scarf also! The island is very hot! Available on the island as well are hennas, fresh seafood, cottages, and there are even locals in the island make sure to walk on your slippers, bring lots of food, friends, and make memories.

Highly recommended if you're looking for a fine white sand in Mindanao. The islet has a policy of clean as you go which is really great to maintain its natural state. As of this writing, the boat rate is 750php for a group of 4 with 3hrs stay in the islet. Bring your own food before exploring, liquor is strictly prohibited in the islet

I had to zoom in closer on Google Maps to see this small island in Camiguin. We went here on a gloomy day via a shaky 20-minute boat ride. Its greenery welcomed us. Nothing much to see on the island itself, but I have to say you have to snorkel to see those giant, beautiful sea turtles! Maybe on a good day, you’ll see them laying their eggs on the sand.🐢 The island also has one of the best marine life in the country. I’ve never seen as many varieties of fish before.
Eizen Barleta — Google review
Great island and one of the popular tourist spot in Camiguin. This is a must visit. You need to pay for boat rental first (costs us 800 pesos as far as I remember). The island is clean and has white sand too. You'll get amazed with the view of the Camiguin Island in the distant. The sea is sparkling clean. You could even get to see the corals beneath while riding the boat going to the island. You just need to brace yourself because you might experience big waves (be mindful with your gadgets). The only thing I hate about it is the itch we felt while enjoying the water. I'm not sure what's in the beach surrounding the island and what little sea creatures bit us. Say hi to this orange cat when you visit the site ❤️

A must visit in Camiguin! 🏝️ The crystal-clear waters, powdery white sand, and vibrant marine life make it a paradise for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts! Took us around 20 mins. to get there and we paid around P800 for the boat (4 pax). We split the bill with other travelers to save. Definitely one the best islands I've been to. ♥️

It's a beautiful island with friendly locals. We circumnavigated the island in 45 minutes as suggested by our tour guide and it was worth the walk seeing the surrounding waters in the island. You can see nearby islands as well. Will definitely visit back. ❤️

This is island is such a gem. It has white sand with aquamarine water, way bigger than the other island in Camiguin, the White Island. There is more space for people here. Cottages are also available - with benches, table and roof - that can make your stay more comfy and convenient.

A must visit when in Camiguin Island! Despite being full of tourists, I still enjoyed my time here. There are proper facilities here and even shade from the fun compared to the White Island Beach. We had a picnic here and went for a quick dip. Do note that there I a 3 hour time limit here for each group.

Pizza restaurant
La Dolce Vita is a popular al fresco restaurant located in Mambajao, Camiguin, known for its delicious thin-crust pizzas and high-quality Italian cuisine. The owner, Alessandro, who hails from Italy, serves as the head chef and occasionally as a server. Despite being on a small island, this trattoria offers a wide variety of pizzas inspired by Alessandro's hometown and cooked in a wood-fired oven.
This is an authentic Italian restaurant, run by an Italian, right in front of Camiguin Airport. Pizzerias are common in Camiguin because of the foreigners who settled here. But La Dolce Vita, although more pricey than others, offer pizzas with quality ingredients, baked in a wood-fired brick oven. We ordered "Speck E Tartufo" (Php480) - truffle cream, mushroom, garlic and thick prosciutto - really good! Also recommended is their Ravioli (Php420) with a choice of Ragu (tomato based) or white sauce. And since most of the restos don't open until 11am, La Dolce Vita, which opens at 9am is also a breakfast choice for their really good, reasonably priced coffee. Order their American breakfast (Php250) - it's a big plate of bacon, 2 slices of home made bread, butter, jam, fresh slices of mangoes and banana. This comes with a glass of fruit juice and french-press coffee! In a far away small island that doesn't have big hotel resorts for breakfast options and dining, La Dolce Vita is a go-to place where you get your money's worth.

Convenient location just in front of the airport. We had diner here and lunch before our flight. The crust of the pizzas were indeed authentically Italian (thin). Really affordable prices and good portions.

Super good food. Best pasta I've tried in the Philippines & excellent service. Never leave Camiguin Island without eating here. 👌🏾👌🏾
Britney Iso — Google review
Despite hailing a chef all the way from Italy, I gotta say that the food is just average. We had 3 pizzas and some pastas. The pizza dough is generally very tough, not airy or soft at all. I felt like they could do so much better considering the clay oven they have. The pastas are also a miss unfortunately. The creaminess of one of the dishes was not authentic at all. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t go out of my way to write a bad review but I think that they could have done so much better with good simple ingredients, especially when the chef himself is from Italy.

Great pizza and pasta. Convenient location — right infront of the airport

We had a great dining experience here. It was totally unexpected for me to taste authentic Italian food on this small island of Camiguin. We ordered pizza, bruschetta, pasta, and some other stuff, and everything was delicious. It took a while for the food to come out, but you can see that they use fresh ingredients and prepare everything from scratch. You can even watch them prepare the pizza, which they cook in a brick oven. Great service and reasonable price. The place was rustic but clean.

The food was great! Some of the condiments might be rancid. The place is fast and the hospitality is good.

Perfect pizza but the pork ribs were dry. Mango and banana shakes are lovely. Just across the road from the airport, convenient and very worth the visit.
Belinda Bolger — Google review
The restaurant is beside the airport. Very nice pizza, we tried the pizza Tartuffo and its better than most of the pizza in Manila. The penefume was really good as well and had the right amount of cheesiness. The owner is very accommodating and kind, we enjoyed his company and really made the dining experience really well
Seb Salvador — Google review
Upon our departure from Camiguin we had lunch in La Dolce Vita right after leaving our luggage in the check in counter. We couldn't have had a better waiting time! The Italian owned restaurant offered 2 pizzas were tasty and not greasy, the 4 formaggi was fantastic. The restaurant was lively with the owner hosting a party for the kids, which made it a bit noisy but nevertheless enjoyable. They even shared a piece of cake with us :) But the best was still to come: a real, strong espresso to finish our lunch. Definitely recommended!

J&A Fishpen is a must-visit restaurant in Camiguin, offering delicious Filipino cuisine that will surely delight your taste buds. Conveniently located near Benoni port, it's the perfect spot for tourists arriving on the island. The restaurant boasts its own fishpen, ensuring fresh and flavorful seafood dishes. Whether you're craving tasty sloppy pizza or cold beer, J&A Fishpen has something for everyone to enjoy during their visit to Camiguin.
Best fish we had while on Camiguin. We had 2 types of grilled fish recommended by the waiter and fried vegetables. All were delicious. They needed to rebuild after the 2021, but the dining area is also nice, sitting right on the breezy lagoon.
Lindsay Renaud — Google review
At the time we went there, they only served limited food on their menu due to the lack of electricity after typhoon odette which is pretty understandable. The place is calming perfect for a quiet meal I’d love to visit again.

We love the tinola and kinilaw! Staff is very attentive too. The area around the lake has many restaruants, good place to dine after going to Mantigue Island. Food is a bit on the pricier side.

We returned to this restaurant after long time. In this day there were many diners and so we had to wait a long time for our order. Service was however very friendly. We especially enjoyed the grilled squid and the whole lapu-lapu fish. Tables overlooking the lagoon made a pleasant lunch with good views across.

J&A Fishpen delivers a unique and delightful dining experience. Their standout feature is the freshness of their seafood – they catch the fish right as you order, ensuring unparalleled taste and quality. Ambiance is stunning during the evening. The food is great but a bit pricey. Pricey but it was worth it. The staff who served us was friendly.

We went there after visiting Mantigue Island. For us was the best restaurant in that part of the island. We ordered, Calamares as starter and a local fish as main dish. We definitely would come back.
Mar?a Cuco — Google review
Honesty is not their policy. 1)They scam the customers on the weight of the fish. I paid 2250p for a small fish good for one person. 2) I was hard, almost not edible. 3) They add 10% service, whixh is not the use in the region. Very bad, don't go there.
Yves Grenier — Google review
food is really good and reasonably priced. however, we felt like the menu was a bit misleading. the paluto dishes were (reasonably) priced per 100 grams, but what they dont tell you when you order is that their smallest fish / squid available is 3kg, which would easily cost you around 4k!!! luckily we asked what the smallest size available was, so we were able to cancel our paluto order and just get something else. our favorites: eggplant with coconut milk, shell soup (very tasty and huuuge serving)

My first meal in Camiguin was here and it was a really memorable one! I asked the waiter for fish that is good for one person and told me, the Molmol and Lapu-Lapu, so I ordered one of each. Man, when I saw these being carried to my table, I was really shookt! I thought to myself that these are good for one family LOL! Since it was my first meal of the day, I finished it up in one sitting, but it was really filling. Imagine, the Lapu-Lapu weighs 750g, while the Molmol weighs 650g. Anyways, I requested both be grilled, so I can taste its purest flavors, and man, it's really really fresh and great, especially the Lapu-Lapu! It really has a distinct taste, which makes it so good, and it's also great that u can eat its skin! Also, shoutout to their cooking staff for perfectly grilling these fishes! The total bill was ₱1,900. What a splurge on my first meal in Camiguin right? But it's worth it tho!
Luwi — Google review
Woman at the entrance was more interested in her phone than giving instructions on where to sit, or who to talk to. So I sat at a random table for 5 mins until I got up and had to find a menu for myself. They only have orders for 3-4 people minimum. No options for less food. So I only ordered fries and they were the worst fries I think I’ve ever had.
Patrick Dussault — Google review
Lovely, lovely view and quietness. Food is great. Grilled bangus is exactly how I imagined it. However the food took forever. We waited over an hour for our food and we only ordered 2 things. It ate into our tour for that day. Wouldn't go here if you just need a quick bite.
Michelle Porter — Google review
Food is good. Though cost wise, it's on the higher end, with cost equal to the bigger cities of the country. Service was slow, but I think this is how it is in most parts of the province.
MD AB — Google review
Like any other people who actually come here, I went mostly for the view which was undoubtedly good (hnce the 2 stars instead of 1) BUT THE FOOD IS JUST SO OVERPRICED. Exactly 11 med-small pieces of shrimp then perhaps 2 small eggplants and around 5 pieces of baguio beans in their sinigang, 1 cup of plain rice, and a 280-ml soda ALL FOR 500 PESOS! I mean, if you've got money to spend on expensive seafood in Camiguin, then go ahead and drop by this place - just not me :)

KURMA Freedive Camiguin Eco Lodge & Resto is a laid-back beachfront hotel in Camiguin offering bright rooms with patios, sea views, and diving lessons. The lodge was founded by Christian Diggi Asche, a Level 5 free diving instructor who left his old life behind in Southern Germany to settle on the island. His business partner, Robert Garcia, also found solace in Camiguin after leaving Manila and being mentored in free diving by Diggi.

We only ate there. The atmosphere is great with a great view of the sea and sunset. The service was friendly. The food was good with a unique coconut burger and vegetarian karekare. The menu is not very varied or big but most of it is vegetarian which is hard to find here.

Very colorful and artistic decors inside and outside makes the place more interesting! The staff and even owner were very friendly and hardworking! Will definitely be back. They also offer room accommodation, freediving lessons and Yoga sessions.

Our time at Kurma Eco Beach Lodge was fantastic! The owners, Diggi and Robert, were incredibly welcoming, and it felt like we were part of their little "Kurma family." The rooms are simple but well-equipped with everything you need and very clean. The food was unbelievably delicious, with vegetarian options available :). The dishes were carefully chosen to incorporate local ingredients, and special requests were always taken into account. Diggi and Robert provided us with plenty of suggestions for excursions, and we were able to adjust them to our preferences. The lodge also arranged drivers or vehicles upon request. In short, we definitely would visit Kurma Eco Beach Lodge again without hesitation and highly recommend it :)!

Stayed in Kurma last November 2023 for 2 weeks, and it was a blast! LOCATION is already by the beach, which is clean and shallow. Great for morning and sunset walks, swimming, or simply chilling and enjoying the view. There's a Gypsy Rover in front of the dive centre, about 15 meters deep, where you can do underwater photoshoots. ROOM is cosy and neat. WiFi is also available for you to use (keep in mind that you are on an island, so power interruptions are inevitable). FOOD is divine! They do have vegetarian and non-vegetarian options with generous portion sizes. I frequently order the Kabayan, Kurma rice bowl with sausage, vegetable karekare, and banana-rolled pancake. I could never get tired of them! Don't forget to try their camote chips and banana muffins for snacks, mango pineapple shakes, and iced tea with watermelon for a very refreshing drink during the warm afternoon. I also craved a cold sikwate, and Lucy (the staff) was kind enough to prepare me one (now it should be on the menu, haha). If you're not a coffee drinker like me, enjoy the hot sikwate in the morning :) STAFF are very friendly and funny. Rose, Lucy, and Lhen have always been accommodating. During my stay, I was fortunate to be able to join the Freedive Camp. There were confined and open-water dives, plus activities to explore some of Camiguin's tourist destinations. Even gained friends <3 Under the guidance of Robert and Diggi, the instructors, I received valuable support to refine my techniques and uplifting encouragement during challenging moments. Their assistance played a crucial role in my successful completion of the remaining Wave 3 requirements. Thank you everyone, and see you soonest!

The food here was the worst on the island we’ve had in the last 5 days. The staff were nice and it’s lovely to sit out near the beach, but the food was awful. The omelette was thin with a load of soggy wet vegetables, inedible. Wet juice all over the plate and absolutely zero taste. I recommend going to hayaha down the road, same price but excellent western style food that’s exactly what you’d find in Europe or America.

Best vegetarian food on the islands. Good portions and taste just great. Service very friendly and courteous. Great freediving instructors who really know what they are talking about. It is really a family atmosphere here and we felt very welcome and in good hands. Thanks for that. We were there over Christmas and were very warmly welcomed like in our own family. Thank you Robert and Diggi we will not forget and miss you already.

If you love the water, Kurma Freediving Center in Agoho, Camiguin, Philippines is a must-visit! This gem not only offers top-quality freediving training, but also creates an unforgettable experience. Diggi and Robert, the instructors, truly shone with their passion and knowledge, transforming complex diving techniques into comprehensible lessons. They quickly went from instructors to friends, making our diving journey even more memorable. The location, set amidst a vibrant underwater paradise, adds another level of magic to the experience. The dazzling marine life and the crystal-clear waters create the perfect backdrop for diving adventures. The on-site restaurant, aside from offering a variety of delicious dishes, serves up unique and mouth-watering options you just can't miss. The vegan burger with a coconut patty, the omelette, and the choco-coffee are simply delightful. The local cuisine here is a must-try! Finally, what really sets Kurma apart is the warm, friendly atmosphere. The staff create a real sense of community, turning this freediving center into a home away from home. In conclusion, Kurma Freediving Center offers expert instruction, a stunning location, delectable food, and a welcoming vibe. If you're willing to be patient, Northern Lights Restaurant in Balbagon is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy a meal. They offer comforting Filipino cuisine with a touch of Western influence. The wait is definitely worth it as the food, ambiance, and staff are all exceptional. Whether you're dining with family or friends, this restaurant provides a great experience. Their menu includes dishes like kaldereta and tinola, as well as delicious pizzas.
Delicious and affordable food! Their grilled tuna belly was only 270, and it's good for 2-3 people. The tuna was really meaty and well marinated. Their garlic buttered shrimp was on the sweeter side, but it's good for me! You can also request for them to peel the shrimp before serving. Excellent service and great food!

This place is just one of the many restaurants in Mambajao, but I think this is one of the best out there. With this place always jam-packed during lunch and dinner, is perhaps enough justification. They have varied menu, to satisfy different cravings. Pizza is first in their menu, and the best I have tried is Camiguin classic, with generous amount of veggies esp. Camiguin green pepper which is really good. They have poultry, pork, beef, goat, seafoods and veggies in their menu. Plus, they have home-made ice cream and for me mango flavour is the best. Serving is good for 2 or more persons and the price is super affordable. The staff are really nice though waiting time could be improved. Highly recommended.

Amazing food, place and people. Great dining for family and friends 👍. We ordered kaldereta, tinola and pizzas. A must try when you are in Camiguin Island. Fresh ingredients and satisfying. Nestled along the road in Mambajao, Hayahay Cafe may appear unassuming at first glance, but it boasts a cozy Boho-chic interior and is renowned for serving some of the best pancakes on the island. This quaint eatery also caters to vegans with delectable offerings such as Black China, a soy rice bowl with sautéed vegetables.
Cute cafe beside the circumferential road nearly a couple of kilometers away from the White Island area. Superb food and quality, thus the prices but def worthy to try as it is also good for sharing! Very tasty food which will make your trip to Camiguin memorable. We tried their Shakshuka, Chicken Schnitzel starter and Black China and their all yum! Will absolutely visit again and dine here. P.S. You may preorder before heading here if you'd dine as the waiting time is long.

Hayahay is a beautiful cafe situated on the North side of camiguin island. We stopped here twice on our stay in this lovely island. We ordered the shasuka, bikini Kiki smoothie bowl, pancakes and Berry merry smoothie bowl. All were faultless! The cafe itself is idealic with a variety of seating depending on the occasion. We also saw some nomads who use it as their base. It is a bit more expensive than the traditional smaller places however worth the money!

Took us almost an hour waiting for our food orders yet we were pleasantly surprised with how the cooks put their heart on each food serving. The serving size is pretty big and the food is just as big on flavor too! We loved the summer vegetable rolls, Black China, Chica Loco and the Crispy chicken sandwich. Their Vanilla sky coffee and their fruit smoothies were very refreshing and best paired with their French Toast. Would recommend preordering the food about an hour in advance to cut your waiting time. Their Comfort room is very clean, has water and also has free sanitary napkins for those who need them.

2nd time in Camiguin, 2nd time in Hayahay Cafe. The food is just really good. Especially love their Shakshuka, Fresh Spring Rolls and Hayahay Mango Tartare. Everything is just seasoned well and super fresh.

Great place for breakfast and lunch! The place offers a lot of options for vegetarians as well. The Smoothie bowls were amazing. And the atmosphere is chill and fun. WIFI is very good too.

Very cute restaurant with quality food and chill vibes. Had the banana pancake with Nutella extra (real Nutella) and the banana shake was very good. The older waitress could be slightly more welcoming, but well, everyone can have a bad day… 😀
