On September 16, 2023, the food at Ristorante Nangalarruni was exceptional, although the diner wished they had a bigger appetite to enjoy it all. The staff was friendly and spoke fluent English, which is beneficial for tourists. The ambience of the restaurant was spectacular, and the service provided by courteous and helpful staff exceeded expectations. The cuisine lived up to its reputation with amazing flavors and an original menu.
Great Michelin star restaurant, really good food, especially if you like mushrooms. I really liked testing vegetarian menu that you can make vegan.
It was only 35 euros.

Good was extremely good. Order anything with mushrooms. They are master! we tried 5 different dish and they were all simply amazing.

This restaurant was the best restaurant we ate in Sicilia, and we went to a lot of cities. I asked for a great Etna wine, and the boss brought me the perfect wine, for a very good price. I really recommend to go eat in this restaurant. You have a great choice of wines and also of different foods. I took the entrecote and for in Italy, this was a great choice.
Amazing flavors and original menu. Great finding. We had ricotta and vegetables, the cheese table and three main courses based on wild pork. All three tasted differently which shows the amazing curated treatment of the chef. They use local products and have several slow food dishes.
Amazing food! Make sure you choose something with mushrooms. The bread is fantastic, open the bag. This is a great place to visit!!
Amazing mushrooms. Though the first of the 5 ways antipasto is just dressed cold mixed mushrooms and I was horribly disappointed until the next 3 ways (literally amazing) arrived. They need to manage that better, but perhaps because we're not Italian it was not explained. Meat courses ok but not hitting the heights.
Great variety of food and excellent quality.
The staff is very kind and welcomes you with some warm bread and local olive oil while you wait for your main course.
They offer the option of a tasting experience or you can just eat a la carte.
Mushrooms are very popular and they even offer an appetizer with 5 different samples of mushroom based dishes.
But from what I saw, you cannot go wrong with any of their dishes.
Delicious food in a cosy setting with a friendly, family-run atmosphere. Everything we ate was great – mushrooms pop up often on the menu and were all beautifully cooked. Try the antipasti degustation for two: it could have been a full meal in itself!
The restaurant is situated in a small picturesque alley beside from the main road and has a focus on mushrooms (from the Madonnie mountains).
Great atmosphere, good food, quality & local ingredients. One of the best restaurants in town, we hope to visite again.
We had an midday tasting menu on the patio. It was fantastic-lasted 2+ hours, 7 courses. If you like fungi this is the place!

Notably, Palazzaccio has been nominated with Bib Gourmand recognition by Michelin. Visitors have raved about their exceptional dining experiences, praising the thoughtfully selected appetizers and well-spiced pasta and lamb dishes.
When details make the difference. Nice atmosphere, good food, informal but professional service. Great attention to quality of ingredients and to the territory. Passion you can “feel” in the description and “taste” in the dishes. The Bib Gourmand could not be more deserved…maybe something more? Bravi!

Really an exceptional restaurant in this special little town. Staff is welcoming and explains all dishes. Local ingredients and unique menu items. Thier Spaghetti with Calciocavallo has been my favorite pasta dish so far is Italy. Ravioli was great. Chef and owner are welcoming. Will definitely return on our next trip to Sicily.
A friend of mine suggested this place as the best dinner or lunch he’d had in Sicily. I wont go that far but the food was good, the server was nice and gave great wine recommendations. Just the drive from Cefalu to Castelbuono is worth it!
We drove from Cefalù for the dinner here. It was absolutely worth it. Food was amazing, our waiter was very friendly and attentive, we enjoyed the whole experience very much.
Great service, where you are explained about the origin of the food. Everything we tried was delicious, including the wine. We would recommend it to everyone.

We had the by far best experience in whole Sicily at Palazzaccio. We expected the restaurant to be good as it was mentioned in the Michelin guide but still we were blown away. We started with 5 different small appetizers each thoughtfully picked and timed perfectly. I had a well spiced wild pork pasta as a first main course and lamb as a second main course. Both dishes were an astonishing experience in every small detail. The menu was accompanied by a good Sicilian white wine. A local Sicilian dessert ended the perfect dining experience.

Nice and comforting food. We came in low season so many things we ordered ran out, but their replacements were good too. Pasta with mushroom and grilled pork were my favorite. Good value for money.

This was the only restaurant where we didn't leave ourselves enough time to have a customary Sicilian meal, and BOY was that a mistake. Probably the best service we had in Sicily, as the server was extremely knowledgable, passionate, and kind. The bolognese in a white sauce was a revelation, and we had the opportunity to try lots of creative yet approachable dishes. Everything was excellent, and the wine pairings were very good as well.

Tasty food, we were very pleasantly surprised with the mixed starter, it definitely offered an interesting sampling of Madoniti food. The beef with pear mustard and walnuts was delicious and well prepared. It would've been nice if the waiter had told us it would be served with radicchio, then we would have ordered another side dish instead of the grilled radicchio. The tiramisu was fine.
The food was very good, the restaurant has a beautiful view on the mountains and the service is great!

A simple and sober place with a nice terrace. Unforgettable panzerotti with porcini and manna cream. Overall food quality is very good, location is more than ok and the price is on the low end. Definitely suggested.

A Rua Fera is a pizzeria and ristorante situated on Via Roma, near Nangalarruni. Although it may be slightly hard to locate, the establishment offers exceptional food at affordable prices. The pasta dishes are creative and the pizzas are expertly prepared. The restaurant exudes a charming rustic ambiance with its stone walls, arches, wooden beams, and delightful garden for outdoor dining.

Great food, attentive service and delicious artisanal beer. Beer was expensive but considering the taste and quantity, would definitely recommend budgeting for it.
Great food, reasonably priced. Not easy to find, but the food and service are worth backtracking to find the front door. Keep in mind that they only serve pizza for dinner. The rest of the menu (pasta, veal, etc) is for lunchtime. The carpaccio is excellent, and the pasta dishes give large portions. The bread at the table is also excellent.
One of the best restaurants we’ve been to in Castelbuono. Very attentive service, delicious appetizers and probably the best pizza we’ve had in Sicily. Rua Fera was packed with locals who also seem to appreciate the place.
Fantastic food and a nice venue. Dishes are ample and really tasty with a definite taste of the hills. Try the fusilli with pork and mushrooms, it was delicious and must have been cooked for hours.
What a pleasant surprise: ample menu with focus on local produce. We had a late lunch and the impression that it was not the usual tourist hang out. Friendly and attentive staff.

Ristorante Umberto I is a fantastic eatery that offers an impressive selection of dishes. Although pizza is only available for dinner, the main menu has plenty to offer. The mixed salad and grilled lamb were fresh and expertly prepared, while the standout dish was the flavorful Gnocchi with slow cooked pork and pesto sauce. The restaurant also offers a large choice of pizzas which are said to be really tasty. The prices are reasonable and the service is friendly and attentive.
Excellent Lunch- we stopped in for Pizza and were informed that Pizza is only available for dinner. So we decided on the main menu. We had the mixed salad, the Gnocchi with slow cooked pork and pesto sauce, and the grilled lamb. The food was fresh, home made and perfectly prepared. The lamb chops were first cut local lamb.The salad was large, and fresh with local radicchio and tomatoes. The best dish was the Gnocchi it was very very flavourful with a balanced combination of home made pesto, slow cooked pork and parmesan cheese. We had red wine with the meal and an excellent pistachio desert. The prices were very reasonable and the service was friendly and attentive;.
