As my wife is pregnant and only noticed the grassbopper while it was already on her fork, she obviously was not eating any more. Staff tried to charge the meal, but we refused to pay for the dish with extra grasshopper. I think the staff was not very experienced and should have handled the situation differently offering a nice desert or a coffee, and certainly not charging for the meal.

Really good value and excellent service with a smile, I will be back and would have given 5 stars if they had a better arrangement for inconsiderate smokers outside. Every year we book and enjoy a table at Maillol cafe in St Cyprien la plage. Excellent table service and choice of local produced wine to compliment great food from the menu. Looking forward to another evening at Maillol cafe again this holiday........

Lovely situation on the beachfront, but thats where the good news ends. The staff were unfriendly, slow service and the food was distinctly average. After spending upwards of € 50 on a breakfast for myself, my partner and two young kids, they wouldn't let our youngest back in to use the bathroom on the grounds he had beach sand on his feet. They pointed to the toilets at the nearby shower block, which turned out to be locked shut. I signalled over to the waitress that they were closed, expecting her to make an exception and let us in to use the bathroom, what I actually got was a sneer and a theatrical shrug, 'not my problem'. The owner shouted at me when I complained. Snooty, unfriendly, unhelpful. Anyone who has been caught in a situation with a 3 year old needing a poo with nowhere to go can understand the frustration of being faced with such uncaring crappiness.

Always a joy to visit: we simply sit, chat & watch the world drift by. Staff warm, friendly relaxed.
