Such a treat. Visiting La Rochelle, crossing the toll bridge to Île de Ré, and ending up here by chance. We went for the menu, 3 courses. An appetiser, salmon toast, olives, and a sorbet, followed by one tasty dish after another. A great fruits de mer platter, another starter with grilled octopus. Next, we went for the selection of fish for mains; a great choice. For desserts, the dessert of the day (CHOCOLATE!) and the 5 times sorbet. Both magnifique. A nice ambiance, friendly service, good wines. Overall, worth a visit.

Been to this fabulous restaurant 3 times. Great each time. Professional but warm service, very good wine list. Food is delicious, they certainly know how to cook fish. Amazing oysters, turbot, langoustines, monkfish etc, expertly cooked and where applicable delicious perfectly judged sauces. It's not inexpensive, but still I think offers very good quality for the price, and we cannot wait to go back!

After 12 years I went back - I had such good memories then and they delivered again - the classic menu based on local and ultra fresh fish and seafood is absolutely a hammer - better than many stared places I have been - wine list is good but could include a few natural wines

We only had a desert, the flan caramel beurre sale. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! Service was great, very polite and well dressed. The restaurant is well decorated and situated. Recommend taking a terrasse table.

We had already queued. We were told to come back in 20 minutes and they told us there would be a table for us. The only words I said when we returned, was “we made a reservation 20 minutes ago with you colleague”. I was polite. I was sarcastically told “I am happy for you” and to get back to the end of the queue. I wasn’t the person with attitude, it was you!

This La Flotte seaside restaurant has a great location but suffered from poor service and very average food on the evening that we attended. We will not return and cannot recommend. ps location makes it 3 stars. Otherwise it's only 2 stars.

Very rude!!! Told the owner that we had a reservation (which we made in person 20 minutes prior to our arrival). He said “I am happy for you” and told us to get to the back of the queue. Very rude!!!!. (It’s a shame as the man who took our reservation seemed very nice. ) They were very busy because they have a nice view and it is high season,, but obviously feel they can treat any new customer with disrespect. Found a friendly place around the corner.

Worst meal during a 4 week trip around France. Waiter was nice, and told us the issues were with the kitchen, feel bad for him. The Entrecôte steak was a hanger steak. 30-40 mins for starter and same again to main course. Felt being Irish/English speaking may have been part of the reason for poor experience.

Superb three course meal here. Stylish food and waiters. Had the three course 35€ set menu and it was fabulous. Pictured is the delicious scallop risotto.

We go here each visit to Ile de Ré (so at least once a year). Food , service, front of house, and atmosphere are always great. Lovely view of the sea from the tables.

Had a lovely meal. All the food passing our table looked great. We had steak tartar and mussels (when in France). The staff seemed incredibly busy and someone different served our table every time but good service. Quite a queue formed here, if you are a larger group I suggest booking to sit outside or face a wait.

Nice fish restaurant close to the seaside, but definitely not for stars. Food is good, portions are ok, choice is good but service and place is very basic at least. Bottle freshener almost empty, no wine tasting, waiters overwhelmed, uncomfortable tables. Low cost toilets as cherry on the cake. Reviewers giving five stars should treat themselves better.

This place was AMAZING, the food was very delicious, the combination of flavors were something I have never experienced before every mouthful was a delight. The presentation of the food was world class and all the staff were friendly and full of smiles. We will be coming back here for sure the next time we are in the area.

This was our first choice for a restaurant in La Flotte and we were not dissapointed. Very good meal and good wine. The waiters were very friendly and observant -- my espresso was taken back before I said anything because it was not hot. Worth a visit

Found this restaurant via Google maps, reserved a table for 4 people based on the photos of the menu. Arrived 10mins before reservation, ordered drinks, looked at the menu which resembled nothing like the photos i'd seen I.e. grilled fish, entrecote etc. Showed the waitress the photos on Google maps and asked if we could look at this menu,,,,only to be told that the pictures referred to the 'old' owner....wait for it, that changed 2 years ago. Compared to restaurants along the same strip of promenade, la plancha was the emptiest, the others were heaving,,,,,speaks volumes

Lovely restaurant, one of the best in la Flotte. Excellent service, great menu and interesting too, not the usual fare which many of the restaurants serve. Good wine list, again a little off piste. Tables are mostly outside. there is only one tiny loo inside but that doesn't matter as the rest is great! Highly recommend.

We enjoyed a wonderfully convivial evening eating excellent steaks (Rossini-style, with foie gras, truffle, and Madeira). I was particularly thrilled by the Basque-style clams entrée. Warm and genial chef, maître d' and waitress.

We just had a lovely dinner this evening at this wonderful restaurant! Surrounded by seafood for a week and craving something different we enjoyed fillet steaks cooked to perfection and preceded by burrata salad and clams a la greque to die for! Would highly recommend and layla was a very patient waitress - our French needs working on! Hope to revisit!

Great place, lunch taken inside due to uncertain weather, the waitress was very supportive even if we were quite uncertain. Nice decoration inside, the cuisine are open window, like the meal, it is nice, very good and tasty, excellent quality of ingredients and transparent. Found by chance and what a find. So different from the harbour restaurants it sit near. This is really an absolute gem of a place. The burratta as a starter with the cote du bouef shared between us. I mean it was excellent washed down with a lovely provence rose. It's not stupidly expensive for the quality you get. Will add it to the must go to restaurants on Re.

Sea view is very nice. Food was good, nothing extraordinary but price was raisonable. Had tarama has a starter, tagliata of beef and seabass with vegetables and caramel fondant to end. Tagliata of beef was probably the best dish, the balsamic dressing was very good. Seabass was quite simple/olive oil over fish. Caramel fondant was nice but would have hoped for bigger cake.. service was ok, a bit slow and not really attentive regarding water.
