Refugio Frey is a basic guesthouse located in a national park, providing simple dorms and communal areas for guests to use. The site is well-known for its accessibility and stunning views, making it a popular destination for day hikes or overnight stays. The hike itself takes approximately four hours to complete, with visitors passing rocky terrain before reaching the refuge where they can enjoy lunch or stay overnight.
Coming from Villa Catedral it is one of the most amazing hikes that I've done. The refugio itself it's very cozy, sells drinks (recommend the hot chocolate) and from 1pm sells food like pizza. Very unique athmosphere, I recommend to get here early because around the 1pm it started to get more crowdy. Maybe aim to arrive before 1pm just in time to order some hot food. I had a look at the dorm and wouldn't mind spending a night there, must be pretty cool.

Went here with my girlfriend and brought our own tent. Absolute amazing place with crazy beautiful view. The camping is free, which is really awesome and the banos were clean. If you stay with your tent, please give the people who work there a tip so they can carry on the good work and keep it affordable for everyone to enjoy nature!
Eduard Reus — Google review
Lovely spot and great people. Camping is free if you have your own tent. They even rented me a sleeping bag!
Chris W — Google review
Beautiful whether you want to stop by for lunch or stay the night. Very popular for rock climbing. You can bring your own gear or pay to use the facilities, which include bathrooms, a kitchen and meals. Be sure to book a place through their website if you want to stay in the hut or need a place to pitch your tent.
Noam Abadi — Google review
Stunning location, hearty dinners. If you decide to spend a night here, I recommend sleeping outside in a tent. It gets very loud and crowded in the shared dorm, with up to 20 people in one room all placed next to each other, at the very least make sure to bring earplugs.
Igor — Google review
This place is amazing. If you're in Bariloche you can take a taxi or drive to the start. Walk up and back or stay at the refugio, which we did. We had a hard time working out to book, but in the end easy. Go to website for refugio Frey. Check availability, fill in form. We didn't get anything back but just went on faith that it was fine. Turned up with enough cash (they ONLY take cash, no internet reception). Choose how much food, how long you want to stay. It was fantastic. Oh, and there's a second lake you can walk/scramble to. Follow the lake around the right side and go UP... Worth it.
Sarah Carter — Google review
The hike isnt that difficult but so beautiful. I sure enjoyed the hike with its small cascade, the view of the lakes and the rock refugee table for picnic along the way. This hike is popular with the locals which highly respect their environment. The end which is the most beautiful snowy peak mountains, valley behind you and a few lakes in front. You can have a very close encounters with condors if you are a rock climber. Absolutely loved this camping sites and the refugee is small and cosy too but great location
lilian Donoso — Google review
The hike from Cerro Cathedral to Refugio is really nice. However the next part along the mountain ridge is TERRIFYING. If in doubt, please turn around and do not do that part of the hike (between the Refugio and the chairlifts). I am a fit 25 year old and hike a lot but during this hike I was scared for my life. I think it’s very irresponsible they let everyone do this hike. You had to use hands and feet and one wrong step and you’d fall on the pointy rocks or all the way down. Please just turn around at the refugio if you’re not an experienced mountainclimber, and even then please think twice…. :’)
Suzan van Kempen — Google review
The Refugio was located by the lake. We did not stay over night but also the hike up there was not too hard to do a day trip, except you want to do some climbing which would require an overnight. Refugio offers some basic food and full of drinks. Good place for refreshment and shelter yourself from the wind while you up there. Toilets are basic but also clean. Overall I believe it is a place worth visit in Bariloche.

Frey purports to be named after some old Latino geezer called "Emilio Frey". After visiting the location I think it is more likely that the cabin's namesake is the crime of "affray", the offence of group fighting causing public disturbance. The other guests were entirely peaceful. Rather, it was the elements that chose to indulge in violence. For several nights, my tent received a pounding not unlike what the Twin Towers received from those unfortunate aeroplanes. It seemed to me that Al Qaeda had hijacked the weather. But, for each dark night, a new day did dawn. And I climbed the beautiful pillars with friends and swam in the lake. I also protested the Argentinian government by refusing to fill out their national parks Google document. Perhaps Milei will cut that form.
Max Messenger — Google review
Great hike from Cerro Catedral parking lot. The route is easy although requires a final push in the last 2km. That's where it becomes really steep. Until this final push you will be able to enjoy a beautiful forest with beautiful flowers and trees. Be sure to enjoy it.
Flávio Sant'Anna R. — Google review
I came in the autumn and it was really nice. The path was completely covered with snow which made the trip quite challenging but much more fun and advantageous. Be ready for any weather, it looks different once you get higher in altitude. The food provided is ok, nothing special but given the location it absolutely suffices. Hot tea, coffee cakes, wine and beer are possible to purchase.
Dan Pilbauer — Google review
Nice hike to the refugio where you can take a dip in the shallow lake or grab a cold drink. Camping is great with running water and bathrooms.
Sean Mulvey — Google review
This is a beautiful location. Loved spending the day up by the lake. The bedroom is essentially a few big beds so everyone sleeps next to each other. This is fine but don't expect it to be like some of the more modern refuges. The breakfast really let it down, nearly 8,000 for a tiny tiny bowl of cereal and a couple of small pieces of toast. It's 3,000 for an empanada, so the cost of food really does add up here.

The Museo del Chocolate Havanna is a museum dedicated to the history of chocolate, featuring guided tours and exhibits. It also has a gift shop and cafe for visitors. Although some exhibits may not have English translations, the chocolate sculptures are impressive and the history of chocolate is fascinating. The staff are helpful and friendly. Admission fee of 90 pesos per person includes a discount at the gift shop and free hot cocoa samples during the tour.
Very interesting tour in their museum, the cost was 400 pesos for adult. During the tour they explained the chocolate making process as well as their history of the company. You can watch from the windows the layout of the places they make the chocolate, but the tour is not actually in the factory. The guide was very good and knowledgeable. We tasted their hot chocolate which was a nice touch. You can go to their cafeteria area after the tour is ending and you also get discount on items that are not on special offers. Recommended
Shahaf Shaler — Google review
Small but really nice. They'll show you the history of chocolate and even give you complimentary hot cocoa! It was an enjoyable experience overall.
Daniela F Fani — Google review
Could it be better. They introduce very big groups, no room to move around or to watch the exposition. They do not give enough information, there are so many things to explain about chocolate! Short visit expensive price. Not worth it.
Alicia Vega — Google review
The museum is quite small and the tour guide is a bit boring. She showed us a video and also told us whatever was already written with the pictures inside the museum. Anyway, 150 pesos per person for the entrance ticket, and 50% of it can be used at the coffee shop but only with chocolate.
Gloria P — Google review
Visited the Cafeteria but not the museum. Nice place to have coffee and Merienda and buy the famous Havanna chocolates.
Ajay Meda — Google review
Interesting but not worth your time. There is a very small museum about chocolate which you cannot visit alone, you should wait for the guided tour start to enter. You can wait up to half an hour for a short 30 minutes tour about basic chocolate history. At the end there is a typical Havanna store which as any other store sells awesome products!
Juan Diego Sanchez — Google review
Nice chocolate yes. But they don't tell you the tour is completely in Spanish. So if you do not speak Spanish, don't do it. 😉 And they do not warn you the tour has started, so we waited an half hour for nothing. We bought some hot chocolate which we then also got at the tour. Not suitable for small kids.
Nic — Google review
3000 ARS for the tour interesting but only in Spanish you get hot chocolate and you can spend the value of the ticket on chocolate in the kiosk downstairs
Elliott — Google review
I learned so much! The ticket was 2.6k pesos BUT the ticket was also a voucher. So I could use the ticket to buy 2.6k worth of chocolate. So really, the museum was free. It talks about the history of cholcate and how this factory helped kickstart the chocolate industry in bariloche. And the chocolate was SO good Go on a weekday to see people making chocolate in the factory. Also, it is Havana so the chocolate is great
Elizabeth Esque — Google review
An interesting place to visit. Shame there was very little in English as our Spanish is poor. The chocolate sculptures were good. The history of chocolate interesting. Staff were very good. Entrance fee of 90 pesos per person gave you 45 peso per person discount at the shop. Free sample of drinking chocolate on the tour.
Frank Yates — Google review
Very cute little museum with super friendly staff. And the hot chocolate is superb!

Cerro Catedral is a popular recreational mountain in Argentina, known for its sizable winter ski center and summertime trails offering stunning lake views. The area around Refugio Frey has seen significant improvements since 2005, with over 90 routes being re-equipped for safer climbing experiences. As the largest ski center in Argentina and South America, Cerro Catedral boasts 53 tracks catering to skiers, snowboarders, and alpine skiers of all levels.
I hiked and climbed Cerro Catedral in 1987. Epic hike! Stayed at the Refugio up there. Lots of people from all over the world.

Fantastic Ski&Snowboard slopes. So many different routes. If you’re travelling SA make sure to go here to try the slopes. You’ll be blown away by the scenery <3
Kieran Bedford — Google review
If this is the best place you can ski in Latin America then i have bad news for you guys… 1. No snow 2. Tons of people 3. No wind but they closed top routes saying that there is a wind there and it’s not safe (the weather was really peaceful and pleasant… They have like 6-8 snow machines but they don’t put it in places where there’s no snow 4. The price is higher than in Armenia and in Russia but the slopes are worse Just for your information. The snow level as it is shown on photos is just unacceptable for any ski resort So if you are looking for place where you want to learn how to ski or improve your skills or just to enjoy skiing - I don’t think this is an option

Great ski resort with many different options for any kind of skiers. Great runs, fantastic landscapes. Ok, 5 stars are generous compared with the best ski resorts of the Rockies or of the Alps, but Cerro Catedral, despite smaller, has a lot of what you can find in a ski resort. And it is lovely. Easy road to get here: about 5 miles of wide, almost flat asphalted road with no particular risks (it is not a mountain twisty road). Wide parking lots, one free and one (closer) with a toll (less than 10 USD the entire day). In general, good modern lifts, some of them really new and fast, comfortable and with safety bar, footrest, and kid safety support between legs. Runs for everybody: magic carpets for beginners, many great blu/red slopes with up to 3000ft vertical drop, a few black runs (anyway nice). A nice village near the chairlifts starts, with many shops, restaurants, bars, for a fast lunch or for a great apres-ski. Many ski rentals and ski schools, also with an organization that helps (and teaches skiing) people with special needs. Ticketing system also online, with the possibility to pay from home with no lines and get your ticket at the airport (when you arrive) or at the ticket-office. Sometimes (on Sundays) is crowded (like many other places in the Alps or in the Rockies). About 10 miles from here, the downtown of Bariloche, with top restaurants, a lot of hotels of any kind, and an international airport ... If you want to ski la Nieve del Sur (the Snow in the South Emisphere), that's a great place.
Roberto Asquini — Google review
Honestly, it's overrated! Overcrowded, dirty, and no snow. Also the cable cars for tourists can be closed anytime without prior notice, even if the weather condition is ok. Most of the positive reviews here came from locals or Spanish speakers who might have just seen snow for the first time. But if you've been to the US, Japan, and Europe, you will be underwhelmed and disappointed.
RC Reyes — Google review
Place is great. But not tourist friendly. 430 pesos per dollar when the blue rate is 560, and the lady at the counter would not take back my lift ticket plastic card ($4usd return value) because it was a bit bent.

Bariloche is nestled against the slopes of Cerro Otto, with the majestic peaks of the Cerro Catedral massif behind it. The town overlooks the beautiful Lago Nahuel Huapi, one of many lakes in the area that lend their name to this region. However, a significant urban planning mistake occurred when the main road was built along the shoreline, dividing the town from its most attractive feature.
I was surprised that bus Terminal and train station can look so nice.

Small, dirty, full of people. Don’t stay here after dark. The fact that you can’t load up your SUBE card here is simply baffling. The device costs a couple of bucks at most and you’re telling me the municipality is willing to lose tourists over that?
Dmitri Iartsev — Google review
La Terminal necesitaría una reforma, quedó vieja. Los baños estaban limpios, hay cafetería y Kiosko adentro. Se puede llegar con transporte público desde el aeropuerto, pagando con Sube. Works decently but you have to walk 4 blocks and a half to charge a bus card "sube" which you need for a local bus ride. There is a shop inside the terminal but never worked while I was there. So if you already have a card, make sure your card has at least -25 so you can get to the center smoothly.

It's cool inside, good for waiting in the summer, but there's only one or two outlets working so it's unlikely that you can charge your phone. Also food is quite expensive.
Valentine Luy — Google review
The bus terminal is fine but there are no proper coffee outlets or food places offering a good selection. Early morning buses mean practically nothing is open.
Kevin McMahon — Google review
Pretty dirty place. Just a bar with a few items to chooose from. Buses in winter rarely are on schedule. Very expensive to get there or from there via a cab. Make sure to have your SUBE card to use buses... they dont sell it therr.
Andrew McClymont — Google review
Friendly lady at the counter, she didn't spoke any english but we could communicate by hands and google translater. I made a mistake and booked the bus the wrong way from Villa la Angostura to Bariloche but I actually wanted to go the other way. When I found out the next day, she was so friendly to change it into the route I wanted.
Johannes — Google review
Quite far away from centre of town. Lots of public buses go there but you need a SUBE card. Which is fine unless you don't have credit on the card. We could not find anywhere in the station that would top up the card (even after asking at the tourist counter etc). No wifi which was annoying when looking to buy bus tickets - as the counters try sell tourists the more expensive fares than what is available online. Our Andesmar fare to Mendoza was nearly $500 ARS per person cheaper when we bought it online.
simon duncan — Google review
This is what you can expect from a bus terminal of a small city, many stores to sell you tickets ( I went to Villa la Angostura), a gift shop and a cafe that are expensive. It could be better. The only way to pay buses inside Barilcohe is using an electronic card named "sube" and it's recharging system or Tha machine that does it was out of service when I was there.

Trout Bariloche offers personalized fishing experiences, from one-day trips to extended camping and float excursions along the Rio Manso or Rio Limay. Customers have praised their knowledgeable guides, such as Juanito and Dante, who provided valuable tips and catered to varying levels of experience. The stunning natural scenery and abundant fish make for an unforgettable adventure. Guests also appreciated the delicious meals provided during the trips, with special attention given to dietary restrictions.
We had an amazing time fishing with troutbariloche. Communication before the trip was easy and prompt. The directions to meet up were simple to understand. Once we started our day Juan was quick to sum up where we were in our fly fishing skills and was such a great teacher for me and coach tweaking my husband’s rusty skills. Lunch was fantastic, it doesn’t get any better than fresh grilled steaks and a bottle of wine while sitting in beautiful Patagonia! We laughed, we learned, and we caught fish!

We had an incredible full day on Manso river with Juanito & Tommy. Beautiful scenery, very patient teaching us, delicious lunch & wine. Great being able to go on the rib in the morning and then wade in the afternoon. Couldn’t recommend more highly!
Katherine Fraser — Google review
We did a full day trip on the Manzo river. Absolutely fantastic. Probably the best river we have ever fished. Never saw another person, pristine national park, wonderful fishing. Our guide, Dante was superb, in total control of the raft through the rapids, a great guide, a great person and the cherry on top, he cooked us a superb lunch on the river.
Anne Czerner — Google review
I absolutely loved the trip. I thought that Juanito was knowledgeable, patient, hard-working, and kind. He’s also a good cook! I had never taken a float fly fishing trip before. I had also never fished with sinking line or streamers. So I got to learn something new and Juanito kept teaching me along the way. Overall, I loved it. I want to bring my wife back one of these days to do the fishing and camping trip on the Mansa. If we do, we’ll be sure to request Juanito as our guide. Thank you again for a great trip!
Clay Lezon — Google review
It was fantastic! Tommy and Juanito were incredibly kind, helpful, patient, and solicitous. The food and accommodation were excellent. I was treated like royalty (which I'm not accustomed to, so I was occasionally embarrassed haha). I learned the basics of fly-fishing and caught six fish over the course of these two days. My first fishing experience was a complete success—many thanks!
Jean Mennesson — Google review
Had a great time fishing the Manso with Juanito! He was able to provide great feedback and techniques to both my wife and I who have differing levels of experience. Beautiful views the entire way and lots of fish caught. The lunch was delicious and the guide made sure to pack foods for my wife who has an allergy. Overall, fantastic experience and would highly recommend Trout Bariloche to anyone visiting the area.
Bruce Ensley Jr. — Google review
I had an amazing day with guide Juanito on the Manso River. We used a combination of streamers and dry terrestrial patterns and caught 3 brown trout and 8 rainbow trout. Juanito was very skilled with the boat and taught me new techniques as well as providing great advice on where to cast. My wife was able to go riding in the morning and join me for a steak and wine lunch prepared by Juanito, and then she was on the boat with us for the afternoon. It was an amazing day and I highly recommend Trout Bariloche.

This Argentinian steakhouse is always full of hungry diners, thanks to its huge steaks that are sure to satisfy any appetite. The restaurant also offers excellent quality and prices for its food, making it a great choice for anyone visiting the area. It also has a wide range of menu items, including barbecue options, so there's something for everyone.
Probably the best restaurant I've been in Bariloche, steaks comes exactly as you ask them to make it. The portions are really big and in a fair price. Make sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before they open so you won't have to wait much.
Daniel Levy — Google review
First of all, you have to form in line for 40 60 minutes prior to entering. If you missed your spot inside, they gave you a number so you can come back in a couple of hours. The food is AMAZING. Proper Argentinean meat on the grill, exquisite wines and the service...exceptional. Worth every minute waiting outside.
Daniel Mor?n — Google review
One of the best meat I’ve ever eaten in my life! The side dishes are amazing as well, specially the Provolone. Highly recommend while visiting Bariloche. Theres a lot of line though so I recommend arriving early.
Gabriela Oh — Google review
Waited in line 15 min before they opened and then they open the doors and everyone just finds a table and waiters start taking orders in no apparent order. Recommended wine was not good, steaks were both cooked to medium or medium well when we ordered medium rare. Ribeye was still pretty good but overcooked. chorizo beef was super tough and barely ate a few bites before we gave up. Flan was very eggy. House salad which was huge was the best part. If you’re going to go I recommend just splitting the full portion of ribeye which is plenty for two people. $80 for two half steaks, a house salad, bottle of the cheap wine, and flan.
Janet — Google review
God bless Don Alberto. Seriously, we are used to eating high quality meat all over the world (Japan, South-Africa, Ireland, etc.) as well as in Argentina - nothing is as good as this place. Mashed potatoes were so-so but everything else was perfect. We ended up visiting them for 3 days in a row. Do not miss in case you are around Bariloche!
Guy Zamir — Google review
The best meat I had in Argentina for sure! The prices are really really fair for what you get. The atmosphere is amazing because you have a view on the chef that makes the steaks 🥩 and it is impressive to watch. The waitresses are good as well There are no reservations ahead of time so the recommendation is to arrive 20-30 minutes before opening hour to wait in line and enter quickly at 20:00
Itamar Naim — Google review
Probably one of the best steaks I have ever had. We got the grande chorizo and rib eye. Each came out to be about $30 usd and the had lots of cheap wines $8-10 usd. We ended up going her two nights in a row because of how good it was.

Great food and service with a good price! They cannot reserve a table, they suggest to arrive 30 minutes before the opening. We've arrived on the first night by 19:30 and we were first couple, after 10 minutes the restaurant was full occupied! The other night we were arriving by 20:15 and we entered to our table by 21:30
Eliran Cohen — Google review
Very good and satisfying. Go early. Stand in line at least 15-30min BEFORE doors open. The grill masters scour the room taking food orders and wait staff will take your drink order. Delicious minced beef empanadas, crazy good 'grilled' aged provolone, very generous side dishes.Perfectly grilled and seasoned good Ojo de bife. Attentive and friendly service although the place gets packed immediately. They all work with grace under pressure. If you miss the first seating at 8pm then the next seating will likely be 9:30pm earliest. It isn't an exceptional parrilla but it's tasty and gotta admit it was 'that good' especially for very popular touristy Bariloche. So happy to discover this location. They have THREE! Muchas gracias!

The best bife de chorizo we had in Argentina! Their steaks are just amazing and very well made.
Guy Zylberberg — Google review
The best ribeye we ever had. You need to show up 8pm sharp, otherwise you need to wait. As soon as they opened, the restaurant was filled in 5 min. The only thing bad was we ordered a cheese onion empanada and it was still frozen in the middle, we returned and they cooked it properly. Also we ordered the meat medium well and it was raw, so they had to put it back on the grill, but the flavor was amazing .
claudia espinoza — Google review
The best steakhouse in Bariloche. I ordered a blood sausage, provoleta and rib eye. Every dish was super good. A little more expensive then other steakhouses, super recommended though👍
개정은 — Google review
The meat is really tasty! We went there 2 times during our stay in Bariloche and tried a few cuts (bife de chorizo e lomo, ojo de bjfe e entraña). Entraña was my favorite one! The side dishes portions are really big, specially the ‘papas fritas’; and the chimichurri sauce is amazing! I would recommend to arrive 15min before the restaurant opens or around 9.30pm to avoid waiting too long for a table.
Luísa V — Google review
Soft and juicy Argentine steak, pork, opening at 20 o'clock, it was worth waiting in line in advance. 17000 pesos for steak. 2 bottles of wine are also good for the price. 3& plenty for 5 people. 110,000 pesos, Top separately.
김기준 — Google review
We absolutely loved the taste, ordered chorizo de bife and rib eye both were so good. Portion of fries and mashed potato is big so you can definitely share. We went around 7:40 and it was line up. it opens at 8 pm and we could get in first round. They get the order from all tables and make all orders ready. Service could be better. Price is higher than what we had in calafate and side dishes variety is less like salads but taste of steak is one of the best I had.
Zahra Baghestani — Google review
Best steak in Bariloche. Been here for 5 days and this is the best. Chips portion is huge so you might want to share. We went for one full portion of fillet steak for my husband and a half for me…I ended up having to help him out. Highly recommend.
Kate Watabiki — Google review
OK experience, poor price/quality ratio. Wouldn't come back nor recommend Pros: - good wine price - great mashed potatoes Cons - 60mil pesos for a two person meal with a bottle of wine (rutini). Similar price to Carnero or Alto el Fuego which provide a higher quality meat and overall experience. - one hour wait - meat (bife de chorizo) was over-cooked and a bit hard and dry - wine-opening was 15,000 pesos, same as their expensive wine bottles (didn't make sense.) - loud, noisy, white lights.

This place is probably the most famous and highly recommended restaurant in Bariloche. Definitely recommend but it gets busy. They opened a second location around the corner. We lined up 20 minutes before they opened and was able to get seated for lunch. The grilled meats are amazing everything is delicious. I wish I had room for dessert. Better to go with more people so you can try more food. Staff is great. Very friendly and helpful.

We have returned to this place several times because the meat was super tasty, the service was fast and pleasant, sometimes there is a long waiting time so I recommend to come near the opening or the closing hours, than it’s not that crowded. Also their dessert is perfect. Don’t miss it out!

Grill
Argentinian restaurant
Altitude Grill is a popular steakhouse in Bariloche with a great atmosphere and delicious food. It has large portions, making it perfect for sharing, and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is always busy in the evenings, so reservations are recommended. There is free Wi-Fi available, as well as table service.
Fantastic meal, one of the best I've had in Argentina. Food was delicious, service was great, space was awesome. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting bariloche.

Quality meats. Serve the meat to the right cooking level. (+) Good puree. (+) A very simple salad with a few ingredients, coarsely chopped. (-) The termiso dessert was not tasty at all. (-) Serve the butcher’s steak in a strange way. (-) It is required to book a place in advance, there is a very limited number of available places.

The food was fantastic but the serving staff deserve high praise. Even though they were extremely busy, everyone was friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in, while we waited for our table, and during our meal. They recommended great wine, patiently answered our questions about the menu, and most spoke at least a little English (and were unpretentious about having to use it) which was very helpful since only one in our group was fluent in Spanish. We ordered the bife de chorizo, Denver steak, salads, grilled vegetables, and fries. The steaks were the best we've had in Argentina. That's saying a lot. Everything was cooked just right. The flavor, texture, and temperature were perfect. Excellent place.

We ordered asado, churizo beef and salad. You can ask for half a portion which is great cuz the meals are huge. The steak was delicious, salad wasn’t great. The staff were really nice and quick, but the place itself was small and kind of squishy. Bathroom was also not great. Overall though steak was the reason we came and it was delicious !

Excellent!! There will usually be people waiting by the time it opens at 7:30pm, but even the wait in their wine cellar was nice, they have a great wine selection and wifi. The staff is really nice and helpful with recommendations. I went with what I heard was the best: the braided steak it was delicious plus the skirt steak was also really nice it was recommended to us if you don’t like fat in your meat. The half size steaks, potato (fries/chips), and veggies were all to split between 2 people and was more than enough. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality and quantity.

Wow! Amazing prices and the meat was also amazing with perfect cooking size. Everything was tasty and the service was also great. Would definitely recommend to go there.

Loved the meat, it was moist, tender and the service was flawless. I would recommend. The side dishes are big, so be aware of it. I think only the vegetables can serve two people just fine.

Great meat lovers place to eat. Seriously, good steaks and a wine list to supplement your choices. For quality, the price was more than reasonable. Shame its so far from London.

The meat was great, I want to recommend the mixed vegetables. Although it's a side dish it was simply amazing. Everything was made with lots of care and the service was excellent.

I was so ejxcited to try this place a month ago, but wasn't able to due to time restraints while heading south to Ushuaia, but made it a priority for my one night here tonight on my way back up to Santiago. I went with a medium-rare ribeye, and my wife had medium tenderloin. We shared some proveleta as an appetizer and cooked veggies and fries on the side. Our waiter was very attentive, and everything was cooked perfectly except my ribeye. Although VERY BIG, it was cooked medium well, which isn't the end of the world since it was still moist, but not perfect like I was hoping after reading so many reviews. The server offered to re-cook it, but I am not one to send food back, I just wanted to let them know so that they can be better for other customers. Overall, a great restaurant and experience, I just wish my steak was cooked as I ordered it... also, the proveleta is the best I've had in 10+ steakhouses traveling through Chile / Argentina the past 2.5 months! I would still recommend this place and would definitely go back some day.

This is an amazing place to have meet. I usually take photos of the food but I forgot to make one when they brought the steak. Rib eye steak was delicious, tender and just right. No sauces needed even! Chorizo and French fries were delicious too.

The best food I’ve ever had in Argentina. We didn’t have to wait that long for a table, the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and the food spoke for itself. The salad had a great variety of veggies, the fries were nice and fresh and the meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Not to forget the amazing chimichurri sauce!!! I will 10/10 recommend this place to anyone staying in Bariloche.

Really great restaurant with phenomenal food! The waiters were extremely kind and helpful with recommendations. The flat iron and asado vegetables were very good!

We ordered Beef de chorizo for 22k medium but received a medium-well… sadly the meat was dry. As we complained 2 different waiters tried to convince us that the meat was pink (IT WASN’T!!!).
Omer Binshtock — Google review
Great restaurant! The food was great, the steaks were on point, the fries were amazing, and the service was really kind and friendly. Highly recommended! If you come in lunch time it’s a bit less packed and you can get in without waiting sometimes. A little tip - the price of the meat includes 2 steaks! So don’t get surprised like us if you order 2 steaks and then get 4😂

Dry meet Bad service As you can see in the attached photo, the steak was medium well even though we requested medium and they did not agree to change it

Great meat eatery. They definitively know how to cook meat!! We enjoyed a good bottle of Malbec with delicious meat cuts and grilled vegetables. The service was lovely too. Value for money is good! Strongly recommended

This is the second time I eat at this restaurant, and it was as delicious as the first time! I love this place! The meat was so good, tender, excellent taste. I would make a detour to go to this restaurant again. The grilled veggies were delicious and so fresh!

Restaurant
Almazén de Sabores is a cozy establishment located near the owners' residence, offering the most satisfying gastronomic experience discovered during a ten-day stay in Argentina. With affordable prices for US visitors taking advantage of the strong dollar exchange rate, this hidden gem provides an appetizer sampler featuring five delectable items that are beautifully presented. Their stuffed chicken and lamb kabob dishes were particularly outstanding, complemented by delightful whole-wheat bread.
Possibly the best restaurant around Bariloche! Food, service and atmosphere simply impeccable. This is a do not miss

We loved this place. It was really hard to fine a good restaurant in Bariloche Centro, so we were glad to find this. It is located in a residencial area, and the restaurant is served by its owner Lucila. We did A La Carta menu, and everything was amazing. Great portions and flavors. They also have a good selection of wines to your disposal. Highly recommended.

Small venue, next to the house belonging to the couple who run it. The best meal we've found so far (in 10 days) in Argentina. Relatively inexpensive if you're from the USA and benefiting from the strong dollar exchange rate. We tried the appetizer sampler for two, with five different items, all delicious. The stuffed chicken and the lamb kabob were great, nicely presented. Good whole-wheat bread. The chocolate and lemon deserts were also excellent. We're likely to return soon.

Wonder small restaurant about 30min outside of Bariloche. Family run and using interesting ingredients, each dish was really great. We received a fantastic wine recommendation and took a second bottle to go. They accept credit cards and let you tip on the card.

Best meal of my trip to Bariloche. Very understated, charming, and kind host. Run by a husband and wife in resto attached to their house. Incredible tasting menu with solid Pinot Noir for about US$30. Varied courses, even made rabbit taste incredible. The only drawback is it’s not close to town of Bariloche or the mountain or the lake...but the experience is worth the drive. Very responsive to email and helpful with local recommendations.

Familia Weiss is a restaurant in San Carlos de Bariloche, situated on the waterfront of Nahuel Huapi Lake. The menu features Argentinian and Central European favorites, such as steak fondue, goulash and German-style potatoes. The place is known for its excellent drinks and delicious food.
Good variety of dishes. Cordero and Ciervo are good choices if you want to try something different from other food you can find in Argentina. Not sure about the exact style of beer but it does remind me of German beer styles. If you prefer, they have lots of different wines to choose from.
Search Rodriguez — Google review
Really interesting restaurant. It was like Argentinean-Hungarian. And maybe German too. I ordered the hunters Lamb (Cordero a la Calzadora) a typical plate in Argentina. It came with some noodles covered in a cream sauce and several pieces of lamb meat on the bone. The plate was covered in sauce but it was delicious. I also orders a glass of red wine. They only sell bottles and 1 type of red and white. The brand was San Juan and it was a tempranillo wine. It was motly light, but still had some heavy body to it that made it a but more than a casual sipping wine. It took my attention every sip ,but was good - on the dryer side as well. The best best part of the place for sure was the service and the ambiance. My server was perfe t and professional and not too pushy but attentive when needed. Also the place is dimly lit, but not so dark that you can't see the menu. There is a sort of tree house feel to it and it's warm, an escape from the cold of the outside. ***end novel*** Def stop by here for food if in town.

They were good to get us in before the end of the lunch service, but the food was decidedly average. For what we ate it was overpriced. If you’re happy to overpay for average food then go here.

So this is a place you come to for traditional Argentine cuisine. You'll find smoked fish, trout, vencen and traditional deserts. However, if you are particular about service, this is not the place to go. Lots of fish options as well as meat, but the service is not strong. 1= good 5= awful Noise: 2 Parking: 5 Food quality: 4 Timing: 2 Cost: 3
George Zamora — Google review
It’s a Bariloche classic this family owned restaurant that also sells some regional items like smoked meats and products. The restaurant gets very busy on the season so be sure to get ready for a lengthy wait to get it. The queue outside is not that well organized and once you manage to get in… you probable will need to wait until your actual table is ready. Food is ok, nothing fancy but featuring quite a good selection of local dishes. Service gets messy (again, in the high season that’s expected) and servers gets overwhelmed (understaffed) so… be patient. Portion size could be better, but overall is a good restaurant to dine in.

Service good. Had the grilled trout, venison, cheese, apple & raspberry salad, and huge chocolate ice cream mixed w whip cream almonds, other nuts etc. Excellent. Good views. Ambience good.

We ordered Sorrentinos Verdura with Bella Italia sauce for starters. It was my favorite. Then we got goulash and trucha fish with speatzle. They were delicious as well. For desserts, we oredered apple strudel with ice cream. Strudel wasn't that much of my taste but it went well with ice cream. The overall service was fast and professional.

Wonderful place. I like the atmosphere and the style is similar to what you can find in Austria. We have their platta - a board of different fish/meats and cheese. It was good even though I would have like that there had been more difference in the cheece. The meat was excellent.

Very good service. Food was tasty but compared to what you pay and receive in other places in the city, the portions were relatively small so it's expensive.

If you're looking for an intimate restaurant with delicious Argentinian food, La Salamandra Pulperia is a great choice. The small place can easily be filled up, so it's best to make reservations. You'll find a short menu that focuses on dishes made with fresh ingredients. Whether you're gluten free or not, the restaurant has options for you. Prices start at HK$47 per person and go up depending on what you order.
A little on the expensive side but so worth it! We have been coming here since 2013! The ojo de bife comes with a beautiful salad, their chimi is amazing! The empanadas are to die for, but a warning - they are very juicy! The new salad with the scallops is amazing, the flavors are beautiful. I finally tried the salmon and was pleasantly surprised - the skin is very crispy and the mashed potatoes are like silk! Will order again soon for sure!

Step into a cosy and warm environment, from the moment you are welcomed by the couple running this place. We spent a perfect dinner in this heartful atmosphere, mainly attended by locals. The "Pan y Hongos" (garlic mushroom toast) was a delight. The meat was excellent too, we tried both the Ojo de Bife and the Entraña. The Ojo was a tad more tender. A place to recommend without hesitation. ¡Muchas gracias por este momento simpático!

Best steak, my partner and I have eaten. Followed by amazing empanadas, great wine, beautiful salad and scallops accompaniment. Food is big and hearty. It’s fresh, clean and not more fried-unloved stuff, it’s beautifully done and completed to a excellent quality. You need to book well in advance.

One of those places where you want to leave a positive review because it was excellent, but on the other hand you don't want to review it because you don't want everyone going and spoiling it. The food was excellent from start to finish and the staff were friendly and helpful. A good mix of tourists and regulars (who were greeted like long lost friends).

Top notch World Cuisine. My favorite Restaurant in Argentina! Reserve and go! Cozy and small place run by a couple who live what they do...and yiu can taste it in their food. You worn be dissapointed, I promise!

When we arrived we were kindly received at the door. The background music, mostly Argentinian folklore, was pleasing and we could talk over it without rising our voices. The place is cozy and ambiented with vintage objects from Argentina. The food was excellent. The plates are well sized and with good quality ingredients. The "pan con hongos salteados" (bread with sauteed mushrooms) is fantastic! I suggest making reservations in advance, as it may be difficult to get a table otherwise.

My son and I shared a steak, house wine and 2 appetizers for $64 US dollars. The steak came with a salad on a wooden cutting board, great presentations. The steak also was boneless very tender trimmed and cooked perfectly. After spending time eating steaks in the best restaurants in Buenos Aires and Mendoza we felt la Salamandra Pulperia’s steak was the best taste and tenderness of our 3 weeks in Argentina. It also was cheaper.
