Puerto Natales is a port city on the Señoret Channel in Chile’s southern Patagonia. It’s the gateway to Torres del Paine National Park to the northwest, and the port for boats touring the Patagonian fjords. The Municipal Historical Museum in the city center exhibits artifacts from the region’s indigenous population. To the north is the vast Mylodon Cave, once inhabited by prehistoric, slothlike mylodons.

The Municipal Historical Museum in Puerto Natales offers a captivating journey into the cultural and historical tapestry of Patagonia. With five rooms showcasing preserved artifacts from the Kaweskar and Tehuelche tribes, as well as photographs documenting the area's colonization, visitors can delve into the region's rich past. The bilingual displays provide insight into the early native settlers and later colonialists, shedding light on both indigenous tribal life and the expansion of Puerto Natales.

A professional display with very interesting information and displays about the history and early native settlers in the region. Information in this first section is bilingual in Spanish and English. The later rooms are about the colonialists who settled in the southern region. The displays show the life, farming and sadly, the inhuman treatment and extermination of the indigenous tribes. The hour visit was well worth the time and the CPS2000 entry for a foreigner (CPS1000 for nationals)

This museum gives you a great history of the Patagonian area and the indigenous tribes that have lived here. Definitely worth a visit and most things have good English subtitles.
It is a small museum, but emphazises the geological, tribal and social enviroment on the region of puerto Natales.
There are 2 sections:
1) dedicated to the indigenous tribes and social life
2) dedicated to the expasion of the region from puerto Natales on terms of social and economy, the First imigrants, etc.
It is really valuable to keep the memory from the First citizens of this área over chilean Patagônia.

Lovely little museum which tells about the indigenous history and persecution by the colonist. Touching history. Only 1000pesos to enter and makes a great way to spend some time in this sleepy town.
On google it said the museum will close at 1 pm and reopen at 2.30 but it was closed when we reached there at 12 pm. No reason mentioned. Could not know why was this closed.
Worth a visit at just 2k pesos for entry. Lots of information on the indigenous people and how the town was founded.

Santolla offers excellent seafood dishes that are particularly popular with tourists in Puerto Natales. The restaurant is brightly-lit and nicely decorated, and the service is warm and welcoming. Specialties include king crab, which can be ordered either as a main course or as part of a multi-course dinner. All of the food on the menu is delicious and worth trying.
What they do with King Crab is really something you have to experience to believe. The crab cake specifically is top tier. Santallo is easily the best dining experience I had in Puerto Natales and uses sustainably caught ingredients (at least with the King Crab). It’s a must visit if you’re in the area as a celebration after a trek or as a last gourmet meal before it begins. Thank you Santolla for such a wonderful meal!

I would highly recommend this restaurant for a delicious seafood meal! There are many options but all of them were very good. I had the seafood pasta and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were very attentive too.
TIP: Go early for dinner. By 6:30, the place was packed and they had to turn some guests away/had them wait.
Decided to try the restaurant cos the good reviews and more importantly wanted to try the king crab! Unfortunately we couldn’t order the whole crab cos it’s not in season so we settled for crab tapas and some other dishes. The restaurant did not disappoint and we thoroughly enjoyed the dishes and the Spumante was really really good as well! There was a short wait when we arrived and were waiting in the adjacent hotel but in no time we were seated and happily eating dinner.
Very interesting restaurant, with a cozy atmosphere and a fire in the cold days. Very good red wines too. Food is done with very interesting ideas.
Lots of seafood choices at this places. Restaurant owners are very welcoming, and they spoke English (big bonus for me who doesn’t speak Spanish at all). I will recommend their king crab related dishes. Zucchini cream soup also is really good. Their dishes all tasted a bit salty to me. But overall all I gave them 4 stars
This place is amazing! Such a cool setup and design with the shipping containers. Very warm, cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Our server was very helpful and attentive. Most importantly, the food was ridiculous. We had the scallops three ways, king crab legs, and the kind crab "cake." Everything had so much flavor and was prepared so well. We really wanted dessert but were too full so we just might have to go back.

The pisco sour was not like any I have had. It was okay and strong.
Really tasty but quite expensive for the area, like nearly US prices. Scallops three ways were good but not mind blowing, king crab cake was delicious but disappointingly tiny for the price, tortilla was great and cheap/filling thankfully because otherwise we’d have been leaving hungry after dropping enough money to buy twice as much food everywhere else in town.
We had a terrific meal here. Cozy environment, fresh ingredients and well prepared food, friendly and attentive service. The king crab legs in a spicy butter and guanaco loin were highlights of the meal and some of the best food we had on our entire trip.

Got the tapas sizes of the king crab cake which was not quite a cake, the scallops gratin which was not as good as the last and the seaweed Ceviche. All okay but expensive for the portions. For a main we shared a crab legs in the white butter sauce which was fantastic but super exy, 40k for the serve. The tortilla was the stand out dish , cheap and freaking delicious.
The best restaurant in Puerto Natales. From the funky interior and exterior of shipping containers, to the decadent dishes and desserts, this was one of the best dining experiences in Chile. Check out their Insta for latest menu additions. The restaurant is continuously included in Lonely Planet books for its exquisite fare - an absolute must visit!
The place is small but cozy. Food is good especially for seafood lovers. Service is also good.
Great location, but has a very small capacity. Seats filled out as soon as they open during dinner time in December. The king crabs are fresh, however, the dipping sauce came 15 minutes after the dish is served, so we had finished 2 legs already, entirely bland. Anyways, the dipping sauce is not the fanciest (only mayo and liquid butter); selling it at this price, it really could be more creative. Other than that, the seafood stew is presented nicely in a small pot and is palatable .

The Cafe Kaiken is a chilean restaurant that serves up some delicious food and drinks. It has a bar area with seating, as well as a grill where you can enjoy some BBQ. They also have a full bar, so you can order whatever drink you want! The atmosphere is casual and relaxing, perfect for winding down after a long day.
We had a great meal. My son had tuna and I had salmon. Both were very good and the chef came out and talked with us about his creations.

Cozy restaurant in the neighborhoods of Puerto Natales. We were welcomed with freshly baked warm bread. We tried their vegetarian options: greek salad and ravioli and topped up with some fresh lemonade. Must visit if you’re craving some delicious pastas!

I have been living in Puerto Natales the last 3 years, and Cafe Kaiken is one of my absolute favourite restaurants. The food is consistently amazing and my favourites are the spinach pansotti and tomato ravioli. My husband loves the plateada (slow cooked beef shoulder with home made fettucini or gnocchi).
Service is great and attentive and the prices are very reasonable for the area with good serving sizes.
And I definitely recommend you try the desserts 🤗
excellent service and atmosphere! the restaurant feels very welcoming and homey. they gave us fresh baked rolls with herb butter that were warm and steaming when we opened them and the salmon ravioli was amazing. staff was very nice and welcoming.
Amazing meal. Probably the best salmon I’ve ever had in my life, no joke. The lamb ravioli and ceviche were also great, but overshadowed by how great that salmon was. I wish it wasn’t my last day in town that I ate here because I’d go back the next day.
My friends and I had an incredible and memorable meal here at Cafe Kaiken last night! We especially loved the fresh pasta and ceviche. Staff was attentive and friendly. We hope we can go back while we’re in town!
This place was by far the best restaurant and best food in all of Chile. We went there three times. The bread was exceptional. The service was great. The ceviche, salmon, and was incredible. Very flavorful. Ask for mercan if like spicy. Only took pictures of the dessert, which was so good we ordered a second. Lamb ravioli was a little heavy but the rest of the menu is to die for.
The atmosphere was amazing with jazz playing in the background. The owner was also so sweet and helpful. He made sure everything was great and was so helpful. I got the grilled salmon & it was delicious! Definitely stop by and get a bite to eat if you are on your way to Torres del Paine!
One of the best places I have ever been to! The pasta is amazing, service is impeccable and it’s rare to find a place that makes you feel at home, let alone in a small town in Patagonia. I tried ceviche, shrimp risotto and dessert brownie/icecream. Everything was well prepared and tasted amazing! A great way to have a delicious meal after finishing the W trek. I couldn’t recommend this place more. You won’t be disappointed and please tip the servers extra! They deserve it
Our favorite restaurant in all of Patagonia! Cannot speak more highly of this cute little spot. We ordered the salmon, lamb ravioli, and spinach pesto ravioli. The handmade pasta is something I will always remember. The service was incredible as well! Best spot in Puerto Natales to end our W Trek. It’s a must-go!!

There are some great shops and restaurants around as well as a well-maintained church, making it an ideal place to spend some time. The secret little cafe is also a nice touch, reminding visitors of the fun side of life in Puerto Natales.

Don't order platos, order a sandwich instead. These are giant. Hot. With a lot of meat, or whatever you order, and fresh vegetables. In essence, it's a dish, just between two slices of bread.
Be aware that it is not a regular hotel. You won't get a room by just pulling over and asking for it. I think they rent out the whole thing for events only. We were offered a place to pitch a tent, though.
Small but it has it all... like every little town, the plaza moves the city.

Casino de Puerto Natales is a popular venue in the town, offering live music and various gaming options. However, some patrons have noted that the slot machines are outdated and withdrawing credits can be tedious due to manual ticket dispensation. That being said, the casino provides a good atmosphere for spending time with friends or enjoying a meal at its adjoining restaurant, Ventura. The food and drinks here are praised by many customers, particularly the Calafate Sour cocktail and ceviche starter.
Ventura restaurant was great, very nice place to have lunch. We have a couple of drinks with a ceviche as starter. The drinks were really good, specially the Calafate Sour, go for it! The cwviche was really tasty. The dishes were Sudado de Salmón, both, really good. Recommended

Good place to spend some time in Puerto Natales, it has live music almost everyday...the main issue is that slots are so old that it gets boring pretty fast and there's tickets when you want to withdraw your credits, instead, you have to wait for somebody to go to the slot and give you a receipt. Not everyone speaks english.
Ummm, what can I say... its 2 rooms of slot machines, and the bar was closed the whole time we were there. PS, you pay to enter. Reminds me more of the local bowls club than a casino.

Mesita Grande is a pizzeria with a wide selection of pizzas and pastas. The restaurant is small, so it can get crowded, but the food is excellent. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great. The wait time for pizza is lengthy, but well worth it in terms of quality food.

I wasn't looking for this place, I was planning on eating at another restaurant nearby but it was closed, oh boy, what a surprise. The food was super fresh, tasty and plentiful. Our server Roberto was extremely friendly and complaisant. The place was so good we went two days in a row to try different items. If you ever in Puerto Natales don't miss the opportunity to eat at Mesita Grande, you'll thank me later 😉
The best gnocchi I've had. Was a bit concerned about portion size but it was definitely enough (and I eat a lot). Also provided extra cheese to make it even more cheesy. Didn't really need it, but who says no to extra cheese. Recommend

I ate here 3 times during my stay in Puerto Natales. I had the king crab pasta w fettuccini and lasagna once. The crab is to die for. Theyre very busy around dinner so be prepared to wait. Servers and hosts were nice and pretty good w English.
Friendly staff, great alcoholic choices on the menu, solid prices, and delicious food. I loved everything about my meal here. The smoked salmon over a bed of a white cream sauce was delicious.
I went here for dinner looking for vegan options and it has eggplant lasagna. It doesn't look or taste like lasagna to me. Also, it appears that they add tip over the top without asking, which seems like not-a-good practice. If tip is mandatory, why not increase the price of dish and give one price...
Surprisingly good pizza, especially given the variety of pizzas they offer, and the distance produce has to travel to reach Patagonia. Solid vegetarian options among the offerings. The wine is okay. The beer is simple and tasty. Friendly staff and comfortable, convivial atmosphere. There are cozier / more intimate places nearby, but this place is on the livelier side.

Had an excellent meal here with great service. Could use some improvement though - the garlic cheese bread sticks came out burned on top, uncooked on the bottom (but still tasted good) and the ravioli dish came out cold. Kitchen needs to pay more attention to temperature but the flavor was definitely there.

Africans and Chileans brought their culinary traditions together to create Afro-Chilean cuisine, a unique and romantic restaurant that serves up delicious food. The dishes are beautiful and bold, with flavors that will leave you happy and satisfied. The seafood is especially amazing, but the menu is wide ranging so there's something for everyone. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere peaceful and romantic.
I wanted to try out Afrigonia after reading so many reviews raving about the lamb chops and I’m glad that I did. Though lamb chop was not available I still had a great experience. I chose the ceviche for entree, guanaco for main and Kilimanjaro (warm chocolate cake) for dessert - yes I wanted to try everything! The ceviche struck the fine balance between tangy and sweet, creamy yet refreshing. The guanaco was perfectly cooked to medium rare; it was meaty and sweet and not at all gamey. I enjoyed a glass of carmenere and cabinet sav and they were delightful.
Food aside, the atmosphere is just warm and welcoming. This is an eatery with lots of hearts and soul and I’d highly recommend it.

This place is really nice - the ambiance, decor. Good for a quiet and relaxing dinner. We ordered a bunch of things - the ceviche was okay, it was too tangy.
Our entrees were pretty good. However I don't know what happened with the dessert. The Kilimanjaro was completely a dissapointment. And the black beans pannacotta with passion fruit ice cream is such a mismatch. Individually there were great but not sure why the chef decided to serve them together. Oddest combo!
The food at this place was amazing. I went in based on the reviews. Firstly, great waitress who served us. She was fast and efficient. The food was delicious and beautifully plated. The service was fast. I tried Guanaco the first time and it tasted like duck. It was delicious. The crab trio salmon, and Kilimanjaro dessert were delicious as well.
Stunning dishes lead to bold flavors. The soup special was packed with muscles, conger and shrimp, with a broth that was bold yet and not overly rich or salty.
The mint lamb was beautifully prepared medium rare and looked stunning, plated with one of the best mint sauces I've ever had. No mint jelly here.
The sauteed vegetables were a perfect accompaniment . The glaze was to die for and I could have eaten several bowls of veggies and bean happy!
So unexpectedly GOOD! Fusion but without sacrificing taste, and if you don’t order the scallops you will be sorry. The staff was so friendly even though we came at a late hour and were the only ones (during shoulder season, the waitress said there are lines during peak!)

Afrigonia is a unique and delicious must in Puerto Natales! The freshest seafood, calm ambiance and friendly staff - so delicious!
The food we have ordered was spot on. Flavors and textures were there and elevated - not just a simple piece of meat on the plate. The side-dishes are very big and the stuff asked if we want to have the side-salad as an entre, since my wife was having one. To our surprise a very delicious and colorful salad, which haven't received in many other places. Very kind and helpful stuff, will come next time again.

Limited vegetarian options but the risotto was phenomenal. Service was a little slow and had to constantly tag down the waiter for ordering, more water, and the check as they were not frequently walking by the tables. Would recommend making a reservation for weekends as they are very busy.

Simply amazing. Fine dining in Puerto Natales with creative menu, tasty food and impeccable service. Added bonus is a great wine list. Just the cure for creature comforts after doing the Torres del Paine hike.
Good quality food - enjoyed all the dishes we had. It took a while to order though (at least 20 min) - only one of the waiters was taking orders even though there was another person who was available.. Also we asked for water and they forgot. But the quality of food outweighed those small things - just maybe don’t come here if you you are very hungry.
The food was of high quality and very tasty. We had the crab appetizer (delish!) and scallops. For entrees, seafood masala, filet (cooked perfectly), lamb chops, and lamb shank (which was a little dry).
Crab appetiser was excellent. The lamb was grilled to perfection. Loved it that I wished the portion of the lamb was bigger. Gets crowded real fast. Recommend going early. Pisco whiskey was a good change to the pisco sour that other places serve.

Patagonia Dulce is a charming cafe with delicious sweets, perfect for sweet tooths in the city. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the prices are reasonable. It seems to be popular with locals, which speaks volumes about its quality. The cafe has free WiFi if you ask!
French traveller here : Beautiful spot when you are hungry for some sugar ! 😋🍰 We tasted 2 different ones with chocolate base and they were really Tasty ! Big portions, not really expensive and the service is smilly and very nice ! I highly recommand if you stop in the city.

Avoid at all cost, if you are on a diet! Once you cross the threshold, the embracing smell of sweet pastries and freshly brewed coffee will make it absolutely impossible not to indulge in a slice of cake. The most decadent of all is a chocolate mousse cake, aptly named as the cafe itself "Patagonia Dulce" or sweet Patagonia, but the raspberry one is not to be missed, either. Accompany them with a hot chocolate, a cappuccino or a very good espresso, all of which can be requested with a topping of home made whipped cream. Service is kind and fast and the ambience is very warm and welcoming. If you are in a hurry all cakes can also be had to go. Highly recommended.
I loved this magical spot! It is sweet in every way. The decor is charming. The ladies working were friendly and helpful (we don't speak much Spanish). And everything we ordered was delicious. If you appreciate good sweets, this is a must visit place. The bitter chocolate ice cream was a particular favorite in my group. It seems to be popular with the locals, which probably says more than I possibly could!
Nice place. The service was good, some of the staff can speak English, the coffee was okay and the triple chocolate torte is good for sharing - it's just a huge chunk of whipped chocolate ganache and made me nauseous when I finished eating it.

This café offers a delightful ambiance with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Their coffee is exceptional, complemented by a diverse range of pastries, sandwiches, and even delectable chocolates. Additionally, they provide a selection of plant-based milk alternatives.
There are so many great hot chocolate options. This shop is more of a cake/pie place than a chocolate shop.

Great place to hangout for conversation, reading, or taking your time. The desserts were absolutely amazing! I had the opportunity to speak to a pastry chef who shared all the details of the various treats. I ended up eating the raspberry dulce de leche cake while there and taking their signature cake to go after it was freshly made and the mousse set.
Excelent place to enjoy a coffee or tea and try the most amazing pastries in the city. I had their three-tier chocolate mousse cake and it was spectacular. Also, the people working (I think one of them was the owner) there are absolutely the best. Super kind and helpful.
Loved this little spot! We visited three times over a course of four days. The coffee drinks were a treat - full of coffee flavor along with hazelnuts and chocolate. We tried the lemon meringue pie, chocolate dulce de leche tart, chocolate florentines and multiple flavors of their biscuits (cookies.) The cookie flavors change daily but the brownie cookie was my absolute favorite, studded with dark chocolate and white chocolate chips. Everything is really rich but so deliciously wonderful. The ladies were all really sweet and accommodating so excellent customer service as well.

Excellent pizzas and pasta dishes they've mastered over the years, but I also have to highlight the burgers they started offering recently. They're high-quality, quite filling, and well-priced for what you get. They also have a large selection of beers on their tap wall, with a fair share of craft and local beers.

Has vegan and vegetarian options, but the food is under salted and service takes forever.
It took us an hour between ordering and leaving at a time when the restaurant wasn’t even busy. During this time we were brought the wrong order multiple times. My partner’s dish was brought out 25 min before mine, so we ended up eating separately.
On principle I generally avoid reviewing service, but this experience was pretty egregious — for a very average meal ordered when there were very few patrons, we waited for an hour and couldn’t even eat together. I’d try my luck elsewhere.
Loved the vibe of this place! They have plenty of food and drink options with both Spanish and English menus. The location is convenient and just a few minutes walk from the neighborhood we stayed at. Highly recommend trying their Margherita pizza and pesto-walnut pasta.
Ate here twice in three days we liked it so much. Great pizzas made from the in-house wood oven. Loved the quinoa salad to finally get a huge portion of green vegetables. And don’t skip the garlic bread!
We stopped by here once on our way to the park and were super pleased that we had to stop again on our way out. Delicious sandwiches and pizza (the 3 cheese was incredible). The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant was clean and spacious. The food was also very reasonably priced.
Excellent pizza and excellent service. We ordered two pizzas and both were very yummy. They only offer one size which is 30cm cut into 8 slices. 2-3 pizzas was enough for four people. We also ordered drinks and the portions were huge. Definitely recommend.

Yummy pizza like in the US. They have a normal amount of cheese, which I appreciate. Great frozen mint lemonade and salads. Other ppl got burgers and seemed to enjoy that. Got fettuccine with shrimp in sauce and later bolognesa with beef and both were pretty good by Patagonia standards. Nice service and grateful they are open late! The food is pricey but they take credit card.
We went twice and everything was delicious. The pizzas were thin crust and meant to be individual- we got the three cheese and bbq chicken. Also the chicken sandwich and Cesar salad were great! Highly recommend!

The Coffee Maker is a small restaurant in Kau lodge which serves the breakfast that is included with the lodging. The coffee is very good, as well as the pastry.

What a wonderful location and lovely cafe! We had a great regular latte, turmeric latte, and almond cookies in the morning. Then, we came back in the afternoon because it was so good. Got a black tea and the most amazing hummus, mushroom, caramelized onion sourdough toast. YUM! The view is spectacular, and the cafe is warm and welcoming. Get a drink, food and/or pastry, sit, and enjoy!
A lovely cafe with a fantastic view. They have good wifi and you can work from your laptop from here comfortably. Service is a little slow but very kind and friendly. If you're in a rush, order your food/drink to go
Cute place with a nice view of the water. Staff was very friendly, coffee was good. Waited nearly 40min for food (French toast) after ordering and found the bread soggy and unenjoyable.
Diverse cake and cookie options are offered. The coffee is decent, and the view of the sea and mountains is splendid. Outdoor seating is available for a relaxing time, weather permitting. Enjoy free wifi, and it's a great spot for reading or working on your laptop.
Relaxing cafe to spend some time reading or working (they were fine with people using laptops and had good WiFi). Their cheesecake without added sugar tasted really good. The tea selection was nice as well and came in pots. Beautiful views and not particularly busy, so you don’t feel rushed.

The coffee is very good as well as the pastry. As the hotel is in front of the Estuary, from your table you have a beautiful view of the sunset, however during December sunset is at 10PM and dusk until about 11PM, by that time the restaurant is closed, if you were planing to have drink.
Hi! We ordered 2 capu, one with caramel and the other plane. The one with caramel was really sweet for my taste. The other capu was very bitter and the milk was burned. They both didn't have a foam layer.
But the place itself is very nice to sit down and work or enjoy a friends company! The views are beautiful too.
When we payed they included tips without asking. The coffee or service wasn't the best but i did enjoy the views and the place itself is nice to read a book or to work:)
Awesome place to wait for a flight out of Puerto Natales after trekking in Torres del Paine. Friendly, great coffee, adjoining gear shop, and if you ask nicely they’ll store your bags while you walk around town!
Lovely coffee shop with a gorgeous view right by the water. I'll coffee selection is broad, with vegan milk options and vegan food options as well. It's cozy and warm, and very inviting. I look forward to going back!
One of the BEST cafes in Puerto Natales. The staff are so friendly and nice and speak fantastic English. They are one of the few places which is actually open when they say they are 😅 the food is delicious - loved their sandwiches which were so filling and fresh ingredients. Such a nice space to just sit and use the WiFi whilst looking out at the gorgeous view. Nice to walk around this area afterwards!
Great place for a brunch with the view on the lake. Toast with hummus and mushrooms was amazing. Also you can pick up food to go, so it's convenient if you need it for a day-trip. Great personal, attentive. Highly recommend
