Salento

Salento is an Andean town in Colombia, west of Bogotá. It’s known for its coffee estates and verdant scenery. East is Cocora Valley where lofty wax palm trees, a national symbol, are home to rare parrots. The town is a gateway to the snow-capped peaks of Los Nevados National Natural Park, to the northeast. In Salento, Calle Real has colorful buildings and craft shops. El Mirador is a viewpoint just northeast of town.

Farms
Las Acacias Coffee Farm boasts a stunning location that is definitely worth visiting. The farm can be reached by taking a scenic walk from Salento or by riding in a jeep. English-speaking guides are available to provide visitors with an introduction to coffee production and processing, making it an ideal starting point for those interested in learning more about the industry in the region. In addition, the picturesque views surrounding the farm are a sight to behold. Visitors are encouraged to try their coffee, as personal preferences vary widely.
Really enjoyed our tour. This is one of the smaller farms around here. They literally only sell their coffee on site, so it's a proper artisan operation. The guide was very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the surprisingly interesting coffee growing process, and a bit about some of the other plants they grow here. Got two free cups of very good coffee too!
Liam O'Brien — Google review
We did the coffee tour with Alvaro and had a great experience. He gave us a very thorough explanation of the coffee process and how the farm operates, and answered all of our questions. Would highly recommend!
Baden Ashford — Google review
Lovely place to visit. Enjoyed the walk from Salento to the small farm. Mr. Alvaro was my English speaking guide. I think I kind of derailed him with all sorts of questions. My curiousity got the better of me. lol Got the fundamentals of the coffee plantation from him. Good starting point if one is interested to learn more about coffee growing in the region & coffee processing. Preference of coffee is something I have always found personal. Go ahead and try theirs ! P.s. the views surrounding the farm are gorgeous. you can also take a ride in the jeep to & from Salento.

Curious to know all the secrets of coffee? Las Acacias and our incredible guide Cristhian welcomed us in their beatiful farm and coffee plantation. In a humorous yet professional and passionate way he transmitted us all his knowledge about coffee, from bean to cup. We highly appreciated the genuine and traditional flair of the farm in a region where coffee tours are becoming extremely touristy. We couldn’t recommend Las Acacias enough.
Alan Conti — Google review
Amazing tour. Our guide Natalia was excellent, one of the best guides we've had. Very genuine, knowledgeable and frank. Made for a refreshing experience. The tour itself is very informative. Not just about coffee but also the flora and Fauna that grow in the region to support the overall environment. You get a coffee before and after. Get to see chickens rabbits and dogs and cats play around. Someone noted the rabbits are caged and I asked about that, it's because to protect them from predators like snakes.l, so it's for a good reason. Highly recommend and hope the farm continues its presence in its current form.
Anand Ramaswamy — Google review
Went there for a coffee tour because it was recommended by our hostel and we were not disappointed. You can do the tour in English or in Spanish. It lasts around 1 hour. You learn about the history of the farm, about the geography and the country, and of course coffee. We even got to pick up some coffee. We saw the process from the farm to your mug and got to taste some at the end. We would definitely recommend doing it with them. We paid 20 000 COP per person. You can chill a bit when you drink your coffee and observe some pretty birds.
Cassandra — Google review
We had a really nice tour here with Christian. He was easy to chat to and answered our questions about everything and anything. Not far from town, about 20-25 mins walking. It cost 25k per person and we got a nice cup of coffee at the end. No need to book, they seem to do tours every hour and you can sit and enjoy a coffee and the views if you have to wait.
Charlotte S — Google review
The tour guide named Christian, absolutely sweet person who is very knowledgeable about the whole coffee process. The guide was hands on especially picking out coffee beans, putting them in soil for them to grow and even brew them! Also had some coffee from the place and have to say, it was perfectly brewed and absolutely worth your time. I would highly recommend to come to this tour all about coffee!
TheEMFanner — Google review
The tour was fun and had the right depth to understand the process of coffee. Camillo was a great guide! You don’t need to book in advance, the tour starts when there are enough people. A coffee (with great view) is included in the tour, so enjoy!
Gianni — Google review
A very informative tour (25k) on a beautiful small family coffee farm with a good english speaking guide. Learnt so much about the coffee growing and farm to bag process. The coffee was delicious, even to someone who doesn't usually like it. Very smooth and perfect with just milk and no sugar. The walk here was quite nice too.
Jia foo — Google review
Having done tours of both this finca and the much bigger El Ocaso I can't recommend enough at least considering adding this family-run farm to your itinerary. The finca is gorgeous and the tour feels very hands-on, plus you can't get the coffee outside of Colombia
Veronica Letka — Google review
Our tour guide, Alvaro, was very informative, kind, and funny. The coffee farm is stunningly beautiful and the coffee is delicious.
Maria A — Google review
Super interesting tour! The guide spoke excellent English. You get coffee at the beginning and end of the tour. Enjoyed it a lot! 🫶🏻
Sarah K — Google review
We had a tour with Cristian. He speaks perfectly English and knows also some German words. He explained everything very well and was an awesome guide! We can recommend him! Furthermore the tour is not only a tour about coffee. It’s also about agricultural situation of Salento and what else they produce there. You can walk there in 45/60 mins from Salento depending on where you stay or you take a bike/horse!

Mirador Alto de la Cruz

Mentioned on
Scenic spot
Sights & Landmarks
Mirador Alto de la Cruz is a sightseeing spot that offers a decent view of the town's layout and the surrounding mountains. Though not spectacular, it only takes minimal effort to reach the viewpoint, making it an enjoyable 20-minute activity. Visitors can also explore nearby shops, including a ceramics shop with high-quality souvenirs made on-site. The area has several vegetarian and vegan restaurant options available as well. It may be worth visiting during sunset if one has spare time.
6 flight of stairs, 242 steps to the top for the view of Salento. The Salento 3D letter signage is no longer there. - 2022/08/06
Andrew Van Hao — Google review
Nice viewpoint with a couple of stalls to purchase snacks and drinks. This viewpoint primarily looks over the town
Ant Wirjo — Google review
Just ok, not very spectacular, but as it will only take you 5 min max its also a small effort. Go here if you have some spare time during sunset.
Anton Hoynck Van Papendrecht — Google review
For the low amount of effort it takes to get to the view point there's really no reason not to do it. Is it the most spectacular view? No. You'll spend an enjoyable 20 minutes up there and move on. It also gives you a good image of how the town is laid out. Instead of going down the stairs to get back go left down a little side trail. There are a few shops including an amazing ceramics shop that actually has high quality souvenirs made right there.
Justin Neustadter — Google review
Definitely worth all the stairs. Once you have your photos from the top, follow the path down through the play area to the north to get to the second view point which is better. Then you can also follow the road down from there and avoid the stairs.
Emma Poulin — Google review
Great place to overlook the city. Also nice for sunset, but the sun hides behind some trees, so you will just see reflection on the city and surrounding mountains.
Sebastian — Google review
If you go to this lookout, dont forget to go directly right when you got op from the stairs. The main lookout is OK but if you follow the small path for 100 meters there is a wooden lookout which was way nicer.
Rik van de Wiel — Google review
Great place for sightseeing. You can see a lot of the mountains here. The restaurants around here have several vegetarian and vegan options. It's a bit of a hike to get up here, but it's worth it.
Luis Bazan — Google review
Nice view over Salento and the landscape around it.
AkuZ — Google review
A moderate hike up to the top but a very nice view of Salento and surrounding mountains. The top is very simple and a little run down.
Jason Georgacakis — Google review
If you visiting Salento you must watch the sunset from here, it's just amazing. Besides climbing the stairs will help you burn the calories you probably would have eaten on the way up.

Brunch de Salento is a popular spot in Salento known for its generous portions and delicious food. It's recommended to order a packed lunch from here before setting out on the hike, as it offers large sandwiches with various options, homemade granola, crackers and cheese, peanut butter, and a peanut-butter brownie at an affordable price. The place is owned by an expat from Oregon and is famous for its monstrous pancakes and fresh-squeezed juice.
Outstanding, offers different foods from the traditional Colombian. Large portions and tasty. Smoothies excellent. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great staff - speak both Spanish and English. Community table if you are a travelling solo. You will not leave hungry. Vegetarian 🌱 options available. Also provide takeaway lunches for the hikes. They can help with tours and trips. We returned a couple of times!!
Micky Riddell — Google review
A restaurant for breakfast and brunch is very remote, in the central area but not really. A very varied menu and most of the dishes come with potatoes, in our opinion the dishes and the bread were too greasy but the service is great and clean.

Amazing food and coffee 🫶🏼🌴 We had the burrito, Navajo taco, and peanut butter brownie. All of them were exceptional, but be aware that the taco is not the usual taco and also all the portions were HUGE 🫶🏼🩵

After spending a week eating at this restaurant nearly every day, we were blown away by the delicious food and generous portions. Before our hiking trips, we grabbed lunch packs from here, which were absolutely perfect for our activities. Almost everything served is homemade, and you can really tell there's a lot of love put into the details. Highly recommend!
Cedric K. — Google review
Spacious cafe with nice decor and very decent modern menu with plenty to chose from. Our burger and fish & chips were excellent, portions were really big. They have their house made sauces and ketchup, both are very tasty. For those who go on long treks, here they offer packed lunch.
Bartosz Brozek — Google review
We ordered a philly cheese steak and a veggie burrito. As you can see; a whole lot. Didn't get to finish it but it tasted really good! Lovely meal, cheap price. Nice spot. Recommended if you wanna visit a place which has food with western hints.
Lucy van Haalen — Google review
First and foremost i want to say that the staff are very good at their jobs. Fast service and delivered professionally. Also the fact that they're open at 7am is great because most tours in town start at 8am. The food was good. I ordered a steak omelette and a cappuccino. The coffee was locally sourced and was really good. The omelette was also quite large and because i ordered it with fruit salad instead of potatoes, i didn't leave feeling full or like trash. Overall everything was good except the price which is very high for Colombia and they add an 8% tax while every other restaurant includes the tax in the final price. I would return again if it was the only place open in town and for that i was grateful.

The perfect place for us to grab an early quick breakfast and a packed lunch before a day trip into the Cocora valley. Excellent customer service and great food and portion sizes!
Sam Sinn — Google review
We were recommended this place by our hostess as they open at 6 am - perfect for early arrivals with the bus. We LOVED the food and atmosphere. Portions are big and there is lots to choose from on the menu. If you don’t want a big portion, you can simply tell the waiter. The staff is so kind, service is 10/10 and Jeff told us about the area and what to see on a map. He gave us lots of great tips. We ate all our meals here and bought the lunch pack for our bus ride on our last day. What a great concept btw! You get everything you need in a small bag for lunch at such an affordable price. We wish more places would do this. Jeff is so kind and made us feel welcome as soon as we stepped into the restaurant. We hope to come back one day. Try their milkshakes!!! Choco banana is the best I’ve ever had and their brownies with ice cream are incredible!!! We were surprised at how much of the food is homemade. Even their peanut butter, yoghurt and granola is freshly made.
Dorothea Linauskas — Google review
Great place to start or finish your hike! They provide extensive information in English on the local trails and attractions. There is also a small store with hiking supplies. The best is the packed lunch: yummie sandwich, granola, crackers, chewing gum, a drink, banana, and the best peanut brownie ever! We ate here several times and would definitely recommend pizza, nachos, and shakes. Dine-in menu and packed lunch both include vegan options. Very friendly owners and staff speaking great English.
Marta Stanowska — Google review
We were only in Salento for 24 hrs and seemed to visit 4 times we were so impressed. We firstly found the place for lunch and got a burrito and nachos which were amazing. We then went back that night for a delicious Granola bowl and English Breakfast tea. We went hiking and got a packed lunch and OH MY GOSH, this was the best! Food was so tasty, especially during a big hike & so much variation. We even got a cute note inside. We then returned the bag and got a free orange juice and a beautiful coffee. Let me tell you, YOU MUST GET THE PEANUT BUTTER BROWNIE. It was so yummy! Can't wait to visit again. Plus, the staff were so welcoming and remembered us every time which was so lovely. Thank you Brunch :)
Madalyn Anderson — Google review
I love this place! The brilliant concept that they have created for traveller and tourist is genius. The breakfast and brunch was delicious American style, with a unique coffee blend on offer daily. Their best feature is the “packed lunch” perfect for all of the tourists planning to hike the cocora hike, as there is no real food offering during the hike and the hike can take up to 5 hours, it’s a brilliant concept! You can also rent gum boots and buy ponchos (which during wet season is great if you don’t want to destroy your shoes). I just love when a business shows initiative and caters to the tourist needs of the area. My only negative is that it’s not advertised more, we only found out about this place through word of mouth and during the hike, but decided to check it out for breakfast the next day and it didn’t disappoint.
Albina Gridassova — Google review
This restaurant is comically good. The ice cream is so big and so good and so rich that it is laughable. The peanut butter brownie with ice cream is even better. Like an orgasm in your mouth. We also got the packed lunch before a hike which blew our socks off. 11/10 would recommend this joint
Jake Lapham — Google review
Try the vegan peanut butter and brownie ice cream :) Breakfast was yummy too, big portions.
Julia Ramsauer — Google review
We got the lunch packages for our hike in Cocora Valley. We ordered them the day before. It comes in a cute little bag and contains a sandwich, delicous brownie, banana and some other surprises. Def recommend for your hike at Cocora Valley! We got the bigger option. Small one would be enough though!
Nadine M. — Google review
Excellent food and incredibly friendly and hospitable staff, who will take the time to give you an overview of the different activities and hiking routes around Salento (they have maps painted on their walls and use a laser pointer to talk you through it!). If you’re planning on doing day hikes they also sell lunch packs for 20K to save you the hassle of packing your own lunch!

Probably the coolest spot we ate at in Salento. Some say a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for here. Large portions, great service, and many homemade ingredients. We had the omelette and blueberry pancakes. Both were fantastic. Try the Heinz 57 1/2 sauce. Free WiFi and great coffee with chill spots to read or get work done upstairs. Jeff is the owner and is very kind and witty. They also to to go lunches for hikes or bus rides.
Kevin Kitt — Google review
During my last visit here seven years ago, I frequented this restaurant multiple times and was delighted to return for dinner, given their extensive dinner options. Opting for the chili burger, I requested the chili on the side. The burger and the accompanying chili were generously portioned, so bring your appetite. However, the specialty brioche bun did thin out as I savored the meal. My partner opted for the curry soup and found it satisfying. The following day, we ordered their lunch to-go meals for 20000 COP, which provided ample sustenance for our hike in the Cócora valley. The restaurant's top-notch service was consistent throughout our visit.

Great place in Salento, with an extensive brunch menu with HUGE portions. Be prepared to ask for a takeaway box. I had a portion of nachos that w could easily feed three people. Place is recommended. Only downside was my mango juice was extremely bland - which is surprising because all the juices I tried in Colombia have been super tasty. Overall tho, definitely recommended!

This was a very good place to eat food at Salento, so much that we went 3 times! They have a service where you can buy a packed lunch for if you are hiking. The food was very tasty, the workers were kind, and the building was spacious. It even had a map that showed the hiking trails, the owner of the restaurant kindly showed us the route. This place was overall a very good place to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner! 😋🍽️

Amazing breakfast spot prior to your hike in the Cocora Valley! Grab their lunch package for 20k Pesos for your hike! The lunch package is soo much food and it’s so delicious. Can’t recommend it enough!
Pablo Müller — Google review
Best restaurant we visited in Salento. Great service, huge portions of delicious food, excellent coffee. We visited 3 times and had breakfast and dinner. The burrito was excellent and easily big enough for two people to share. The burgers were full of flavour and a solid meal for dinner. Granola was fresh and flavoursome. The veggie omelette was healthy and really good. The peanut butter chocolate brownie was everything we wanted it to be. And this was the first place in Colombia that allowed us to mix fruits in the juices - recommend the guanabana and guayaba combo. The house-made hot sauce was so good - what I wouldn't give to get that recipe! Thanks so much, keep up the great work...and let me know if you'll share that hot sauce recipe ;)

Venezuelan restaurant
Cumana Bistro Food is a trendy and inviting restaurant situated away from the bustling Calle Real and main plaza in Salento. It offers traditional Venezuelan cuisine, which shares some similarities with Colombian food but incorporates unique flavors and spices. The menu features delectable dishes such as veggie soup, cheese-filled arepas, and veggie bowls—a perfect choice after exploring the scenic Cocora Valley. Additionally, their homemade bread is exceptional.
One of the best restaurants in Salento. The food and drinks were delicious. I enjoyed it so much, I went there three times during my short stay in Salento.

This was one of my favorite meals in Salento. The chef and restaurant staff take pride in serving this traditional Venezuelan cuisine as it is on excellent display in every dish we ate. The staff was cheery and helpful and the chef came out to say hello. The vibe is simple and intimate. Check it out.

Great place for dinner or lunch! We tried it 2 days in a row, and the food was really good, many options in the menu and the portions were very large for a decent price. Large selection of drinks as well, everything looked so delicious so we had a problem deciding which one to order. Definitely a place to visit!

So very delicious and they had plenty of vegetarian options to choose from! Everything was made fresh while we sipped our cold Club Colombia’s. They were so kind and patient with the language barrier. Their Instagram page is the absolute best way to order if you are visual. It is very up to date. I was able to show her what I wanted on their Instagram page. The food was so fresh, the plantains were my favorite I could have eaten a plate of just those. It was the perfect meal after a long day of travel. 🙌 🇻🇪

We overall enjoyed our dining experience at Cumnana bistro. The food is high quality, and they have many diverse options, including vegetarian ones. We ordered the hot dog, bowl, and green salad. The portions were significant, and the dishes were excellent. However, we had to wait to get a table for quite a long time before they came out. The restaurant is very successful, consequently, was very busy. Fortunately for us, we were with friends to kill time. Also, at 7 AM, they were already running out of 4 different dishes.

Amazing restaurant in Salento- especially if you are craving a salad after eating a lot of fried food in Colombia! I got some sort of non alcoholic lemonada, a green salad, and a delicious arepa. The food was incredibly good and it was inexpensive. Highly recommend!

Incredible local Venezuelan food. We found this place on google Really glad we came and waited in line There was a small queue forming but fortunately as there was only 2 of us we got seated straight away The menu is on a qr code And luckily there is photos of the food with the explanation in Spanish and English Something to note …… The food served, looks identical to the pictures! Lots of different types of food options Burgers, Arrepos, salads, so much to choose from. We had a green salad it was incredibly fresh with a yogurt dressing. We also had the roast beef Massive portions So many lovely fresh vegetables it was lovely with a really flavoursome gravy. So much so we had enough beef to wrap Some up and give it to the local street dogs too. The little furry baba loved it too. The vibe in here was lovely - plenty of tourists and great music. Clean toilets Great service - really friendly waiters and waitresses. They also serve filtered water for free which is nice For 2 meals and drinks it came to less than £15 including the tip. Highly recommend this place! #Columbiafood #venezualanfoodinColumbia #foodreviews #salentofood #Venezuelanfood #travelcolumbia

WONDERFUL! Tiny, cosy and super welcoming restaurant. Food has a homemade touch and is very tasty! We had a veggi soup, an arepa with cheese and a veggi bowl… IT WAS ALL WE NEEDED AND WANTED AFTER A LONG WALK IN THE COCORA VALLEY! The homemade bread is also amazing. The staff is just wonderful and very very warm and friendly. They are a group of Venezuelan women willing to share the food culture of their rich country. Definitely recommended to have lunch or dinner in Salento. Prices are more than fair ♥️

The best arepa I’ve had in Colombia! All of the dishes were perfect - a beautiful fresh salad, flavorful vegetarian main, and perfect coconut cake for dessert. And the cocktails were interesting and delicious! On top of all that, the people working at Cumana could not have been more welcoming or attentive. Don’t miss this while you’re in Salento (or maybe go twice like me!)!!

Dined here twice during our brief stay in Salento - excellent food and service. They tell you how long to expect to wait for the entrees, which are well worth the 30 minute wait! Awesome arepas and baked chicken, wish we could have tried it all!

Coffee shop
Café Jesús Martín is a popular coffee shop located in the heart of Salento, Colombia. Renowned for serving some of the best coffee in the country, it offers a variety of options including classic black coffee, cappuccinos, and lattes. The family-run café is conveniently situated near the main plaza and features an interior courtyard seating area where visitors can enjoy their drinks.
Its surprisingly difficult to find a good cafe in Salento, but Jesus Martin hits the spot. Quality cappuccino and nice layout as far as the area goes. Baristas are knowledgeable and can provide good recs as to where to find specialty coffee in the surrounding area
Alex Wise — Google review
Cute sitting area. Prices are a bit higher than I expected, but the coffee cocktail options are reasonably priced at ~$16k COP each. Triciclo (4/5): tasted like a sweet dessert coffee drink. Not much alcohol flavour. Kind of like a coffee with some Bailey. Fusion Del Barista (4/5): very creative drink. High acidity. Can't really taste the mint flavour, but it was nicely chilled and foamy. The wifi is really slow: about 2mb down and 1mb up with the speed test. Note: to buy their beans, it costs about 250g for ~$40k.

This coffee shop was recommended to me by the hostel where I'm staying in in Salento. Excellent place to have lunch, have a dessert or just read with a good coffee. Awesome service and the waitress Angela was friendly and kind (she adapted my dish to my need not to eat meat) ☺️.

A very cute cafe with great coffee! We got a cappuccino and it was made really well, and the staff are lovely

Coffee nice, pineapple juice nice Staff a little bit miserable nowhere near as friendly as the rest of solento! Plenty of seats. Told us the card machine didn’t work just wanting us to pay cash.

Jesus Martin was a good spot to enjoy coffee. You can choose between many brewing methods, but as far as I know, I don't think you can pick the type of coffee. The ambiance is relaxing and the decoration is beautiful. I'd recommend!

BEST COFFEE in Colombia. By far. The staff are amazing. Brownie was delicious. They are very precise and take care of making your coffee. They should have more locations. Would return to Salento, just for this coffee.

Here right now finishing my breakfast and delicious coffee, solid 5 stars on every account. It’s been 4 years since I was last here, at that time I took the day coffee finca tour that started and ended here, same perfect coffee!

We were surprised to learn that it’s challenging to find a good cup of coffee in Colombia, since most of the good stuff is exported. However, we learned so much about Colombian coffee while we were in Salento and this place was a great addition to that. The house exotic blend was possibly one of the best cups of coffee I’ve ever had. We didn’t try the food but it looked and smelled good.

The real quindío coffee taste! Served in a beautiful museum-like setting

The best coffee spot in Colombia! With a lovely patio and atmosphere, these skilled baristas serve up incredible beans. Some have even competed in international competitions. I came for a pour over and ended up trying half the menu. Their coffee and pastries are simply unbeatable! Also, specialty beans pour over for some 6K is a steal!

We came twice to this coffee shop and had a wonderful experience both times. The setting is incredible. There are two rooms, one in the front and one in the back, which offer lots of natural light. The decorations and style are lovely and quaint. They have WiFi and a few outlets, which makes the place practical to work and study. We ordered the pecan pie, lattes and golden milk. Everything was delicious, notably the pie, which was to die for. Bonus for the dairy free milk.

Super nice spot to have a coffee and chill a little bit! They offer tasty empanadas

The food wasn't bad but unfortunately the place doesn't carry ketchup. The service however needs a lot of improvement. The waiter never came to the table so I had to walk to the front for them to take the order and the table was clean either.

Totally overrated café: they didn’t let us use the bathroom as it was closed so we couldn’t order any dessert as we couldn’t eat with dirty hands. We ordered cappuccinos but those were served in carton glasses - tiny portions for 9,000 COP!

Quindu Restaurante is a hidden gem located on Calle 2 between Carrera 4 and Carrera 5, offering traditional Colombian cuisine in a beautifully decorated space. Despite being situated away from the bustling areas, this restaurant boasts a nice bar and terrace at the back. The menu features delicious dishes such as salmon pasta and flamed creme brulee, complemented by delightful drinks like Canelazo and Te de canela.
Excellent cocktails: I got the Ancestral & the maracuya margarita. The burger was solid. They made an amazing vegetarian pasta for my partner. We came back another afternoon for cocktails on the patio: relaxing reggae with a beautiful view of town on a Sunday. Prices are excellent. Modern and elegant space.

You have to come to this place if you’re in Salento. This is such great restaurant that we still remember how delicious the food was even through we visited this place 2 years ago. Service, food presentation, interior design, everything was top noch! Keep it up and we can’t wait to visit this place again!

Great restaurant! The best we’ve had so far on our trip! I ordered the Kundamana Trout and it was really flavorfull and good. My husband had the Fiambre and he loved it. For dessert we had the Bread Flan, which was also a great choice. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy. Great place, recommended 100%!!!

Delicious food. And very fancy location. Surprised that such a place exists in Salento, which is a small rustic town. Prices in line with the place, and the service is very good. I can undoubtedly recommend the salmon pasta 😍 !!wow! Also their Canelazo and Te de canela taste good. plus their Flamed Creme Brule - yummy 😋 if you have trouble finding it, it is on top of the Salento Real Hotel.

By far this is the best restaurant in the region! Everything we have tried has been really delicious and the prices are also great. Whoever that visits the town must come here.

Presentation of the food is just as amazing as it tastes. This restaurant is definitely on the pricier side in the area but totally worth it. Great customer service, cute decor and location, and a must visit if you’re in the area!

We randomly stopped in for cocktails one afternoon. What a pleasant surprise to stumble onto this place. The restaurant itself is very pretty. The view from the bar is wonderful. The best though was our cocktails! We had the El Ancestral and The Cocora, two of the specialty offerings. They were excellent! Highly recommend stopping in for drinks!

I was really looking forward to eating here all week. Sadly I left disappointed. I wonder if the presentation is better than the food itself. All the pictures looked so good! Also, the online menu and the one in the restaurant were different so just wait until you are there to see what is current. Unfortunately my dish did not taste flavorful or fresh (shrimp, squid and spicy rice). I only ate half before leaving. I paid less for so many other amazing dishes in Salento. Also, my server hardly noticed me at all and never checked on me. Maybe I would’ve asked for a different entree if she had. She also brought my drink in the middle of the meal which was a bummer too. Service is slow (one bartender for the whole restaurant). However my drink was good! I recommend going for a few drinks and ambience because the place is very cute. Bring a sweater because the whole place is open-air.

This is definitely the top fine dining restaurant in Salento. Food is absolutely delicious, fresh, and high quality. If you are looking for the best contemporary Colombian food in Salento, Quindu is amazing. Service is great and food came out quick. Our waitress/bartender was super nice and was very friendly and spoke a little English :)

One of my favorite dishes in Colombia was from here. It was a great pasta dish but I also enjoyed the other food and drinks. The service was great and also we had a beautiful view. I was surprised how big this place was. Definitely a great place to stop.
