Guatape

Guatapé is an Andean resort town in northwest Colombia, east of Medellín. It’s known for its houses decorated with colorful bas-reliefs. It sits by the vast, man-made Peñol-Guatapé Reservoir, a busy water-sports center. Piedra del Peñol, a giant granite rock southwest of town, has hundreds of steps to the top, where there are sweeping views. The nearby Marial Stone is giant rock with an overhang.

Parque Principal de Guatapé is a vibrant and colorful village in Colombia, just a few hours away from Medellin. It's a perfect destination for families and budget travelers, offering plenty of family-friendly activities. The town is known for its striking zocalos and can be easily explored on foot or by small motorized vehicles available at the main park. Visitors can enjoy taking lots of photos in this picturesque setting and find pleasant spots to relax with a drink.
Small charming town. Excellent for a family trip or relaxing day. Water activities, shops, restaurants and more….

Un village tout en couleurs. Des zocalos partout. Le village n'étant pas bien grand tout peut se faire facilement à pieds même si certains opteront pour les petits véhicules motorisés qui attendent sur le parc principal. The village is not very large, everything can be easily done on foot even if some will opt for the small motorized vehicles which wait in the main park.

Get ready for a lots of steps but the view from the top is worth it. Beautiful views and a cute town to explore. Could be a day trip from Medellin if one started early. I recommendation staying overnight and enjoying it all at an easy pace.

Very cute town! Colourful and cheerful. Very nice people and vibe. We had only one unpleasant experience with a bag-snatching dog that we had trouble shaking off us :-( *Most definitely not the dog's initiative! So hold on to your bags in crowded places.

Breathtaking experience. Everything is a little bit on the pricier side, but still affordable. Only buy meals and souvenirs at La Piedra if necessary. There's a high chance you'll get the same for less in town. Ask for prices around town too, do not buy at the first location you find.

The road trip to Guatapé from Medellin is amazing. We stopped at the farm and made a rest stop and picked up something to eat by the road. The traffic coming back was hell but it was a great experience.

It's a nice walk around town to learn about the local culture and history. You can also shop gifts and food. If you go early they will be closed but will be easier to see and appreciate the Zócalos during a tour.

This is a must. We skipped most of the souvenir stores and went straight to the little plaza. We had a lovely time sipping some coffee, people watching and taking loads of pictures. All of the shops are painted in very vibrant colors which will make for a beautiful experience and picture to cherish and share with your loved ones.

Great picturesque area...stop into the many shops for a coffee, a cinnamon roll and the many local candies...typical souvenir shops aplenty as well. Worth the visit. Can't miss the umbrella street.

A must see picturesque town. Over an hour away from Medellin, we strategically stayed three nights here and it was a huge highlight of our trip. We rented a cabin 14 minutes away and each day we came to the town to eat. Day trips are offered regularly but I recommend staying here a few nights because group yours are rushed and there is so much to see. Every day we discovered a new street, new wall art, new coffee shops and restaurants. Lots of souvenirs for purchase, and overall friendly vibes. The Tuk Tuk’s are the main form of transportation, just ask what the average cost to your destination is so you don’t get over charged as most tourists do. Don’t forget to visit la piedra del peñól.
Adriana Perez — Google review

I took the Rock tour and was excited. Be forewarned if you are obese or completely out of shape this tour is not for you. Moving on once you climb the Rock and reach the top it's amazing. Do not go on a weekend or you will spend an hour trying to get to the top. After the trip you are taking to a boat ride then a tour through the city of Los zocalos. Now that was worth the money. It is absolutely a beautiful tiny little town with so much color and artwork. It has sort of an indigenous feel to it but make no mistake the people are amazing you get a free lunch with the tour and it's sort of okay don't expect much but nonetheless it's well worth the money make sure you take water with you

Hostel
Low-key quarters, some offering reservoir views, in a casual hostel featuring a Thai restaurant/bar.
Chill and cozy hostel with views of the river and privacy curtains in the local end of town. Not a super social vibe, unless you make it happen. Especially since top floor is a (good) restaurant. Nice staff, but offered activities were a little more expensive than in town. Overall a really nice place!

The Lake View is a fantastic hostel! The staff exude great vibes and are incredibly helpful. The dorms boast personal curtains and are kept super clean, with showers and personal lockers available in the main area. They also offer a great breakfast for a reasonable price. Additionally, the kitchens are clean, and the wall drawings add to the ambiance. Just one thing to note: the restaurant is closed on Friday evenings, and breakfast is not offered on Saturdays.
Talia Nabet — Google review
Went there to do some kayak from a recommendation. To start, the price did not match with the one we had been told before. Next, the guy in reception was extremely rude. His attitude was always of contempt towards us, and he even threw the paddles at us, almost hurting my girlfriend. Terrible experience.
Steven Ariza — Google review
We had a great stay in the lake view hostel - Guatapé! We appreciated the chill vibe & rest after strolling in the crowded centre. The room was clean, had a nice lake view and the staff was friendly. The Thai food was delicious & the driver who took us to the airport afterwards was super sweet!😊
Lod Rey — Google review
Good hostel, friendly staff. They offer many activitities and serve breakfast. The dorms are spacious and clean, the shared rooms are big and there is a thai restaurant in the building.

I enjoyed my stay. The staff is really nice and they have nice things available through the front desk (boats/kayaks). The only downfall is the building and furnishings are a bit old. They keep the place clean though.

The place is nice and cozy. But its near to the street and you are getting all the noize. Olso from inside the hotel you can hear all the noise. P.s. if you are going to buy a drink i the bar (3rd floor) - dont. It cost 9000 one bottle . Just around the cornern in little shop its 3-4000 for the same. Als in city bars is cheaper :)

BED BUGS AND ROBBERY we stayed 4 nights in Lake View Hostel. when we got there, we were excited because it was very clean, the personal was sweet and we had a dorm just for ourselves. the two first night, everything was going well. the next day, more people check-in in the dorm. we went out for the day. when we got back, all our money and earphones (who were locked) was stolen. we asked to see the camera but they were very very bad and they wasn’t at a useful place. the next day, after being out for the day, we came back and we talked with the new people in our dorm. they also went out for the day, but when they came back, they got theirs lockers (who are also in the room) forced and theirs things stolen. we talked to the reception all together and someone told us that it was an old guy with no backpack and no passeport that they let him in the dorm. to finish our journey there, we woke up the next morning with many many stings on our body. we checked our beds and we found bed bugs. we told the guy at the reception but he didn’t do anything expect giving me an another bed with other bed bugs (i check this mattress too). for compassion, they didn’t make us pay for the nights after we told them that it was a serious problem and they make travellers in a situation very complicated. Great location, really calm and hot water with low pressure tho.

Nice hostel. Close to the city centre, in a quiet area. The installions are clean, bed are confortable enough. The only weird thing is that almost none of the rooms have windows on the outside, they all open in a closed patio/livin room downstairs. On the 3rd floor, a beautiful space with tables, sofa, bar and a small terrace to enjoy the view of the lake. They are selling diferentes breakfast in the morning which are at a fair price for the amount of good you get ! I think if you're not coming in low season like I did, it's a nice place to meet backpackers!
Julie Molia — Google review
We stayed in a private room with private bathroom. The room was clean and the beds are super comfy. They have a nice rooftop and a kitchen and a shared area. At the rooftop there is a Thai-restaurant. The food was ok, but nothing special and a little expensive. The center of Guatape is in a walkable distance. Overall - highly recommend to stay here.
Lisa P — Google review
Don't try to rent a kayak here! We wanted to rent a kayak. We visited them one day before to ask if we could reserve one. The friendly guy told us that they had plenty and that we could just come by the next day. The next day we come again and according to the lady all the kayaks are suddenly broken. If you want a kayak, just go to the waterfront. There's plenty of people willing to rent a kayak to you.
Stephan Koole — Google review
Really nice hostel. Clean rooms, (very!) tasty breakfast, and with a beautiful view on the lake. Close to the centre also, although not tóó close, so no noise in the evening and night. Worth the money, I can definitively recommend this place...
Koen Rochtus — Google review
Friendly hostel with English speaking employees, they have organized tours you can pick from with kayaks available to rent. The Thai restaurant and bar on the third floor is amazing and Javid will go out of his way to make you feel welcome. They will also transport you to the airport at your request for 180,000 cop. They sent me with a guy named Eban Martinez and by the end of our hour and a half drive to the airport I now call him a friend. He was also a very safe driver ! Will be back for sure

Nice place. Great restaurant. No water for showers in the morning. No lake view because of permanent drought. Good value.
J S — Google review
I stayed in their superior lake view room, which is actually quite nice. The view is nice and there’s a balcony. So I would recommend this room. Nothing wrong with it. Old furniture but decent enough room. But it’s hot in Guatapé, so make sure to ask for a fan, as it gets hot in the room and the balcony doesn’t have a net. I did notice a funky smell near the communal bathrooms. But I didn’t use them, so can’t comment further. My main issue with this place was the lack of service. There were two people at the front, a taller Venezuelan guy who was great. But there was another guy with glasses who just seemed like he did not want to be there and we were a nuisance. I asked him for a fan, and he immediately said they didn’t have it. But I told him I saw fans in the dorms. And he later admitted he didn’t know what a fan was. So fair enough re language barrier, but even still he said they didn’t have enough fans and told me he couldn’t do anything. Mind you I was paying 4-6X the cost of a dorm and was surprised at his attitude of just not wanting to help at all, and resort to “no it can’t be done.” And I had to insist I wanted a fan and he begrudgingly got me one. They should have a fan to begin with. You’re paying a lot for the rooms. Secondly, I was there around Christmas so it was slow. But there was just bad communication all around. I confirmed on my day of arrival that the restaurant would be open for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. They said it would. And last minute without notifying anyone, they decided they wouldn’t operate the restaurant because “there weren’t that many people.” But they didn’t bother telling me, even though I had asked about it earlier. So just be mindful, that if you’re going and it’s slow, they can just decide to not offer breakfast / dinner. Which isn’t the end of the world, but it would be nice if they were clear in their communication. Thirdly, it’s related to the guy with glasses attitude re not wanting to help. I asked about printing a bus ticket, and he said no. Although I could see they had a printer. All other hotels I stayed at, they were willing to print a bus ticket. As well, when I asked him about a bus from Guatapé to Medellín airport, he said it couldn’t be done. I told him I had head it could be done, and he later said it could be done but you need to switch buses. So I wasn’t sure why he just insisted on a “no” response when it was actually not a no. Just quite bizzare overall. Anyways, the lake view room itself is nice. But hopefully they have fans for all rooms.

Getaway tours has a great selection of recreational rentals including bicycle, scooter, Motorcycles, paddle boards, and kayaks. They also have a great selection of local tours such as a Pablo Escobar boat tour, bike tours, hiking, rock climbing, and many more. We participated in the free walking tour, by local guide John Micheal. He took us thought the town, everything in depth the history, current situations and future developments of Guatapé. He brought us into local shops where we got the opportunity to sample some artisan treats and classic foods and coffee. We rented single person kayaks for about 4 hours and enjoyed exploring the various islands and coves that make up the stunning landscape of Guatapé. The kayaks were in great condition and cost around 10,000 cop per hour. The rental location was quite busy organizing tours and rentals however they were very quick in getting us out on the water and offered us waterproof bags for our gear.

Essential for my epic Guatape trip! Stayed in Guatape for 5-6 days and, first of all, it was amazing. I absolutely loved that town and the nature around. Renting a bike with Colombia Getaway was essential for the trip to go so well. You absolutely need to rent a bike to enjoy a portion of what Guatape have to offer you. Their bikes are in excellent conditions and the team is super cool and ready to help ! I ended up riding the road bike which was powerful enough to overcome anyone in the road (lol) and stable enough for the bad quality dirt roads (that you might find a lot!). If I ever get back to Guatape I'm definitely use their services again. Totally recommended!

We loved going out on the lake with two kayaks, and so did our kids. We didn't get super far but it was fun and the views were beautiful. Two-person kayaks are 30 thousand per hour, 60 for 3 hours. Staff is super friendly and helpful: they kept our things safe and dry for us while we were on the lake, and they let us use the bathrooms before departure. Communication via whatsapp was very smooth.

We hired 2 mountain bikes and both were in really bad condition - dirty, gears weren’t working well and just generally very old. If a mechanic spent a small amount of time fixing these bikes they’d be much more usable but I got the impression they are not serviced at all. It was especially annoying to get back after having suffered a ride on these bikes and then see there is a bike rental shop nearby (can’t remember the name) with excellent looking bikes and the same price

La Fogata is a modest and unpretentious eatery with a Colombian flair. The cuisine is undeniably scrumptious, making it an excellent choice for lunch. They offer a variety of delectable meats accompanied by mouthwatering arepas. The restaurant boasts breathtaking views, while the trout dish stands out with its well-seasoned and fresh flavors. However, the patacon leaves something to be desired, and their coconut lemonade could benefit from some ice to balance its sweetness.
Excellent restaurant, the food is great and made perfect as you ask them to , want twice in 2 days and it's worth it . Didn't had such a good meet since Argentina! Took 450 grams of meet and was amazing 👏🏿😍

Gentleman out front invited us to eat and informed us that the restaurant took payment by card or cash. He showed us the menu and it looked good and we liked that it took payment card as payment so we decided to eat here. Food was decent with good size portions. When time came to pay we were informed only cash was accepted. This was extremely frustrating as we were low on cash at the time and the cash exchange places were closed. Very deceiving and very unprofessional. Will not come to this establishment just on this alone.

Please read all the low rating reviews before coming here if you want to have good quality food. Yes views and service are great, but the quality of food is very poor. Cold, undercooked and questionable quality. I got the bandeja paisas after seeing it was the most mentioned dish. I’m a very adventurous eater, except when the quality of the ingredients is in question. I had to leave most of my dish. The catfish soup was quite nice, although I didn’t eat the fish meat itself.

We did a day trip to Guatape and came here for lunch. Between the three of us, we shared the grilled garlic trout with french fries, salad, fried plantain (fish was cooked well but french fries undercooked) and the BBQ chicken with steamed potatoes, salad and arepa (expected more charcoal BBQ but it was more breast - it was still decent) and the portion sizes were generous. The third floor looked out to nice views and overall the service was good.

What better to eat in Medellín/Guatapé than a Bandeja Paisa. I had my high hopes since that is their dish but it turned out a flop. It wasn’t as good as I had in other Colombian restaurants. The location was perfect though. The service was slow.

The service at the restaurant was a little slow. I ordered the ajiaco soup but it’s made slightly differently to what you get in Bogotá. The soup is thinner and the potatoes served in lumps instead of blended. In addition the avocado which came at the side was brown so not worth adding to the soup.

Thai Terrace offers a delightful dining experience with a beautiful balcony overlooking the lake. The restaurant specializes in rich, gourmet Thai dishes, catering to vegetarians as well. While some reviewers find the food good but not exceptional, others praise the exceptional service and recommend trying dishes like Pad Thai and beef short rib randang. Reservations can be easily made online or by phone for a hassle-free dining experience.
Had the red curry with chicken. Very tasty authentic flavors with a nice spicy kick. Well worth the trek outside of the main tourist center.

Great location above Lake View Hostel on the 3rd FL. Very chilled atmosphere (although it feels a bit dim). All staff are attentive and spoke good English. Not sure it was the most impressive pad sew and fried rice i had, but relatively speaking, it was alight (pad sew was too wet though). Don't recommend the veggie fresh rolls though. Love the hot sauce "buffet" options.

Solid Thai food for being in South America. It's located on the top floor of a hostel with a balcony overlooking the lake. Drinks are inexpensive, has a happy hour, and I really like Captain's seating

Food was very average at best, small piece of what seemed like frozen fish and not at all spicy. None of the typical chili flakes/lime/peanuts/soy offered on the table. Service was pretty slow and extremely overpriced for what you get.
Ffion Davies — Google review
As my son was nearing the end of his vacation here with us we were ready for other than comida typica and decided to give the Thai Terrace a try. Had the spring rolls, they were okay. I really enjoy a peanut sauce and they did not have one. My son had the Pad Thai, he is a Pad Thai snob and always orders it anytime we have Thai said that it was just okay. I on the other hand enjoyed it and I don't really care for Pad Thai. I tried the beef short rib randang and that was also okay to good. We had one other dish that I guess was not very memorable. The service and location were great.

Arrived to an empty restaurant , ordered all vegetarian meals, got out mango juice right away, and waited one hour and half to get our path Thai and a soup, unfortunately as my girlfriend was eating her soup we found out there chicken in👎 up on investigation we were told that it's our fault and that we didn't mention that we wanted vegetarian soup. Things I don't speak very well Spanish but my girlfriend is Colombian and she specifically mentioned that the soup be vagatrian. They didn't change it for and asked us if we wanted to we have order another soup. Honestly we went to this Thai restaurant because of the vegetarian options. Such a bad service, super slow and the food was not as good either. Super disappointed. They need to hire servers who want to work there and not just be there.

Waited over 50 minutes for the food. I requested a bottle of red, they said they didn't have it despite saying they had it. The pad thai my girlfriend ordered was very salty. My red thai curry was average at best. It is on top of a hostel on the third floor, and it doesn't seem like a resturant at all. I recommend you to go to Casa Cuba about a 15 minute walk to get a better experience in terms of service and food quality.

I'm not the sort to usually leave reviews but had to share this place. The food is AMAZING, the best Thai food I've ever had and I've been Thailand multiple times 😂 . Super reasonably priced, the staff are lovely, and it's got a great view over the river. If you're in Guatape you have to come here, I "wow"-ed aloud on my first bite and ate every bit (even though the portions are seriously huge) as I couldn't bear to miss any of it.

Great change of pace from the Colombian food. Quality Thai food and chill ambiance. Loved it!

So what’s with the Pad Thai!? I was curious reading the reviews and people say it was either THE BEST or WORST pad thai they ever had. Naturally I had to try it! First off, it’s a cute restaurant on top of a hostel. The staff are really friendly and speak good English. Try and profit from their Happy Hour from 6-7:30. Their starters were amazing! We had crispy spring rolls, fresh spring rolls and chicken satay. All perfect! And the Pad Thai….yes it was in the saltier side as someone mentioned, but not too much! You can choose between chicken/shrimp and vegetable, and the chicken/shrimp one was really good! It didn’t come with tofu which I appreciated! (Soy no es buena…) So, for 3 drinks, 3 starters and 2 main dishes we paid 150mil cop, which is also not overpriced! If I go again, I’d ask for some chili or spices to but I’ll definitely keep the place in good memory! - Alexandra Allover 🌺🌎

OK, I felt like I needed to leave an honest review because there’s a lot of people who just lie in their review, saying the food sucked. I’ve spent a good amount of months living in Thailand, and of course, Thai food is best there lol Is it anything like Thai food? Absolutely not. Is it pretty good food? Yes. Would I eat there again? Absolutely. We ordered the pad Thai, drunken noodles and spring rolls and all three of them resembled Thai food 0% lol. With that being said, all three of them were pretty damn good.

If your looking for the best Thai food you’ve found the right place. The service we had from Karina was beyond exceptional. We will definitely be back. Thank you Karina for the exceptional customer service and the fantastic recommendations in drinks and food. If you have the chance to try this amazing restaurant ask for Karina! I highly recommend the pad Thai and the buddah azul cocktail.

Worst Thai food ever. A huge insult to Thai cuisine. The only people liking this are people who never had Thai food and maybe farmers too. The “pad Thai” is a Colombian version with crazy salt and much too sweet sauce. The chicken too big and shrimp just not done well. Why was there only 1/4 of the noodles there? Like what? At least give us some carbs. Its probably the worst Thai food I’ve ever had. I’ve eaten Thai at hundreds of restaurants all over the world. And yes been in Thailand as well. I was starving and still ate it. Donnow why it’s priced at 40+k should be 30 at most. Edit: I tried the chicken fried rice and it was an absolute disaster. 😅😅😅😅😊 Also very salty and almost no rice in it. 😅😅😅 Also completely didn’t taste Thai. Also no panden rice. Also no big unions. A complete and total disaster. Who created this? Not the brightest.

If you want a different moment, food, and experience, go to Casa Cuba, it is totally different to what you gonna get on the other places near to the malecom. The view is incredible, the attention is fabulous, and the food is great, nothing compared too the traditional fried fish you will find in other places. The menu, ok, let me explain, every dish has its own name, and the ingredients are not in the menu because it's part of the experience for you when you visit the place, Mr Oscar, the chef, will explain you in detail the way how every dish and ingredient is used to give a really good meal. Additionally He will give you a little piece of history of how he get there with those ideas for the food. Price, ok it is bit more expensive that a regular fried fish at the malecom, but it worth every peso. No doubt I will come back there soon.

They are number one on trip advisor for a reason… Stop looking for places to eat and just go here! Oscar and his wife elevated our trip to Quatape by giving us and unforgettable experience. Oscars food, ambiance and passion for service are unmatchable. They are so incredibly personable and helped us handpick our meal to our tastes. We LOVED both dishes that we got and the drinks are superb. Oscars wife is the very sweetest and goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need and more.

The food here is amazing!! We had the Chorirumba, Habana Roll and Pollo Mambo, everything was delicious. Great cocktails too. Oscar really knows how to make you feel welcome and the service from Lulu was fantastic too! Its a shame we only had such a short stay in Guatape, otherwise we would definitely come back 👌

Great restaurant with the warmest of welcomes and fabulous food. Oscar the owner was incredibly friendly and made our lunch here very special. We drank Cuban Micheladas - Lager, Rum, Coke and Lime. They were delicious. We ate ceviche, Cuban wraps and a rice dish. Everything was fresh and very well executed. Very impressive! Thank you Oscar and team for a great meal.

Amazing place. Oscar and his wife were super lovely and made sure we had a great time. With personal service and a great view, the atmosphere was amazing. The food itself was very special and tasty (ceviche, pollo mambo, barbarito) and also the cocktails. It was really a pleasure and hope to visit again

Loved every moment! Why: - Oscar the host/chef was amazing! He explained the dishes to us and what they were (in any language you wished!) - very authentic - food was good - drinks great If you haven’t visited this restaurant, then you haven’t visited Guatapé. Highly recommend it !

After a very tiring accent of the giant rock, once we were in town, walking another 8 minutes up a small hill to this restaurant seemed like too much. However after dining here, I would gladly climb the rock once more to taste their rich flavors. Perfect food! & we were lucky enough to be served by the chef himself who was wonderful. He made my girlfriend a fun drink when she didn’t know what she wanted, brought us uno cards while we waited, and made our experience great. Must try the shrimp appetizer!

Must go if you visit Guatapé. The place, the food and service are authentic. Even the owner personally sits with you to show and recommend you the menu. Extra: the berries milkshake was the best beverage.

After so many good reviews, we were very disappointed with the food, which was too expensive for its quality. The main courses (salmon and meat) consisted mainly of side dishes, and there was very little fish and meat. Try to find the salmon in my photo :) The taste was also average. However, I cannot complain about the service, which was very nice and helpful. It's a pity that not everything worked.

Oscar is an incredible human and an amazing chef. He took time to explain the menu and helped us choose according to our preferences. Everything we had was really flavorful and the drinks were great as well. We came with a group and Oscar gave us board games to play while the food was prepared. Overall 10/10!

What a wonderful evening at Casa Cuba. The diner was excellent. I had Ceviche and Thuna. Ceviche was marinated in a passion fruit sauce….so yummy! And the Thuna was on point. I can highly recommend it. Thanks to Oskar and his great team!

A really nice warm welcome with great food. Both Oscar and his wife made me feel very welcome, explaining the history of the place and the types of food. I was in Guatape three days, and went here twice. I tried both their cerviches (fish and prawns). Both were great. The beans entree was delicious. The Havana roll was also really good (although very rich with lots of sauces). A special place to visit. Lemonada with coconut was also delicious.

Seafood extremly fresh 2) Wife, husband and the rest of the team make this experience unforgettable and genuinely amazing people. 3) the view is amazing and the overall feeling of it is like a home which is a great representation of the owners Cons- not open everyday so I hope you come on the right time to guatape

Lulu, a server, is endlessly kind & helpful. I am grateful to have stumbled upon this place and will return again. :)

This was not just a meal, it was definitely a welcoming experience. The owner enjoys meeting and talking with all his guest which is great. The octopus appetizer we got was excellent, never had something like it before. The Juana La Cubana tasted good except a bit too salty. Can't remember the name of the 3rd dish but that was tasty too. We really did enjoy our lunch and glad we waited 2 days to come (since it was closed on Tues and Wed) after seeing the positive reviews and we love Cuban food.

The cuisine at Martiné Restaurante-Bar in Colombia is truly exceptional. The sanduche they offer is absolutely incredible, and I was tempted to order a second plate even though I was already full. The service provided was good, but what really stood out was the amazing food. Although the prices on the menu seemed reasonable, once I started eating, it felt like a real bargain. It's unfortunate that this restaurant isn't a chain with branches in every city because their dishes are simply delicious.
Nice spot to people watch and grab a cheap, tasty meal. We had the Menu Del Dia for $20k COP. Includes a drink, a soup and a main.

The best food we have had in Colombia. The sanduche was incredible and we almost ordered a second plate of it even though we were already full. Good service, but amazing food! Menu prices looked okay, but felt like a bargain once we started eating. I wish this restaurant was a chain that could be found in every city- delicious!

Loved this place! Delicious food, fast and friendly service, and right in the heart of Guatape. The fish was so fresh, and the bandeja paisa was prepared to perfection. A real gem!

We had the veggies plate and the vegeterian crêpes. It was only and tasteless vegetables and the crêpe was actually a tortilla. Location is great though and price reasonable.
Millie POISSON — Google review
The Crepe vegetarian is really over priced. Is not even the size of a Crepe instead that name they should call it tortilla .was literal that size for 14.000 COP

Koi Cocina Asiática is a gourmet Asian restaurant offering a variety of dishes from Japan, China, and South Korea. The menu includes sushi, noodles, and other elegant Asian recipes. While not entirely vegan, the restaurant provides numerous options for vegans and vegetarians. The owners are passionate about delivering authentic Asian cuisine with delicious offerings such as Korean Fried Chicken and Sashimi new style. With an open kitchen concept, the small restaurant boasts excellent service and quality ingredients.
I did not realize they had an Asian restaurant in the area so I decided to check this out. I can say it’s definitely the best quality for this area. The display was beautiful the chefs took the time to ensure that the food content and quality was good. The staff is very polite, so if you’re in a Asian sushi mood then I would recommend coming here for a quick eats experience.

The owners put a lot of passion in this place and create nice platters. The food is authentic to the asian cuisine and very delicious. On Monday they have a special sushi menu (2 for 1) and they make nice creations. The rolls are a bit big but the rice and fish are in a good proportion. For appetizers, I would recommend the Korean Fried Chicken and the Sashimi new style

amazing Asian food! Best one in town, we really enjoyed our food and portions are massive. Is nice to have a little bit of different food when in Colombia. They also offer vegetarian and vegan options which is great! The tuna tataki and the noodles were delicious! Highly recommended! Finally, the staff is really kind, friendly and professional!

WOW! This place was sensational. Great atmosphere, lovely staff and the food was superb. My girlfriend had the sushi platter and said it was the best sushi she’s ever had. The salmon had caviar on it! The Korean Fried Chicken wings were amazing and the wine was also excellent. High-level cuisine for a very reasonable price. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.

Excellent restaurant finally bringing some decent sushi and other fare to town. Small restaurant with an open kitchen right on the main road. Excellent service, presentation and quality of ingredients. Pictured here is sushi, spring rolls, and Bento box. Weekday Bento special is around $24000.... note: Mondays are 2 for 1 sushi. Menu available in spanish and English.

We stayed at Casa Dodo apartments (highly recommend) right above this restaurant and received 10% off our restaurant bill. The food was delicious, top notch jasmine tea (love it when they bring you a pot of real tea), interior is nicely designed and staff was very attentive. A+ Plastic Patrol score - I saw zero single use plastics

The absolute best meal we’ve had in the entire of central and South America. The sashimi was absolutely top notch! Wontons and vegetable spring rolls were a must! Staff amazing. Service brilliant. 100% recommend. Obviously not very authentic Colombian, but if you want good food for very affordable, go here!

I had a Ramen with noodles and king prawns and an artisan black sesam ice cream as a dessert and it was delicious. I didn't eat the sushi but it looked also awesome! Definitely worth a visit. The restaurant itself is small but cozy and our waiter is the owner of the restaurant, very helpful and friendly person. We enjoyed our dinner a lot!
