The Big Ben Huanchaco offers a variety of foods and drinks, along with comfortable seating in an outdoor atmosphere. The restaurant accepts American Express, Mastercard, and Visa. There is free wifi and parking available.
Very good standard of food, cocktails were good also and there is the possibility to eat with sea view, even if the first seats are pretty hot due to the sun during lunch time, in total a very good place to visit if you are In Huanchaco or Trujillo

This is an awesome restaurant with ocean view, it is my favorite place to eat in Huanchaco Trujillo, their sea food is unbelievably delicious, you must try their ceviches, arroz con mariscos, sudado even the bartender does a good job with soft and alcoholic drinks. Don't miss out Maracuya (passion fruit) juice. I promise you will want to return or you will dream with their food 💗 P.s. try the Causa de pulpa de cangrejo (causa filled with crab meat) you will thank me☺

I went during the pandemic twice and it was fantastic. However, I took my boss recently and it was not how it used to be. The seafood rice tasted weird and some of the food didn't look fresh. I was really disappointed. The view is breathtaking and the waiters are really nice. I really wish they would improve their food.

Really good appetiser and generous seafood mains. Nice view and a great place to chill.

Great food. We had the Conchas Negras and they were tasty. Beautiful view for hanging out.

Amazing seafood 🦞; great service. The Parihuela was fantastic

Had the platter for 2. Marina fría I think? Not good at all. Ceviche wasn't cold and didn't taste fresh. Toradito with ají was nice but again not very cold. The octopus dish was personally not for me. We only ate about a quarter of the platter (causa) and none of the servers cared to ask why. I think a name as big as this to serve lukewarm ceviche is a big let down and at the high price too. The yucas were delicious and the waiters were nice but yeah, quite disappointed. Had better ceviche on carts in Ecuador And other Peruvian establishments.

Chocolate Cafe in Huanchaco is an incredible find, offering a variety of reasonably priced and delectable meals. Their breakfast, lunch, and dessert options are all outstanding, with delicious vegetarian choices available as well. The restaurant's secluded tables and complimentary library create a cozy atmosphere, while their top-notch wifi enables productivity. Don't miss out on their amazing lemon meringue pie!

Stopped in for breakfast. The place is a little small. I liked both the coffee and juice. Also great for desserts. They also have some good vegetarian options.

Really great cafe with options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! I had the arabe wrap and it was amazing. Good portion size for good value.

Great little spot near the beach, great juice, coffee is only ok
Scott Ross — Google review
I love this cafe , it has great vegan and vegetarian options. The food is always good and fresh the juices are amazing. Overall highly recommended for breakfast or lunch. I would recommend adding dairy free milk for coffee (not available at the moment).

Amazing spot in Huanchaco. Fairly priced, delicious breakfast, lunch, dessert, and vegetarian options. We loved the tucked away tables and free library. Top tier wifi, incredible lemon meringue pie, super friendly staff. Great place to work for a couple of hours while you enjoy the tasty offerings. We visited multiple times during our stay. Only wish they were open for dinner.

Good food. No milk alternatives, but I've found that's pretty common outside of Lima. For you artsy coffee going women, if this place were a movie it'd be The Notebook (never seen it).
MrTimtimbruno — Google review
A bit difficult to notice compared to other restaurants on the street but it is definitely worth checking out. They have very generous portion sizes that doesn't compromise quality and taste. I have to recommend trying their milkshakes (strawberry in particular). I've never had a fresher shake than here!
Tyler Fung — Google review
Love it here, the food was delicious, fresh organic juices, and one of the best mangos I eaten.
Norley Cervantes — Google review
We went here twice! First for lunch. The wraps with falafel were very good. The sandwich with (pulled) chicken was nice too. Good value for money overall. The smoothie and coffee were nice. Went back for breakfast and we loved the French toast (in Dutch we would call it "wentelteefjes").

Capuccino was more water than coffee. Brownie was good. But for a chocolate café, I expected the chocolate sauce fresh home made..

Restaurant
Restaurante Otra Cosa Vegetariano is a highly praised eatery in Huanchaco. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The establishment is affiliated with the volunteer organization of the same name and can provide information about their program. Additionally, they offer rooms for rent which include breakfast; pricing details can be obtained inside the restaurant. The vegetarian dishes are outstanding even for non-vegetarians, and their Dutch apple pie is particularly delicious.
Vegetarian Restaurant with different options as veggie Burguers, burritos... You have an affordable menu option for 18 soles as well which includes an entrance plate, a main dish and a lemonade. Service was good and friendly but a bit slow. Nice views Free good wifi
SupereFix — Google review
This place is not 100% vegetarian as they also serve different types of meat. However, I am mostly vegetarian and I really enjoyed the food there. I went in February 2022 on a Sunday afternoon about 2:00 p.m. The meal of the day was 17 soles and it came with a bowl of squash soup and a calzone that was filled with different types of vegetables and some cheese. There was also a potato and beet salad and a glass of juice that came with it. If you're lucky one of the three tables with the ocean view will be available on their front porch. If not, there are plenty of tables inside. I really recommend this place even for vegans and vegetarians as the food was much much better than anything I ate at a strictly vegetarian restaurant in the center of Trujillo.
Maynard Dodson — Google review
Best place in town for healthy food, juices, and of course their specialty Dutch apple pie which is an absolute winner. My boyfriend and I came back everyday (sometimes twice) for their salad, juices, burritos and hamburgers. The owner is a great cook: she makes everything fresh and was more than happy to cater for any allergies (she improvised gluten free burritos, which were great!)
Carlijn Freutel — Google review
Went here for breakfast every day for a week. Kind personnel, delicious homemade food and relaxed atmosphere. The homemade breadroll with guacamole in the morning is an absolute must!

I've only been a vegetarian for 4 or so years. Maybe eaten at 25 different vegetarian restaurants. I can unequivocally say this one is hands down the best. Hows that for a review?
Leonardo Garcia — Google review
was excited to find a vegetarian restaurant in huanchaco but i don't think i'll be back. the service was ridiculously slow (30+ minutes for a simple breakfast of crepes and fruit). the breakfast came with 2 crepes that were supposed to have cheese on them but only one did?? a bit overpriced as well. and no menu del dia was available (on a Monday??)
Chelsea Chamroeun — Google review
Sweetest owners. Amazing apple pie and toast!!! The Khalo was delicious and their menu has fun and diverse vegetarian options. They also have coffees, teas, juices, and cocktails if that's your thing! 11/10 (also open later than most restaurants in case you need a night time snack)
Xifang Larson — Google review
Food is okay, plate size is quite small so we had to order several dishes to feel satisfied. Usage of good, healthy products. We ordered as a group but the food came one by one - sad. The location is really nice with good view on the sea. Apple cake is fantastic 👍🏻.

Amazing little Café! We had breakfast here 4 days straight because its probably the best breakfast i've got in south america in half a year! Really nice fruit bowl, fresh juice, hot(!!) AND good Capuccino, and two cheese breads for 24 Sol, perfect! Also had dinner here once, was also really good!

Great breakfast options and sandwiches. Highly reccommend.

The vegetarian dishes are fantastic and I'm not vegetarian. The Dutch apple pie is great. The Dutch owner Barry is fun to talk to and his Peruvian wife is a great cook. A seat outside gives you a great view of the ocean along with some fruit smoothies, nothing is better! My wife and I eat here every time we visit Huanchaco!

I was pleasantly surprised by El Sombrero Hotel Restaurant Turístico. The Cebiche, specifically the "Mixto de Corvina," was exceptional. It had just the right amount of spice and a generous serving of shrimp and octopus, all accompanied by a delicious "leche de tigre" sauce. My wife enjoyed the "chicharron mixto," which consisted of fried fish and seafood that were incredibly tasty.
On our first visit I had the lomo saltado and my wife had some kind of fish nugget dish. We liked it so much that we brought her family back the next day. Everyone really liked their food. Good drink menu, too. Waiter Miguel speaks English. We will return next time we visit Huanchaco.

Really good, I came here without any expectations but god, was I impressed, the Cebiche was exquisite, I ordered one called "Mixto de Corvina" which was awesome, it had the right amlunt of chilli and a good amount of shrimp and octopus, all served with avery tasty "leche de tigre" My wife asked for the "chicharrón mixto" which is fried fish and seafood, the shrimp, octopi and fish were superb, i can't recommend this place enough, the view is pretty good too, specially on the upper floors, where you can appreciate the sea better
Martin Bustamante — Google review
Delicious food and an amazing view in the upper floors. Highly recommended. However, it's a bit expensive. Expect to pay around 40 to 60 soles for a main dish, but it's definitely worth it.

The prices are high but the food is very good and the portions are big. I take a mix of cheviche, amazing.

(Translated by Google) I am a foreigner, I have been to many food places in Trujillo and I have had very bad experiences with the service and, sometimes, with the food. However, at El Sombrero the food was delicious and the service excellent. They were fast and the cleanliness was noticeable both in the preparation and in the precaution of disinfected spaces. Waiters wear latex gloves to deliver dishes. Really very good and exquisite.

(Translated by Google) The best thing about this restaurant is its location, facing the sea in Huanchaco, which makes it very seductive. The worst thing was the noise they had in the background (nearby construction works), the services (all with broken locks) and a part of the clientele who believes that it is normal to play music on the cell phone at full blast while you try to relax with the sound of the sea that, of course, you don't get to hear. The food is good, without being over the top, and the service, as is characteristic in Peru, attentive and very pleasant.

(Translated by Google) 100% recommended, the service is the best and the food is very delicious. Their parmesan shells are exquisite, the best I have ever tried. The restaurant is located in an A1 hotel. The prices are high but the quality and having lunch with an ocean view is excellent. I would definitely return to this place. I have already visited their other headquarters in the city of Trujillo and I loved this one more.

This hostel is truly outstanding! Its location is superb, being near the beach. Not only that, but it also prioritizes safety and cleanliness. They provide you with a key for both the gate and your room, ensuring security. Additionally, they go the extra mile by making your bed daily. The breakfast they offer is simply amazing as well. It's rare to find a hostel where you can choose from a menu for breakfast, so this was definitely an added bonus.
Food was fine but nothing special. Prices are okay. The service is a little bit unconscious about what's going on in the restaurant. We kind of felt ignored after eating and couldn't pay. The location is also fine and fits into the surfing style of the city. Right at my table I found an old cigarette - total no-go! All in all 3 stars.

This place was not good. The rooms were filled with mold. Looked nothing like the photos! We booked a private room with a queen bed but got two single beds. You can smell the mold in the rooms (Maybe the dorms are better). The staff were not helpful, they pushed us off multiple times saying ‘one minute one minute’ then never came or never spoke with us. It’s scorching hot and extremely humid (not their fault) but the rooms had no fans/windows. The location is nice & close to the beach. That was a bonus. We had a 4 night reservation & left after one night. We had also emailed far in advance mentioning we will be arriving at the hostel at 7am because we had an early flight. No one was there to meet us or showed up until around 9:30am. Wouldn’t recommend.
