The North Norfolk Railway is an exciting way to spend a day with the family. There are many things to do on the train, such as playing games, listening to music, and reading books. You can also take them on a ride on the steam engine, visit the souvenir shop, and have a meal at Weybourne station. This heritage preservation railway is impressive and very friendly.
Took my family for an Easter Sunday treat. Two 9f locos in operation. Very impressive. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Lots to see and do especially at holt. Weybourne is a lovely station to break your journey. Excellent picnic areas by the track enables you to sit and watch the trains go by

This is a brilliant day out! Even if you're not a big train fan is still wortha visit, with lots of interesting things to see at the station. Great little tea room.and the station is on the edge of the town. Great opportunity to see the trains from the platforms that are free to enter.
Mikey T — Google review
Steam trains, older-style carriages, smartly uniformed staff. Stations are well maintained with refreshments and toilet facilities. Staff (all volunteers, I understand) are friendly and happy to answer questions. For those who need more trains, there is a model train layout at Holt. Some info at the station about local buses into Holt would be helpful (unless I missed it). But simply brilliant for all the family.
John Witchell — Google review
Absolutely fantastic and would definitely recommend - staff are so pleasant. The facilities very clean and welcoming even if you aren’t travelling on the train you can still watch and look at the wonderful trains and enjoy the platform restaurant.
Scott Laver — Google review
Done a single journey from Holt to Sheringham and it's very well worth doing, journey takes about 40 minutes, can't remember what the prices are tho. Definitely recommend this train journey.
Geraint Harris — Google review
Visited it again today for the first time in 4 years. It was great - a nice ride through the Norfolk countryside. A nice steam hauled ride plus heritage diesel haulage. It's well maintained with a good bookshop and cafe. Tip - parking in Sheringham is expensive and difficult. Either travel via the Greater Anglia service - which is opposite the station or drive to the other end of the line - Holt - where parking is £2 for the day.
Mark Wallace — Google review
Thanks to the dedication of the volunteers this remarkable railway and stock keep on rolling along the coast, beautiful scenery, steam, diesel and heritage trains that could never be recreated and why their preservation is so vital. Bringing joy and happiness to everyone with more waving going on than a Royal procession ❤️👏🏼😉
Mark Hendriksen — Google review
Had a lovely day riding from Holt to Sheringham and back on a 1950s diesel train. Sadly we missed the steam train both times but were able to photograph it as it went past. The staff were friendly, helpful and smartly dressed and the cafe was good, and decorated in keeping with the period. There was a well stocked shop and clean, busy toilets. Sheringham is well worth visiting, as its a quaint old seaside resort with lots of independent shops. It was very busy when we were there in August but hardly surprising.
Alison Morris — Google review
We stayed in Wells-Next-the -Sea & drove to Sheringham station! Just missed the steam train but got on the next train which was the diesel engine! Stopped off at Weybourne station & was able to do a lovely walk along the rail track with views out to the north coast! Our next train was from Weybourne to Holt via the steam train which was absolutely lovely & had very comfy seats! Managed to find another walk away from the station but had to walk near a very busy main road! With the help of Google maps we found a small church. There was a footpath in the grounds which went through a wooded area! Back at the Holt station we caught the last steam train back to Sheringham! All in all we had a really lovely day out even though it was February we had really lovely weather for the day!
Sue Bacon — Google review
A most enjoyable train ride on the the North Norfolk Christmaslight Express even without kids....only adults 😁1h20 from Sheringham to Holt. The train is all illuminatedon the outside. Fairies, gnomes, lights and of course Father Christmas hidden in the woods. A pleasant Christmas outing
Chantal Ward — Google review
First visit to the 'poppy line' and definitely can say we enjoyed it and will be visiting again. Very good array of rolling stock and locomotives and very friendly volunteers at all the stations. You can tell they take a great pride in their railway and the image of the railway. We rode behind steam locomotive GER Y15 and a Class 37 and both were turned out very well as were the coaches. Lovely scenery thought-out the whole 5 mile journey, really did make for a lovely day, I highly recommend you buy the day rover so you can travel all day up and down the line!
Keiran Von Jackson — Google review
It was truly a delightful experience. A great ride through the countryside. Amazing scenery on both the sides of the track. A very impressive fact about the 'poppy line' is that the members of the staff are volunteers and they perform their duties very cheerfully. Would definitely want to enjoy the ride again 👍
Sangeeta Chaturvedi — Google review
A great day out to experience a bit of nostalgia. Wonderful coastal views. We went on a "Victorian Sunday" and got to experience 2 steam trains and a diesel heritage car. I actually found the diesel the most interesting as it gave views up and down the line rather than just to the sides. There are things to do at each stationand the staff are wonderful.
Matt West — Google review
Quite enjoyable Christmas light train ride from Sheringham to Holt. Pre recorded story about getting the stars back into the sky, with a light show along parts of the journey. Could be more interactive with characters on the train etc. Good concept but could do more with it.
Iain Wooding — Google review
Simply one of the best days and experiences of my life. I drove a steam train for the day, well technically the engine! From start to finish, was made to feel extremely special, supported and able to achieve driving the train with no prior knowledge. Even given overalls as it was a surprise gift from my other half so if you are booked in, bring overalls and dirty boots you don't mind getting dirty! The views from the train were unbelievable, incredible sea views, a beautiful unique view of Weybourne and the windmill. Stopped at Holt which is a gorgeous vintage station, perfectly preserved. Sheringham has a wonderful buffet room and pristine platforms. Highly recommend driving experience or a trip on the steam train too or one of their other experiences. Wonderful volunteers who were so knowledgeable, happy and friendly.

Great day out, if you like riding the railway it's 20 for a days travel. It does get busy though, but just get there 15 mins early and get your seat.
Paul Ryder — Google review
Lovely experience and dog friendly. We had day tickets, so we're able to travel up and down the line all day at our leisure. We stopped off at both Weybourne and Holt and had a look around the local area.
sue lander — Google review
Unfortunately, the steam train wasn't open and running today, a bit too early regarding the season, but opening next weekend, so we were told. So we had a nice stroll around Sheringham and a nice cup of coffee ☕️ at Kiano's, just up a side walk on the main shopping road of Sheringham, hot milky and you could really taste the rich coffee that they use, unlike other big named coffee outlets everywhere else. A very nice day out, and the weather was kind to us.
kevin jacklin — Google review
Great railway which is consistently good with friendly staff and a good variety of traction including diesel.A visit to this part of Norfolk is not complete without a trip on the railway. Brilliant Autumn Showcase last weekend.Well done to all concerned. Top Tip: Park at Holt Station (£3 donation all day) rather than pay the silly prices at Sheringham council car parks.
Gordon Fuller — Google review
I loved the train. On the way up, they told a story, and on the way back, they played music. We could take any food and drink on the train and had a lovely time. Staff were friendly. And so were the volunteers in the cafe.
Jane Perryman — Google review
Absolutely amazing Christmas experience and the lights looked beautiful. When the steam lit up on the journey was like we were going through magical enchanted clouds , little ones absolutely loved it and train was lovely and warm even on the cold winters night we went 🎅☺️

Sheringham Little Theatre is a community space that offers a diverse year-round program of entertainment, including summer rep and winter pantomimes. This small, modern venue exudes charm and passion. The box office experience was pleasant, with a bustling café adding to the vibrant atmosphere. The dedicated volunteers deserve praise for their warm welcome. The auditorium provides excellent sightlines, and the talented company made effective use of the compact performance area.
Wonderful small, modern theatre full of character and love. When I called at the box office to collect my ticket for the matinee the cafe was full and buzzing. The volunteers here are first rate and should be applauded for thier welcome to the building. The auditorium has great eye lines and the company I saw used the compact performance area very skillfully. Great venue.
adrian turner — Google review
As the name suggests, its a little theatre but the show they put on was absolutely fabulous. Went there with a friend and saw our first pantomime and was wonderfully tickled by it. Kudos to the entire cast and crew 💫. The cafe was also great with yummy cakes. Would definitely recommend.
Christa Agnes Jose — Google review
Volunteer run, lovely little venue, does great coffee and 🍰. Went to a jazz evening, very good and great value for money. We always look up what is on here when we holiday locally
Trevor Powis — Google review
Big night out was brilliant fun. The whole audience got into the swing of it. For a fun night out, I could not recommend it more highly. All that fun for £10/seat unbelievable.
Arthur Ramm — Google review
We enjoyed the show, it was a small theatre, with seats that we could see the stage clearly. Friendly peoe on the door, we didn't have time to try tea shop, but will next time.It was very busy. I thought it was a nice touch the actors went in there after the show to talk to spectators.
amanda kulkagriffiths — Google review
Brilliant little theatre. Watched a brilliant show, squirrels big night out. Very organised with intermission drinks.
Samantha Harrison — Google review
A gorgeous, intimate theatre. Plenty of comfortable seating, perhaps 170 of them, and all with a great view of the small but perfectly formed stage. Reasonable toilet facilities, plenty of space in the dressing rooms, and with a great cafe, it's a pleasure to visit for both patrons and performers alike. Located smack bang in the heart of the town too.
Ray Tempesta — Google review
What a fabulous theatre - friendly, intimate community-serving - wish it were nearer me. Just need to sort out the boiler (or whatever it is that means it blows cold air ....) but the staff were understanding and accommodating
Jan Hedge — Google review
Went to see "I am Hamlet" last night, having read a good review in a local paper. It was brilliant - a fabulous evening of excellent acting and learning more about the actors. Very friendly and helpful staff. A lovely evening in every way. We will be returning after this excellent first visit.
Patricia Wiltshire — Google review
Great little theater that totally makes the most of its assets. Didn't try the cafe so can't commet on that element. Plenty of toilets and hot water during the interval. Entry to the ladies is friendly when queuing. The only things I didn't enjoy where because of where we were seated there where occasionally times when the lights shine directly at eye level.
Wendy Jackson — Google review
As the name suggests a little theatre but one with a big heart. It has a nice small bar for pre performance drinks. The auditorium is very well laid out and there is a great view from all the raked seats. The acoustics are very good too.
Andy Grout — Google review
Really entertaining Alan Ayckbourne play and great performances from a talented cast. Thank you to all those cheerful volunteers too. A super night out

Cinderrella was a absolutely brilliant performance by all I've seen all the big shows at the top theatres but I think this beat the lot it was funny well performed and really enjoyable WELL DONE TO YOU ALL.

Sheringham Beach is a renowned seaside location that boasts a Blue Flag award for its pristine sands made up of shingle and stones. During low tide, the beach offers ample opportunity to explore rock pools filled with diverse aquatic life. Visitors can also enjoy a game of golf at the Sheringham Golf Club or visit popular attractions such as the Sheringham Park, Sheringham Museum, and the Life Boat Station. The town's coastline offers an excellent walking experience despite windy weather conditions.
One of my favourite beaches, absolutely beautiful. We arrived late afternoon so watched the sun go down after a meal in the Trawler. Can't wait to come back here. Lovely quaint town. Perfect.
Hannah Baldry — Google review
Nice place to walk along the coastline. It was quite windy when I visited the beach, but I reckon it would be nicer if the weather was better. There are many restaurants nearby with lots of charity shops between the train station and the beach
dewi safitri — Google review
A lovely little seaside town with lots to do roaming around. A lovely beach with a heritage railway just a stroll down the town. Lots of shops to visit and many Antique shops, Seafood restaurants, Fish & Chip & Cafe's aswell. There is a nice large car park near the heritage railway station. A nice town to spend the day roaming around.
Malcolm Chinoy — Google review
I had a lovely day in this little seaside town, and i will definitely go back here.
Tiago Andr? — Google review
Lovely beach, although much nicer at low tide when it's sandy. Also of course much better on a sunny day.
Tim Husain — Google review
A long, clean, sandy beach. Car parking is close by, as are the shops. Plenty of places to eat and drink. A steam railway is a short walk from the beach, well worth a visit
Peter Phelps — Google review
Nice beach, fairly quiet. Dog friendly if you go far enough either end. My only comment would be that other dog owners don't follow the dogs on leads rule so be aware if your dog is nervous. Nice nearby places for drinks n snacks most of which are also dog friendly.
Becki B — Google review
As a seaside town Sheringham is hard to beat, small streets intertwine making it a place to discover lots of shops and places to eat and drink. The beach has a very long promenade (all flat with wheelchair access) which varies the potential view from cliffs, rocks, pebbles and sand, all attracting many people on a sunny day. My photos are a bit different and capture shots I have not seen on other posts on this site. Hope you like.
Terence Voller — Google review
Clean beaches, some with lifeguards and some without. Some sandy and some mixed pebbles. Know your tide times if you want sandy beaches. Beaches nearest town are dog free but there are lots that do allow dogs so you have the choice. There are toilets near the town.
Katharine Kelland — Google review
Wonderful beach along the North Norfolk coastline and it's a pebble beach and visited during low tide and exposed sand and it was quite steep getting down but the seafront walk is fantastic and you can see for miles and the North sea is spectacular the town centre had great shops and a short walk to it we visited here today the sun was shining and it was warm spent 2 hours here I had a long paddle in the sea and chilled out on the beach and then had a walk along the seafront to the town there are toilets close by too
Hank Evans — Google review
Really enjoyed visiting on a sunny spring day. Bracing air. Lovely sights and things to do along the beach side. Sand was a little hard to access because of the pebbles, but not impossible.
Abigail Perrow — Google review
The weather was against us today. We visited the beach but the sea was in and we could only see the rocks and pebbles. We walked along the sea wall and looked at the art trail displays which we found interesting. We will visit again in the summer months.

Park
The National Trust Sheringham Park offers visitors a wealth of activities perfect for the whole family. There is a play area, swings, sandpits and a pond with ducks that make it the perfect destination for dog-walking. The park also has vast open grounds with plenty of woodland walks to explore with your furry friend.
Free to enter, pay and display parking, believe was £6.50 all day. Plenty to explore, different routes listed on the entrance board. Great views from the observation tower close to the state home (private)
xena-marie Jarmey — Google review
Wonderful gardens that are a treasure to walk around. All the expected amenities were available and most exceeded my expectations :) From reasonable prices to well organised estate. Well maintained walkways and wonderful plants. If, like me, you are not a member of the National trust, there is a fee to park. £6.50 all day. Fine, seems good to me. Parking ticket machine at the entrance, but it accepts a NT card (Free packing validation), or coins. Strangely no card payment. Fear not, a staff member was ready to swing in action and take payment using a card machine...but only after dealing with a new customer signing up. Fair enough to wait and I did patiently, but it got me thinking... "Update the ticket machine and the staff member can continue to give the new customer his undivided attention, and I get away with the family that much quicker" Apart from that niggle, it was fantastic.
Jason Gregson — Google review
Very nice and big park. Plenty of things to see and do. Can just walk around the park or also up to the sea, a few different routes. Has proper tarmac paths in most places, so suitable for all. Enjoyed the gazebo tower which has great views. Even better in spring when the rhododendron are flowering. Also has a nice cafe. Car park is free for NT members. Otherwise £6.50.
Tim Husain — Google review
Fantastic place to visit, absolutely stunning trees, plants, shrubs and flowers. Just lovely to walk around and see the views of the sea also. There is an area at the start for refreshments and toilets and also picnicking.
Carol A — Google review
Lovely place to visit for a walk. The hall is currently lived in but you can still explore the estate. We walked from the car park to the railway and then down to the coast and back. Route was approximately 7 miles. The estate is lovely and the trees were in bloom when we visited in May so if you're a garden enthusiast then definitely worth a visit. If you do like a walk then make sure to take time to visit the railway as it's lovely. Old steam trains, signs, ticket office and even the toilets which are still in use. The hall looks an impressive building but as it's lived in, you are asked not to disturb the current occupants but you can still walk the path past it. Definitely worth a visit in my opinion and parking is free for National Trust members.
Annette Castle — Google review
We went here because it was nearby to where we were staying and we’ve got NT passes. Lots of car parking space. A bit of confusion with whether we had to pay the £6.50 per car to get in ( there’s no additional cost to get in, just have to pay for the car if you’re not NT members). We were told by one person that you have to pay the £6.50 to park, whether you were members or not. Somebody else corrected her and we ended up not having to pay! There is the usual NT style cafe, book shop, ice cream stand and visitors centre. Clean toilets and baby changing available. There is a choice of walking routes to choose from. Long, medium or short. It was a nice enough place, but to be fair, we went on a soggy April day so didn’t see it in all its glory as you would in summer with all the flowers in bloom. Dogs are allowed but must stay on leads.
Joanne Macallister — Google review
A lovely park to visit with a visitor center. Food and drinks also available. Probably the best time to visit would be early to mid May when the rhododendrons and azaleas at there best, but would still be beautiful woodland and open meadows with views of the coast and the house designed by Humphrey Repton.
Philip Geraghty — Google review
It's been years since I've visited but we had a great day out. Parking was good and easy, the toilets were very clean and accessible. There was also a wood fired pizza van which we didn't use, but it smelt and looked amazing! A lovely long walk with beautiful views. Some of the walks were good for pushchairs and/or mobility vehicles. We had a pushchair and did the big loop and went off road. Pulling the pushchair up a hill that was rocky was hard but worth it.
Sarah Lewin — Google review
We love this area of Norfolk having visited several times, one niggle, parking is quite expensive but entry is free and it is a national trust site if you're a member. We sometimes park in a neighbouring village and walk through as part of a longer walk, and last time we used the courtyard cafe for a cream tea which we enjoyed and the view from sheringham gazebo is also nice.
Gary Sweetman — Google review
Amazing park to visit and hike around. Wide variety of trails that help you explore this beautiful park. You can tell spring has started here. Worth finding and exploring the various viewpoints as this gives a different perspective on the park. There is a walk also down to the coastline all with the soundtrack of the steam train in the distance.
John Anglin — Google review
This is a beautiful place. NT members it's free for others it's £6.50 all day parking. A bargain for all . Go in late April early May as we Wish we had come two weeks earlier to see all the azalea and rhododendron plants in bloom. The ones we saw were stunning though. Various walks through the gardens. At the far end of the walk there is a gazebo viewing gallery giving great views of the coast and farmland. Not for the faint hearted this bit as it's a lot of steps up to the base of the tower then or course the gazebo itself. Worthwhile though. Recommended for dog lovers and those with children with energy to burn. Take a picnic and have it when you get back as there are lots of picnic tables or have an ice cream coffee sandwich from the shop. Enjoy!👍🏻
Bill Langley — Google review
Such a stunning park! We went in early May and the rhododendrons were blooming in full force. Cannot recommend enough. Easily accessible from the car park there are evenly surfaced paths all over the park. The parking isn’t too much and is free if you’re a National Trust member. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in North Norfolk. Dogs are welcome but have to be kept on a lead.
Joshua Mutton — Google review
Another well maintained National Trust site, with lovely walks through woods and meadows. Especially beautiful in early summer when rhododendrons are in full flower.
Jo G — Google review
We did the long walk (there are plenty of benches around if you need to rest, with beautiful views). . The shorter walks are picturesque too. Our dog was very happy running up and down the hills in the woods. Absolutely stunning woods and stunning scenery. The food and drinks in the cafe was reasonably priced. Well with the parking cost. You could spend hours exploring. LOVED it there
Chelley M — Google review
The most wonderful place. I often come and do the red trail down to weybourne coast. A beautiful variety of plants, terrain, views and so many little tracks and paths to explore. Cafe is lovely too and the toilets are always clean. My favourite spot for a long walk.
Kelly — Google review
Really beautiful place with lovely walks of different lengths and suitable for buggies, wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Dogs allowed on leads in certain months when birds are nesting. Beautiful views of the coast just 5 mins down the road. Absolutely gorgeous colours of woodland and blooming rhododendrons, magnolias and other beautiful flowers. No cost apart from parking which is £6.50 for the day, unless you are a National Trust member. Small cafe serving a variety of drinks and snacks such as cakes and roasties and pasties. Toilets were in good condition with hot winning water! A lovely 2nd-hand bookshop next to the cafe. This is a real must to come to!
Rebecca Kate Reese Harvey — Google review
Well marked trails, long walk or shorter ones. Quite steep and steps need to be done in some places. Tearoom was good for snacks/drinks (usual N/T prices) Woodland is fairytale like on the longer route, with moss and the odd stream etc. LOTS of steps to the viewing tower if you fancied doing it. You can also cross the road and head towards the beach. Bare in mind the beach is shingle, we went when tide was pretty high, and there was no sand at all. It's also a bit of an extra walk to get on to it as it's cliffs at the end of the path itself.
Heidi S — Google review
Such lovely place, adults kids all can enjoy. Suitable walking trails for everyone, beautiful flower trees and coast. 100% recommend for a day out for anyone.
Eszter Kovacs — Google review
Lovely walk and cafe. Dogs have to be on lead, but Petty Corner is just a mile away was perfect for an off-walk for the dogs.

Well worth a visit. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The exhibits are really interesting and it shows Sheringhams history. You can spend hours inside it's much bigger than it looks. One of the best museums we have visited. Don't miss out you won't be disappointed.

We were absolutely shocked to discover how interesting this museum was showing the history of Sheringham. The museum is a lot bigger than you expect and is reasonably priced which is why we went in. We called into Sheringham by chance while exploring the north coast of Norfolk and parked next to the museum. It was very reasonable to enter and there was so much to see! The exhibition on ganseys was fabulous, really interesting. We climbed up to the viewing tower for a view over the sea too. I'd recommend calling in to this museum.

5 stars for food 3 stars for service! disclaimer we were a large party of 11 and the smaller tables did seem to get better service I used the online service to book a week and 2 days before the date we wanted to eat - I got a call back the next day and although the time requested couldn't be accommodated they offered 19.45 (only 45 mins later than requested) I was really happy with the booking service. Comes to the night of the meal at 19.09 I got a phone call informing me that our table won't be ready till 8pm again not a problem I'm glad the restaurant warned me our table won't be ready on time Restaurant is lovely well spaced and nicely decorated, we arrived at 20.00 and were seated straight away, about 20.20 our drinks order was taken and then at 20.30 we requested we at least get poppadoms to tide us over if they weren't ready to take our order yet, at 20.45 I asked if someone could please take our food order (tables seated after us were already enjoying their starters) 21.10 the first starters come out and wow! They looked amazing and tasted even better honestly 5 stars! The mains came out quite quickly after we finished starters and the service did improve, although nothing seemed to come in order some of us were sat with rice and nan and no main and the others had the main and no sides but honestly the food was worth the wait! I would recommend this restaurant all day long to smaller party's as you will be well fed and out in an hour, for large tables I would say go but pre order We did tell the restaurant we were not so happy with the service and they did look after us accordingly I do not want to this to be seen as a negative review but an honest one with a happy ending and 11 happy customers who would eat there again because I quote one of our party "it was one of the best bloody curry's I've ever had!"

Very popular place amoung the locals. I found the place too dark for my liking. It wasn't easy to read the menu either which is printed in black background.

Very nice restaurant with the old bank safe in view, which is stunning. The decor is very nice with paintings and photos from Nepal. Went for the lunch menu which was good and we will be back for an evening meal. Recommend a visit, nice staff and food.

We visited the Bank after some great feedback from our hosts. Highly recommended the service was swift the food was amazing, they do Indian as well as Nepolese, which we both had. The Gurka beer is lovely nice addition to the curry and authentic feel of the meal.

Dropped on this when looking for parking. I'm so glad we went in as we had such a fantastic meal. Generous portions and a lot to choose from. One of the tastiest curries we've ever had. So anyone passing through Sherringham it's a must go place to eat.
Emma Furniss — Google review
Had a meal here with my partner, both of us enjoyed the food. The momo was seriously good but we both agreed that the curries could have done with a bit more spicing, as we had different curries but they tasted quite similar. Amazing naan breads and rice. Would happily go back.

Delicious Fresh Food! Amazingly light poppadums. What a luxury to be able to taste freshly cooked Nepalese Curry in Sheringham. Definitely the best curry house this side of North Norfolk !

We really enjoyed our meal here. The chef is superb, the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Really friendly and efficient staff. A combination of Nepalese and Indian choices on the menu. By far the best food in any restaurant of this type in our area that we’ve experienced.

Visited with my lady on a Friday night without a booking. The restaurant was busy & vibrant but luckily there was a 2 seater available shortly after arrival. Being an ex-bank there are tall ceilings and a pair of old study vault doors on the rear wall. Interesting. 2 plain/2 spicy pappadum & chutney tray Achari Chicken Nepalese Style Lamb Curry Garlic Naan Saffron Rice A beautiful meal. Every bite was eagerly consumed with some plate sharing also. Chicken & lamb were beautiful cooked perfectly and tender throughout. The rice was a excellent accompaniment to be mixed in with our sauces. The naan bread was cooked perfectly with no burns to the base and a tasty garlic garnish atop. A really nice ambiance to the room with the courteous and not too insistent service made for a very good meal experience. Good reputation well deserved.

Stopped in once and had take away once. Fantastic food, amazing flavours and great staff. Try to go every time we visit. The mango chicken is delicious! The Gurkha beer has fresh and crisp flavour to it. Highly recommend.

Just fabulous! Have been many times and love the place. High quality, well cooked food and superb service. The Tandoori chicken starter is amazing and my honey chilli chicken with special rice was packed with chicken and so flavoursome.

Bangladeshi restaurant
Labone Indian Cuisine, established in 1990, is one of the oldest Indian restaurants in North Norfolk. The staff is dedicated to providing the best Indian and Bangladeshi food using high-quality ingredients. The restaurant has won accolades for being the best restaurant of the year. It offers a large menu with excellent curries and friendly staff, making it a great choice for both eat-in and takeaway options.
I stopped for a takeout but wished I had ate in based on the great service I received. The food was awesome, honestly one of the best curries I have had in years. Fresh prepared, not greasy and balanced spice. Thanks.
Mark Hurren — Google review
A fantastic curry house offering a very large menu and excellent curries. Having eaten here on many occasions, the food has always been fantastic, staff are very friendly and an excellent choice. Would certainly recommend Labone for eat-in or takeaway! Great choice for vegetarians with loads of options at a fair price.

Arrived on time, that is the best I can say for this place, ordered meat samosas starter which were two of the smallest samosas I have ever seen. Ordered chicken tikka biryani as a main, the meat was half the size cubes as we get back home, and the meat was dry as if it had been left out. I will never order from this place ever again.

Excellent food, service and busy for a Monday. Good talking to the owner. Would recommend booking but also ok for walk in.

If you are in the area check them out! (Even if you're not in the area, worth the drive) from the moment you enter the resturant the staff are all happy and friendly, really go above and beyond with their service, the food is exceptional and they should be so proud to be running an establishment like this one. Will definitely be returning!

It's a joy to write about this restaurant. Food delicious, service way beyond ,they checked everything for my intolerances. Unpretentious building, inside quite lovely , I could take my 92 Yr old mum to enjoy a meal here. Access isn't perfect for a wheelchair it does have one step into the building which can be negotiated. Later found out it has won accolades as best restaurant of the year. I'm not surprised.

Ordered a delivery meal Delivery driver was lovely Pity I cannot say the same about food Ordered 2 x chicken tikka main meals which comes with salad The salad consisted of a tiny amount of yellowish lettuce one slice of tomato and one slice of cucumber. The chicken tikka was so dry and almost unedable. Also Ordered Nan bread that must have been cooked a long time and warmed up. Very poor food at a premium price. Not recommend at all.

Visited here with my parents yesterday and was a little disappointed...The menu that was outside was not offered inside - we were given a Lunch Express Menu whereas a full menu was not offered at all. The Lunch Express menu had some of the more popular options, which was nice but my wife was excited to have something that was not on the menu. The food was served quickly and the staff were friendly, but the food was only slightly above average - some good flavours in there but they could have added more vegetables and meat to pad out the noodles etc. I would go again, but more accuracy on the menu would have been appreciated.

We went here for a dinner recently and it was a nice meal out. Three of us had some Deepfried Calamari, Sweetcorn cake, Pad Thai, seafood noodles, some speacial fried rice and egg fried rice. All the dishes were tasty. The Pad Thai was very sweet and not spicey at all, which was a bit disappointing. We found the spicey levels were generally low, even the 3 chilli rated Seafood noodles. However, it wasn't a massive problem. The interior decor was very nice. The staff were very friendly and respectful. We wouldn't mind visiting here again. Thank you 😊

Great quality food! 7.95 lunch special for a variety of mains, 11.50 gets the main plus a starter. The service and food delivery was slow but otherwise the staff was kind & helpful. Variety of options for vegetarians/vegans with tofu
Mariam Motamedi — Google review
Incredibly slow service, 30 minutes to get our starter which is okay, but over an hour for our main course wasn’t okay. The waiter completely messed up the drinks order, I never actually what I wanted! There was apparently only one chef on and it was raining so there were several walk ins. We had booked, but the walk ins were getting served food before us, as were the customers who were loudly complaining. It was meant to be our highlight meal, as it is one of our favourite restaurants, sadly, after tonight we won’t be going back. The food was nice enough, but not up to their usual standard.
Rose Wood — Google review
Popular restaurant that caters well for large family groups / parties. Deceptively large with as much space upstairs as down. Mainly Thai cuisine with a few Malaysian and other dishes, excellent quality food and great service. Booking likely necessary in tourist season and especially for larger groups but we managed to get in with only a day’s notice when most places we tried were fully booked. We paid £200 for 3 courses for 6 people with drinks, could have saved a bit by sharing rice between 2 as quite a bit left due to large portion.

Restaurant Right in the middle of the high street Group of 3 of us ate Saturday lunchtime, friendly& accommodating service, great tasting food, so we decided to detour to eat in again on our way back home m only disappointment is they slough it’s only a low step in & then the restaurant is on one level , it was difficult getting the wheelchair in even without me in it and they have no accessible toilet ( in fact their toilets are all up a couple of flights of stairs ( there is a hand railon both sides to assist! Delicious food at a reasonable price , if I lived local It would be a regular 😊

We dined here before the thursford evening show. It was superb. We had duck, chicken noodles and giant prawn salad. All delicious and full of Asian flavour. The service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

I stopped by this evening, as it looked a nice Thai restaurant on the outside and the menu sounded good and was reasonably priced. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and that really does make a huge difference when you go out for a meal. It was lovely. I chose a chicken parcel starter with sweet chilling sauce and it was lovely. Then I had a Pad Thai with prawns. That was really tasty and light. I wasn't rushed to finish and I enjoyed a relaxing evening and a tasty meal. I always judge Thai restaurants on their Pad Thai and I'll definitely be going back there and trying something else, next time I'm in Sheringham.

Oh My Word...We popped in to this restaurant on the off chance as we looked at a few of the pubs in Sheringham but didn't fancy any of them. So glad we did! We had a set meal for 2 and boy it was absolutely delicious! The chef came out to ask us if we were happy to which we both were indeed. All three courses were freshly cooked. We couldn't fault it. We will definitely go back again for sure. I Vlogg my food on my Fat2Health YouTube Channel for weight loss. You don't have to avoid restaurants to lose weight! 10.7 stone gone. We love our food and feeling so good. Please check this restaurant out.

Very good Thai food place. We can see lots of locals of all ages coming to eat there. Quick service too.
Kumudu Studds — Google review
I would give this place zero stars if possible and I'm not sure where to start. We went on a help out to eat out night but the service was truly appalling, my son booked a 6.30 slot as we were on holiday with my 5 year old granddaughter. Now bear in mind they have a reduced menu on these evenings I assume to make it easier and quicker for all concerned, but we had 2 courses and did not leave the restaurant until after 9 o'clock and that was with us going downstairs to pay, as we refused to wait for them to bring the bill to us as God knows what time we would have got that. In all that time we were only offered one drink which was when we first sat down and at no stage where we asked if everything was alright or wanted another drink, in fact my wife asked our server how much longer would our main be as we had been there for 90 minutes and had only had a starter! Also if you zoom in to the pictures of the carpet and chair you will see how dirty they are. As for the food, we had hors d'oeuvres to start which was average at best but to be fair the rice and curry for our main was good but not worth the 1:45 minute wait. It was busy but I would avoid unless you have an awful lot to talk about and don't mind sitting on dirty chairs or using a toilet that is crying out to be replaced. The service downstairs might have been better but we would never go back to test this theory.

Table ready for us when we arrived-and we asked for table near window which was also given. Service with a smile and prompt and courteous. Food amazing-we all cleared our plates- especially liked the sea bass! Menu not extensive but all dishes cooked to perfection…highly recommended and book early!! Well done everyone.

Amazing place. Staff are genuine and friendly. Food all great and very well priced, but the Felthorpe Lamb is some of the most tender lamb you will ever have. Have been twice and can't wait to come back for thirds!

Nice place with space between tables so other diners aren’t in your face. Good - portions on the generous size and excellent vegetarian options with some thought gone in. Not your usual predictable dishes. However both our main courses had too much salt. Chef please take note I wasn’t able to finish an otherwise superb aubergine with fennel and lentils. Otherwise a great option for good, unpretentious dining. The pictures and photos on the walls from local practitioners were an added bonus.

After the excellent reviews we tried this little restaurant. The meal didn't start well, wine was plonked on the middle of table and the waitress walked away. We didn't order a starter and no cutlery was taken away despite prompting. Food was mediocre and seemed pre cooked and warmed up, slow cooked lamb was way over cooked and the chicken my wife was the same. Desserts were usual out of the fridge so didn't bother. £75 for one course and a bottle of wine, not good value ! We're not able to recommend.

Omg, we havent eaten a meal that delicious for a long time. First time trying Marmalade after moving to the area and I can definately say we'll be back ! Incredible food, excellent service and a lovely vibe . I had chicken stuffed with mozzarella with a leek and tarragon sauce and dauphinoise potato's, soooo delicious , then for desert we shared a pineapple bread and butter pudding with toffee sauce and coconut icecream- my mouths watering just reliving it!😁 Well done all, can't wait to revisit!

We prebooked and a nice touch with a birthday card on the table as it was my husbands 40th birthday. A good selection on the menu.  My husband had the crab starter which he really liked.  Subtle Asian flavours and delicate crab meat. My Pigeon breast was pink and tender and the salad fresh. For main we both opted for lamb rump and Anna potato. The lamb rump was slow cooked and just the touch of a fork broke it apart. The Anna potato was buttery and crisp of the bottom and soft inside.  The sauce was excellent. Perfectly cooked asparagus to go with it. Dessert we had panacotta.. lime and coconut. Had a good wobble a lovely poppy seed biscuit for a bit of crunch and fresh raspberry blueberry and strawberry. Even a little rendition of happy birthday as it was placed on the table.  Very sweet.  A great way to finish. The Picpoul wine was also good. Excellent service and a very enjoyable meal. £92 excluding tip. Would go again.

Wonderful bistro in Sheringham and the best meal we had out over 7 nights in Norfolk. We thought it was very reasonably priced for the quality of the food, certainly heads and tails above the places we visited in Thornham which cost considerably more. I wouldn't usually take a photo of soup but this was a butternut, chilli and chocolate soup and the best soup I've ever had in my life...and I've tried a lot of homemade weird and wonderful combos! Mains were superb. Meat was tender, perfectly cooked and everything was super tasty. Prob the best duck I've had too. Service was really lovely. Attentive but not overly. We enjoyed a local lager and a bottle of Shiraz too.

Whilst staying in Sherringham, Marmalade was recommended as a must visit place to catch a bit to eat so we booked. The venue is very inviting and has some very unique lighting, which is adds to the ambiance. The staff are friendly and do their upmost to make you feel at home. The menu is an interesting mix of curiosity and excitement. We went with mushrooms and the Duck spring rolls. I'm told the mushrooms were delicious and my duck dish was good and, would've been great had the carrot & orange chutney delivered a bigger punch. On to mains... I always say it's a good sign whe everyone chooses a different dish 🙌🏽. The pork belly n chorizo was nice, the stuffed chicken breast was good and the slow cooked lamb the winner, sadly leaving no room for dessert. Would've given ⭐⭐⭐⭐ but for some small things like, only 1 WC and our waitress not pouring the 1st drink on a bottle of fizz. I think the bill for 3 of us was around the £120 mark. This place has real potential to be that sparkling diamond and is well worth the visit but be sure to book else you'll find that they are full.

We loved Marmalade - we think the best place to eat in Sheringham, and it would lure us back when visiting Norfolk again. The food is delicious, the Chef/owner clearly takes pride in producing menus that are expertly thought through and beautifully served, with lots of delicious local produce weaved into the menu. The cookery is produced by someone who, amongst other things, is clearly highly trained in French cookery skills. The vibe of the restaurant is very relaxed and informal, which we loved. Front of house staff are warm and friendly. We are here on a short break and treating ourselves to a second meal there on our last night ❤️.

This cosy, owner managed restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere from the moment you step across the threshold. Sonya and her daughter Tilda will be there to greet and seat you and to take time to chat with you. The menu is simple, comprising fresh, local, seasonal ingredients. All dishes are lovingly prepared from scratch in the restaurant's kitchen. We were a table of 5 and our tasty and varied choices of starters are in the photos. I'd recommend the lamb kofta on a bed of couscous and the roasted peppers with goat's cheese. No. 10 offers 3 fish dishes on their summer menu. I had the plaice and my wife had the cod, both of which were absolutely delicious. A vegetable dish for the table, comprising carrots and broccoli was perfectly cooked. The desserts too are great. We'd recommend the cherry & almond tart and the Crème Brûlée. Service is excellent, we were addressed by name having introduced ourselves on arrival to the vivacious Sonya. 5 stars in all categories. Highly recommend and great value. Will definitely return.

We had a fabulous evening in this refreshingly quirky restaurant. Excellent service and local advice, really well cooked food from an interesting menu. An absolutely wonderful evening was had at this restaurant. The food was magnificent: a flavourful fish soup starter, followed by a fillet steak with dauphinoise potatoes and perfectly cooked vegetables. The service was also excellent. Our hostess (who I believe may been the owner) was extremely helpful and gracious. Overall one of the best restaurant experiences I've had!

No.10 is the most delicious place to dine in Sherringham. Perfect place for a date night to a lovely get together with friends or family evenings only. Returning each year Sonya is always on form the service is exceptional which compliments the food, Absolutely delicious! The menu is seasonal which is always filled with local produce. Adapting to dietary needs a bonus there is no shellfish used, as we have a shellfish allergy. I enjoy a starter & main but the puddings are perfected, with the options of liquor coffees, love the Calipso! No.10 is the sweetest chic restaurant you will not be disappointed! One of my returning favs along the North Norfolk Coastline.

Probably the best restaurant I have been to in Sheringham. Good quality dishes all round and service with a smile. I recommend the parma ham and asparagus to start with, and the filled steak for mains.
Martin — Google review
The food is well cooked, looks great, and tastes good. I have posted pictures. Water supplied to the table very quickly as was freshly baked bread in an olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip which was a nice touch. How it lets itself down from my personal viewpoint is to see it from the point of a lone diner. There is no internet available (a decision taken by the owners) and the signal strength inside is poor. I happened to have a book but the lighting was so dim I couldn't read it comfortably. This leaves the lone diner with nothing to do but inspect the tablecloth or decor. Go as a couple, or as a group. The atmosphere is retro and dates to the 1950's. I asked about the style and it reflects the personal taste of the owners as if you had been invited into their house. Music being played were a mix of both French songs and American Frank Sinatra style classics. On my visit there was a distinct 'odour' I would describe as 'urine'. Mortified though I was to mention it, I did in the end. I am sure they will address this pretty quickly and I don't want this to put people off from going in as the food needs to be sampled. Hopefully, this is a temporary issue and the next reviewer can update for the benefit of us all.
