Muzej Lapidarium is a contemporary museum in Novigrad that exhibits local stone artifacts dating back to the early Roman era. Managed by young local creatives, this modern building is situated in an eclectic cultural area, complemented by a small surrounding park. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of Novigrad from the top of the tower, although it would be ideal if the metal fence at the summit were removed to enable better photography opportunities.
Go to the top of the tower for great views of Novigrad. Wish they would remove the metal fence at the top so people can take pictures.

Beach
Karpinjan Beach, situated approximately one kilometer north of Novigrad on the northwest coast of Istria, is known for its commitment to the environment. This green beach features various eco-friendly amenities such as water-saving showers, intelligent benches, bicycle storage facilities, and separate waste collection points. While the beach itself is pleasant with ample shade provided by pine trees, there are some drawbacks to consider. The water contains a significant amount of seaweed and jellyfish, compromising its cleanliness.
We stayed in Novigrad for three nights. This little beach, although made of shingle was gorgeous and we hired a gazebo and two sunbeds for 160Kn. So glad of the shade as the weather was hot. There are a few bars and a great restaurant called Lungomare where we had lunch.
Maureen Gilbert — Google review
There are better beaches/rock spots in the area, but it's good enough if you are staying nearby. Plenty of shade under the trees, showers, a few restaurants/bars, outdoor gym. Some services closed mid September. Water shoes needed, we saw a lot of small pieces of glass on the beach and also access to the sea not easy.
Z P — Google review
The beach is nice but in the water is a lot of sea grass and jellyfish. The water is not very clean. However it is really good spot with a lot of pine trees for shadow. At the beach is a bar, mini golf, wc, sup etc
Ambroz Zupan — Google review
Very nice beach not far from the center. There is a possibility to rent sup boards, bicycles and water bikes.
Olga Batist — Google review
Shade from the pine trees is great. Artificial pebbles are too big so going in and out is a bit of a hassle. Nice for famillies with small kids due to shallow water. View to old Novigrad town is nice.
Nejc Trušnovec — Google review
Clean and nice beach. Lots of shade few meters from the beach and nice for family because the water is shallow

2023. Year of the Croatian euro 😱, city too expensive, but sadly no change in offerings or *quality*. Euro corrections going south. Murky bay waters ☠️ Lots of empty places on the beach and apartments.👻 👻 👻 Offering needs lots of room for improvement for this price.🤠 Until then... Greece-Spain-Pulia might be a much better choice 🥸

Best beach arround Novigrad...parking closed by (you need to pay it,usually 5€/day),bars and restaurant nearby, public beach with shower,toilet...nice sea Water with easy in...But, maybe a bit overpriced, gazebo for 2 is 25€/Day.

The emphasis here is on using only the finest ingredients, particularly fish, resulting in a menu filled with small culinary masterpieces.
Had a beautiful meal. Few drinks with friends, atmosphere was quite good and chill. :) We were enjoying our time here. Everything is near the restaurant and accessible. Dropping 5 stars, if there was 10 I'll definitely rate it. Recommending. Will be back again, that's definitely.

Absolutely delicious fine dining, and perfect wine pairings. The service, however was really slow - we spent four hours in the restaurant for the (shorter) tasting menu. Would definitely recommend this place to seafood lovers, but be prepared to wait between courses!
Katie Sherlock — Google review
If you look for a unique fine dining seafood experience - this is your place. We took the 8-course menu, yes - 8 fish courses, desert ordered separately. It is a family run place, perfect service and food. Wine pairing offered gives you insight to unique wines from Istria, also highly recommended.
Anna Trandeva — Google review
After reading the reviews, I decided to try the restaurant.i could only choose a 6 or 8 course menu. The food was good except for the last course. The seabass couldn't hold up to the citrus. The service was good. However, there were only 4 people in the restaurant. I waited 15 minutes for the check. After I asked a second time, it came with an "I didn't know you wanted the bill" . I dined alone and had wines picked by the waiter for each course. Three of which I liked and two not. When I got the bill I was shocked, for one person €155.5. Definitely not worth it. Tres Palmes is much better for less as is the restaurant at the Palazzo hotel.
Kelly Schmidt — Google review
The food here is amazing! We took 6 course meal with wine pairing and every piece of food was perfect. It was so good that we came here for the second time and half of the menu was changed as they were using fresh ingredients they had that day. All food was fish/sea based. The deserts were tasty as well.

Elegantly prepared dishes of local seafood and accompaniments. We had the 8 course and it was a great value for the quality and care to detail. Restaurant
The restaurant, "Mandrač," is an exquisite establishment. It is advisable to make a reservation in advance due to its popularity and high number of visitors. The wide array of delectable dishes offered are both savory and made with fresh ingredients. Situated in the heart of the town, there may be limited parking options near the restaurant; however, this inconvenience is outweighed by the beauty and charm of the city itself. The lobster dish in particular was exceptionally delightful and comes highly recommended.
The restaurant is really nice. It's easier if you have a reservation, since it's quite crowded. There were a lot of different dishes to choose from and so far everything was tasty and fresh. The location is in the town center so there is no parking nearby but the city is beautiful. We had lobster and it was delicious. I recommend it.

OUTRAGEOUS!!! After pouring the sauce on my clothes, the angry manager came, reached out to me without permission, and tried to wash the stain, but did not wash the whole thing. Nice ambient near the sea, we ordered mussels mix and fried squid. More then half of mussels were closed(can't eat those), wasn't worth 150 kn(21€) and squid was slightly underfried. Happened to our friends too. When we finished, they saw mussels, but didn't ask how was our dinner. Staff was pretty kind over all and we still made ourselves a good evening relax tho

(Translated by Google) We were approached from the street. Asked to wait a little longer for a seat, which ended up happening quite quickly. Asking for something to drink happened very quickly, we had not yet had time to look at the menu properly. Once the order has been placed, we 'enter' as a customer. Placing food orders took a long time, even after we indicated several times to order. People who arrived after us received food much faster than us. To pay we had to ask several times and check... again others (locals) were given priority. Too bad this place deserves better, but we learned our lesson.

Hair in the food, half of the grillplate wasn't even eatable because of the taste. The second your plate is empty they pull it away from you. We asked for the bill 3 times, and they still didn't understand we wanted to pay. When they finally come to pay. They say "inside" in a very unpleasant and degrading way. Food is dry. Probably will get diarhea from this. Don't go here

In the charming town of Novigrad, Istria, lies the hidden gem restaurant Damir & Ornella. This cozy spot with only six tables is renowned for serving the finest Istrian sashimi, prepared from the catch of the day right at your table. The menu features raw scampi and freshly caught fish marinated in top-quality olive oil, salt, and a hint of lemon juice.
Loved this small place since the first time I set foot in it. Very fresh ingredients, back to basics-let the ingredients do the talking kind of place. You cannot do better for tje raw seafood in the area. A must

Amazing experience! If you love raw fish, this is the best place to visit! Together with great selectin of wine you can get one of the best experience in your lifetime! Do not be fooled by some comments that it is very expendive, which is not. And yes, it is really hard to get in during main tourist season, which is no excuse to give them bad rating.

This is a small restaurant with big personality. I can see why some people might love it while others dislike it. We absolutely loved it. Majority of the courses are the "Istrian sashimi" - raw fish and seafood dressed with a splash of olive oil. The concept is similar to Japanese omakase dinning so expect a conversation instead of a menu. The selection of wines is wide but resolutely regional. Highly recommended.

Trattoria Gatto Nero, located in a discreet alley by the ocean since 1982, specializes in delectable dishes crafted with meticulously chosen local ingredients, often organic. Renowned for their warm hospitality and inviting ambiance, this cozy eatery offers exceptional regional cuisine. Whether it's the seafood delicacies, boskarin meat, or scrambled eggs adorned with black or white truffles, every bite leaves patrons with an indelible expression of bliss and contentment.
Don't look at the menu, order the ravioli gamberi tartuffo. I had an excellent fresh sliced carpaccio. My son an excellent grilled steak. The gnocchi with goulash from my wife was also recommendable. Also the cocquilles st jaques grilled were spot on. But... I had the homemade ravioli with cheese filling, with a small shrimp cream sauce, generously covered in rasped Black truffle. I made a new reservation on the spot for a few days later. Need, not must have but need, to have this again during this holiday. What a dish! Nice rose as well. Only down side was that the view was gone and you had to look at a half built hotel of a few levels high instead of a nice sea view.

Delightful dinner in a lovely garden with good food and wine, topped off by attentive and friendly service staff. We had been a group of 5 with dogs without a reservation and were lucky enough to get a table. Within a short period of time the place filled up. Our waiter was polite and welcomed us professionally yet relaxed. He was knowledgeable on the menu and daily offers and worked swiftly. I informed the waiter about my food intolerances which was taken seriously, and the waiter answered my questions patiently. He assured me that whenever possible they try to make adjustments to dishes to suit someone’s dietary requirements, which is manageable as dishes are prepared from scratch. However, according to the waiter, when really busy it might not be fully possible due to limited resources and kitchen space. Our group received an entrée (“kitchen greeting”), and I had been served with a dish specially made for me (to suit my dietary requirements), which I do not take for granted and appreciate highly, as it isn’t common practice. It also happened to match my taste ideally. The mains (fish and meat) were excellent. Tasteful, well-balanced seasoning, good texture, generous portion size and high-quality ingredients. Dishes are made to order yet served within a reasonable time. The fish was served in an iron tray which looked rustic and made a nice visual impression which adds another point to the already lovely dinner. The menu offers typical local cuisine with quite a selection of choices that suit a broad variety of taste. They also serve dedicated gluten free dishes (veggie and meat based). The white truffle season has just started out and dishes with these are quite expensive but worth every penny. The prize ranges of the other dishes are according to expectation and justified given the quality of the food. Groups should definitely make a booking when visiting at main dinner times, but one can always try to get a table by walking in.

We visited this restaurant for the first time and have been positively surprised. The staff is very friendly although we were already late and this cozy restaurant is like a living room and also have a nice the terrace. They serve extraordinarily good istrian/italian cuisine. The dishes in our case, tagliatelle with truffles and Boskarin beefsteak “Gatto Nero” (black truffles and istrian prosciutto), both excellent in taste stand out in terms of quality. We also had the pleasure to meet and pet THE cat 🐱 outside the restaurant… So we will definitely revisit this place.

Simple setting yet comfortable. Very friendly service. The food is really good. Starters are all amazing. Go for goat chees with truffles as they are the best I had for a while. Home made ravioli with truffles are superb.. super soft and smooth. For main dishes go for sea food rather than meat. Tuna was delicious as well John Dory fish. Scampi and Capesante were good as well. They do offer Boškarin steaks (local authentic cattle) but they I have them better in different places before. On the end we took lemon sorbetto... amazing. General experience was perfect whic was only a bit spoiled by the price being cca 20-30% more than it would be reasonable. Not that is more expensive than anything around, but this is how Croatia sets the prices these days.

The Amore Bar in Novigrad is renowned for its delectable cocktails, which some would describe as extraordinary. The wine selection is also impressive, and the ambiance is relaxed and cozy. The location is exceptional, allowing guests to spend the entire day in the stunning seaside chillout area. Sitting below by the waterside offers a breathtaking view of one of nature's most exquisite sunsets. The cocktails are delicious and reasonably priced, making for an enjoyable experience.

Great location, nice views. They had "problems" with credit card payment, so cash only, which is why I docked 2 stars for service. A no-no in 2023!

What a cool spot. Sipping great gin tonic with a sea view is my fav thing to do on a holiday morning 🥂

Great bar for cocktails in Novigrad. Pole position on the riva overlooking Novigrad bay. Part of bar sitting area is just on the gravel beach by the sea. Super friendly service. Prices a bit high.

Restaurant
Tri Palme restaurant offers a delightful selection of appetizers, including fish pate, octopus salad, anchovies, homemade bread, truffle cheese, and prosciutto. The main course features veal with potatoes and sage, which is highly recommended. Their homemade desserts are also worth mentioning, with kremsnita standing out as the best option. The waiters at Tri Palme, Danko and Nikola specifically mentioned for their exceptional service throughout the entire night.
Risotto 10/10. They have the best black risotto in the area. Fresh food, warm crispy focaccia etc. The waiters are very pleasant and cater to every request. Tuna steak medium minus is delicious.

A local recommended this restaurant to us and it was indeed a good suggestion. The seafood plate was remarkable, very juicy and not overly salty. The meat plate was not as good as seafood plate but also good. The dishes are served with a hot iron plate so the food stays warm. The staff speaks good German and was very accommodating and friendly.

Squids are offered as Adriatic squid, but they are not. The squid was rubbery and inedible. I do not recommend.

Fantastic food, atmosphere and service. They allowed us to park our bikes outside while we ate an exquisite dinner. The wine local white was wonderful. Fresh baked bread. Table cloth, open air table. Servers in aprons and white shirts - wonderful presentation. We would definitely return.

Tasty and expensive menu. A lot of fish dishes. I dont know why, but when we ordered 4 soups , one was half of others amount.... Tartar from shrimps was very very small.... Very difficult to find parking place. In total - perfect place to take a dinner
