Large landmark city square from the 1500s, flanked by arcaded buildings housing shops & cafes.
When I think of a perfect historic square, I think of Zamość. Featuring beautiful pastel colours unlike anything else in the country, amazing restaurants, museums, and various shops and stalls with plenty of memorabilia and gifts of your holiday! Zamość square just feels alive, regardless of if it's midday or the late evening. It's a beautiful gem in the South-East of Poland which would be a great visit!

The city was built in late 16th century by Jan Zamoyski in accordance with Renaissance philosophy of the ideal town. It's quite remarkable and good to walk through. I'm glad I've seen it during Christmas with the ice rink and Christmas tree. You need to pay attention to all the buildings, they all have something special

Beautiful. Just beautiful and awesome, I had a great time there on Christmas, really nice place to be on holidays, at least for a walk an maybe buy something from here. Full of restaurants in case you will be hungry and beautiful buildings (i say right? 😜)

Archetypal historic square at the heart of Zamosc. The spirit of the Renaissance invades the visitor that can feel that little changed since 1580. The sumptuous clock tower of the Townhall wardens this atemporal space and timidly tells the visitor about the stories he witnessed.

Lovely old Town market square. There is also a lot variety of restaurants and cafes around. During winter there is a possibility of ice skating and beautiful illuminations. Definitely one of pearl's of this region which you should check out.

I think that this is probably the most beautiful place in Poland. The Venetian style and the colorful Armenian houses give unique vibes.

Old City Zamosc in Poland is a true gem that takes you back in time. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a beautifully preserved Renaissance town that exudes charm and history at every corner. The main square, known as the Rynek, is the heart of the city and is surrounded by stunning buildings with intricate facades. The Town Hall, with its impressive tower, stands tall and proud, while the arcades and colorful houses add a vibrant touch to the square. Walking through the narrow cobblestone streets of Old City Zamosc is like stepping into a fairy tale. The architecture is simply breathtaking, with ornate details and elegant balconies. The city walls, complete with bastions and gates, provide a sense of security and add to the medieval atmosphere. One of the highlights of Zamosc is the Zamosc Cathedral, a magnificent church with a rich history. Its interior is adorned with beautiful frescoes and intricate woodwork, creating a serene and spiritual atmosphere. The Zamosc Synagogue is another must-visit attraction. This historic synagogue, dating back to the 17th century, is a testament to the city's multicultural past. Its architecture is a blend of Renaissance and Baroque styles, and it now serves as a museum that showcases the history of the Jewish community in Zamosc. In addition to its architectural wonders, Zamosc also offers a vibrant cultural scene. The city hosts numerous festivals and events throughout the year, including the Zamosc Culture Days and the Zamosc Film Festival. These events showcase the city's rich cultural heritage and provide a platform for artists and performers to showcase their talents. Overall, Old City Zamosc in Poland is a hidden gem that deserves more recognition. Its well-preserved architecture, rich history, and vibrant cultural scene make it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in exploring the beauty and charm of Poland.

Big, airy space, not busy at the time of my visit because it just rained so plenty of photography opportunities. Lovely place to visit.

The entire old town of Zamość is almost perfectly preserved and stunning. It has the exact same layout as it did when constructed in late 1500s. And a fascinating history too. Built by a nobleman Jan Zamoyski as his private, heavily fortified town that welcomed religious minorities (hence the Armenian tenement houses - now housing a museum - and four different temples, including a synagogue). The very street layout reflects its military purpose: all streets intersect at right angles to facilitate the transport of heavy machinery. It withstood two sieges lain by the Cossacks and the Swedes in the 17th century. In 1772, it became part of the Austrian partition and when Napoleon came to this part of Europe and created the Dutchy of Warsaw, it was the Polish military that managed to take the city from the Austrian over the course of one night! After Napoleon fell, Zamość became part of the Russia-controlled kingdom of Poland. The same military engineers who had been modernizing the town under Napoleon stayed in the city and finished their job. It became heavily militarized in 1820s. In the November Uprising of 1930-1931 Zamość held out the longest, even after Warsaw capitulated. The end of the military lusture of the town came in 1860s with the dawn of new projectile technology. If you are a military history enthusiast, it's a fascinating thing to see. A couple hundred meters away, you can find a tour of the fortifications and a remaining bastion. There are many tours available in the Great Market area, but I only encountered Polish guides. That's why I thought a short translation might come in handy here.

(Translated by Google) While visiting the BEAUTIFUL synagogue, I came across a themed walk. Fantastic. A lot of interesting facts, the Lord told you very well. It wasn't boring. We had a little laugh. I was very pleased. By the way, it was said that the youngest boy knows the photo, he is the director of Yad Vashem. Something was wrong with me. I buried it and it doesn't suit me even more. I just got an answer to my doubts. Thank you very much. I don't remember anymore what worried me that I started rummaging around. Sometimes I get tired of my inquisitiveness 😄. Best wishes As for the opinion of people for whom a ticket to the museum for seven zlotys is a lot ...... NO WORDS. The temple was built in the 17th century, but when Zamość was taken over by the Russians, the church was rebuilt and architecturally changed. Thanks to the efforts of the residents, in 1925-26 the reconstruction of the church began and it became the rectory church. In the main altar there is a painting of the patron saint, St. Catherine of Alexandria from the 18th century. Two side altars of Our Lady and Jesus. In 1938, the relics of Saint were brought to the church. Andrzej Bobola. An interesting fact is that in 1939, a chest with the painting 'Prussian Homage' by Jan Matejko was hidden in the crypt under the church. The rector of the church since 2019 is Fr. Marek Żur. We had lunch there on a not-so-busy weekday. The staff was friendly and helpful but the food inedible. Over an hour of waiting and the low food quality made the experience really unpleasant. Fish was bitter and lacked salt, fresh vegetables were old and dried, and grilled vegetables were raw inside. The quality-to-price ratio is one of the lowest in the whole town. Not recommended.

On a quiet Monday night with few customers, the food and service were good - but nowhere near as good as I had been hoping based on a strong guidebook recommendation. Although the restaurant offers both Polish and Armenian dishes, the range wasn't as extensive as I had been led to expect. The 'Armenian' dishes are really generic staples across the Mahgreb and Near East, with 'lavash' that is a pale imitation of the wonderful breads in that country. Similarly, the Polish offerings were standard tourist Polish dishes, rather than the larger range of interesting dishes that I'd been expecting.

(Translated by Google) Delicious food, friendly service, parking in front of the building, large garden. I had the opportunity to be at Renesansa many times, for lunch, for a party, for a drink or coffee. I always left satisfied. In my opinion, the best place to organize special events in Zamość. I recommend to everyone. Moim zdaniem najlepsze miejsce do organizacji imprez okolicznościowych w Zamościu. Polecam każdemu.

(Translated by Google) The rooms are clean and well-kept. Unfortunately, the breakfast was a disaster. The cheapest products, small selection, juice differed from water only in color... It seems that morning cappuccino should be standard at this price, unfortunately one can only dream. The lady at the reception was surprised that we didn't know that there was a shortcut to the parking lot from the hotel. We were there for the first time... (Original) Pokoje czyste zadbane.

(Translated by Google) Fantastic cooperation in organizing the gala dinner. Delicious hot dishes and snacks. Perfectly selected local wine and melt-in-your-mouth cebularz (home-baked) that stole the hearts of our guests. In one word, I recommend it! (Original) Fantastyczna współpraca przy organizacji uroczystej kolacji. Pyszne dania gorące i przekąski.

(Translated by Google) The food was very good, fish - trout, salmon, very tasty salads as well. The portions are really big. The trout fries were a bit too overcooked - they were hard. Desserts - tasty, nicely presented, and for a restaurant - the portions were really large. Prices? So normal. The service was very nice, although there was only one waiter who served the restaurant and the dining room of the hotel. If it weren't for the fact that there were only 3 tables occupied in the restaurant (6 people), it would probably have been a bit difficult for 1 waiter. The waiting time for the dishes is about 10-15 minutes, depending on how long it takes to prepare. The fish looked and tasted like they were really fresh. And just baked/prepared. Nice restaurant room, although the interior design and atmosphere did not match the TV with music from "eska". There is only one but quite important minus. With the outside temperature around -10 degrees, it was simply COLD inside. During the approximately hour-long dinner, my wife simply got cold. It wasn't appropriate to wear a jacket... but the heating in the room was probably turned off. Apart from the temperature... only positive impressions. Ryby wyglądały i smakowały jakby naprawdę były świeże. Poza temperaturą...same pozytywne wrażenia.

Delicious food and nice mulled wine. I ordered chickpea cutlets and really enjoyed the dish. The tiny falafels were nicely spiced, not oily, and not dry. Beans and beetroot were tasty as well, and all went great with tahini. My husband ate the roasted pork ribs and loved it. The mulled wine was very pleasant, not sweet, and really saved my cold, cold hands. We sat outside in the heated beer garden and it was pleasant enough. Definitely warm. It just felt a bit crowded.

Had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant! The food was incredibly delicious, and the terrace offered a splendid view of the old town with a picturesque touch of the Zamostye Castle. The potato truffles were a particularly delightful surprise. Highly recommend trying the local dishes—they are a must!

Very good place to eat at reasonable prices. They have the traditional Polish staples like tartare steak, lard and pierogi and every dish I had was very tasty. The pierogi were the best I've had in a month and a half of visiting Poland. The ambiance is lovely, the staff very friendly and professional. A plus is that they speak English and the menu also has English in it. Highly recommend if you are in Zamosc

It’s quite a popular place, so we decided to give it a try. In warm time of the year people mostly sit outside on a summer terrace, but there is a hall inside too. Please, note that it is downstairs, so it’s not suitable for people with special needs. The bathroom is also downstairs. But there is a trick. There is also a small pastry shop there too if you have a sweet tooth, and there is a bathroom there as well (on the ground level). The food is tasty, the desserts are too. Though the brownie was really hard to stick a fork in it… By the way, the choice of desserts is really nice! The prices are also a bit high. It’s not possible to drive directly to the restaurant, but you can still park rather close.

Had both lunch and dinner here. Cakes were very good and well presented . The dinner was great too, not overly expensive and done well with very nice surroundings. Recommended

This place has a wonderful location. Good service, some of the staff speaks English so foreign tourists can be accommodated well and there will be no language barrier. Food is tasty but customers should expect to wait quite a bit for their food during the summer season as it can be busy. Pizzas are good and big for the price, pierogis are lacking some salt but that can be easily fixed at the table.

This place was absolutely phenomenal. First, the location is beautiful right in the main square of the town. Second, the service was friendly. I really appreciated that the menu was bilingual with full English descriptions of everything (and the English is also on their website). Third, the quality of the food was so high. Not only were the ingredients clearly fresh (and local, as they have a whole section of just local game and other specialities), but also masterfully prepared and plated. Lastly, the price was unbelievable, especially when compared to the quality. We payed PLN 150 for three entrees, two cocktails, and two desserts. That’s about USD$38! Can not recommend this place more.

Lovely place. The menu had loads of regional options which is great. We had trout and duck. Trout had no faults absolutely delicious. My duck was tasty but I was disappointed that it was not served medium rare as it should be. Fabulous wine also.

Bohema has a beautiful atmosphere, especially during the evening and we sat down for drinks more than a few times. We also ordered pizza with chips once which was great! We sat outside under the tents, but there was also an extremely cosy & cool cellar which would've been amazing to sit in also!
