Rumah Gemuk Bali is a unique dining destination located in Bedugul, offering a special experience of dining while enjoying the stunning views of Lake Beratan. The main attraction of this place is its glass house filled with various plants and flowers, creating a fairytale-like ambiance. It's advisable to make reservations in advance, especially during public holidays. Visitors can opt for a picnic package to enjoy spacious garden seating or dine on the second level for a more casual experience.
This place is beautiful. You can do “picnic” on the ground floor, they even have picnic basket. The food could be better though, the dessert is good. Overall great experience. Will visit again.

Quite expensive for an entry fee (50k for each person, food included), but the scenery is worth the fee. The food, however is a bit salty (for the wagyu burger) and bit creamy (for boba milktea mille-feuille). The fries and egg from the wagyu burger meanwhile is one the finest I've ever ate. Also bypassing the 50k fee given will be given additional charges each food/drink, depending on the price.
Weda Krishna — Google review
This is one of a kind dining. You can sit on the artificial carpet in the garden in the main floor or at a table on the second level. Service was slow and food is just OK. But the atmosphere would be hard to beat! Our grandchildren had a great time!
Steve — Google review
There is a rule if you come you have to make a reservation. If at the table there is a minimum order rule per person & if at the picnic area there is a package with a set price + 1 ala carte order and must make a deposit payment at the entrance. One important thing you only get 2 hours in this place so you have to manage your timing to eat and take pictures.
Gek Triana — Google review
Bali has everything, beaches , hill stations , lakes and a beautiful place like Rumah Gemuk. When we arrived it was drizzling in the morning, it was surreal to be in the place, very romantic. Would definitely come here again
Aravind Kumar — Google review
Food 4/5, service and scenery 5/5. You need to pay 100k per person as an entrance fee but can be used later as food voucher. Little tips if you order food you'll get free mineral water.

Eating in a Glass House. We had Lunch there. Little strange is the deposit for a 50k pp minimum spending right at the parking lot. Think this place is kinda famous for the building as it can't be about the food. The service was good and friendly. We had Pad Thai which been honestly as far away from the original as from here to the moon. I am a big fan of noodle dishes especially Pad Thai but this was something else. The grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich was with too much oil surely no butter was used. It tasted also as used oil was used. Laksa was good. Chicken cubes been cut to big for our taste. Cappuccino was a little weak. For us no place to go back.

One of dreamy destination in Bedugul. Once you enter you will feel the fairytale vibes. The weather is cool with wind breeze. Its get little busy and crowded while my visit because its public holiday, but its still okay if you do a reservation first. I recommend to book a picnic package so you could sit in the garden and have a spacious area to eat. The upstair is location for casual eat and its more crowded. The food was good, the flowers is beautiful . Recommended to try if you go to bedugul
Ary Christine — Google review
The pros : the view of the batur lake is very pretty, the flowers and plants are 100% The con: The price is too expensive, the food isn't matching the price, the options are very limited. I needed to approach the waitress many times because they couldn't hear me. There's minimum spend here. The place is pretty but needs maintenance. They couldn't decide which target market they want to attract, once you step on this place you'll know that. The picnic concept isn't matching with the full meals package. It's hard to sit and it's uncomfortable eating with that small table. Sorry but I prefer to go somewhere else.
Bitha P — Google review
What a gorgeous restaurant! You can have a “picnic” here (sit on a picnic blanket on artificial grass) or opt for the regular table at the second floor. The food is surprisingly good, albeit a little on the expensive side. But the view is fantastic and I love that they play Bridgerton playlist. It suits the place really well. I can just imagine formal dances being held here, would be so pretty!

Food was great and really of great standards!! We ordered many dishes and we were very impressed with the food. However they did not do the local food too well on the menu, chicken was also served not fully cooked but service recovery was swift. :) Desserts are not too good so not recommended to order. Service was great and staff was helpful & attentive. Atmosphere 9/10, didnt appreciate the houseflies :)

Loved the food, we had hot chocolate, some coffees, chamomile tea, vietnam salad, spring rolls and i forgot the rest 😂 Upon entering you’ll be asked to put deposit (50K per person) that later can be redeemed with your orders. The ambience reminds me of this vintage colonialism era. I just don’t fancy the corner sofa where people keep back on forth sitting and posing for pictures, it was a bit uncomfortable who sits just next to it 😂 We came in pouring rain, and all their umbrellas need some fixing for real😂😂 Would i come back? Maybe if it’s less crowded. Also it seems like they have 3 different buildings and i was only allowed to come to the yellow one.

We went here without an appointment, but we got the table & we need to pay IDR 100.000 in advance per person, and that can be exchanged with food later inside the restaurant. It's better to make a reservation first before coming here. This place is really an Instagramable photos and videos area. The place is divided into 2 places roof top and picnic area below, the top floor will be hot if the sun up with clear sky. Lucky, we were a bit cloudy and windy, so it was not hot at all. The foods are is all good and delicious. I don't find any problem with the food. Truffles soup good portion, taste good too. Baileys tiramisu, lovely tiramisu, the baileys not too strong and coffee flavor just rite. Creamy Carbonars, not too creamy and good too. Fried rice with pork, my favorite and recommended menu. Nasi lemak is also ok. The coconut rice also smells really good Saigon Pork Ribs, good one and pork tender and juicy. Small issues few fruit flies flew around while we ate, but the waiters told us already the consequences for eating at the top floor, and we were ok. Overall, it is a good place to eat, photos, and enjoying Lake beratan view with mountains.
Erik Suwandy — Google review
Photogenic resto at the edge of Beratan Lake. Initially created as a wedding venue, but it's now turned into a restaurant. Girls would love it here as it resembles a French style glasshouse, so it's great for photo ops. The view towards Beratan lake from the glasshouse is also beautiful. The food itself, despite being a bit pricey, is delicious and comes in big portion. We ordered: - Tom Yam Goong - Bakmi Nona Jakarta - Wagyu Burger 🌟 For me the burger is the best, quite a huge portion —the patty is so juicy and the potato wedges are perfect. Not obligatory, but this place is worth a visit if you're in the Bedugul area, especially if you're into Instagram-worthy places.
Hans Jonathan — Google review
Aesthetically pleasing! They can picnic package for two / four down below, wanting to dine at 2nd floor but not available on that day, they said it too hot too dine up there ? Pretty weird to me since it’s Bedugul, and not that really hot though! Anyway nice picnic experience 🎉

Wow, what a magical place. So romantic and the scenery in it self is worth it. Ok food, and service. The road up there is beautiful as well, and there are wonderful sights to see nearby

Buffet restaurant
Diner
Ulundanu Beratan is a buffet restaurant with a variety of international dishes to choose from. The restaurant is decorated with traditional Bali culture and has a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Tasty food and kind staff. Don’t get scammed by the tourist traps around here. This place is as good and charges half the price of those touristic restaurants where only western tourists are taken by guides. This place is preferred by local tourists as well.
Can Huzmeli — Google review
Yesterday we had lunch there. My husband had fried chicken, after few hours he got sick with very bad symptoms. This lunch ruined our last days in Bali.
Margarita Theodoulou — Google review
A buffet style resto near Ulundanu temple. Really cozy and fancy place. But don't expect anything about the food. The taste is literally so-so just like alot other reviewers said. I'd recommend this place if you are tired and just want to have a good place to sit ans hangout after strolling arouns.
M Nurwiseso Wibisono — Google review
Our driver forced us to eat here during our tour. We were told it would take them 45 minutes to prepare dishes on the à la carte menu, so we had to go for the buffet. The buffet food was lukewarm and overpriced. I'm guessing our driver must receive some sort of commission to bring tourists there. Would not recommend.

Nice place in Ulun Danu Beratan Temple.. open buffet that serve Indonesian Cuisine with kerupuk and chilli sauce... There is special Indonesian snacks too.. we can sit inside or outside the restaurant, and there playground outside so our children can play after finish eat.. For muslim, there is musola behind open buffet

Buffet options are less, lot of flies around which come and sit on the food. Staff does not care if its on the buffet set, neither closes the lid when they find the flies. Hygine and Cleanliness is bad. only good thing is the view of lake.
Manu Krishnan — Google review
Would not recommend this place at all. The front lady was insisting to get the buffet, saying that there was a 20 min waiting (the restaurant was almost empty). She insisted so we decided to try it. Food was cold, even the dishes that supposed to be warm. Fried rice was plain and cold, so it did not taste good at all. Chicken was not chicken, I believe it was hen since it was harder and it had a stronger taste. They have vegetarian options as well, just in general the food was not good. Note: the server said that all the many was gluten free but it was not true.

Went to Ulun Danu Beratan Restaurant while checking out the temple. The location is awesome but the food? It's decent at best. Tried their omelette, edible flowers, and spring rolls. They were okay, but nothing to write home about. They offer a buffet option if you're not into ordering a la carte. I gave it a shot, and it was fine but not exceptional. If you're here for the view and just want to grab something quick, it's not a bad choice. But if you're a foodie looking for quality eats, you might want to look elsewhere. All in all, it's more of a convenience spot than a must-visit for food.
Gaston Pumar — Google review
If you like to eat a lot to food that is overpriced, then this place is fine. Otherwise, I don’t recommend this place. 120 000:- for a quite boring buffet.
Emma B — Google review
This deserves 0 stars, not even the 1. By far the worst dining experience in Bali. Service is non existent. Plenty of staff, but not a single one who cares. We ordered off the menu and waited over 40 minutes for the first item to arrive, each item came out separately with 10 minutes between. I ordered vegetables and rice. The vegetables came and the rice never came. After waiting 15 minutes I asked if it’s coming, the staff said yes then I waited another 10 minutes and all the others I was with had finished eating and I hadn’t even started eating and my vegetables were cold so I had to cancel the rice and they still made me pay for the uneaten vegetables. Very very poor. This temple is a tourist trap, including the restaurant here.

I just went here, tried to dine in for lunch for 7 people. They told us to wait 1 hour for our order to come out, since they have a full table on the other side of the restaurant so we had to leave. However, when I checked - there were no one! I talked to the other waitress, they had 1 more table besides us to SERVE. We were so confused, how could the wait time be so long when they had to serve 2 tables and mind you : they provided more than 50 tables! Then what if they are full booked? Do they have to wait 25 hours? It's a bit ironic.. when covid happened, Balinese was suffering because there were no tourists and now they do have us, they rejected us. Hopefully this won't happen to more people.

The place is super! The lake, the hills so beautiful, now is rain season so it's cold now. But sorry the food it's not that good (I have no idea the other meal) we ordered Duck and I can still smell the Ducky Duck. Overall, it's worth to drive 2hours from where we live.

De Danau Lake View Restaurant is a spacious glass-fronted building located across from the temple, offering stunning views of the lake. The menu caters to local tour groups and while slightly pricey for local cuisine, the portions are generous and ideal for sharing with a group. Visitors praise the delicious food and drinks, including Nasi Goreng, Mie Goreng, fish n chips, and fresh orange juice. The restaurant is known for its friendly staff and clean facilities.
The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. Special Nasi Goreng and Mie Goreng were perfect, as were the fish n chips. Can also recommend the fresh orange juice. The view of the mountains, lake and surrounds is really good. Perfect place for a meal when visiting the famous temple.

Thanks God we finally found this place We eat well there.l, for resonable price. We were rounding around and couldn't find a normal CLEAN place. I felt sick from the restaurants around. We came inside to check, so dirty and smelly. This place was absolutely opposite, I saw it from the first impression when I came in. Toilet were also clean, which I very appreciate. Absolutely recommend if you wanna eat well and be sure you will not get sick.

Fresh and tasty food with an amazing view! Way better and authentic that in many cosy warungs where additionally nobody cares about hygiene. We had drinks with ice cubes and fresh milk feeling great for the rest of the day. Fish was the best pick in whole BALI.

The Strawberry Stop is a delightful establishment with a fantastic atmosphere. The strawberry juice is incredibly tasty, and the toast with Jam is simply amazing. All of the food has a fresh and vibrant flavor. The prices are also very reasonable, and the staff is exceptionally kind. Additionally, there is a stunning garden where one can observe various plants growing, including the strawberries themselves. However, it's unfortunate that some animals are housed in small cages.
What a lovely strawberry nursery and cafe. I had a strawberry pancake and milkshake. Both delicious and made with fresh strawberries. The owner was very kind and showed me around his farm. I will definitely stop here again if I stay in Bedugul. See you soon!

It was supposed to be just a random stop to have some strawberries and it turned out to be a botanical wonderland! Still can't get over it. See the photos and videos to get a sense of the amazing plants. The food was also quite nice. Try the various strawberry dishes. Very reasonably priced. Wasn't brave enough to try the strawberry fried rice 🙄 😀 Plenty of veg options and kid friendly too. Don't miss seeing the rabbits, turkey and dogs. Would definitely be top of my list next time I visit north bali.

Gunawan Ngh — Google review
The restaurant was very attractive considering the good reviews on Google. We arrived and waited during 10 mn before a waitress take care about us. We ordered some strawberry juices, strawberry rice and the famous strawberry pancakes. We waited around 30 mn to have only our juices, one hour for the rice and more than 1h15 for the strawberry pancakes! It was so long. The restaurant was not full at all and nobody from the staff was sorry that we waited so long! The food is good but not amazing. After 1 hour waiting, I decided to go around and visit the garden. As an animal lover, I was in shock there. If the garden is really beautiful, these people doesn’t respect animals. They are in small cages and some of them are in a bad conditions. Rabbits, there, break my heart: they couldn’t move in their individual cage, full of holes, some of them seem to become crazy and others ones are injured or have atrophied members. Please, if you love animals, don’t go there, there is plenty of nice places to eat in the area. I hope the owners will do something for these poor rabbits that I am sure they suffer a lot 🖤.

Large selection of strawberry dishes and a very beautiful private garden

Not recommended: - strawberry juice (too much water) - fried chicken (small random piece of chicken, a bowl of plain rice) Recommended: - strawberry milkshake - strawberry pancakes with honey Cash only. Many flies if you seat by the main road. Go further inside, there is a beautiful garden

Lovely place for a strawberry snack stop. The restaurant offers pancakes, ice cream with strawberries, strawberry cocktails and milkshakes, and more. Needless to say, strawberries are fresh from the garden on on the grounds. There's a beautiful garden, some birds, bunnies, and strawberry fields.
