One of the best steaks I have eaten in a long while! Could definitely recommend going there. Steer clear of the wine though, I did not like it. On the contrary, I did enjoy the atmosphere. The tables were nice and the restaurant had a cool interior.

I never leave reviews, but the experience was so bad here, that I had to do it. I went today with my mother for lunch, just 3 tables were occupied and there was enough staff, however they didn’t take the full order, kinda weird to bring only one dish, we’ve ordered a cesar salad and Broodje carpaccio… the salad came without ANY dressing, I had to ask for dressing and the waitress said ‘this is extra’ I told her that the salad had no dressing at all and she just said ‘oh the chef forgot’. The broodje carpaccio was tasteless, the one from the place in the corner (barista) is 829292 times better. As this wasn’t enough, nobody came after to ask if we wanted more drinks or to check if everything was fine, to apologize after not taking the whole order to make it good… we waited for half hour and I had just to stand up to pay… I told the person in charge before leaving that everything went wrong, I would have expected some kind of compensation or at least explanation, but nothing happened… I wouldn’t recommend this place at all, never coming back

Good food, good service, and location is pleasant. It's spacious and cozy at the same time. Staff is very attentive and quick. Prices are very decent. You can park at the mall which is very close, first 90 minutes free parking.

Best steak I’ve had in the Netherlands so far. Ordered the tomahawk steak and it was cooked to perfection. The sides were a bit of a let down. The fries were cold and unseasoned. The coleslaw was just ok and the chimmichuri could have also used some seasoning as well. The steak tartare was also a good starter. Service was good and also it was my first time having a good aperol spritz in the Netherlands. Will definitely come back!

Found this place when looking for where my mom had grown up in Alphen aan de Rijn. The ladies working here were very friendly and helpful. This was the ONLY place on our vacation that I was able to get a mixed drink... and it was quite tasty. Lunch here was delicious.

Maggie Blue has a fantastic location, right in the renewed city centre of Alphen aan den Rijn. I really loved the interior of the place. The food is delicious. I ordered the Maggie Steak and it was one of the best steak I have ever eaten. I cannot give it five stars though, as they don't have a lot of choice in my opinion. In short, I can recommend this beautifully located restaurant to everyone who loves a great steak.

Proto has always been up go snuff, but since the - rather tragic - fire incident, they’ve upped their game and promised me an ‘Experience Menu’. Needless to say what we chose.
