The Welcome Home Inn is a local favourite in Par, known for its delicious Sunday roasts and healthy sized portions. It's a treat for all the family, with excellent ales and good home cooked food that is plentiful, as ordered. The atmosphere ispleasant and courteous staff make it an ideal place to enjoy a drink or meal.
My last experience was so fantastic at this most delightful establishment. My local friend & myself returned. Excellent Ales & good home cooked food that was plentiful, as I ordered a large beef. And my local friend enjoyed the vegetarian option. And what a pleasant garden. Had it not been so windy I'd have eaten outside. Absolutely awesome atmosphere & courteous staff. I'm sure to return when I visit Cornwall again.

I recently dined at this charming restaurant The ambiance was inviting, with soft lighting and tasteful decor. The menu offered a diverse selection of dishes, and I opted for the chef's special, a delightful fusion of flavors that left my taste buds pleasantly surprised. The service was attentive, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Overall, Savor Delights is a hidden gem, perfect for those seeking a culinary adventure in a welcoming atmosphere.

Staff were brilliant, can't fault them at all. We all had different roasts for Mother's Day, the turkey had a strange texture, but everything tasted good. Plenty of veg selection, 7 veg with the meal! Mashed parsnips had a strange taste, Iike there was mustard in there, but when asked, the staff simply said it was parsnip. Could've done with a couple of extra roast potatoes, but I get that every thing is so tight these days. Great dessert choices. The prices reflect the current market, and are pretty reasonable.

Book in advance for Sunday lunch IT'S WORTH IT. They just do roast dinners of a sunday but by god its worth it. Portion sizes are small, standard and large. We had a mix of all three. My 6 year old had a small, my 12 year old a standard and me and the wife large with turkey/beef mix. I could have ordered both the kids a standard between them and me and the wife a standard each. Portion size is phenomenal the large is 3 or 4 slices of turkey and easily the same or more beef. But that's not all, the meat is EXCELLENT. Not an ounce of fat on the beef. I regret not getting the pork NOW just to try it. There is LOADS of veg. Standard has it all on the plate. Large comes with and extra side plate on top of the cauliflower cheese and parsnips already loaded. Staff are lovely too. Waiting time isn't too long either. I Shan't say anything about price other the VERY competitive. BOOK AHEAD we saw people turned away on the day. Photos show small and standard.

Had Sunday roast here today. Superb food, cooked lovely and piping hot too. Really generous portion size and the price was incredible. Staff friendly, just like pubs used to be and should be. Good selection of drinks.Thanks.

A very nice and friendly pub. Pleasant staff. Great beer. Serves food. We didn't try any, but the meals looked good. I would advise to book a table prior to your visit, as it does get busy. Friday is steak night by all accounts. There is a big spacious beer garden with plenty of tables and a children's play area.

Absolutely amazing 👏 a friendly welcome, open fire, great beer and atmosphere 🙌 food was all fresh and tasted amazing, the chilli con carni is amazing & the steak out of this world - so glad we stumbled across this place - ❤️Thank you So Much ❤️

Second time we've been here in last couple of years. Both times we just walked in. Most of the tables were reserved. On both occasions they fitted us in. This pub is a busy local which has a lovely feel. The staff are very happy and there appears to be a family atmosphere there amongst staff. The food is great. Excellent value. Big big portions. We had a burger, chilli, pint of Rattler and pint of Tribute and a big bag of onion rings. £26! Great value.

Didn't eat but food looked good. Very pleasant staff. An amazing beer garden at the back, secluded, kids area, sun or shelter. Couple of tables out front. A very nice find.

A week getaway in Cornwall and we came across this dog friendly place. No faults. Service was friendly, food was brilliant (bacon cooked to perfection), big portions for what you pay. Definitely recommend if your passing through. Also beer garden is a must when the sun is shining :)

Went for a birthday meal tonight for my daughter, everything from start to finish was excellent, the atmosphere and staff were great, the food ...large portions and really tasty, even though we had to order from the bar they were right there , no waiting. My daught has food intolerances and they catered for her she was so happy. We'll definitely be going back

Lovely local pub. Popped in for dinner during a recent trip. Good portion size and well cooked. Staff member was friendly and would return if in the area.

Called in last minute for food, Despite being busy they booked us in (family of 5 and a Dog), fantastic staff, large food potions , dog friendly, decent priced as well. Well worth a visit.

What a warm Welcome at the Welcome Home Inn. Friendly staff we had the Sunday roast. Massive portions! Served on a hot plate which kept the hot food hot! Very nice. We had the Hot Chocolate Fudge cake with ice cream. I would definitely recommend & return when we are next in the area. Try the Welcome Home Inn, you'll be glad you did! Keep up the good work Sue, Ken & all the staff

Always come here for the best Sunday roast in Cornwall, loads of super veggies, all really tasty and cooked well. Large portion size for the regular roast - go for a "large" only if you're feeling brave!

A Traditional Cornish Pub. Plenty of local people having a good time. My first ever visit and I just love these types of Public House. To be honest I didn't eat here, but the menu looked good and was reasonably priced.

A wonderful, traditional local pub. I met my daughter there for an ‘after running club meet up’ where they were offering super to share. The food was absolutely amazing, a delicious choice of home-cooked dishes made by the bar man I think. It really was great. Lovely people.

Sams On The Beach is an airy bistro and fish specialist that overlooks Polkerris Beach in an old lifeboat station. It serves some of the best pizza on the island, with a choice of seafood or goats cheese variations. If the weather is bad and you just can't bear to be cooped up inside, head down to the beach for some fresh air and sea views.
We stumbled across this place having never heard of it before. During Covid19, most places were fully booked or closed or the massive crowds were a put off. Pros; 1. It is literally located on the beach, if you are dining outdoors, prepare to be standing on the sand. 2. Great views. Watch people have fun on the beach or join in. 3. Fantastic food! We went there twice. 4. Really friendly staff. Cons. 1. Parking can be a bit iffy (we got lucky) but be prepared to walk a good 100m to the parking lot. 2. It is a little pricey. I'm comparing it to London, but the food there is fresh. Overall We went there twice and would definitely go again.

A delicious meal after our 5 mile walk along the coastal path. Great service, tasty cocktails and wonderful food. Our group of 7 had every seafood option on the menu and we were very satisfied. Highly recommended.

Absolutely perfect seafood meal with the most beautiful seaview for my birthday 🌊🦀🐟🐚🐟 Would highly recommend this place... amazing customer service, our Waitress Sam's Wife (lovely Carribbean lady) was so lovely with us and the kiddies ....they were all so polite and friendly, there was a little bit of a wait but we were informed about this beforehand, the children all had fun on the beach so they were quite happy to wait and we had a drink whilst we waited...the food was divine...hubby and kids enjoyed a stone baked pizza 🍕 I had the seafood linguine 😋 hubby and kiddies has a little try of my mussels and all loved them as did I! The portion was very generous and every mouthful was delicious....🙌 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great setting- right as the name suggests- on the beach. A very good selection of menu items including various vegan and vegetarian options. Drinks and food both got made and delivered to us in very good time, by excellent, friendly wait staff who were more than happy to give us menu recommendations and do their best to answer our questions about the surrounding area. Bathroom facilities was one large unisex, accessible toilet which was nice and clean. Overall, loved the restaurant and the location, would happily go back again.

Fantastic location. Great focaccia. Nice salad leaves. Pretty presentation of food. Food is a big let down - it lacks flavour. Sardines not fresh so we left them - and we weren’t asked about our meal. Pizzas lacked flavour. Disappointingly limited menu, the starters appear on the main courses.

I took my wife here today for a special treat. The first time we've been here for ages, nice to see that the place hasn't changed too much! Still a warm friendly atmosphere and fantastic food. We both had the surf and turf, cooked to perfection. One of the best steaks I've ever had! Nothing seemed to much trouble for the staff who remained polite and friendly. Well worth a visit by locals and holiday makers alike. In a nutshell, Great food, great service, great views! 👍

We came in after a considerable absence, being local, ordered sardines mussels, followed by a special plaice pictured and a surf and turf , the starters came albeit deep fried sardines which was audible as the only other tables were eating, mussels were over cooked without flavour no cream , the bread delivered to accompany it was end of cut yesterdays at best stale bread, the waitress appeared “ alright guys , great “ walked away, my partner raised her hand and it was the chef who sent the waitress back to collect the offering of bread , asked for a replacement warmed bread it reappeared after the starters were consumed , the starters were cleared and immediately replaced with our main courses , “ special’ whole plaice crammed on a small plate with undressed salad and fries a slight lemon wedge , no plate for bones and no finesse, the surf and turf , asked for medium rare and got medium to medium well with reheated frozen shell on prawns again with undressed salad leaves and fries dumped on the plate , what’s happened ``”Sam” , usually a receptacle of fries dressed leaves would appear, the whole fish also normally would look great, deep fried sardines, come on ? And cream less mussels ! I ask you what’s gone wrong , had we not been hungry we would probably have returned the lot 5. , staff no level of customer service apart from the long haired gentleman , no check backs just a level of assumption , aptly stated by your waitress “ alright guys, great enjoy”? Without eye to eye contact , what was once a special place , is not too us anymore , will try the Rashleigh Arms next time, they seemed to be busy with a more professional approach

Very delicious food, had muscles for the first time that I enjoyed very much. Mum had the seafood platter and I had the Cornish 4 cheese pizza while being accommodated for my sister's picky eating for having paffitatrolls while we have our main coming over asking how the meal is. The staff are very helpful as we had a table outside to begin with however a party cancelled so we were asked if we wanted to come in, got a table with a lovely view of the beach Only downside can't be helped at all since it is an open space, doors open so expect insects if you are outside or near the door. Overall a very positive experience at Sam's on the beach !!
Tyler Hounslow — Google review
I visited Sam’s on the beach after walking part of the South West Coastal Path (from Fowey) and was tired and hungry when I finally arrived at Polkerris. The staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful, the food was really good and the atmosphere very agreeable. The view was great, despite the grey day - I’m sure that on a sunny day the view would be even lovelier with the sun glinting on the surface of the sea; as such it was a mix of greyness and wetness that, nevertheless, didn’t put me off. The only reason I give 4 stars it’s because I felt it was a bit pricey. The food was really good and tasty, and the portion was more than enough, but I paid a little more than 20£ for only the main dish, no drinks or deserts. Guess the location also plays a role and in fact I don’t do this every day, so would definitely repeat and recommend

We did like it! The view was amazing, and food was really good!!! We had pizza - delicious wood fired, pasta with seafood, and salmon pate for starter. Was quite busy inside - we sat outside by the sea. Enjoyed everything.

Been here several times and it never disappoints 🤗. Service was excellent. Order taken promptly and food was fairly quick to arrive. Sea bass was very fresh and roast belly pork was lovely. Huge portions too! Definitely recommend.
Gary Ho — Google review
Truly excellent fish restaurant, they also do meat and pizzas but our reason for visiting was fish and we weren't disappointed. The starters were fish soup (which was very tasty), soft shell crab (which got an ok) and sardines (which were plentiful and excellent). For mains there were mussels (described as very succulent and tasty), more sardines and in my case the sardines provencal which was magnificent. The restaurant has great views across the bay as it fronts onto the beach. On the downside the parking is up the hill and gets very busy in the summer and it wasn't a cheap meal but we felt worth it. Service was efficient if a little distant. Will happily revisit. Visited again and the food was once again excellent. Dishes not reviewed last time were the delicious home made smoked mackerel pate; the scallop starter which I am told by my American visitor was as good as she's ever had; a brilliant pizza off the specials board with scallops, black pudding, anchovies and asparagus. Finally the seafood linguine was awesome and rather large. Will definitely return

The hotel is also dog friendly and offers comfortable rooms with all the amenities you need.
Staff are lovely friendly and helpful. The food is 5star good price. They are dog friendly and no problems with me not wearing a mask or a badge saying to don't need one. 100% will go again

We had a really good stay here. Kim on Reception was so helpful and ensured we were comfy in our room and was generally very helpful. The breakfast was really tasty and made with high-quality local produce. I would say one of the best we have had. We would definitely return and will be recommending you. Thank you.

We've been coming here for a few months now for our social club, and a service and food are exemplary. The staff always very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I'll definitely recommend this venue to anyone who would like to have a good meal out and good service.

Waves restaurant serves consistently excellent food. Varied menu. There is a sports bar (I think this means that the TV is on), a snug with tables and a modern restaurant. Outdoor dining is available too. The restaurant extension is very smart. The location is by a busy road, so this is not a place with a view. However, still a great place to eat.

Best kid friendly pub in Cornwall. We went to the restaurant the food is great. Much bigger and better quality than we expected. The price is what I would expect to pay. The facilities for kids outside are great. We think there is a pub menu for a different eating area on the other side of the pub

Beautiful little hotel with great restaurant(food was superb) and lovely pub. Perfectly located place if you consider it for venture point to explore Cornwall (Which we did). All members of staff we've meet been extremely polite and helpful. Family hotel room was clean and spacious. Bit of noise could be heard from the pub, which is located below hotel rooms, but we've been politely warned about that, and generally it wasn't a problem. Hotel has a big car park which was advantage as place was crowded over the weekend by hotel guest, pub clients and locals, and we were worried finding car park space may be an issue, but wasn't at all. We had stress free stay. Without any doubts we would like to come back there again.

What a great meal had lasagne came with a big salad, chips, coleslaw and garlic bread. My partner had steak and said it was delicious. Sticky toffee pudding was so light and lovely sauce. Definitely worth a visit but advise to book if go in the week.

Delicious food with a great choice of menu options to suit all tastes with additional specials. You can choose between traditional pub food right through to special occasion dining. Really chilled atmosphere in the restaurant with friendly attentive staff. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and will definitely be back!

My husband and I were staying in the area early part of May 2023. We dined a few times at The Britannia Inn. The decor was tasteful and very clean, the food excellent, the staff could not be more helpful especially McCoy who went out of his way to help us when we were unable to give a precise time when booking for the restaurant. Also Sarah C was most helpful. Highly recommend.

Recently attended a christening reception here and the staff bent over backwards to accommodate our needs. The pub and restaurant were spotlessly clean and the gents toilets were of a good clean standard(can't comment on the women's!). Food was very good with vegan and gluten free options available.
gary sibley — Google review
It was a really good experience for me. They had the best food you can have at a hotel! Especially dinner- order the lasagna, you will not regret it. They have this one large space where it has tables outside and you and your family/friends can sit and eat or talk or just chill. At night, they have cozy lighting lined up the fences outside so it’s not completely dark and you can still enjoy it. They have a 5 years old and under play area for your little kids to play in. Then they have a slightly older section in which they have a bouncy castle and some swings. I swear to god if you get on the swings at night at a cold but not too cold temperature (so maybe 16°C) it’s so dreamy. The rooms aren’t my favorite as I prefer more modern spaces but for those who don’t really have such an opinion or don’t care what room as long it’s good 😂, it’s pretty comfortable. I recommend. Bathroom is a little small but you can still get everything done. I had to kill quite a few spiders or just swat them out to the window in my room- I think they’re getting in through the AC .

Last minute walk in, given one of few table left, good to find a place open this early in week out of season. Service was friendly and top notch. Menu with lots of choice. Food arrived in good time, hot and full of flavour. Really enjoyable evening. Outside lots of tables in beer garden, plenty of parking. Recommend a visit.

Not used the hotel but have had food at the pub part. Overall pretty good pub. Food is of a good quality and portion sizes are decent. Nice play area and bouncy castle for kids. It is very pricey which is a shame and I think prices have been increased recently. Outdoors area is nice, lots of seating although every single time we have been there is a very mean looking pit bull dog which looks like it's seconds away from ripping a child to shreds.
David Edwards — Google review
Went to this pub for my birthday lunch it was lovely. My husband and I got married very simply and wanted somewhere for a few of us to go afterwards. The britannia were brilliant and gave us the lounge room and dressed it up for no more than the price of the food. Food itself is delicious and good choice of drinks. Good sized car park but often busy so booking is advised.
Beccieb86 — Google review
I've eaten at the Waves Restaurant quite a few times, the most recent visit being yesterday evening. Our food was exceptional so thought I'd leave a review. I recommend the prawn cocktail and grilled goats cheese starters (so good), the pork belly main and cheese cake desert for a winner. They have GF bread on request and a number of vegetarian and vegan options. I found their pizza and lasagne mains a bit too cheese heavy and I'd be happy to see more dishes like the pork. Overall it's a nice menu and their service is great. They might even have a new chef as last night seemed even better. They have outdoor seating and an outdoor kids play area.
j h — Google review
As a Lounge Bar food customer, I can't comment on the quality of the rooms which may well be 4 Star, but the food is your bog standard Pub Grub fayre, but at 4 Star Hotel prices....! I remember when this place was honest value for money but having eaten here a couple of days ago and handed over a whopping £56 for lunch and a soft drink for two people it simply was not worth it. I also noticed from the menu they now charge £16 for their Sunday Carvery. At this price, I sincerely hope it's a lot better than it used to be.

Went their to celebrate a birthday with some friends and though they had a wedding and the fa cup final on they dealt with it very well and well organised. Beer garden is great if u have kids as they have a small park for under fives and bouncy castle for slightly older children

Prior to going on holiday, we checked out the Britannia Inn amongst a number of local pubs and on the positive reviews we booked a meal. The food and service were excellent, so good we booked a number of further dining reservations. We have not been disappointed on any occasion. The inn is also dog friendly. A great place to dine.

The hotel was lovely, as were the staff. Our room was a good size and the bar and restaurant in the hotel had good food options. Was there for a conference so didn't get a chance to explore the local area, but it is 10 minutes from the Eden Project.

Last minute night away, well located, plenty of parking. Check in easy and very professional, shown up to room and offer carrying bags - not had that for a few years. It's those little things which make a difference 😎 Drank in the bar, ate in Waves, food very good, all the staff seemed happy, attentive and professional. Overall, a lovely night away, decent beer, good food and attentive and efficient service. 🌟🌟🌟

Room was lovely , very spacious & exceptionally clean. Loved the stone walls & the shower was amazing, everything was spotless. Evening meal was top class & breakfast lovely. Would definitely stay again.

Breakfast was superb - Good quality sausages and very accommodating The room was very comfortable and big - Air con, good TV, lovely shower. The room was clean and the staff were welcoming

Recently had a baby shower everything was lovely. However the cost was extortionate and sadly won't be using there facility for functions anytime soon. I asked for a black plastic bag and they said there would be a charge of £5 for one bag to enable us to help clear up. DISQUSTING especially when I'd paid £100 for the room and £350 for the buffet already. The drinks at thee bar already cost a fortune so sadly even though the service was very good and nothing was too much trouble and food was fine, it won't be a venue I would chose again to hold a function. Pity because I have 5 children and 11 grandchildren so always having some sort of celebrations.
