Restaurant
The Souza Bar and Restaurant is a popular bar in the Praia do Forte area that serves traditional Bahian fish balls (siri mole) as well as other dishes. I particularly enjoy the milanesa soup with a cold beer (called "veu de noiva" here).
Amazing place, do not miss this spot! The lobster moqueca is from another planet so good! Live music at night, super clean bathrooms (and with air conditioning) and the staff is very friendly. We will come back for sure!

Best moqueca I have eaten. Also the deep-fried fish was great. Only downside is that it takes some time before you get all the deliciousness.

Restaurant
Sabor da Villa is a restaurant in the suburb of Zequinha, Bahia, Brazil that specializes in home-style Brazilian food. The kitchen is known for its inventive spices and a very reasonable price. Some of the most popular dishes are the polvo na brasa (a charcoal-grilled fish dish) and the beans with chorizo. Alcohol is available for purchase, and free wifi is available throughout the restaurant.
We went there on account of a recommendation and it couldn’t have been more true: the food was amazing, simply a sensory explosion with every bite. There are so many different flavours and layers to each dish that it’s impossible to pick a favourite because all the dishes we had were extraordinary! For starters, we had the fish balls, the shrimp in olive oil (absolute must, so definitely order because this will be the best olive oil sauce that you have ever tasted) and the crab in a shell. As a main dish we shared the seafood plater - it was an absolute delight! If you’re looking for a please with attentive service and an extraordinary culinary, you should absolutely go there!

A quite expensive place where the food can be a hit or a kind-of-miss. ⭐ Everything is very clean and the atmosphere is pleasant. ⭐ Staff was nice and polite. ⭐ We can recommend the carne do sol. It was very delicious. Definitely able to order it for more than 2 people. ⭐ The Swiss lemonade was perfect (for me) as I like the lemonade especially sour. However we had to wait a really long time to pay our bill because our server was quite busy. We initially wanted to eat the red fish, but we would've waited an hour before it would've been ready. That's why we are carne do sol instead.

Tourist place, the food looks good, it's ok and is kind of bland
Arie B — Google review
Recommended by the locals. Attention to detail. Broccoli cooked to perfection. Very pricey but worth the splurge if you have time to savor the selection. N.b. 18% service included so don't tip.

we ate some fish with vegetables and a special rice and a fruity sauce with maracuja and pineapple, was really interesting but amazing. location and service was excellent.

I came here with high expectations after seeing the reviews and checking the high prices. First: be ready for a long food wait. We were only 3 tables at the restaurant and yet we waited 45 minutes until the order arrived. As for the food itself, nothing too impressive. I got the grilled Badejo fillet that comes with two sides. One of the sides was a green salad. The fish had a good flavor, but it was very home made style. The salad had no intention whatsoever. Just some veggies together, no vinaigrette, no special arrangement. The place itself is nicely decorated with table cloths and a beautiful view of the boulevard. The music was pleasant, not too loud and fitting a varied set of tastes. But my final perception is that they take advantage of the prime location but their food or service does not reflect the 4.6 rating that it currently has. It’s an ok restaurant located in a prime spot. You pay for the location, not for the culinary experience. Abort your operation now and go to “Il Cantuccio” Restaurant instead, just one minute walking from there. Read my review about it. Have to give them points for taking into consideration my food sensitivities. My waiter was very kind.

Nice place, but didn't enjoy i ordered Bruschetta and bolognese was completely different London Italy, they need to do more research and learn bolognese was like meat curry and pasta inside taste was ok but not amazing. Overall nice wine & atmosphere.

A great restaurant. The moqueca was to die for. Our server was funny and personable. Bonus: I noticed them sanitizing their hands before touching plates. Great for our dark times.

Pizza restaurant
This pizzeria is a great place for delicious pizza. The prices are reasonable, and the pizza dough is really tasty and fresh. The service can be a bit slow, but that doesn't even bother most of the customers. Some of our favourites were the Calabresa pizza with crispy bacon and the Prawn pizza with catupity sauce. Overall, this pizzeria is definitely worth checking out!
Some of the best pizza I've ever had. And I eat a lot of pizza.
Jim Quick — Google review
7 disappointments: vegan pizza is bad (mince without spices as a topping, any takers?), service is occasionally okay and occasionally plain weird (and potentially high?), extremely expensive, no beer on tap. On the upside, location is central and good for people watching.
Margarita Levitova — Google review
Good venue for a tasty pizza. Prices are reasonable and the pizza dough is really tasty and fresh. Service was friendly but not the quickest. Our favourite pizzas were Calabresa, Frango com catupity and Prawn with catupity.

Phenomenal pizza, service, and vibe. They deliver quality on a variety of topping/flavor options. Great location in the heart of the vilinha. Was and will be one of my first stops every time I’m in this part of Bahia.
Clayton lovett — Google review
Pizzas were good, pretty expensive given where they were. There were no cold beers the night we went, apparently the fridge had broken in the back so you could only order cocktails or anything that had ice in it. The guy who served us was absolutely useless. He was asked to change a few things on each pizza for dietary requirements and then came back without literally anything changed. He couldn't have cared less.
Conor O'Connell — Google review
Amazing tops and very unusual, tasteful brazilian ingredients.
Andre L L Dantas — Google review
Bad service, bad pizza! I am very disappointed with the waiter's service and the pizza! I specifically asked for a pizza chicken with catupiry, how is Brazilian will know catupiry only has in Brazil, the pizza came without the MAIN ingredient when I asked the waiter to add the catupiry he starts to avoid me, I really need to insist, my mistake was staying next time I will leave and just pay the drinks because after a long time the chef adds the catupiry on the top, the pizza literally looks like sheet and the waiter had the audacity of laugh at my boyfriend's face because he doesn´t speak Portuguese, I´m very disappointed with this place and I definitely WON´T recommend the restaurant!
Gleide Coelho — Google review
After reading so many good reviews, we were disappointed to find the pizza here wasn’t great. Everything was soggy and over-laden with ingredients, stodgy cheese and the tomato sauce didn’t have the astringency that makes a good pizza base. Also, pretty expensive at around 80BRL for a medium pizza. If you like good Italian-style pizza, steer clear.

Restaurant
The Restaurante Donana branch in the Salvador beach town of Praia do Forte offers high quality service and delicious dishes made with the finest ingredients. It's a popular choice for those looking for top-notch Bahian cuisine. The camarao ensopado (seafood stew) is a standout dish, as is the variety of moquecas (baked empanadas). There is also table service available, and the restaurant accepts credit cards.
The prices seem a bit high but the portions are fairly large and the food is tasty. The bathroom is clean and they have AC inside. The waiters are too "aggressive" though, if they see your plate empty for 3 second they come to take it away.
Antonio Arnaldo Carneiro — Google review
Ordered a fried fish that took an hour and 15 minutes to prepare. Unfortunately the fish was dry and tough with freezer burn, probably because it was frozen for months. My advice is to get a moqueca because the strong sauce flavors will mask the stale seafood that they use.

Definitely a must to do when in the area, great shrimp and octopus dish!

Johnny “Johnny's good life tips” Even — Google review
The food was so-so, the meats (we took Picanha) were overcooked and hard. The service was extremely slow - till the food arrived it felt as if we were there for hours... although the kids plates came out fast

We had the bolinho do bacalhau (cod balls) & the Bobo do Camaráo... it's made with cassava flour (aipim), shrimps. The service was wondeful and they had a great vibe. And the took the time to go over the dishes with us in english....ask for Junior. He's a real cool guy.

Airport, tourist spots usually don’t expect clients to return often or never… Praia do Forte have the same issues therefore not always within your expectations… here many items on menu where not available and not as tasty as expected, also waiting for your order took more than half an hour…now the restaurant at downtown is much better and I recommended unless your time is your priority.

Excelent service. Excelent food. We ordered breaded squid rings as a starter, which was excellent. It comes with a delicious sweet and sour tomato sauce. Be aware that this starter is very well served and can easily feed 3 persons. For the main course, we ordered octopus risoto. It was very good though not the best one I've ever had. Overall, we spent 240 reais for the two of us. Fairly priced.

Great food, lovely staff. Located near the harbour und Tamar, good plave to have a look at the street life in front of it. Good prices, check out the Moqueca, it is fabulous!

The Casa de Farinha is a local landmark that combines gastronomic with entertainment. It is frequented by families from the locality, who enjoy tapiocas made with old-fashioned ingredients. The food here is of high quality and well worth trying - perfect if you want to enjoy a good tapioca whilst taking in a cultural show at the same time.
