The National Park Duinen van Texel is an island park that offers visitors the chance to explore sand dunes, beaches, and woods through biking or hiking paths and guided tours. The landscape is diverse, featuring salt fens, heath, grass-covered dunes, and endemic plant species such as the marsh orchid and sea buckthorn. Much of the area is a bird sanctuary that can only be accessed on foot.
Charming natural place where the nature, animals and people live together in a perfect union. Everything is slow and fluid, and you can fell the freedom and the sense of peace everywhere in this little island. Definitely I’ll return.
Eva Dunkan — Google review
The dunes are great for the kids running up and down them, playing in the sand. The beach was MASSIVE! The sea goes out so far that there is an abundance of space so no crowding issue. The car park is far away, which means that if you’re driving around the island you have a 25-30 minute walk through sand to get to the actual beach part. This is offset by the surrounding being very beautiful, loads of wildlife to look at and scenery to stare at. The wind was pretty high almost the entire time we were on the island, which is to be expected on that side of the island as it’s all open to the North Sea from there. There were several people flying big kites too, so if that’s your thing it’s a great place for that.
Andrew Brown — Google review
Amazing location! Take your time here. Go for a long hike and explore the back land and the beach. The views are amazing. Just bring proper gear as it can be really windy and there are some thorny bushes along the way. But this is the place to go when on Texel. There is a camping area right at the back of the dunes. This is the best place to stay!
Ruth Gutenberg — Google review
Very beautiful place to stay closer to nature. There are walking paths through the dunes and those will take you to different landscapes. The wind here can be so strong and as a result it will be so cold. You don't see big trees here although it is a national park, mostly small bushes and sand dunes. But the views are amazing. Ideal for an evening walk.
Ishanka Hasaranga — Google review
Nature. quiet calm place. you ride on the plates on a bicycle and there are few people. Pheasants are screaming and rabbits are running around. Ideal for cycling. In some places you can go down to the sea.
Алексей Никитин — Google review
The nationals park duinen van Texel is an amazing place to enjoy the nature and explore the outsides. You can rent a bike or simply walk; there are a lot of bike pads around, if you wasn’t to walk along the dunes, you park the bike and go. Specially recommended for families.
Flavio Pimentel — Google review
One Word WOW! I had never heard of this area before until a local took me there. I swear we walked down this beach for hours without seeing anyone. It was almost aerie how big it was and how few people we saw. You could look in three directions and only see sand and beach. I highly recommend this beach to anyone in the area. Simply amazing.
Rob H — Google review
A wonderful experience for those who want to enjoy nature. Yes its a flat island, but its a 1:30hs ride to the north of Texel and the same to come back. So think it wisely if you want to see the light house in the north. There also buses which stop in the turisty places. Is a good choice for those who dont enjoy bike riding that much... And want to preserve their butt chicks. During mating season, same parts can only be accessed with a tour guide.

Beach pavillion
Restaurant
Beach Pavillion Kaap Noord is located near the northernmost point of Texel, offering a stunning view of the neighboring island Vlieland. The beach here is tranquil, providing an opportunity to spot seals if you're lucky. The outdoor terrace features spacious benches with large cushions and colorful beach huts nearby. Known as the best pavilion on the island, it's recommended for lunch, such as their juttersplankje paired with a glass of white wine.
We went here twice and were both times happy with our visit. First night we had to wait for an hour to get inside because of the long line of people. We tried 2 types of fish and both tasted fresh and great. Next day we went for lunch (luckily no waiting this time). We tried two types of toasts which were both fantastic. My favorite being the smoked salmon. Staff is very nice and friendly even though they were quite busy with serving all the crowd. Tip: in high season make a reservation if you don’t like to wait.

We arrived here with an admittedly large family group, hoping to find a nice lunch spot. Unfortunately and rather strangely, one of the staff members really didn’t wan’t us here and decided to not only not try to help us get seated but also systematically torpedo any of our attempts to combine different tables. The other female colleague looked on apologetically but we decided to look for another establishment. When we kindly explained why we were would be leaving (we weren’t even seated, remember?), we where treated with only smugness and ignorance. Too bad, because this behaviour is totally unseen on the island.
Nicolas van de Put — Google review
Nice place and atmosphere, the staff is also very friendly. Regarding the food: the fish and chips was a disappointment. Don't call it fish and chips if it has nothing to do with it. It was more like a sea fruit plate.
Csaba Vertessy — Google review
We came for lunch, had to wait a bit to be seated, because the terrace was full, but got a place rather fast. Generally good food, nice location.
Alexandra Romantseva — Google review
We came with higher expectations given the good reviews. The food was unfortunately not the best. Mossels seemed to be not fresh and there was hardly cheese on the nachos. The lady from the service was in comparison super friendly and she definitely deserved 5 stars.
Hanna Se — Google review
Wonderful view to the sea with the sun setting behind your back. There are plenty of seats indoors and outdoors. The staff is friendly and the menu is rather diverse, having in mind that this is beach cafe. The dinner is served from 17:00 to 20:00, so when we went at 20:30 dinner time was over. It was a bummer. We were at least allowed to have snacks and drinks. Make your dinner plans according to the kitchen schedule.

We where walk ins and they accommodated a table for us. Menu was diverse and a decent kids menu. Had the ribs and veggie dish. Food was above average, but not excellent (ribs had not been in the oven for example). Desert and coffee was great. Would recommend this place.

Hi, I had lunch in this place with my boyfriend. A reservation for the lunch is not required, you need to wait outside and when there is a free table you can have a sit. The staff was very nice and the service pretty fast. The menu offers a lot of dishes. I choose a meat salad and mussels soap. They were very tasty. It's located on the beach close to the lighthouse, just 6 min by bike. A good place where to spend some time.

Eetcafé de Rog offers a variety of vegan options, although they may not be clearly indicated on the menu. This restaurant provides delicious food at reasonable prices and has a charming terrace with a beautiful outlook. The staff is friendly, attentive, and efficient. It is advisable to make reservations in advance due to its popularity during the summer season.
Eetcafe de Rog is located in the village of cocksdorp on the island of Texel. The serve traditional extremely tasty (lekker) food at inexpensive prices. We had lunch there today afternoon and ate Broodje Pikante Kip (chicken sandwich), Brooke De Rog (cheese and ham sandwich) and toasty ham and cheese. For desert Dame Blanche and Homemade Brownie with Ice Cream. Everything was delicious and the staff is very friendly and helpful too. After having an excellent experience on lunch we reserved a table for dinner tonight. This review will be updated after dinner tonight 😋. Highly recommended and must try food on the island.

Located in De Cocksdorp, Netherlands, Strandpaviljoen Paal 28 is a family restaurant that offers an extensive menu of delectable food items. Although the menu was not accessible at the time of this review, their website provides a wide range of other food options from the area. One of the best places to eat at the beach in Texel. Spare ribs are recommended. If I may give one suggestion to the owners is giving a bit more garnishing and fries for a table of 6...you can ask for more of each for free but 1 small pot of fries for 6 to start is really not enough. Further the quality was great and the staff super friendly. I recommend to try the Texel gin tonic!
Kriske Devriese — Google review
Very authentic, cozy atmosphere with genuinely friendly and attentive staff and great food, definitely one of my favourites on Texel.
Thomas Klaemmt — Google review
Solid not too overpriced place. The food was good, but not brilliant. The staff had a wide range of friendliness. Maybe because of some language barriers since not everyone understood Dutch properly.
Hanna Se — Google review
Although I liked the ribs and the cake, 50 minutes waiting for the food was not my idea of a perfect dinner. Thanks to Luis and his colleague from Girona, super nice guys that changed a bad dinner to a good night with some laughs.
Alberto YP — Google review
We really enjoyed dinner at Paal 28. The local beers are fantastic and accompanied the BBQ ribs perfectly. The ribs are cooked very well and are an All-You-Can-Eat option so needless to say, we did not leave hungry. The Beef Fillet ('t Eiland) was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. Desserts were all very good as well! Overall a great experience, very well priced and recommended.

Bad, unfriendly service. Clearly giving you the impression of being unwanted. Side dishes very small for 4 people, plates not hot. The fish itself was okay, meat wasn’t. Accepted out reservation for 19:30 but began cleaning up and moving tables just 15 min later. Didn’t ask for desert wishes or anything.

Faro Beach Texel, specifically Faro 2, offers spectacular beach views and is a great spot to enjoy a cup of coffee after a leisurely stroll on the beach. The restaurant provides a beautiful view of the beach, sea, and lighthouse. It's an ideal place to warm up during colder weather. The staff are attentive and helpful, and the food and drinks are commendable.
Amazing service, the chef even came to our table to discuss some special requests regarding ingredients and food preparation, the staff really took extra trouble to help us and the food was fresh and delicious. Gorgeous views and kind helpful people, highly recommended

We visited on a rainy & windy Saturday midday for eats & drinks. The staff were very attentive and helpful, and the food & drinks were good. We had the Hamburger which was very good; excellent meat patty; my lunch special beenham sandwich on 'brown bread' (focaccia) was underwhelming; the bread was over toaster & the 'beenham' was more thin strips of bacon, but the truffel fries I ordered on the side were A-Mazing!!; highly recommend. All in all it was a pleasant experience but like all strand pavilions, I find the vibe lacking or non-existent; more a personal observation than a judgement on this specific place.

(Translated by Google) It's in a fantastic spot and you have a nice view, so they will always have guests. So my review won't make much difference to them. But I really hope they do something with my feedback. It is very strange that when we enter and wait at the 'wait here sign' we are passed by at least 6 employees who have completely ignored us. You can at least greet your guests and if it is not your job to take people to their table, then you say: "my colleague will be right there". The waiting time wasn't fun either. Shame, it really caused us frustration.

Faro 2. There is no Faro 1, but they called it Faro 2 because the old Faro was a self service restaurant. Faro 2 I would highly recommend. Advised to book a table in advance when visiting with a big group. They were very helpful with giving us a table outdoors. Service is good and well organized. The beach view is great, this part of the island is very quiet.

The restaurant is located in the north of the island of Texel in the immediate vicinity of the lighthouse. The staff is friendly and helpful. Access with pets, dogs, is allowed and they are provided with water. The food is prepared well for a location like this. Erg onvriendelijk behandeld. Succses er mee (Translated by Google) Treated very unfriendly. We were not allowed to sit outside while there were many people on the terrace. The wind was blowing hard so that was understandable. Once we were inside, no one came to us, although there were many staff walking around and we actively sought contact. Because I had some time pressure to catch the boat, I walked to the bar to order. The employee (man, blue eyes, didn't speak Dutch, which doesn't matter) then said in a very unfriendly tone that he would come to the table and looked really angry. I don't know what his problem was but we left immediately. I find it extremely unprofessional to treat customers this way. When I said hello, he looked at us angrily. It made no sense at all and we will definitely not be coming back here! Good luck with it
