Restaurant
Rickshaw, located in Attard, Malta at the Corinthia Palace, is a fantastic restaurant that offers an upscale Asian dining experience. With a diverse menu of Asian fusion dishes, Rickshaw aims to satisfy both carnivores and omnivores alike. The restaurant's staples are always appealing, but it's worth exploring the more unique options on offer.
Only time to try one restaurant in Malta? Make it the glowing gem that is Rickshaw. If you're coming by car, you can park in front of the flags on the Corinthia hotel grounds; there were spaces when we arrived at 17:45 on a Wednesday. Upon entering the Corinthia Hotel from the main entrance, take a left at the lobby and keep walking to enter Caprice Bar; inside there is a life-size rickshaw model and stairs leading down to Rickshaw restaurant. For some reason they've decided to locate this excellent dining establishment venue in a basement with dark decor. Although the decor is premium and reflective of the Asian continent, it would've been nice to have some windows to the outside world, or at least a sense of brightness. Nevertheless, a minor point given the following praise. Upon arrival you're greeted with warmth by the staff; in our case it was the manager who seated us. You immediately get a sense of top-end professionalism and the staff here know how to treat guests well in a premium restaurant environment. By the way, it's absolutely worth cashing in on the 15% discount off your bill, which is offered for reservations made for between 6-7pm - prime dinner time for me personally! To complement the service is excellent food, and this is where Rickshaw shines. As an omnivorous restaurant, the vast majority of the dishes will not be vegan-friendly. Having said that, the menu accounts for plant-based options and the modest selection that is available is cooked skillfully and presented inline with cadre of the very best restaurants. I have photos of my dishes - the one with the rice is one I clumsily put together myself so don't let that reflect the chef's good work - their magic can be found in the taste. My general recommendation is to make room for three courses, mainly because none are worth missing out on. The portions felt fairly sized and not the microscopic ones that you'll likely find at some Michelin-rated places. Let's just say I had dreams about the food post-visit. With such a wonderful dining experience, I can wholeheartedly say Rickshaw is a credit to Malta's rich demographic makeup and roster of restaurants. Highly recommended!

This place is amazing, everyone who likes asian food shuld give it a try. A waitress welcomed us with grace and a nice smile, and we felt immediately at ease. They have really special and unique dishes you'll not find in any other restaurant in Malta, and they use very high quality of ingredients. We had a "Thai fish salad" which is raw fish marinated with lime and other things, and it was superb. Very fresh fish, very good taste. We then had an "Iberico Segreto" and it was soooo good I closed my eyes while eating it. Then we had the "Five Spices Tofu" and it was so delicious... Prices are is in line with the quality. Wonderful experience. We'll come back as soon as possible to taste all the other dishes.

The restaurant is part of the Corinthia Palace. When we arrived the bar staff were not sure how to deal with us, not asking if we were dining or just drinking so we found our own way down to the restaurant. Upon arrival service improved considerably. There were four of us dining and we had:- Prawn crackers Prawn laksa lemak Miso broth Chicken sate (satay) Aromatic glazed duck (crispy duck) Beef clay pot - cooked at table. Minor issue was they presented this to cook then served remaining meals but forgot to actually serve mine out. A quick nod to staff sorted that out. It was stunning. Mapo Thai green curry Singapore noodles Egg fried rice All well presented and tasting excellent I would not hesitate to recommend a visit.

Great service (like the rest of the hotel!), but wasn’t really impressed by any of the food we had. Definitely not worth the price they charge (even if I take into consideration it’s a hotel restaurant, which usually is more expensive than a similar local restaurant).

Based in the Corinthian hotel the restaurant does feel separate which was good. The staff were impeccable in their service. Food excelled in all areas.

Been here on many occasions; its the best (and probably the only) quality Chinese food in Malta. The staff here are also excellent; friendly and efficient. Also recommend the Caprice Lounge upstairs before which is also a nice relaxing place to spend an hour or so before your meal.
Daniel Gatt Baldacchino — Google review
The food presented before us was impressively laid out. The group had a mix of grilled starters whereas I opted for the Miso soup which was a delicious vegetable broth with Chinese cabbage, tofu, Pak Choi and Gai Lan. The mains were duck, beef in a black bean sauce and a selection of seafood, all of which went down very well. Some of us had a dessert; mango ice cream with coconut terrine as well as black bean brownies. The staff are pleasant, helpful and friendly and the seating was comfortable. I could almost say the place was a tad overcrowded, not the Rickshaw I went to some few years ago. More tables seem to have been added in which made the atmosphere a bit loud for my liking but all in all, a highly enjoyable evening and an asian-themed restaurant to recommend.

Organised, efficient, streamlined, professional and friendly - that's how I would describe the waiting staff and the management at the Rickshaw. The kitchen staff of the Rickshaw are just as brilliant and talented. The head chef of the Rickshaw is Filipina and you can see some influence from the cuisine of the Philippines in the menu. We had the crab cakes and the chili lobster. The crab cakes had a really crunchy exterior and a juicy interior. Served with the honey and sweet chili sauce, the crab cakes were fantastic. The lobster, served with egg fried rice, was the real highlight of the meal. At the time, we were served with really meaty lobsters that's just bursting with flavour and had a perfect umami taste. They also serve delicious cocktails. Without a doubt, the Rickshaw is one of my favourite pan-Asian restaurants and it's so easy to see why it's so highly rated. Booking online is really easy and the Rickshaw responds quickly. I recommend booking a table as this place is quite popular!

A disgraceful service. So a quick wipe if the table with a dry toweI after the previous customer left and the only table indoors became available. I could see my coffee getting cold on the counter for 10 minutes and when I told the girl that we havd been waiting for quite some time she simply raised her shoulders and shrubbed me off. What a disgusting apporoach. I had no.option other than to walk out.

Relaxed cafe. Staff was helpful when I was asking about ingredients (I have a nut allergy) Can highly recommend the éclair and fruit tart!

Lovely food. Had their meat pie. The pastry was delicious and the pie tasted homemade in a good way. The cassata dessert was delicious.

Not even worth the one star. Waitress was very rude. We sat outside and after a while she came and said ‘YES’. I asked for a menu and after 10 minutes she slammed it on the table. We waited another 10 mins approx. She never came so we got up and left. Never again !!

Great cafe to eat in, or take out cake and coffee. This is a popular spot and gets busy, pop in early to beat the breakfast crowd. The coffee is very good. And the cakes are beautiful and tasty.

Situated within the exquisite Corinthia Hotel, The Summer Kitchen offers an extensive selection of lunch and dinner choices, including pasta, pizza, and gourmet hamburgers. Guests can relish in the peaceful and opulent ambience of the hotel's pool and garden area, providing a unique glimpse into Attard life. The squid ink tagliolini boasts an aromatic and delectable taste while maintaining a harmonious blend of flavors from the sea.
The Summer Kitchen is part of the Corinthia Palace hotel and is accessible for non-residents. Food is served in an open air area with view on the open kitchen and the pool! They have a great selection of food which would definitely kill your hunger if you have been in the pool all morning or all afternoon. Most of it on top are healthy options so you don’t feel like you are a sinner after all the pool side cocktails you had ! Great place for drinks and dinner!

The squid ink tagliolini was fragrant and tasted really fresh and delicious. The flavours of the sea in the pasta dish were balanced and the chef really made sure that they are highlighted. I enjoyed the prawns and the crab. As seen in the photo, they are also very generous with the portion sizes. I also appreciate the subtle taste of the Aleppo chilli which gave the dish a bit of a kick without overpowering the other flavours. The pistachio and chocolate ice cream were pretty good too.

This was a pleasant surprise. So close to my home yet I haven't been till today. Such a good restaurant. Fantastic food. Had some really tasty fresh fish, grilled to perfection. The staff are really good at their work, very attentive, very well mannered and educated, and very friendly and welcoming. Claudia was one of our servers and she was simply brilliant. A fantastic evening with great food. Also the atmosphere is very beautiful, set in a garden with a large pool. Thanks. Highly recommended and will definitely come again soon.

Fancy. Expensive. In a slice of paradise. We had the club sandwich, which has a heavy egg salad layer to it. I enjoyed the egg salad, but not everyone might.

Drab surroundings. Limited food selection. Wrong name: no summer ambience except high powered fans. No kitchen in sight either. Toppings on pinza was good and measured.

In 2023 the food menu was very expensive. No longer serving pizza. Burgers without salad & fries and need to order extra.

The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. It's a great place to enjoy breakfast or afternoon tea with friends.
Visited Jalies yesterday evening for a nice coffee. The servers are friendly. They recommended me the red velvet pastry what they are known for and it was delicious. Coffee was amazing and I also tried their ham and cheese toast. It was delicious as well. The cafe is well spread out in 3 sections. There is seating outside, inside ground floor and upstairs. The fairy lights all around give a beautiful ambiance.

Sat outside and waited 15 mins simply to be acknowledged, literally staff passing by and no one stopping. After I finally asked one of them to get me a menu, I was given the menu and asked to order by the cashier. That was when I just got up and left.

Patrons can savor delectable seafood pizza, spaghetti carbonara, and smoked salmon that are expertly prepared. The venue itself exudes beauty and elegance and provides exceptional A+ service to its guests.
6* not 5. We stayed at the hotel and while we intended to eat out we ended up eating at the restaurant four times in a week. It was all excellent and we just needed to try everything. We did not succeed which is why we will be returning. The service was flawless. Our favourite dish was by far the fettuccine bolognese. Do try the millefoglie and tiramisu as well.
Aliki Moysiadi — Google review
Food was excellent. We had the glorious fish platter to share to begin with, which is an experience in itself, followed by ossobuco and seabass specials and a pannacotta to share. Truly astounding. Very much enjoyed my experience at the Villa Corinthia. The recent renovation is aubtle yet creates a very relaxing and intimate environment. Worth a visit

Beautiful, elegant place, with great A+ service.

The restaurant boasts a charming design, creating a cozy atmosphere complemented by top-notch service. However, my disappointment stems from the fact that, despite its prestigious Michelin star, the food fell short. The selection and taste left much to be desired, indicating a potential imbalance in priorities, with more emphasis on decor and service than culinary excellence.
Teresa Tamas — Google review
Took mum for a birthday breakfast. Ordered al a carte, eggs Benedict for myself and a full English for my mother. The full English was served with only eggs, bacon and sausage with missing items from the menu. Attention was raised to the staff and the order was corrected however it was too late as the food was already consumed as it was getting cold. No compensation was offered. Service was mediocre.
