The Peninsula Hong Kong

Mentioned on
Hotel
The Peninsula Hong Kong, affectionately known as The Pen, is a grand hotel located at the tip of Tsim Sha Tsui. Built in 1928, it offers elegant quarters with a blend of East meets West decor. Guests can enjoy afternoon tea in the palm-filled lobby while listening to a resident string quartet. The hotel features 7 restaurants and a bar, as well as a spa and indoor pool.
One of the great historical building in Hong Kong since 1928. The lobby is breathtaking, staff always carry a smile and helpful. Room is in great design and historical, with some modern element. We ordered the room dining. The food was high quality and delicious, but not as good as I had in Four Season. Hope I can come back next time to celebrate my anniversary.

The room is a newly renovated high block of the hotel. Although it looks at the view of Kowloon, the place is also wide. There are all kinds of equipment in the room, especially the coffee machine in the room has hot water supply. The room is also equipped with a fax photocopier and all kinds of stationery. The most special thing is the room, even the hand-drying machine is also available, which is convenient for me to do nail polish. Because it is a celebration of anniversary the hotel will present desserts to celebrate, as well as fruit plates. The bathroom includes a large bathtub and shower, and there are two wash basins for our convenience. On the whole, the room is fully furnished after renovation, except the dinner included in the set meal is not as ideal, and the waiter service needs to be improved.

What an experience this hotel is. From when you depart the airport, right until you are re checking back into the airport, Peninsula hotel staff and right there with you, even loading the bags onto the Airlines checkin belt. (If you use their transfer service) This hotel is just pure opulence. The way they have inserted modern technology into this preserved historic building, is very impressive. Check in happens in your room, not at the desk. You don’t need to be out at 11am! Flexible checkout times! Like seriously? Facilities are next level. The only thing I would say, the pool would be even better outside. A stunning piece of art. Shout out to Charles on the egg station at the breakfast buffet - he remembered us every morning. Tried to find the “Archive” room - newsflash, it’s not what most of us would think.

Just more of a open note of appreciation for the spectacular experience of staying and dining at the Peninsula. Olga at the front desk and Jasmine at the concierge were exceptional in helping us at the hotel and providing extraordinary help: a huge thank you to them both and to the housekeeping staff for making our first time there unforgettable. Needless to say: the location is wonderful for walking and exploring around. And the dining options are all incredible. I hope this will be the beginning of many return visits.

Its very good overall, nevertheless it would have been better if the joining rooms are configured as they are confirmed during booking (king + twin). It happened on both occasion of our visit. But still a pleasant place for sure.

Harbour view from the room is awesome, at day and night. It was my best staycation ever. Over 5 stars experience from hotel. The service is excellent. Staff is very professional. Highly recommend high tea - The Lobby are truly elegant!

Great ambiance and an institution on afternoon teas... a must to try, at least! I enjoyed the sandwiches and sweets but went there for the authentic scones! Their tea selections are great also! Went with the family, and the servers were wonderful to my kids while I ran some errands around the area.

Definitely the top hotel in Hong Kong, narrowly beating the Ritz Carlton. The rooms are simply stunning with such high quality materials and attention to detail. The pool is magnificent although it is missing a hot water jacuzzi. Probably one of the top hotels worldwide. The price reflects this.

Where do I even start? I am out of words to describe this hotel. This hotel is probably one of the greatest hotels in Hong Kong and may be the top 10 in the World! This hotel offers spectacular food and service as well as tidy, clean, and spacious rooms that can be concluded in just one word. Perfect. This hotel is almost flawless with one minor issue, the location is in a very crowded street and can get quite loud some times. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this to the people who can afford it.

The Peninsula Hong Kong is definitely the icon of Hong Kong. Many would think TPHK is only known for lodging for the rich and famous, its world-class afternoon tea in the lobby or it’s extravagant wedding banquets, it offers more than what other luxurious hotels do. From its wellness spa, cake shop, home-made meals to its helicopter ride and English-style tea on a ferry, they never fail to innovate. Among all the amenities I have used over the years, I particularly enjoy their wellness spa, decorated cakes available at their boutique shop and their home-made meals.

I have enjoy so much in the hotel, the establishment is very easy to access and near to all shopping place and many mode of transportation. The room is best and very clean. Breakfast is above and beyond my expectation. The service staff are great with smile and they are ready to help you with everything with a best service mind. The afternoon tea also the best so far from many place in have been. Over all 100/10.

It was a terrific experience on our wedding anniversary. The staff was amicable and courteous—excellent service and cleanliness. Our experience with Felix peninsula restaurant was beautiful. Especially Ms. Lewis Chiu and Mr. Stanko Luicsic were amazing. Excellent service and gesture to accommodate our needs and make our day memorable. And we were making our day special.
Anika Saxena — Google review
This hotel was nice, but really overhyped in my opinion. Location was good and venue is beautiful but the service was mediocre. For the 'best' five star hotel in HK I expected quality and received average. Maybe it's the covid restrictions but breakfast was average and extremely slow. Also if you're mask doesn't cover your nose be prepared for the security guard to come by. The city and hotel is not ready for tourism in my opinion.
Masood Noori — Google review
What stood out was the warmly engaging staff, the immaculately maintained facilities, the tastefully furnished suite with high-tech conveniences, the breathtaking views of Victoria Harbour, and the atmospheric colonial legacy that was palpable across the elegant hotel. The vaunted Afternoon Tea, the gleaming Rolls Royce airport transfers, or a helicopter ride are not mandatory but on-call should one turn indulgent or decadent. A stay at the Peninsula is the stuff long lingering treasured memories are made of.

Celebrated my partner’s D-day here. Everything they served us for brunch was so opulent and delicious. Servers were all hands on and 200% attentive. The silverware made me feel like King Charles II. Definitely one for the books.

The Peninsula HongKong - is close to absolute perfection - including the RR pick up. what an experience! We unfortunately could only afford two nights - life is building memories - this one will last for ever.

I stayed at this beautiful hotel 2 years ago and it was absolutely beautiful because they had a TV in the bathroom and it was such a nice place to take a relaxing bath. We also used the helicopter service to take us to see Hong Kong from the top view for around 12 minutes. The rooms were spacious and the beds were soft, the pool looked so beautiful with antique architecture and classy style. The lobby is just decked with beautiful Greek statuettes lining the entire hotel and a live band plays songs on the balcony. Definitely gives you old money aesthetic.

Visited a few times but haven't stayed overnight. Came once for the arcade, once for tasty dim sum, and once just to see. The hotel and staff definitely feel top-notch, like 5++ stars. The arcade is cool to check out, and they even have live classical music to enjoy.

One of the best locations in HK for business. Staying here since 1988 and everything is nearly perfect; especially the dry cleaning, laundry and shoe shining service. Afternoon tea is quite enjoyable as well.

From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was transported to a world of elegance and sophistication. The attention to detail is evident in every corner, from the plush bedding to the beautiful furnishings. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and offer breathtaking views of the city or the harbor. I truly felt like I was staying in a haven of comfort and style. One of the standout features of this hotel is its rich history. The Peninsula Hong Kong has been a landmark in the city for over 90 years, and it has played host to countless dignitaries, celebrities, and discerning travelers. Perfect location in TST right across the road from the Avenue of Stars. Thoroughly enjoyed lunch at Spring Moon and swimming in the Roman bath house inspired pool. Also loved the harbour view suite with the iconic junkboats sailing across a stunning vista to sleep and wake up to.

One of the best hotels in Hong Kong. Their customer service is top notch and empathetic. My partner had covid and they were willing to accommodate in rescheduling for no extra cost. We stayed there for a staycation to celebrate my partner's birthday and they upgraded us for free to a harbor view! They surprised us with a cake as well! Compliments to the staff who checked us in, she was so sweet and welcoming! I wish I had gotten her name so I could thank her for the warmest welcome. the pool and the spa/sauna were fantastic and it was perfect to swim in. Great facilities all around. The amenities in the room were modern and the lighting controls were high-tech. I really love the interior of the room, the aesthetic was so pleasing and warm that feels like Hong Kong with the gorgeous view of the harbor. It has this relaxing and cozy ambiance inside. We also tried felix and it is top notch with an impeccable view. What an unforgettable experience. Thank you so much Peninsula!

This is the one of the best places and a must to visit if you ate in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark is also known as High Island East Dam Reservoir, so don't get confused. I have visited this place, but there is too less information regarding this place or how to reach here. But i will tell you in detail on how to reach here. 1. You have to reach Sai Kung 1st. You can reach here by taking an mtr or a bus. You can check on google maps on the route to reaching sai kung. 2. There is a direct bus to Sai Kung ( bus no. 92) from Diamond Hill mtr exit C2. 3. There is a minibus (no. 1A) from Choi Hung mtr station exit C2. 4. 101M minibus from Hung Hou mtr station exit B1. This is how you cam reach to Sai Kung. Now i will tell you how to go to the geopark from Sai Kung bus station. There are 3 ways: 1. You can take taxi from from the Sai Kung bus station. There are red and green taxis. The red ones are a bit costlier than the green ones. It will cost around 80HKD. The taxi stops at one end of the dam. There you will also find taxis waiting for you to take you back to Sai Kung, but on some occasions you may have to wait for a taxi from the dam. 2. You can take bus 96R to Pak Tam Chung from Sai Kung bus station. From here, you can hike for about 9km. 3. At the Sai Kung bus ststion, you will find a Volcano Discovery Centre. You can visit this centre. This centre provides information about how these rocks are formed. They also arrange bus and boat tours. The bus tours cost 110HKD for 3hrs. They drop and pick you at the geopark. The 3 sets of timings are 9:30-12:30 , 11:30-15:30 , 14:30-17:30. This is very convinent and reasonable also. The boat tour does not take you to the dam but it takes you around various islands, where you can see the different rock formations throughout the trip. They also make a 20 min stop at a Tin Hau temple on one of the island. The entire trio is of 3hrs and the price is 290HKD. But the real fun is visiting the East Dam Reservoir.

UNESCO global Geopark is in Sai kung. Getting there is easy, only 2 ride bus transportation from diamond hill or shatin. Or take taxi from saikung town. Bring your own food and drinks. Beautiful place, I love the rock formation. Bring your friends and have fun.

What a beautiful little spot. We camped at the campsite nearby and walked over in the morning. It was blazing hot but the view was spectacular! The blues and greens of the water, the shimmering ocean, the stunning formations of the molten lava, the majestic view of the reservoir, and even the dam was something to see. Come to learn how the earth and lava created the natural columns, how the sea carved caves and a small island, and how human engineering created a safe harbor so we could enjoy this place. If you love nature it's definitely a place to come and take in. There are busses that come in, otherwise you'll need to hike from the car park or take a taxi. Enjoy!

HK UNESCO Global GeoPark It was renamed as above on Sep 18-2011. It represents HK’s Geopark is one among 169 geoparks in the world. This park covered the Eastern side and North-Eastern regions of New Territories. Within the eastern portion it is the Sai Kung Volcanic Rock region. It shows many volcanic ash rock, volcanic Prism Columns and sea caves. It is a unique and beautiful land formation. With the sea, High Island Reservoir ,various Dams and green mountains and pure fine sand beach it can only be described as heavenly sceneries. It will be best to visit on Saturdays and Sundays as there will be Minibus 9a running from Pak Tam Chung to the Eastern Dam costing 11.30 HKD only. For the real hikers ,they can walk there for the whole stretch of 10 Km of Maclehose Trail 1 from Pak Tam Chung to the Eastern Dam. There will be minibus returning from East Dam to Pak Tam Chung up to 1900 hours. Not to worry if you miss the minibus ,you can call a taxi by phone back to Sai Kung for HKD 150 . The best time to visit will be late Autumn as it will not be too hot nor too glaring for the eyes. The 10 Km walk will be on paved roads along the High Island Reservoir. It will be a pleasant experience. For the more adventurous hiker, they can walk from Eastern Dam for about 1.5 Km to reach the Long Ke white sand beach. It is the best beach in HK. The hiker only needs to walk an elevation of about 100M up a slope and down 100m to the beach; quite easy , even stronger kids can manage. Must bring camera to capture so many beautiful awesome sceneries which one cannot digest at once. The whole region is something beyond the imagination of HK Residents that nature is such and so exceptionally beautiful. Written on 11-7-2022.
