Louisa Point in Matheran is a popular destination for hikers and photographers who seek panoramic views of ancient forts and scenic vistas. The spot offers two viewpoints - one showcasing the sky-touching mountain beauty, while the other presents breathtaking views of the civilians in the valley. Visitors can use binoculars to witness gorgeous landscapes including Gourelloa mountain, lakes, and waterfalls visible in all directions.
Probably the most beautiful point of matheran... sunset view was amazing... this point is located at an hour walk from the main town, so plan your tour accordingly !!

After trekking from sunrise point to Louisa point, Here you can rest, Louisa Point is one of the most famous viewpoints in Matheran. It offers two different views from the top - one view is of the sky touching the mountain and a panoramic view of the valley below. The other view is of the picturesque Charlotte Lake looking like a diamond necklace

Louisa Point is almost 1.5 km away from the marketplace and will take around 20 minutes to reach here on foot. If it's a clear sunny day, this place will offer you breathtaking views that will compel you to settle down here for a moment. This is a unique point in Matheran as it offers two different picturesque views. From one point, you can see the sky touching the mountains and a civilisation located far in a valley. If you visit during monsoon, you'll also be captivated by waterfalls. Another view is of Lake Charlotte that looks like a diamond necklace when seen from here. Louisa Point also offers a clear view of Prabal Fort. All these different views are intriguing and one can spend hours gazing at them. We sat there, soaked in the beauty of the place and relishing moments of silence. This place is known as a photographer's paradise in Matheran because it offers panoramic views of mountains, peaks, valleys, lake and waterfalls. In most of the travel portals, blogs and magazines, Matheran has been represented by using Louisa Point's pictures. During the peak season, photo points are a little crowded and sometimes you need to be patient for your view to be ‘people free’, but all your waiting time is worth those beautiful, dreamy and wallpaper pictures. Some people also stay at Louisa Point to watch the sunset.

Louisa Point, Matheran – Nature's Balcony I recently had the pleasure of visiting Louisa Point in Matheran, and it's an enchanting spot that I would rate at four stars. Here's why: 1. Stunning Panoramas:The view from Louisa Point is nothing short of stunning. You can see vast stretches of lush green forests, deep valleys, and the Sahyadri mountain range. The panoramas are captivating, especially during sunrise and sunset. 2. Nature's Beauty:If you're a nature enthusiast, you'll appreciate the biodiversity here. The place is surrounded by dense forests, and you might spot various bird species and other wildlife. 3. Hiking Opportunities:Louisa Point is a great starting point for several hiking trails in Matheran. Whether you're an experienced trekker or a casual walker, you can find a trail that suits your level. However, I'm withholding that fifth star due to the lack of proper amenities and signage. It can be a bit challenging to find your way around, and there aren't many facilities nearby. In conclusion, Louisa Point is a nature lover's paradise. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with incredible views, this spot in Matheran should be on your list. Just be prepared for a bit of adventure in finding your way around.

The beautiful hill station of Matheran has many spots from where you can get a splendid view of the scenery around, and Louisa Point is one such place. You’ll have to trek to reach here which gives this breathtaking place an adventurous tinge making it one of the best Matheran places to visit. Wearing a coat of lush grass and surrounded by the best shades of nature, it is one of the most recommended Matheran places you can visit. The hills, lake and waterfalls add charm to beautify it more. Watching the sunrise and sunset with your loved ones would prove to be the most soothing experiences of your life. Adventure activities like horse riding, hiking and camping make it more exciting.

This point is located very far from main market. It says 20 mins walk, but actually is 40 mins walk. Road is very dense in forest, so try and go in groups. However the view is amazing. There is a telescope guy there , who shows nearby points in 50rs. But worth it.

The bestest point offering a panaromic view of the hill station and the neighbouring points. When you enter matheran first cover this point along with Malang pt as later you might not want to walk so much and and then you can walk down to the lake. This will save your energy and time & will help you cover more points. Don't miss it.

Good view from Louisa Point. You get to see the echo point on one side, the water fall from the Charlote lake, full view of the lake in the valley and the other side of the mountain. Just be aware the walk from the Market place is about 25min one way, so be prepared for at least an hr of walk. The half of the walk way is Rocky which slows you down else the distance is not much.

Charlotte Lake is a serene body of water situated in Matheran. This tranquil reservoir offers visitors the chance to explore wooded nature trails and enjoy picnic spots, as well as marvel at its small dam with beautiful waterfalls. Despite lacking proper restrooms for women, Charlotte Lake remains a peaceful place to visit, with crystal clear water and scenic views that are best enjoyed during monsoon and winter seasons.
Charlotte lake in Matheran looks stunning during monsoon. Enjoy being very close to nature and away from hustle bustle of the city. Carry raincoats must as you won't be able to hold umbrella due to speedy wind and your umbrella will get damaged.

Very Peaceful and Wonderful Place. The only negative fact is that it does not have proper restrooms for ladies. The restroom that are there have a poor structure and the other ones are locked.

This lake rests amid the rich green circle of forest which make up for an amazing view. They're a treat for your eyes and also your heart. The area is quite calm and is highly recommended if you are looking for some peace of mind and it is one of best Matheran tourist places. Charlotte Lake is a known picnic spot and holds a top position in best Matheran places to visit. You can also enjoy bird watching here with your family and friends. Awesome place to spend the evening. Spending the evening is blissful. There is a lord Shiva temple and that is one of the best. The water, the greenery and sunset is out of the world. Must visit place. Returning back to market is a challenge as there are dust, horse and darkness.

Charlotte Lake is a beautiful lake in matheran. Water of Lake flows very slowly. Breeze creates ripples on water which is very soothing to eyes. On one side of the lake you can sit near the lake & dip your legs in the ice cold water of the lake. The lake is far from the market area so it takes 30 minutes to reach there. On the way to Charlotte lake, you will see a bungalow with a lot of black & white idols inside it & a lot of vintage looking furniture spread inside the compound of the bungalow.

The popular destination known as One Tree Hill Point draws in adventurers looking for breathtaking panoramic views. Situated atop a mountain, the spot is frequented by visitors who arrive early to make the most of their day and cover several hill points. Traveling on the Toy Train is recommended to save money with an additional tip to avoid horse riding. Visitors are advised to leave early enough after exploring their preferred spots as the last Toy Train departs, otherwise they would need to walk back to the parking lot.
Instead of riding a horse, we trekked for 5 km to reach One Tree hill and it was worth the experience. The path to the tree was a bit challenging but the view and the feeling after reaching that place was amazing. We started early in the morning around 6 so there was no one in the place except us. But during our time of return to the hotel around 9-10 we started seeing groups around that place. So if you want to just sit and enjoy the place, visit early.
Shradha Shah — Google review
Great, I reached late there but enjoyed the place very well. It's a nice hill station. Here are the tips 1st- reach there in the morning and then you can cover the most hill points. 2nd- if you want to save money travel on Toy Train and avoid horse riding. 3rd- leave early after covering your fun spaces with the last toy train either you have to walk to the parking lot. (Tips are for 1-day return travel only) (Neral is the nearest railway station and from there you can take a cab).

Visited One Tree Hill Point on July 02, 2023 at Matheran through trek from base village but could not climb on last point which is called one tree hill being slippery and foggy. It's quite risky in monsoon so everyone should avoid climbing the last point. Views are amazing and has waterfalls while descending from old British route.

Trekking to One Tree Point in Maharashtra was a memorable experience that left an indelible mark on me. It's a perfect getaway for nature lovers, offering an ideal combination of adventure, scenic beauty, and cultural insights. I highly recommend this trek to all fellow enthusiasts and look forward to exploring more such hidden treasures in Maharashtra's breathtaking landscape.
Shatalla 29 — Google review
This place is recently upgraded and now has steps and seats. The sun set and lake view is soothing. The local horse-riders donot cover these points under the 5-point or 7-point scheme. It’s best to take walks, it’s 2 kms one way walk from Matheran market. We returned around 8 in night, the road is fairly safe and lit. Actually when visiting on a horse back , the halt time does not allow you to sit or enjoy the view offered.
Meeta Herbert — Google review
One of the best place that I have ever experienced, If you are really travelling to this place I would suggest don't go with those horse, travel this place by walking. Best time to visit is in the morning around 6:30-7:00 when sunrise. I started my trek in the morning around 4:30-5:00. It took around 1-1.5 hrs to reach there from matheran railway station. Feel the place when No one is there, Experience the fresh Air, sun rise with a bird sound melody. I visited this place in the first week of September 2021. I'll say its a Heaven ! #walk #trek #weather #monsoon#jungleway #matheran

A single tree standing on the tip of a beautiful green mountain and the dense forests in the backdrop, surrounded by enormous natural beauty, One Tree Hill Point is one of the best places to visit in Matheran to lose yourself to nature. The wide ranges offering the variety of green shades is a sight to stand and stare. The amount of purity this place has soothes your eyes and rejuvenates your body and mind. All your anxieties, stress and worries are taken away from you in a moment when you reach, breath in the fresh air and take a look at the panoramic views this place provides.
Aniket Kamble — Google review
It was an amazing experience, especially because of monsoon. The trek was pretty smooth along with jungle patches in between totally covered with trees. Can recommend this trek to begginers also. Only difficult part arrives in the end where we were supposed to find a trail ourselfs along the rocky part which was tricky also due to heavy rains and clouds. The trek ends up at Matheran.

Awesome place to watch sunrise and sunset ,provide a wide view of the neral city and the dams constructed near it , not advisable to visit in the afternoon as the sun light might burn you but open air has strong current and feels cool, just make sure to carry enough drinking water as there are no shops or any place to buy and things on the way and is also a bit far away from the rest of the points in Matheran

For some of the best Matheran sightseeing, you need to come and experience this beauty. The best time to be here is during the monsoons. It attracts people with its panoramic view of the place. Photographers are very much in love with it due to the vibrancy of colours available here and is one of the best places to visit in Matheran. One of the best points of Matheran hill station, the views from the point are totally awesome. Do NOT skip this point, visit it first with fresh set of legs as one side walk from the start till the view point will take around 25-30 mins depending on the walking speed and videos/photos you take on your way to the point. The way to Panorama point starts from the Dasturi car parking area itself therefore you can visit this point even before buying the entry ticket to Matheran. If you are lucky can get good glimpse of the toy train making it's way up to Matheran from the view point. Make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes on your visit to Matheran.

View is great from this place. For hearing the echo, you need to stand at the point where it's written 'echo point' and be loud and distinct. Echo might not be clear during monsoon, because of lush greenery, which absorbs the sound, but because of the greenery the view will be beautiful.
