Siltrip offers a great trip through the canyons, visiting main enclaves with informative explanations from guides who are passionate about their work and the environment. The navigation time of 1 hour is more than enough, and the easy access to the pier makes for a comfortable experience. Visitors enjoy kayaking in beautiful locations with good quality equipment and excellent communication from the staff.
This is an awe inspiring trip. The vineyards were carved into the stone on either side of the canyon by the Romans and the harvesting process is still the same. The grapes are gathered by hand and collected in buckets pulled up the steep slopes by cables. The views along the way take your breath away. Don’t miss this!!!

Great small, boat trip with good commentary from Alejandro in Spanish only. The leather seating is really comfortable but best to bring a jumper for the breezes. The trip goes upstream along the dramatic section of the River Sil Canyon passing alot of notable scenic features like steeply sloping wine terraces, rock formations, ancient woodlands, waterfalls and viewpoints. We also saw lots of birdlife like buzzards, herons and a black headed gull. It's 18€ for about an hour with free parking.

(Translated by Google) It was worth it. Good trip through the canyons visiting main enclaves and with very good explanations from Manuel, who likes his job and loves the environment. Navigation time of 1 hour more than enough and with easy access to the pier, having to go down very comfortable stairs.

Excellent trip on a small boat in the 'natural' end of the canon - getting close to historic features like the glacial vineyards and relic stone homes. We sat beside the fabulous skipper who chatted about the dams and their affect on the ecology and culture

(Translated by Google) It has been a great experience. Our guide Manuel has been very kind and explained everything to us very well. The group with them is small so it is enjoyed and used much more than on a large boat. We will repeat for sure! (Original) Ha sido una experiencia genial. Nuestro guía Manuel ha sido muy amable y nos ha explicado todo muy bien. El grupo con ellos es reducido por lo que se disfruta y aprovecha mucho más que en una embarcación grande. Repetiremos seguro!

(Translated by Google) A tour through the “fjords” of Galicia, highly recommended. Manuel was a very good and nice guide, thank you for that. We were lucky enough to do a tour alone as a couple. In spring, rubber boots are recommended if you want to get to the jetty dry after the rainy season when there is a lot of water. Gladly again. Gerne wieder.

(Translated by Google) A fantastic experience!! It was a catamaran with reduced capacity (maximum 11). Which is very appreciated ☺️ The journey was very pleasant and the guide explained everything to us very well. It is more expensive than others but it is worth it because it is very enjoyable. It lasts about 50-55 minutes. Dura unos 50-55 minutos.

Cañón del Sil

Mentioned on
Nature preserve
The Cañón del Sil is a stunning nature preserve that boasts a vast river canyon with breathtaking views and terraced cliffs that support grape vines. The area is home to several rare bird species, making it a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Visitors can take a relaxing walk through the preserve, but should remember to bring plenty of water as the terrain can be challenging. Boat trips are also available for those who want to fully appreciate the sheer walls of history and numerous small family vineyards perched on them.
This is Spain’s Grand Canyon. On a smaller scale but just as majestic. Take the catamaran tour. It’s 9 euros and almost two hours. The history and views are exceptional.

Quiet amazing and un spoilt . Relaxing walk, make sure you take plenty of water with you. I went through 3 litres!! The walk I did was a circular (red route) from San estevo to the canyon. Keep an eye out for right angle turns.

Absolutely spectacular. a wonderful corner of Galicia. The visit to the place was on a Sunday and the silence of the area was overwhelming. Ideal for nature lovers!

Absolutely stunning views of Ribeira Sacra, the view from the lookout is gorgeous and was wonderful walking down the hills and going kayaking along the river from there (would recommend booking the kayaking in advance but they were happy for us to do it online at the time, might have accepted cash in person but we didn't have any on us at the time).

A very very long river canyon! Take a boat trip to truly appreciate the vastness of the countryside. Sheer walls of history, and many small family vineyards perched precariously on them too.
