A hidden diamond in the town of Messini. It doesn't catch the eye since it's located inside a narrow alley facing the main square. We chose to eat there on the first and last day of our summer holidays, trusting Google reviews, and it indeed justifies the 4.9-star rating! Delicious food, traditionally cooked by the hands of the women of the house, I bet! The owner of the place, whose name I cannot recall (sorry), is very communicative and hospitable, with always a smile on his face, and directness - dare I say unusual features of the Peloponnesian people. These people who run this tavern know their job and they do it exceptionally. It's not a surprise that this place has some really loyal customers. The only downside is it's location, since it doesn't have some great view to gaze at, but then again, it's not a big deal; it definitely makes amends with its high quality and value for money food. One more "thanks" to Mr. Vinosofies for the treat (2 icy cold soft drinks for the way back home)! (Another unusual gesture for a Peloponnese guy)!

Great food cooked by mom, great place in the plaza, very fair prices and very friendly staff! We had a wonderful evening here! The actual restaurant is on a small side street but has a few tables right on the plaza.

One of the most friendly restaurant's atmosphere. We also had a 2 year old child and they made it very easy to stay for us as long as we wanted and were very careful. The food was also very good, and in a very good price! I recommend it without any doubt!

Despite occupying probably the best spot in the Messinian gulf coast, this beach bar / restaurant / umbrella renting business totally lacks the professionalism required to run such an ambitious project. We visited in a very busy day. Obviously understaffed, we did not get any service at all in the 1,5 hours we spent there! The chairs and table were not cleaned and had leftovers from the previous clients. The place is huge and has the potential to serve hundreds of people, however, whoever runs this place doesn't seem to care about exploiting it to it's full capacity. Pitty...

Umbrellas are free, same as others in the area. Called two waiters. One it's not his tables, didn't get the other guy. The other guy said he's too busy for me to order a soda. It's not busy. Better service at the other places here.

Really friendly staff, nice atmosphere. They can make a vegan burger or just order the vegetarian pizza without cheese for vegan option. Staff speaks good English and is super engaged!

On our way back to Kalamata, we spontaniously stopped in Messini for dinner and a drink. This place caught our eye. The daiquiris were amazing, the burgers very good (especially big). To bad they made an error in our order, otherwise this would have been a five star review!

The place is just OK. Early morning it's less crowded, and the sea is calmer. Later on it gets crowded, louder with waves. The food is ok, the service tolerable and rather inconsistent. Greeks at this specific location fall behind on service and communication. They lack the strong international culture, experience, skills and expertise to efficiently deal with tourists at a higher level. Thats ok, it keeps the cost low. Lots of locals, I didnt see any foreigners, tourists. The cost of a small fish/seafood plateur with a couple of drinks for 2 people is 30-40 euros.

It is a nice place to chill at the Sea. Also you can eat here.
