Mountain peak
Nature & Parks
Mountains
Gunung Sikunir is a verdant peak surrounded by volcanic craters and terraced hills in Indonesia. It offers breathtaking sunrise views from the summit, akin to those of Bromo mountain. The climb to the top can be challenging, but it is worth it for an unforgettable experience. Dieng, also known as Gods abode, is home to this majestic peak which has been described as part of heaven on earth owing to its stunning sunrise views.
Gunung Sikunir is a mountain of enchantment that promises a breathtaking sunrise view. As I embarked on the trek, the crisp mountain air and anticipation of the scenic spectacle ahead kept me energized. The journey to the summit was an invigorating challenge. The well-marked trails took me through lush forests and open meadows, revealing captivating vistas along the way. The diversity of landscapes made the ascent engaging and rewarding. Arriving at the summit of Gunung Sikunir just before dawn was a surreal experience. The sight of the first rays of sunlight casting a golden hue upon the rolling hills and distant volcanoes was nothing short of magical. The iconic "sea of clouds" phenomenon is a sight to behold from Gunung Sikunir. As the mist gently enveloped the valleys below, I felt like I was floating above a dreamlike landscape, lost in the beauty of the moment. The sunrise spectacle was complemented by the camaraderie of fellow trekkers. The shared experience of witnessing nature's grandeur from the summit created a sense of unity and friendship that made the journey even more meaningful. In conclusion, Gunung Sikunir is a mountain of dreams that offers an unparalleled sunrise adventure. The trek to its summit is a rewarding challenge that leads to a moment of sheer wonder at nature's beauty. If you're a nature enthusiast or an adventurer at heart, I wholeheartedly recommend conquering Gunung Sikunir. The memories of the sunrise panorama and the bonds formed with fellow trekkers will stay with you long after you descend. Prepare to be inspired and humbled by the magnificence of Gunung Sikunir's summit!

Batu Pandang Ratapan Angin is a beautiful and mountainous tourist spot situated in Central Java's Dieng plateau. This area offers stunning views of the green-colored lake and plantations from a hilltop viewpoint, showcasing nature's magnificent creation. The entrance fee is reasonable, making it affordable for visitors to enjoy this breathtaking experience. Climbing to the top requires some effort, but it's worth it as you can see the mountains and the lake from above.
Dieng is one of the mountainous tourist areas located in Central Java, including this place, we can see the beautiful lake of color from above with cool air and sometimes foggy, from up here we can see the wonder of God's creation and nature always has a way of showing its beauty.

Visiting Batu Pandang Ratapan Angin, Indonesia, promises breathtaking views. Perched on a hill, this vantage point offers panoramic landscapes, making it a serene escape to immerse in nature's beauty and witness the wind's gentle lamentation. From this point we can see two lakes and the valley of the village near the hills.

On a hill overlooking the entire Dieng Plateau, the views here are really beautiful!! If you are thinking of coming to Dieng Plateau, make sure you book your stay with Pak Ratno at “HARUMI DIENG” he is a super good guide that provides access to secret spots and has many stories to tell. The hostel is also super clean!! There is also an owl here that you can take pictures and the owner is very nice he lets you hold the owl without paying money so if you are okay you should just tip him abit, its a hard job too Lovely place, Dieng plateau is a must come

Worth of money, because you can get the view of the mountains and the lake. The entrance fee not expensive, you just need to prepare yourself a bottle of water because you need to climb it, make sure you go on the top!

An incredible spot for photo-taking of Telaga Warna from above. The place is very enjoyable with food stalls on the corner, you can chill by the view while snacking. This place usually got visits from a big group of people. I would recommend visiting in the morning for a shorter queue.

Super photo op.stop. ticket is relative cheap. Just sgd 5 per pax. Has great lake views. If only sun will not play spoilsport. Well maintained. Worth making the time to visit along with other spots in Dieng plateau. Nice weather.

great place to enjoy Dieng's beauty. It's cheap and offers many things to see. It's definately a great alternative if you want to see Dieng's views but don't want to hike to Sikunir Hill. However, what slightly dissapoints me is how you need to pay another 5k for 2 people to go to Pohon Jodoh which is the highest point the the whole area. And is where you can get 360⁰ views with little to no obstructions. Overall, still great.
Homo Sapien — Google review
A higher ground to get an almost 360 degree view of the Dieng plateau. Nicely arranged with lush small gardens, and spots to rest or take selfies. However when you already paid for the entrance ticket, why do they have to charge again inside when you want to get to the highest point in the area?

Mysterious plate to visit. We drove from Wonosobo to the Dieng Plateau. Road is very scenic, nice view to the several mountains. We were lucky that it was clear. Recommend to drive in the morning, the bigger chance it is clear. On the plateau we visited the temples, the crater and hiked through the fields.

Dieng Plateau, already visited here for at least 3 times (if I'm not mistaken). Love the chilly breeze and the view most. But not overwhelmed with the tourist attraction itself. For those who love to have vacation in cold place, Dieng is best choice in Central Java. Find perfect homestay first that offers best amenities and best view so you can enjoy your vacation. Booked it long before your departure dates. . Thanks for reading my review & please follow my instagram @kimy.handmade

If you go to Yogyakarta or borrobudur you need to visit Dieng. It has temples lakes, steaming boiling mud, food and volcanoes. The air is clear and cool

Dieng has not this spiritual meaning and feeling anymore. It's a place for tourists who want to take posing selfies with the temples in the background. The village and the whole surround needs urgent a new waste concept. The area has nice opportunities for hiking but bad marked ways. To use a hiking app it's a good idea. If you stay there for vacation, bring your warm cloths - hostels have no heating.

Mountains
Mount Sindoro is an active composite volcano that can be accessed through a challenging path. The most common trail to reach the summit is Kledung, which is easily accessible from Kledung Pass. The view from the track is breathtaking, with Mt. Sumbing visible in the background. As you approach the top, you'll encounter a rocky terrain and a strong sulfur smell due to its active status as a volcano.
One of the many beautiful Indonesian mountains, who needs to travel abroad for a vacation with places like this! 2-Days, 1-night; 1st day in a couple of hours to basecamp, early next morning summit, go during weekdays to avoid busy weekend

Get a chance to hike to Mount Sundoro. From the basecamp, you can take a ride to Post 1 for 25K and near post 2 (40K) to save us 2-3 hours. The views overlooking mount Sumbimg, and there are plenty good spectular spot for memorable pictures. There are many popluar Hike Agent that can help us with camping tent setting as well food and guides. At post 3 you can buy water supply.

I hike up to Sindoro via Kledung. The hike up was pretty hard. Plus the wind was rough. Guide and porter are available at the basecamp. The crew are also very friendly. The basecamp itself is very easy to find. Ride a bus from Jogja, Semarang or Purwokerto and stop at Kledung Pass. Then walk to the basecamp.
Imam Santosa — Google review
There's plenty of track that leads to Sindoro, but the most common track is Kledung. It's very accessible, located in the side of Kledung Pass (Wonosobo-Temanggung). Very easy to reach. View from track is just awesome, you can see Mt. Sumbing behind your back. The closer you get to the top, you will find a rocky track, so be careful. Basically Mt. Sindoro is an active volcano, so when you're close to the top, you will feel a strong smell of sulfur as well.

It takes about 3 hours to get the base camp of Kledung from Yogyakarta by motorcycle. The starting point to climb the mount is near the road. You can use "Ojek" to get Post 1 and half, it's only IDR 25K. It takes about 15 minutes. The track was very hard. But the view was very amazing.

I'm hiking Sindoro Mountain, Temanggung, with my friends in December 2017. The peak of Sindoro was in December because we wanted to celebrate the end of 2017. The Sindoro Wind was quite strong so we had difficulty building tents. The most ridiculous experience was when we were sleeping in a tent. There is a pig sniffing at our tent. Then there was someone who shouted that his tent was damaged by a pig. Ha ha. I was very scared at that time but stayed in the tent for fear of pigs. But the sindoro mountain is very beautiful. The view from Sindoro Mountain is Sumbing Mountain and the ocean of clouds is very beautiful. We are like on a cloud. Ufortunately I did not get to the highest peak of Mount Sindoro. Because at that time I was menstruating. According to local customs if a woman is menstruating it is not allowed to reach the highest peak because there will be danger. I obey their orders to be safe on Mount Sindoro.
Yhuli Priyatin — Google review
We trekked via Alang-alang Sewu route. The initial trek to the camp area (Pos 4) was pretty easy with clear routes. The hardest part was the trek to the summit — it’s a trek filled with limestones all over with really steep slopes. Not for the inexperienced. Halfway to the summit there’s another checkpoint (Pos 5), which is there to serve one purpose only: to tell you that the summit is still far ahead. Make sure you bring enough snacks and water.

It tastes sweet and savory because apart from the spices, the gravy is made from dried shrimp, palm sugar, and wet tapioca which makes it thick, and served with homemade sweet soy sauce. The blend of the sweet palm sugar and the savory dried shrimp creates unique taste. It is best enjoy with chicken or beef satay, and i ordered both. This restaurant also sells ‘geblek’ and ‘kemul tempeh’, Wonosobo's signature fritters that you must try! So for you who visit Wonosobo and looking for something special from this area, i highly recommend this place.

Mie Ongklok Bu Umi is another eatery that serves the popular dish called mie ongklok. It is conveniently located around 500 meters away from the city center of Wonosobo, making it a must-visit place. This particular noodle shop deserves praise for its delicious taste, especially for spicy food lovers. The noodles have a light texture and are accompanied by a flavorful tapioca sauce that combines savory and sweet notes.
The dish presentation may not be too tempting but never underestimate the taste. The combination of mie ongklok and tempe kemul is so good. The satay is so so, not really my taste.
Ali Tafrihatullutfi (Kang Lutfi) — Google review
Coming here because "mie ongklok longkrang" is closed of renovation. really disappointed because the "starchy sauce" that supposed to be thick isn't so thick and it is so runny. i think i'm not exaggerating if i said that this has no difference with "mie ayam" 🫠 the price i think it's normal mie ongklok is for IDR 11K sate sapi or "cow satay" is IDR 28K and ice tea for IDR 3K i think if you want an authentic mie ongklok taste, this place is not recommended

Colling down in Wonosobo is just feels right. Low temperature small town will make sure that you can have this unique dishes. Mie Ongklok is kind of Lomie from Bandung but with savory taste and additional accent from ground peanut. Yep, this is unique: Noodle+thick soup+pounded peanut+cabbage and some other veggies that you may find in a bowl of soup. Is it good? Well it is to me, I have no complain about this. This Sate Sapi (beef satay) is tender and came with slight different peanut sauce, too sweet for me actually but still good. Worth to try when you are in Wonosobo.

Light noodle with touch of tapioca sauce, tastes savory and sweet. Better eaten with side of chicken or beef satay. Pros: + Easy to be noticed from the road + Quick serving time and informative + Decent price for decent portion + A lot of tables to accomodate big party + Clean toilet Cons: - No dedicated parking space - The toilet the squatting ones and a bit cramped for some

The best mie ongklok in town i think. Tried it with the satay, which was also good. I love it. You might be surprise. But I found this place is cozy. What I like the most is since Wonosobo temperature relatively cold and by night it could be dramatically even cooler I don't bother for this place provide quite tasty food and beverages. Another good thing is the price is way friendly. Ah another thing, they accept payment through 3rd party cashless apps infamous within Indonesia like LinkAja, GoPay and OVO also debot and ctedit cards. Grab the signature coffee and wRm tempe kemul fast! I gave 3 stars because I hope they concern about the restroom. The tend to run outbof water often. Pleaze fixed it. Above all 5 stars might be given.

It's a quite nice place with mountains view. The price was reasonable. I think they still could improve the quality and the taste of the foods.
