You can visit if you wanted to see how traditional Thai silk "Yok Thong" are dyed and weaved. There's quite a number of tuk tuk at the Surin bus station and you will have no issue to get a grab while visiting Ban Tha Sawang , but you've to call for Surin Taxi to pick you up upon returning to the bus terminal or Surin city because it's almost imp to get any tuk tuk or grab near Ban Tha Sawang village. This kind of masterpiece handicrafts are very precious as it might become extinct in the future. One of the renowned Thai silk brand "Chansoma" is located here. The fabric must be pre-order and be prepared it's very expensive!!! You can order on their "Chansoma" Facebook page. For more affordable options of Thai silks, you can also support the shops around the weaving centre. There're a few shops selling quality Mudmee silk, Surin silk, Yok dok silk. Visited in August 2023.

This is a small collection of shops selling all handwoven silks in beautiful patterns. There is a small jungle-like settlement of small traditional wood structures with expert crafts people spinning silk and weaving on large traditional hand looms. These are not amateurs, rather master crafts people. There are no entry fees or hard sales. You are free to browse and the shop folk are helpful and friendly. This is an OTOP (One Tambon One Product) village. When in Surin, Buriram, Sisaket, or Yasothon be sure to stop by to see these gentlefolks keeping a lost craft alive. The fabrics are beautiful.

Traditional way of weaving silk in very fine patterns. Some weaving machines are operated by 4 persons, very complex. Mostly elderly women, let's hope there is s next generation to learn their skills but probably not....

The Surin Nation Museum is located 15-20 minutes driving distance from the Surin City center. The staff is friendly and helpful. English speaking guides are also available in case the visitors have questions. The Museum explains the history of the region and its traditions. An activity area for kids is also available. It's very well maintained, organized, and informative with English/Thailand explanations throughout the visit. The entrance is free but I recommend buying something from the souvenir shop to show your support to the museum. I recommend a visit to the Surin National Museum for a deeper understanding of the locals and their heritage. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Very interesting exhibits showing off the history of Surin and it's peoples. Lots of really cool displays all in English. Worth a look of you're into that.

Very limited details. Most are shows of general geology and global eras. Internet offers much more informations about Surin. Visitors parking area is directly under the sun while staffs' are under full shade. There were about 25 staffs in my vicinity while there was only one visitor which was me. 5 fans were in full blowing mode blowing no visitors in the building, probably for spiritual purpose.

We expected very little and left very impressed. Free entrance This is an unassuming building south of town that looks more like a government office than a museum. The carpark was completely empty and the lady at the information booth looked surprised that two farang were showing up. To the left of the entrance there are some replica of Khmer temple stones that look a bit boring, don’t be discouraged and walk into the main building behind. Where you will see some explanations of the geology in Surin province. Continue walking toward the rear, this is where it starts to get interesting: there are many exhibits about the different ethnic groups that live in Surin, their way of life, culture, crafts etc. All exhibits have signs in Thai and English (very well written English). Some exhibits include life-size figures of villagers and their activities. There’s also a video about silk making and weaving (in Thai and English!) They must not get a lot of foreigners, despite the excellent English explanations: The staff asked us if they could take a picture of us while we meandered through the exhibits :-) This Museum is definitely worth a visit and the entrance is free. It beats many museums that charge a few hundred-baht entrance.

This should be added to you itinerary when coming to Surin city. This is a royal temple with three main buildings each worthy of a look. The main Ubosot has some very nice murals depicting the life of Buddha among other things. The second building, just to the right, is dedicated to a revered buddhist monk. The third building, behind the Ubosot, is in my opinion the most beautiful if the three.

This wonderful water park was really enjoyable the 2 times i went, lazy river and 3 pools.water was cold and clean, very fresh feeling What a great way to get out of the heat and cool off in the water. The slides are fun and there's plenty of shade and showers. They also have food but sadly NO BEER!
A H — Google review
Nearly all water slide broken, water dirty. Would not recommend this water park.

Oldish place, but still pleasant, especially in 40 degree temperatures. Inexpensive tickets. Not much too buy to eat there.
Sol Friedman — Google review
Overly strict on swimming costumes when all the kids had nylon swimwear, forcing them them to buy or rent swimming costumes at 50 baht each as well as entry fee. Top floor slide wasnt on or working. Also note they will not allow anyone over 100kg on the slides. Life guards are attentive if not a little strict. None of the drinks or food stalls open. Toilets and showers clean enough. Enough of the whinging ...kids had fun .. ages 6 to 14 so guess thats important.
Marc Walker — Google review
Nice place a bit noisy. Small slide 2 running 1 close. Slide fall into small pool designed like a channel. There's another pool more classic style and average size. Child can amaze a bit annoying for adult

All attractions where open and working, I can really recommend this gem of a waterpark in Esaan. Food portions where huge, fried rice for atleast three people 120baht. Life guard on duty all the time and they where doing their job good. 11 people cost us around 1000baht to enter, cheap compared to other waterparks.

Prasat Muang Tee consists of 5 prangs, built with bricks and plaster. located on the same base At present, there are only 3 ruins remaining: the central one and the northeastern corner. and the southwest side The middle one is the largest. Due to modifications in later periods, the top part was made in the form of a three-tiered elemental body. The top part was broken. The remaining two were of similar size and appearance. Scholars have assumed the age of this ancient site in two ways: 1. Consider the architectural characteristics of the castle which is slender and from the history of the city at the end of the Ayutthaya period. Prasat Muang Tina was probably built and extended by Khmer and Kui groups who came to settle in this area at the end of the Ayutthaya period. and tried to revive the prosperity of the Khmer Empire in the past 2. This ancient site was originally a religious site of the ancient Khmer culture. Later, in the late Ayutthaya period It was expanded by Khmer and Kui groups who came to settle.
