The Kohima War Cemetery is a well-maintained memorial located on the site of a WWII battlefield. It serves as the final resting place for over 1400 soldiers from Britain, India, and other Allied forces who lost their lives during one of the most intense battles of the war. The cemetery is situated on terraced lawns that once belonged to the British Deputy Commissioner's bungalow, with some of the fiercest fighting occurring on what was once a tennis court.

Zoo
Perched on a hill, Kohima Mini Zoo offers mesmerizing views of the city and is a well-maintained site for wildlife enthusiasts and bird-watchers. It's not your typical zoo, as it operates as a private rescue center for animals and birds. The owner's dedication is evident in the diverse range of species housed here. Visitors can enjoy seeing various uncommon birds and animals while learning about local wildlife conservation efforts.
This Zoo is private operation zoo. Actually this not a zoo. Rescued animals and birds 🐦 they keeps and give medical treatment after some they release to forrest. But here have many verities of birds, and animals. They feed food to animals from own fund. But really very worth. Nice small setup. Can see some beautiful birds. Owl 🦉 is very wonderful. No entry ticket. Free only. Sunday and Saturday is good for visitors. Because ower son will guide you. God bless this owner and owner family.

Rest in Peace to the owner of the zoo. I still remember going to this zoo when i was a little kid. Sad to hear it's getting permanently closed.

It's a lovey place in Kohima the capital of Nagaland for animal lover. It's really a mini zoo. There are different kinds of uncommon birds and animals in this zoo. It's not sponsored by Govt. Hats off to the owner of this mini zoo. One can visit here on Saturday and Sunday only.
Jagdeep Kumar Singh — Google review
The name suits just right. It's a mini zoo though.. but contains almistall the animals & birds that are mainly pride of Nagaland. So I suggest one should really visit it when they come to High School.... Place worth visiting especially with kids & also adults those who love animals.😘 Hats off to the owner.
Longchari — Google review
Small yet effective...it caters to the needs of children as many species of birds and animals are extinct now in Nagaland. Children can identify specific birds and animals found in different parts of the state.

Variety of animals are kept here. Should not expect like a full blown zoo, but the owner tried their best to showcase as much animals as possible.

Always Loved it since childhood. Many childhood memories lies here in being scared right from the entrance of the huge man standing to shake hands with you to the realistic wood craft human beings seated as well as standing.. and looks just so real that sometimes from sideways it looks like staring right back at you and growing or smiling at you. And Alas! If the lights go off.. it doesn't happen these days maybe due to upgraded inverters etc.. but during childhood if it happens we would cling to our sisters and cry too...🤧.. But indeed it's a WONDERFUL experience and yes!! You can see some of the WWll remains... Which will surely amaze you. All♥️

The Kohima State Museum is a fascinating establishment showcasing the rich cultural heritage and history of Nagaland. It houses a diverse collection of artifacts, traditional Naga costumes, weaponry, handicrafts, and historical relics, providing visitors with a comprehensive insight into the Naga tribes' customs, traditions, and history. The museum offers a valuable educational experience, although some visitors may find the exhibits limited or in need of modernization. Nonetheless, it remains a significant cultural asset, offering a glimpse into the vibrant and diverse heritage of the region.

Located at a hill top with amazing scenic view of the whole Kohima town. You can find restaurants and local markets nearby too. Museum is very beautiful with Naga traditional lifestyle and way of life on display from ancient times. Ground floor has some artifacts. First floor has all the interesting and traditional stuff- from weapons to shawls, necklaces, ethnic wear of all tribes of Nagaland. Top floor has all the beautiful Naga traditional shawls and ethnic wear representing all tribes. Well maintained and kept clean. Security cameras on all floor for safety. There is even a photo booth inside. Unfortunately you have to pay 50 rupees for taking photos, 100 for videos and 1000 for professional videography. You can get ticket at counter for 10 rupees per person. Outdid the building you can find some traditional things too. At the entrance there are some artifacts/art installation as well. You can learn all about Naga traditions and lifestyles here. You can also ask for a guided tour of the museum. Small museum but very informative and educational.

Great place for nature lovers. A vast variety of herbs and flowers can be seen. The garden garden won't blow your mind or anything but its see a great place. You can learn about the different kinds of flora and herb, and some rare ones that can only be found in Kohima. And lastly a great for taking some great photos.
Wokos — Google review
Botanical Garden maintained by Forest Dept., Govt of Nagaland. Open on all days except Sundays. Large area but developed area is limited with some herbal gardens, different varieties of roses, indigenous trees, etc and a view point of Kohima town. Cool shaded area with a small ground and children's park. Parking space available inside. Ideal place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the town, however, maintenance is not up to the mark. No restaurants nearby so better take refreshments from the town.
Dzieseneituo Vincent — Google review
Gate is always closed! It is never opened. From what I learned upon enquiry it seems they open it only sometimes. Been there twice. On both ocassions the gate was closed.

The dining establishment Chingtsuong Restaurant offers a decent culinary experience, with the food being satisfactory overall. One particular dish, the pork with anishi curry, stands out as delectable. However, it would be beneficial if there were more vegetables or additional curry to accompany the meal. The venue itself is clean and exudes a charming Naga kitchen atmosphere. Notably, this eatery accommodates special requests for dishes not featured on their daily menu, which is commendable.
Amazing food and interiors. Gives authentic Ao Naga cuisines. Must visit
Alemwabang Ozukum — Google review
The food here is just okay. Pork with anishi curry was yummy but they could add more veggies or curry to the meal I guess. The place is clean and has a very Naga kitchen vibe. We ordered food that wasn't on their specific 'day' menu but they prepared for us anyway so yay! The staff here are polite. Considering the fact that there are very less places that serve Naga cuisine for lunch/dinner, this quaint old little place is a must try.

As the weather is unpredictable, pretty much impressed with the owner's thought to keep a basket for the wet umbrella's near the entrance. They seem to love the tradition, where the food is served on a clean leaf, gives us the wholesome experience of local food. If you are on your first trip then try the snail. It might be difficult but you can always take the help of locals there.

This is The Best' traditional Naga food Restaurant in Kohima. Period. Other places don't even come close to what this magical place offers in terms of Authentic Naga food. This is an ideal place for any individual to experience the truest form of Naga food outside the Naga home. It has a beautiful Naga traditional ambience too. It is located right in the middle of the town and opens till late at night( for Kohima standard). It is a cozy place, not at all fancy and pretentious and the food is just magical. One has to experience this place to have the full Naga experience! Rocky and Mayur ( popular food critics) have given this place a thumbs up too praising it for its delicious food (particularly its non veg dishes). This place is crazy good! Must try!

A place with very traditional atmosphere and set up. The ethnic Naga dishes served here are superb. Mixed Soup Chow is my all time fav.
Renthunglo Tungoe — Google review
They weren't expecting a group of 10 barging in for their speciality for some time I suppose. Hence out of almost a a few dozen traditional items they could only serve us a few. To be precise one Rice thali with pork and anishe plus lassi. The rest of the mouthwatering dishes were left untasted as there weren't much they could serve us. But yeah you should visit this place if you are in Kohima.

It's a good place to hang out with friends and family. Although there is a slight parking problem the restaurant is at a strategic location for visitors as it's not far away from the main town and business centres like PR Hill. I gave them 5 star as because their great food quality. They're awesome in service with polite behaviour. But very very bad on late services. Have to wait here minimum 45 minutes for one order. So if you want to try their dishes kindly take your own time. Don't go when u have short time in your hand. So please wait for their great food. I love this place always.
Avijit Sikder — Google review
The place was good, but had a horrible experience due to loud deliberate noise pollution created by some tourist group clearly with no civic sense or consideration for other customers. The two star is for the server trying his best to smooth things out. I hope they consider other customers when allowing some large groups to dine in or at least warn others about the ruckuss. That group should be charged extra If they want to enjoy the whole space without considering others right. Freedom of expression is true but noise pollution is also a reality and a punishable offence.
Esther Lohe — Google review
As a Dimapur resident, whenever I go to Kohima I visit this restaurant and I often find this place an excellent place for dates. On count, it's my second visit with my gf to this restaurant where I literally find everything amusing since it's not as usual as other restaurants. Of all the food served here, I really like 🍕 pizza. The crispy and creamy flavour of well cooked cheese. I won't really recommend starters since I don't like the taste of those drinks which are too over priced and tasteless if I should compare with other local restaurants found in Dimapur. So far I've visited only two restaurants in Kohima. The other restaurant is Rendezvous which is exceptionally good with South dishes so these two restaurants can't exactly be compared since they both serve different types of fast food. Those respectful workers can't be ignored. The first impression on me was those polite and gentle humans who work in this restaurant. It's so overwhelming to find such hospitable and gentle workers in this place since humanity has lost its value in every corner of this world. 5* stars for those of you who work here and I really appreciate you all. Continue your service and be a humble human and I'm sure people like me and you can learn from each other. I hope whoever visits this place gets inspired from you all. Mind you people who come here to stare at others. This is a place for you and I to come have fun and leave with satisfaction upon fulfilling our desires and not a place to come and stare at everyone which is weird to keep staring at others. Manners is all we in this world to co-exist. Learn from those people who work here. Location:- the main drawback of this place will be the location. The restaurant has such a big name and serves awesome foods, but in order for one to get to this place I would recommend going from a taxi since there is no parking place for customers. Parking lots are a little too far from this restaurant which is quite inconvenient as one has to walk for a little long distance. Bonus:- Please don't wait for your customers to come to the counter for billing. I'm humbly sorry that I have to give 4* for service since i didn't really like the waiting for the billing. Overall, I really had a great time and I'll be there the next time to give 5*s for everything. Continue serving with generosity and hospitality I'm sure people who visit this place will learn from you all. But, never exaggerate it, do it from your heart and soul. Hope everyone of you is getting well paid! Cause you all deserve it.
