Heritage museum
Bukit Tengkorak Archaeological Site, also known as Skull Hill, is a popular destination for nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, and photographers. The hill features four viewing platforms offering breathtaking views of the surrounding area. While the climb to the top can be challenging and may not be suitable for seniors, it is well worth it for the stunning sights. Additionally, visitors can explore the archaeological site and its museum to learn about the area's history.
Love the amazing view. Mind your step and climb slowly whilst enjoy the breeze and breathtaking view around you.
Nor Haslinda Jalil — Google review
Went here on mac/2024. 15 -20 minutes hike depends on your stamina. Very easy hike. Not well maintained infrastructure due to lack of budget. Lots of rubbish here and there too. Pity that it was once a well visited archeological site and now looks abandoned. It is free entrance. If someone at the top ask for fee, dont fall for it. Just politely say No and continue your journey.
sumandak mbgel — Google review
Going to this place need signboards as roads seem to lead elsewhere. Follow Google map! The muzium was not well lit but highly informative, and the climb was a little tiring with many amazing views of Semporna. Perhaps for the curious mind, they could highlight specific areas where certain artefacts were found. Else it was just nice outposts for the view.

May not be that far. Wss told it was 300m distance. But it was a steep climb. All in all. Nice view from the top. Free entry

Bukit Tengkorak. A place to see and hike. You can visit the museum and hike the hill before 5 pm. No ticket is required.
Chang Tun Kuet — Google review
Visited on a Sunday morning. The hike from the start to the top of the hill is about 599steps and can be completed in 30-45 minutes. The view is spectacular and worth the climb. Many shelters and seat along the trail and hence allow for rest and picnic. Highly recommended! The museum is free entry and have very clear illustration on the ancient modern men found on the hill.
Eng Siong Lee — Google review
I not a hiking person. Took me 1h to reach to the peak. Towards the end the path is quite difficult. A few hut for resting is available on the way. Platform at the back of the mountain hv good view.
lee san — Google review
Still free of charge to come here as I write this review. I straight away went for the hike, have easy stairs. Have two-three rest stop for you take a breather or see the view. Beware of the animals here like snakes, monkeys and etc. The guy at the museum said, if you don't have any food on you it will be fine, the monkeys won't harass you. The view was nice and beautiful, for an easy hike (with the stairs). The museum was filled with information about the place and surrounding. It was very informative. The Grab services here were adequate, so it's easy to find Grab driver.
Mohd Zulhazeeq — Google review
Great little museum and hike, a good alternative if you want to do something non water-related here in Semporna. I'm told the monkeys are more active in the evening. I was here at 9am and didn't see any. careful that service can be spotty if you want to get a Grab but the nice guy who works here allowed me to hot spot and after that getting a grab wasn't a problem.
Diane Lin — Google review
Went hiking up the hill, but did not manage to visit the museum. The hike is well worth it, beautiful views at the end, walking up wooden stairs and relatively well maintained paths. It’s not terribly difficult to reach the top, but one should be relatively physically fit to do so. Also if you’re coming here via ride hailing, remember to take down the number of the driver, or pre-arrange your transportation back into town as you’ll be hard pressed to get any form of transportation to return.

Tanjung Parapat is a hill located about 20 kilometers from the town, offering breathtaking views and two viewpoints accessible via an easy and well-maintained trail. Visitors can stay overnight in water chalets, with plans for land chalets in progress. It's recommended to visit early in the morning for a stunning sunrise or in the evening for a beautiful sunset over the water. The hill is great for outdoor enthusiasts, offering opportunities for hiking, running, jogging, and picnicking.
It's a must visit if you enjoy the outdoors & you are always searching for a an Awesome view. Go there early before 5am to watch the breathtaking sunrise on the hill before it gets too hot or go there in the evening to catch the sunset from down below over the water.. Great for a run, jog or just walk up hill anytime of the day.. must go all the way up for a picnic but come prepared & please this wonderful place clean

Went there when drive from Semporna to Tawau airport. Restoran not open during lunch. Just go to Bukit Parapat. Paid RM3 per pax to go up hill. Not easy to go up if you have legs pain. But worth when we saw nice views.

This is not the 1st time i ate here .... At the restaurant that closer to the resort... The owner didn't manage to keep good reputation for thier restaurant. Not friendly as well. The last time we ate there, we ordered squid (fried and sambal) and cabbage fried with garlic... The cabbage was overcooked and test bitter and the presentation was out, looked black. We ordered squid for half kg..but it looked really not worth...the sambal sotong not sambal but just like source. We ordered nescafe O ice but the waiter keep sent wrong order...on the third time he still sent wrong drink but we just took it because don't want to wait for any longer 😞. The customer behind us also face the same thing. I thought the waiter not really understand malay language. It really different with our 1st experience eating there...

This place is located 30 mins away from Semporna town. We rented a car (RM120/day) to go there as the tour agency is charging us RM130 for 3 people (don’t think is worth it). The entrance fee to Bukit Parapat is RM3. Easy hike (kids friendly) with amazing views. There are hammocks for you to enjoy the breezy wind. After that we went to Tanjung Parapat for a walk. Will recommend this place to everyone visiting Semporna.

My pictures is a bit cloudy because the rain is on its way 😂 You can spend night here on water, they have chalet for tourists, and on land chalet is still in progress (the time I went there) You definitely can climb and enjoy this majestic view from the top of the hill. I will say beginner might have to catch a few air before continue to the top (if you're not fit like me😂😅). Enjoy one of the beautiful place at Semporna. Please do not litter!!!

Pulau Sibuan is a tiny paradise island located in the eastern coasts of Sabah, Semporna. It is renowned for its clear marine park waters, making it a popular spot for snorkeling and diving. The island boasts white sandy beaches and turquoise waters that attract visitors to this beautiful paradise.
It’s such amazing place for islet, there is a lot of trees and coconut tree. There is a sandbank to take pictures and we can swim here. After taking pictures, we will go to a farer place and start snorkeling. Too many fishes, the water is clear and clean.

Beautiful beach, clear waters, lots of fishes if you want to snorkel. The beach is rather clean, there is a bit of plastic waste washed up on the shore, but it is cleaned and maintained by Park regularly. There are tables and benches under shady trees to rest at as well.

Small island with white sand (during my visit after rain, the sand still not dry and show the true color). During low tide, the sandbar will emerge. We were having lunch here, the weather was not good during my visit, before we reached here, it was raining badly. Such a scary moment for me as it was my first time in the boat during stormy weather in the middle of ocean. I couldn't enjoy the blue clear crystal ocean water. The guide told us that it is not safe to play at the shore here because many sting rays hidden underneath the sand. The guide bring us for snorkeling around the island edge. The corals here are beautiful but becareful, please wear snorkeling shoes. Too many sea urchins. Having said that, I was really sad seeing a lot of rubbish on the island. People who visit this island left their food containers, water bottles, plastic, etc around. Please do something, save the island and the ocean that we have before its too late. SAVE OUR OCEAN & ISLANDS! I will give 5 stars if it wasn't because of the garbages.

Superb. Beautiful beach and crystal-clear water. Would have been been better if the Park Management does a routine clean up of plastics waste & debris that are washed ashore

Amazing Island Cafe, located in Semporna, Sabah, offers a delightful array of beverages such as their refreshing mango + sago and avocado + sago. These delectable options come with the choice of sago or without it, priced at rm9 and rm8 respectively. While some may find the prices to be quite steep, others consider them to be worth every penny. Additionally, this cafe is renowned for serving the best Teh Tarik throughout Malaysia.
I really love their mango + sago and avocado + sago 🥭🥑 with sago, the price is rm9. without sago is rm8. quite expensive actually

We had two smoothies and fried bananas with cheese, which were good. However, they didn't have more than half of the food on their menu (at 2pm!) and when I went to pay the bill, they told me the fried bananas were more expensive than the price mentioned on all of the menus. They obviously don't care about customer satisfaction. I would not go there again.

I tried the cafe and not the rooms. Cappuccino was served very hot, which I like, but barely any foam as it should be. The sandwich was supposed to be with beef bacon, but it seems more like a slice of chicken ham instead. Yet, it is edible.

Spent 3 nights there during a recent trip. Rooms are cozy and rates are very reasonable. Decent food. The place is within walking distance to the pier and there are many restaurants around. Highly recommended.
John Lee — Google review
The room is quite good. It's clean, has hot water, AC and great WiFi. However, the water pump is super noisy every time someone in the hotel showers... enough to wake you up. So don't plan on sleeping past 6:00-6:30. The breakfast is what brings the score down. It was awful... and made a few hours before served (seemingly delivered from elsewhere, as it was dropped on my plate in a tied up plastic bag!?). It was dry and a luke warm chicken wing with rice. The dish tasted of nothing, absolutely nothing! I took only one bite and didn't dare touch the room temperature chicken. The coffee matched the food, by being completely undrinkable, as it was super weak. The staff did nothing to help the situation when I told them. One would think in a café, coffee can be easily remade and my food easily replaced, but they were not interested at all. It wasn't a language barrier, as one of the ladies translated for the two others. Just lazy and more interested in chatting together and checking their cellphones.

One of the better guesthouses with cafe to stay in Semporna. It is new, clean, strong Wi-Fi, strong aircon, the staff was attentive and warm. The location is great - not a noisy area, and there's seafood eating place across. Your booking comes with a breakfast and a hot brewed coffee. The one thing I liked about my stay are the pillows. Then Wang Seafood Restaurant is a budget-friendly dining spot with an extensive menu offering fresh seafood dishes. Despite the affordable prices, the restaurant is located in a noisy and polluted area near the road, which can detract from the overall dining experience. However, customers appreciate the excellent customer service and recommend arriving early to avoid long queues.
In terms of taste and price, Then Wang Restaurant wins! You really must give this restaurant a try, you won't regret it. The prices are clearly stated and the lovely staff will patiently recommend you their best dishes. Highly recommended.

I like this restaurant because: 1. One of the best customer service among the restaurants at town Center 2. Good customer service and not rude. 3. Must arrive before 6.30pm for dinner to avoid long queue. 3. Fresh seafood but limited choice. However, price a bit high which similar to the rest near fresh market area.
Darren Lim — Google review
The food taste is above average. And the price is definitely on the low side as compared to west Malaysia (e.g KL or Penang). We ordered 4 dishes (dry butter prawn, fried squid, claypot tofu, and garlic eggplant) and it only cost RM71.50. Another good thing is, they actually listed all the price for each dishes in their menu. So you can order based on your budget. The only downside is the atmosphere, the traffic here is bad, and the noise from those vehicles are annoying. There is also foul smells coming from the drain besides the restaurant. I would recommend try to pick a table at the inner side of the restaurant to avoid this unpleasant experience. Overall, if you are searching for good food with cheap price, this is definitely a place to try.

If not for the location of this restaurant I will give it 5 star but due to the pollution we are inhaling from the car 🚗 fumes while dining it’s not fun , it’s congested area . This time we just ordered from the tank , fresh prawn and clams , noodle for 2 person .. total bill was rm47 , the cheapest of all dinner I had at Semporna. Service is good 👍🏻 taste wise I like the prawn 🦐

6 out of 5! Salt & pepper mantis prawn is a must! Salted egg crab taste good, but meat was shrinked down abit. Sabah vege (sayur manis) is very good. Price is the cheapest compared to restaurants among that area.

I went to this restaurant four nights in a row! That butter sauce, oh my. You pay for seafood by weight. I was opting for ~300g for the prawns and ~500g for molluscs. There's fresh and frozen pricing. I think it was 150RM for fresh prawns and 100RM for frozen. Very friendly staff one in particular helped me select options as I'm a newbie to ordering by weight. Veggies were great as well. That blended lime ice drink was delicious!

The serve fresh seafood. The taste is good as well totally different way of seasoning comparing to West Malaysia. The crab is quite small but okay to eat as they season the crab quite well. The food like char keuy teow and nasi goreng is very delicious.

Food is just so sothe soysauce they use taste weird so the steamed geoduck with vercemilli and steam crab with egg white taste are largely spoiled by the soysauce. The shop is quite dodgy. Price in menu might not reflect actual cost. I ordered 3 coconuts which in the menu showed rm6, but they charge me rm7, upon query, they told me that the coconut i ordered was fragrant type and not the normal type, but there is no differential coconut pricing. The 2 crabs that they serve doesnt look like it is 1kg but they charge us full 1kg. Initially they charged gst without proper billing, only after i questioned their gst charge, they give me a pos receipt. I normally give benefits of doubt, but 3 incidents seems to be too much of a coincidence. There were cats around the restaurant which the staff and owner just let it roam in the restaurant. The cats keep harassing us, and even climb up to the chair while we are eating and up to the table when we are almost done eating (but we are still eating!). For those who are allergic to cats, a definitely nono. I wont recommend eating here, unless there is nothing else to eat.

So far this place was my favourite, they surve seafood with reasonable price. Service was good, yoy don't really wait long for your dishes. You can choose fresh seafood at the aquarium and can ask for recommendations from the staff. The owner very friendly. Dishes cook very well. Afternoon not to crowded compared to evening. Some people need to stand and waiting for turns. Average one person spending around : Rm20-40 For a group of 3persons we spending ard Rm 87.00 depending what fresh seafood you order.

Food is good actually.tho I feel other stores is cheaper. Theirs is bigger in portion rm26 for small,rm32 for medium. Rm280 for mantis prawn 1kg. Some recommended their 海胆蛋 but we didn't try. Where else you can wish for the best seafood next to the Jetty Semporna if not this Seaview Restaurant. Good food. Great taste. Value for money. Fresh seafood. Amazing cook. And super fast service. Everytime in back to Semporna this is one of my recommended restaurant to enjoy seafood. Don't compare with resort food as its located in the mainland itself.... But trust me this restaurant really good in the best quality of taste and way of their cooking. So far we never had any complain from my clients and I myself really enjoy their amazing seafood here. Nasi Kandar Al-Farisha, located under Seafest Hotel, is a popular spot known for its delicious roti and 24-hour service. It's a go-to place for locals and tourists alike, especially when introducing foreign friends to local cuisine. The menu features must-try items like Roti Canai with egg and cheese, Maggi Mee Goreng, and the intriguing Roti Tisu that never fails to impress visitors.
Travelling with foreign friends, I usually brings them here to try the 'local food'. The Roti Canai is very nice, especially the Roti Canai with egg and cheese. Even the plan roti canai is nice too. My friends also ordered Maggi Mee Goreng, tasty and delicious. Also ordered Roti Tisu, it is a fun-eat, tasty and 'conversation starter' kind of item, especially with foreigners. We ordered Seafood Tom Yam, it is tasty but too 'spicy'. Our bill came to nearly RM150 for 6 persons but that is because 3 friends ordered take-out of 15 plain roti canai and 15 roti cheese telur! Staff is also very good and friendly, despite our many orders and adds-on, she can remembers all our orders without writing down and even serves the correct items to all!
