Restaurant
Dom José is a recently renovated restaurant located on the ground floor of a house at one of the entrances to Bombarral. The restaurant offers modern comfort and a great selection of wines. It has limited space, so reservations are recommended, especially in the summer. Known for its fantastic family-run service and Michelin mention, it offers amazing dishes such as codfish, tuna, black pork, beef, and pork with a wonderful smoky flavor. The customer service is attentive without being overbearing.
Reservation highly recommended. Very good local food, friendly service and good wines. All reasonably priced considering this is a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant.

A Portuguese cuisine with very generous homemade dishes. The owners are extremely friendly and welcomed us very well. It's one of the places where we ate best during our stay. We will definitely come back!

We can only give dom jose 5 stars. the best fish and steak dish we have had in portugal for a long time. can only be recommended....but remember to book a table....and very nice English speaking staff....

Fantastic family run Michelin rated place near the bus station in Bombarral. We stopped here for lunch on the way to Buddha Eden Garden and had the pork and the beef both of which were great. The beef almost melted in your mouth and the pork had a wonderful smoky flavour as though it has been barbecued. We had the biscuit cake for dessert which I would thoroughly recommend. Customer service was great, attentive without being overbearing. I will definitely return if in the area. They also make hand made chocolate truffles and chilli oils. We bought the lime chocolate truffles which were delicious!

Amazing Service! The food was also more than delicious and on an incredible high level but the staff was really outstanding. We had a really lovely evening

I am a repeat customer and don’t know how I haven’t reviewed this divine restaurant, but it was time to do so now. From the service to the food, everything consistently is amazing! They have a great selection of wine as well. Specially in the summer one must reserve. as this restaurant has very limited space. They are Michelin mentioned and there is a good reason for that. I have had several dishes here and this time with friends, we had codfish, tuna and black pork. We all walked away very happy!

Good restaurant , we tested the Bacalao with fried potatoes, it was delicious. The waiter was more simpatic !

Wonderful atmosphere overlooking local vineyards with lovely staff and great menu with interesting choices. Nice wine list as well. We also had shrimp, Lingueirão clams and linguiça for starters. Really delicious.

Lovely place to have a peaceful, romantic meal!! The food was all perfect and very teasing! And the employees were very nice always asking if everything was good 🌟 I advise you to choose 1 dish per person because 1 serving will be little for two.

Very enjoyable evening, loving restaurant, great atmosphere, vegetables over cooked for my taste. Also the the potatoes sliced like chips wouldn't be our choice with meal. Other wise we enjoyed our first experience at the restaurant

Great restaurant, where come change to the typical rustic Portuguese restaurant, a very modern interpretation very well executed. Third visit, and every time it was very good

The Filet mignon was tender and delicious, on request the cooked English Chips for us instead of serving crisp. The mini meat pies for entree were very tasty. The local wine 🍷 very palatable an matched the food choices well. The restaurant is on 3 floors up on booking staff advised to go to the toilet prior to our visit as facilities could only be accessed by steep stairs. Waiter was friend, he had to go up and down steps to reach us. Would eat here again.

A nice place, cosy and well decorated. Friendly staff, tasty meals and good choice of wines. The desserts were also plenty and good.

The fact that we arrived early allowed us to overcome the inconvenience of not having made a reservation. From then on, it was an impeccable culinary journey. Friendliness, efficiency, and top-notch quality in all the dishes deserve a five-star rating. This dining establishment is situated in Bombarral, approximately 80km away from Lisbon, reachable within an hour by car. It is conveniently close to Bacalhoa Buddha Eden.
This is quite big place with delicious food and admirable staff. I was amazed how the staff was ‘running’ around every table even when the restaurant was full. You should try it because they make delicious and fresh food here and the staff here is professional. We will come here again.

The food and service were nice. I had a tuna stake that was very tasty and a chocolate dessert that was a mind blowing. Also, the prices are very descent. I payed 15 Euros with main dish, entree, wine and dessert.

This restaurant is located in the city of Bombarral, about 80km from Lisbon, 1 hour by car, it is very close to the Bacalhôa Buddha Eden. Fantastic, tasty and homemade food. Try the meats, you won't regret it. Desserts also follow the same quality. The service was perfect, we had to wait a bit in the anteroom because it was crowded, but it was worth the wait. On weekends I recommend booking a table between 12h and 13h or going to the restaurant from 14h onwards so the chances are greater of having tables available.

The food here is incredible. The atmosphere is lively and the restaurant is clean and beautiful. Not much in the way of vegetarian, (at least on the day we were there). Our waitress, Tatiana, was very helpful and kind and she even spoke English with us which was unexpected and greatly appreciated! Her recommendations were excellent. We loved this place and will go back soon! 5 stars!

Went to this restaurant during our two week vacation in Portugal and can't stop thinking about its delicious food. We went to various restaurants during our travels including the Algarve and Lisbon, and this one was our favourite. . For dinner our party of 3 tried the meat and fish dishes and all outstanding! Victor our server was friendly and very welcoming.

We visited Restaurant and were very happy with the menu which was explained to us by a member of staff whose English was excellent. We are from Ireland. All in all a great experience with food service and staff.

Excellent food and great service. I recommend the Espetado Atlantic and The chocolate mousse for dessert. Went twice with my family in less than one week and everyone was impressed with this restaurant and food.
Joe Carvalho — Google review
An ok place, food is tasty and good portions. Staff is very friendly.
Emanuel Rodrigues — Google review
The picture depicted in google is of a different, very quaint, establishement, not ot Zelia. The restaurant is overpriced, for the quality, service and atmosphere. One of the staple dishes, bochechas a lagareiro, has too much, almost burnt garlic. The white rice and meat croquetes were good. Unfortunately there are much better options for portuguese food in the area. I do not recommend.
Filomena Garcia — Google review
The meat (Tranche de novilho) was like a rubber unfortunately, absolutely not Portuguese style: no taste old piece of meat. Bochechas (Blackburn pig cheeks) were nothing special. Same the dessert. And all is not cheap btw. The only plus is that the portions are really huge

Forno do Avô is a highly recommended restaurant with excellent food and top-notch service. The meals are of exceptional quality and served generously. The bread they offer is simply outstanding, truly remarkable. With affordable prices, this place is perfect for those looking to enjoy a delicious meal without breaking the bank. However, it's important to note that the restaurant can get very busy, so it's wise to plan your visit accordingly.
Amazing place. The food is fabulous and very tasty. The plate is served FULL. If you come here get ready to leave with a few stones on. The staff is very polite and friendly. I highly recommend this place.

Found this little restaurant after visiting the winery in town as it was already/ still open. Service was great & friendly. Food was lovely and inexpensive.

After visiting the Budha park, we were looking for a place close by to have lunch. This restaurant came up on the search and we decided (based on the reviews) to give it a try. Since we walked in the we felted we did the right choice. Everyone was so happy and friendly, from staff to even the clients. As we sit down, the staff started coming to help us and served us, and the service was very fast. Got some colouring pages for the girls to paint and that made the time fly by so fast for them. The food was outstanding, the soup (fish soup) was probably the best I have ever had, it was so good. The main dish was served in a big and full plate. We had hard time finishing everything, and the owner came by asking us if we wanna more😲 The desserts was so fresh and delicious, and they even gave us a "Ginja" to top up the amazing experience. Hardly recommend this restaurant, we'll be back for sure when around the area.

This restaurant is fine if you want to eat without spending to much. The service is good and the people are nice. The prices are very low. Be careful with the hours because this place is very crowded. If you want to eat something simple with a low budget, this Is the place.

Restaurante Supatra is a hidden gem located in the countryside and wine district of Portugal. The owner, Umberto, warmly welcomes guests while Supatra works her magic in the kitchen, preparing authentic Thai dishes with love and dedication. Visitors rave about the excellent lunch options, including spring rolls and shrimp toast for starters, followed by flavorful entrees like beef and Pad Thai.
Passed by chance in front this Thai restaurant in the countryside and we decided to make a U turn. That was a great idea! Humberto was very friendly and Supatra a great cook. Such a pleasure to eat authentic Thai food with charming songs and such neat place. Kop khoun ma la krap!

The best thai restaurant in the region, they are willing to prepare something special for you. Depends of your taste they adjust spicy or not. They have excellent range of wines for reasonable prices, because they have limited kichen capacity, ( the Thai owner is cooking by herself)it’s necessary to make reservations in advance and come on time, because they count on you, if you make a reservation, the quality is ultra fresh and they have a great hospitality, my favourite is the fried fish, but today they prepared a fresh seabream with lemongrass and a on request fresh vegetables dish with bean sprouts, it was amazing dinner. , i’ll book in advance for next week.

We had a lovely lunch yesterday at Supatra Restaurante Thai near Bombarral. Wonderful Thai food in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend! We were lucky to walk in and be seated without reservations. We only saw a handful of tables; so we definitely plan to call ahead for our next visit.
Tom Denham III — Google review
This is a must stop every time I visit Portugal, more than once. We basically can have one of every entree, this is the best Thai food I've ever eaten. Supatra is the chef and she is in the back cooking everything with love and hard work. I can't believe how she does it, but I always stop and say Thank You. Umberto, is in the front taking care of the customers and waiting on the tables. This is a gem in the middle of the countryside and wine district of the area. My daughter, who has Pad Thai everywhere she goes, says this is the best Pad Thai she's had and when we leave Portugal she misses Supatra's cooking. I certainly hope this sweet couple don't retire so we can be blessed with their restaurant.

It was an excellent experience dining at this Thai restaurant. The food was delicious, just like being back in Thailand, and the owner was very charming. I will definitely find an opportunity to come back again.

Our first visit to supatra. Food was DELICIOUS very enjoyable evening highly recommend
Owen Gregory — Google review
Excellent lunch, unlike several other reviews, owner very friendly and accommodating. Spring rolls and shrimp toast as appetizers, both very good. Friend had beef, I had Pad Thai, both excellent, cold Thai beer too. Only minor, minor criticism: Pad Thai loaded with shrimp, which was great, but I would have preferred they be de-headed with tails/shells removed (a few were but most were not); just make it easier to eat and less messy. Overall very good experience, will go back. Not cheap, not expensive especially considering food quality. PS Also wide variety (30-40) Thai products for sale at reasonable prices (rice noodles, chili and fish sauce, siracha, etc.).
