Mountain peak
Outdoor Activities
Zugspitze is a mountain peak in the Alps, situated in Bavaria and Austria. It is the highest mountain in Germany, and also one of the highest mountains in Europe. The mountain summit at 2834 meters above sea level offers stunning panoramic views over four countries: Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and Germany.
Amazing peak view to the glacier! Went there twice. The first time was foggy so not able to see such a beautiful view but did enjoy the snow. Luck that having this clear weather when we went the second time. Enjoy the snow sledding if you don’t ski.
Austin Han — Google review
Germany's highest point, with a stunning restaurant at the peak. This mountain 🏔️ is the boarder between Deutschland and Austria. Stunning snow views but too windy and freeze. The cable car that takes up to the peak makes for a surreal experience. Every tourist is entitled to the Garmisch Card, free public transport!
Aakash Christ — Google review
This place is amazing. The views are incredible. We took the cable car up to the top. The cable car does sway, but still a cool experience. From there we climb to the summit. It’s climb as your own risk, but worth it.
Trinedad M — Google review
Amazing day. The views are spectacular in every way and well worth a visit. Suggest go first thing as after 10am it gets very busy.
Paul MS — Google review
If you're a die hard, you will walk, hike and climb all the way to the top 😉 The hike is absolutely amazing and once you have reached the top the views are nothing but amazing. It is pretty crowded and make sure to get your ticket on time.
Sander Rijnders — Google review
Incredible. Easily the highlight of our trip. What a bunch of breath taking views. We took the cable car up and down from the summit. It is definitely worth the trip to go up. It was very reasonably priced for what you got. Just make sure (they tell you at least 5 times) to switch trains on the way up.
Jacqueline Zwack — Google review
Loved the experience! I went to Zugspitze to enjoy the picturesque view over mountains, and it was one of the most memorable trips. I took the cable car to go up, and then used another cable car to go down to ski slopes (you can use this one unlimited if you buy the standard adult ticket). Breathtaking views, few nice cafes on the top to go and enjoy a light snack/ meal or a coffee. Would really recommend, even if you aren’t a skier!
Anna — Google review
Absolutely beautiful views. The ride up to the top in the cable car is great as well. This was definitely a highlight to our trip to Bavaria.
Morgan Avery — Google review
Great experience and a must do even if you're not in the area. We went on a Tuesday right after Easter and it's was pretty empty as the temperature wasn't the best. We tried going the day before and it was PACKED. We would've had to park a town over and take a train so we decided to postpone to the next day. The attendant at the entrance was kind enough to switch our tickets as we were the only ones there. What an experience honestly. We were alone with the operator in the cabin and it was pretty nerve-wracking with the wind howling and the cabin swaying side to side. At the top it felt surreal, like on a different planet. My wife stayed inside as she was a bit scared. There's also a restaurant and a museum up there on how they constructed the whole thing which is pretty nice. Overall 100% worth it. Even my wife that was scared of heights and reluctant on going up loved it. The both of us will remember that that experience for a long time.

A beautiful view and highly recommend to visit the highest place in Germany 🇩🇪. Parking was easy and plenty, the ride up in the cable car was beautiful and the view at the top is a must see. Only thing I wish was different is that they would have student discounts, which they did not.
Koendert Kellner — Google review
Amazing views from a top. One of the view points were closed due to snow. But great family experience
Adnan Hakimji — Google review
Nice view and the lift to it is huge. I went up with the lift and went back by train to have both experience. The train wouldn’t be my choice again since it goes under the mountain for the majority of the time. But was interesting. On weekends gets very busy with 2 hours waiting time.
Cadu Garcia — Google review
I expected the great views but I was surprised by how cool the restaurant was. We enjoyed just hanging out for hours and eating and walking around soaking it all in.
Tim Parlier — Google review
The highest peak in German alps. Going there can be for more than just skiing. Take the cable car from Eibsee to enjoy the view of the alps and sit in the restaurant on top. You may also choose to walk around and (in winter) take a drink at the igloo bar and hotel. Definitely recommended in winter.
Rawad Bitar — Google review
A must when in the area! Also check out lake Eibsee at the bottom! Loved the experience! I went to Zugspitze to enjoy the picturesque view over mountains, and it was one of the most memorable trips. Such an amazing experience to be at the summit. The views are incredible and it is rather cold so be sure to bring a jacket. The cable car ride up was fun. The little chapel - Maria Heimsuchung at the top was impressive. The Gletschergarten restaurant is really good.
S D — Google review
The views are spectacular in every way and well worth a visit. The train saves a lot of time, and the cable car gives a spectacular view
Arun Sarma — Google review
A must! It's quite expensive (136 euros for 2 persons, no discount with the tourist or visitors card they give you at the hotel), but we think it's totally worth it. The views are magnificent, there are excellent infrastructures (cafés, restrooms, souvenir shops) and you can "hop" on Austria for a little bit. We brought a light jacket, but it was not cold (12°C, but with the sun and all the people, it seemed warmer). It's beautiful, and you can easily spend 2h here or even longer if you intend to climb to the summit or hike around the viewing platform. Highly recommended! 👌👌👌
André Marques — Google review
Gorgeous view at the top. Go first thing in the morning to avoid the masses and traffic. The ride up was easy and quick. Enjoyed a nice cup of coffee at the top. It was a tad pricey but hey it's a tourist destination.
Chuck Kinney — Google review
Was incredibly fun. Last lift at 4:15 pm and there are lifts every 10-15 mins or so. It gets very windy but it has an incredible view

My kids absolutely loved this place either great ⛷️ experience and cable car. We spent an entire day here and on way back took the cog wheel train ... definitely recommended for anyone.

Amazing place, don't miss it! Cost us 64E return, but the trip is breathtaking and the views are incredible. The cafe is good too.
Brenton B — Google review
Take the chance to visit Germany’s last glacier. We took the gondola up and the train down. The restaurant offers nice food and drinks and you even have the chance to use sledges for free.
Alex Bahlk — Google review
Nice place to experience snow in summer. There are 3 different round trips which take you to 3 different places. The star of the place is the summit. From the starting point, get down at eibsee and take a rope car. It's the short and scenic route. Here restaurants are available. You can have nice food with scenic views. Then next to the valley where you can play in snow. Slides and snow mobiles are available for rental. Suggest not to take train from eibsee to aummit.
Krishnamoorthi venkatasamy — Google review
Make sure u go on a day with nice weather or u will see absolutely nothing up there lol The ticket is £62 pp but includes all kind of transportation so make sure to try them all!
Annika Shi — Google review
Very nice experience. Beautiful view. Only a little disappointment with the train, we were hoping that we would have some nice views too so I suggest to use cable car 🚠 in both ways.

Very interesting place to visit in the Bavarian Alps. Visited in the end of March, still quite cold and abundant snow. I would suggest taking the cog wheel train up, then the cable car back to Garmisch. Check the weather forecasts/cameras for best views and dress accordingly. Have a bier and a strudel at 10,000 feet!
Patrick Kennedy — Google review
Great place to visit, highest peak in Germany at 2962m with amazing views from the top. The cable car ride up to the top was pretty amazing itself (can't be scared of heights). Has a restaurant at the top to grab a bite to eat and enjoy the views.
Tal Layne — Google review
Luckily it was snowing and an amazing experience, loved it and the ticket price for an adult for one day for the highest peak cost around 62 euros
Virendra M Patil — Google review
Top of Germany. What a lovely view from top. The whole experience to visit this place is awesome. The journey by train and cable car is one of the best. Best organisation of the whole experience by Zugspitzbahn. There is a small museum at the top about how this whole thing was built. Also they have kept all the old things in the museum and it’s free to visit. They explain the mechanism of the cogwheel train.

Eibsee is a beautiful mountain lake located at the foot of Zugspitze Mountain in Bavaria, Germany. The clear waters are inviting and perfect for swimming in the summer months. In addition to its beauty, Eibsee is also a popular hiking destination with a popular loop that includes a lake side restaurant.
Beautiful place with stunning views. You can comfortably hike around the lake in a couple of hours! We went in winter when most of the lake was frozen but was still a sight to behold!
Bhavin Chandarana — Google review
Stunning scenery! I was there on a rainy day in September 2022. I walked around the lake and took lots of photos. There are viewing spots, benches and litter bins , to enjoy the view, rest and also keep the nature clean.
Mihaela R — Google review
It is located at the foot of the Zugspitze. This lake's water is clear, emerald-green. We were amazed to see the stunning views of the surrounding mountains. We enjoyed our lunch on the bank of this beautiful river. You can swim here but the water is too cold. You can rent boats and paddle boats on Eibsee. This is a great way to explore the lake and see the surrounding mountains.
Nimesh Dedhia — Google review
Walking around the lake, enjoying its cold water. I walked more around 15 km and it is my personal record I guess for a day. It is all because of the extremely beautiful lake view. Konigsee is still my best 🙃
Mustafa Dogan — Google review
Outstanding view, 7km walk around the lake, easy hiking. We went there using traditional train. If you have DB ticket, you have discount on roundtrip usinf train cost 7 Euros per person.
Saji — Google review
It’s beautiful, you can go in all the seasons and all of them are awesome. I post some pictures from Autumn. The only problem is the parking but after waiting 30 min you will get a spot. The walking tour is around 2h and a half and you can take a swim.
Imanol Chamorro — Google review
A beautiful lake one hour from Munich, with spectacular views, took us 3 hours to go around the lake, benches are available to sit and enjoy the view or have a little bite to eat. The track was not hard with a few uphills but the rest was pretty flat. I truly recommend it.
MARJAN MANOUCHEHRI — Google review
The most beautiful lake I have ever seen in mountains. I can compare its turquisecolour of waters to Plitvice Lakes. The walk around the lake took over 3 hours for our group 4 to 47 years old people but the omly reason "why so long" is we had to stop every few meters to make a picture or check the sound of bouncing pebble by dropping it to frozen lake. We had big fun admiring the views and brathing clean air a specially it was easy to walk there - almost all the time flat terrain. Even people with baby carts were faster than us ;)
Marta G — Google review
Have been there always in warmer weather until last week. It is great walk around the lake, beautiful landscape and breathtaking nature views. Love the colours of the lake, easy walk.

Just incredible top to button. Cog wheel train, + 4.5 km tunnel experience, Great Alps mountain range view from top , then large Cable Car, Elbsee lake (crystal clear water that I have ever seen + boating is just mesmerising and awesome view. Restaurants , ice , cafe is having normal rate.
SUMAN KABI — Google review
Stunning lake in Bavaria 😍 Absolutely gorgeous views and easy hike path. Parking is very expensive if you are going to stay a short time (8€ no matter how many hours), but if you are going to spend the whole day is not a big deal.
Patricia Martinez — Google review
Beautiful is an understatement. It’s mesmerizing from top of Zugspitze and equally gorgeous when you walk down to lake. Calm, clean and picturesque. There is a lot you can do near around like hiking, walking and sitting back and relaxation. On busy days parking can be a challenge as it’s overcrowded being next to Zugspitze. All in all a must visit place.

Must have when you are in Bavaria. Definitely arrive very early, otherwise the lake is very crowded. Swimming is allowed (15 degree). You can also visit Zugspitze right away. Amazing!
Susanne Menzel — Google review
Beautiful lake. It is quite touristy during the summers. But the view is worth it. There are water activities and can also take the cable car upto zugspite . You need a whole day to explore this place . Either one day trips or stay in a lodge.

A very nice lake, the water is all clean that you can actually see the bottom! Recommend to take the boat in into the lake, Otherwise you might not see the true beauty of the Eibsee.
Anjie Qiu — Google review
Wonderful lake absolutely worth visiting! You can go around lake or swim in it. I recommend to arrive earlier because after 12:00 there is a huge line of cars trying to find a parking lot. We arrived at 8:30 and always found a spot

Beautiful lake! If you're attempting the loop trail, start counter clockwise for the best views (start at the restaurant). The 2nd half of trail is mostly trees

Eibsee is an absolute must-visit for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Surrounded by towering mountains and lush forests, the crystal-clear waters of Eibsee create a mesmerizing scene that's straight out of a postcard. Its a perfect spot to relax and soak in the breathtaking views.

A very beautiful place! Be sure to climb the Zugspitze mountain, where you get for about 3 euros (maybe more expensive) into gorges where it’s simply unrealistically beautiful, but be aware that it’s cold and rainy there

Just beautiful and calming. Well worth the 6 euro per hour car park. All facilities to the highest standard and reasonable. Will be back!
Gareth Phillips — Google review
This is a few hours away from Munich. It is recommended to leave early for this place because the roads get pretty congested. The place is famous for its glass-like lake and the hiking trail that goes alongside. There is also a cable car that closes registrations at 12 PM. Make it to this cable car as it takes you to the highest point in Germany. It is recommended to buy tickets in advance if possible.
Balasubramanian G — Google review
Beautiful 🤩 -I really recommend you come here from early morning, you would want to spend your day there. -its a 1hour 30 min drive from munich city center -or you can take the train which takes around 2 -3hours -You must pass by if you’re visiting Munich You can walk around the lake for around 2 hours if want to go for a semi hike . You can sit in the restaurant and enjoy a good meal if you just wanted to enjoy the nature. You can take the cable car 🚠 or the train 🚂 to go to the Zugspitze. There are options of all day ticket for around 60 euros where you can go up and back military times. If you want to go skiing they have shops where you can rent the equipment just before you reach the cable car station.

The new observation deck AlpspiX offers panoramic mountain & valley views from a protrusion on the side of Alpsspitz mountain. It is accessed by two steel footbridges that cross each other in the shape of an X. The view is especially fantastic from its 25-meter offset position between sky and valley below.
Fantastic nature 👌 Upper ski paths are amazing, lower aren't good prepared. Probably the artificial snow is not good as normal snow. View from top is absolutely amazing. Prices are little higher, service could be better.

Amazing for sunrises. You need to plan 3 hours of ascent (2 if your trained) and then can watch the sun rise. Definitely worth it. Can be quiet packed during weekends, keep that in mind when planning your trip.

Was kinda amazed by how this thing got built up in the first place. Go there for a fun and shaky experience. Plenty of easy hike routes available starting from the top. Get a Garmisch Classic Ticket, take the Alpspitzbahn to the top first and hike down via a partial route that suits your plan. The Kreuzeckbahn is the last part of the cable car that can take you down.

The AlpspiX viewing platform gives visitors an incredible panoramic view from an eagle’s perspective so to speak – the steel platform does sit over a thousand-metre drop. I took a cable car to Kreuzeckbahn and hiked all the way to Hochalmbahn and reached Alpspitzbahn. The view is absolutely stunning!!

After an exciting ride up the cable car we enjoyed spectacular views not only out over the town and valley but as far as Amersee. We enjoyed a bit coffee in the cafe too
Bob Cooper — Google review
The Alpspix offers a unique experience to be apart of nature and celebrate the views of the surrounding area. I’d highly recommend it if the visibility is decent. We took the Kreuzeckbahn up, then hiked about 30 minutes to Hochalm and because it was a little warm for us we decided to ride the Hochalmbahn vs hiking the rest of the way to the Alpspix. Absolutely stunning views the whole way up and down. Restaurants at the stops of the bahns.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Zugspitze. The rooms (single and double) were big, bright, clean, and with very comfortable beds. The views are really pretty. Breakfast has all you might want, and everything is fresh. Staff is attentive and nice. Finally, the hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance of the center of Garmisch. We can't wait to go back.

We have just checked out of this beautiful hotel. It really deserves a higher score than 5 stars. The quality of the room and lounge areas, and the dining were exemplary. But our lasting impression will always be the friendly and attentive staff especially Danuta on the front desk who could not have been more helpful. Our only regret was the fact we couldn’t have stayed longer. A great hotel.

Had a wonderful 3 nights stay at Hotel Zugspitze. Great breakfast with lots of choices. There is no better way to start your day than on the beautiful sun filled terrace. Complimentary coffee and cake in the afternoon was also wonderful. Staff was exceptional and went above and beyond to make our stay as positive as possible. Beds (and pillows!) were extremely comfortable. Location is great and the local bus (free with your guest card) can bring you to the hiking areas within a short drive. Lots of restaurants nearby. Can’t wait to revisit!

I can highly recommend this hotel to stay in Garmisch. The staff will make you feel like at home and they really do go above and beyond for each and every guest. Hotel is well maintained and has a really nice Alphotel vibe. All in all it was a perfect stay for 2 nights. When we go again to Garmisch, we know that we’re staying again here!

Our stay was amazing. Gorgeous hotel in an ideal location. You walk out the front door to an amazing view of the Alps, and only a few blocks from the downtown area where there are any number of shops and restaurants. We had a large group of 10 that required four rooms. My wife and I and our two kids, ages 9 and 11, stayed in a room that had a queen bed and pull out double sofa. The beds were very comfortable. The room and bathroom were good size. Only negative was that there was no A/C, but it cooled down with the windows open at night. We were greeted to an amazing breakfast every morning. The staff was extremely friendly. The pool area was small but very nice, as was the sauna room. The food was amazing. Each night our entire family gathered in the lounge and were served beer and champagne where we rehashed our daily excursions. I would highly, highly recommend this hotel.
David Ambrosh — Google review
Excellent location to the Altstadt. Super views. The water is hot and the beds are hard but sufficient. The WiFi is terrible and doesn’t have enough bandwidth to stream. A non smoking room but everyone smokes on the Balkon making the rooms around them fill with smoke. BEWARE parking is tight. Pool is nice. The hot tub is not hot, more like a lukewarm tub. When leaving the rope to allow you to leave the tiefgarage doesn’t work for the red light green light system.
Sunny McKaig — Google review
Absolutely loved this hotel: the generous rooms; the lovely staff; the outstanding breakfasts; the wellness centre - and especially the restaurant - best in Bavaria! Everything perfect. Maybe better bed pillows.
Anthony Parry — Google review
Everything about this hotel is wonderful! The rooms are clean, well-appointed, and modernized with breathtaking views of the Zugspitze mountain. Service is super friendly and always eager to help. Breakfast is delicious with lots of options. The hotel is conveniently located where you can walk to many downtown restaurants, shops, or the local Christmas market. If there was one minor quibble, it would be the gym hours. Opening at 8:00 is a bit late, especially for those who want to exercise before starting the day. That aside, I'd rebook this place in a heartbeat if/when I visit Garmisch again!

Large room well equipped with coffee brew, dinner table, sofa and complementary water. Large bathroom for a family group. Amazing view from to the mountains. Breakfast was definitely a plus! Lovely mountain hotel, has a great experience, staff was super friendly! Great room, comfy bed! Only downfall was that the hot tub was not working for my 2 night stay. Otherwise excellent place and would stay there again! Also, within walking distance to a bunch of shops and restaurants.

Höllentalklamm, also known as the Hell Valley gorge or Hollental Valley, is a unique natural wonder located just six kilometers southwest of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The gorge features hiking paths that lead through deep ravines with waterfalls, ice chunks, bridges, and tunnels. Visitors can follow trails to the summit at 1,045 meters and explore numerous tunnels and bridges along the way.
This is an excellent trip! We took around 3.5 hours for round trip, from Hammersbach. We are not familiar with that region and did not do enough research about this plan. So we went with raincoat and water, but without any snack because we were staying pretty close to the starting point and underestimated the route. I am not an experienced hiker and with low to moderate fitness . I would think that this is an moderately challenging route and achievable by most people including very motivated young children. The path is very beautiful, and quite wet per other other review. Instead of having return trip (start and end at same point), I would suggest start and end at different points. Entrance fees or €6 is reasonable, because they maintain the path pretty well. Please prepare coins for the toilet break at the park entrance too.
Eyogurt — Google review
Amazing and exciting gorge! Wild gorge, with many tunnels and surprises. It was a hot day and the water drops were very refreshing! So glad it is in Europe and not in the US that would probably close it for insurance reasons. Also nice that it is not as accessible as other gorges because requires some walking. It means that it is less crowded. You cn go up and down with the same ticket, just keep the receipt to show it on your way out. If it is on your way down from one of the higher trails, you will still need to pay when going out. Fee is cash only - 6 Euro for adult. Tiny lovely cafe in the entrance - take a hot drink or a soup after this thrilling gorge. Highly, highly, highly recommend! Don't miss it!

Wow wow wow. What an experience. Simply stunning. It’s a long day out and lots of walking, but it’s so worth it. The path in the gorge is well maintained. They only take cash. Just do it!
Rob Johnstone — Google review
The Höllentalklamm (Hell Valley Gorge) is one of the most spectacular sights in the German Alps. It is a challenging (medium difficulty) ascent for intermediate hikers only. It will likely take 3-3.5hrs round-trip. On a rainy or icy day I can imagine the conditions would be particularly slippery and even wetter. In general a waterproof is advisable, but I enjoyed the light showering of water runoff so went without waterproof clothing and was fine (on a sunnier day). After the upfront hiking effort, you will be richly rewarded once you reach the gorge itself, with its array of spectacular views on offer. Another benefit is it's *much* less crowded and touristy than nearby Partnachklamm. The entrance fee here is only a few euros. A cash-only restaurant/pub at the gorge entrance (Höllentalangerhütte) will see you supplied with decent food and drink (bier on offer, of course). And there's a toilet available, as well as a small museum detailing the gorge's heritage. I would describe it as a more exhilarating and dynamic Partnach. Well worth a visit if you can commit to the trek.

Höllentalklamm is a breathtaking natural wonder that promises an unforgettable experience! Located in the Bavarian Alps, this gorge offers a thrilling adventure with its narrow pathways, roaring waterfalls, and stunning rock formations. The hike through the gorge is both challenging and rewarding, making it ideal for nature enthusiasts and avid hikers. The trail is well-marked and safe, ensuring a memorable journey for all ages. The surrounding scenery is simply awe-inspiring, making it a photographer's paradise. Whether you're seeking an adrenaline-pumping hike or a serene escape into nature, Höllentalklamm has it all. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area and looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of the German Alps!

Very nice gorge, worth visiting. An easy 45 minutes hike from town (all uphill) to get there. There's a small restaurant on top at the entrance. Tickets are €5 (cash only). The hike along the gorge is about 1km long and also mostly uphill, but with stairs and tunnels. Prepare to get wet, as plenty of water trickle down through the path.

Breathtaking gorge, with towering cliffs and waterfalls, giving access to the beautiful Höllental plateau and some of Germany's most epic hikes

Great place to visit. No special skills required but good hiking boots and warm clothes. It's quite chilly on the way.

Great experience walking through the gorge! Started the hike from Hammersbach bus stop and up to the gorge. The entry cost is €6 for adults. Make sure to wear a rain jacket and water proof shoes if you don't want to get wet from water falling over you from above. The narrow cave paths were not lit (probably due to an electricity issue), so I had to use my phone camera.

Skip Parnach if your fitness can do it. This was 20x better. Blown away by running through caves and the views. The restaurant on top is cash only. Bring some. 100 percent as good or better then a lot of hikes in Glacier.

Beautiful and amazing place to hike and visit. I enjoyed every bit of it. Nice water fall and gorge. Costs 6€. Was less tourists. Must visit place and highly recommend.
Mohammad Fasihullah — Google review
A gorgeous gorge! The hiking there is a little bit more advanced than in Partnachklamm, but still relatively easy. There is a toilet right next to the entrance, but make sure to bring a 50 cent coin for it.
Batman Frog — Google review
This is a beautiful and nice gorge. I didn't finish the trail because I had limited time. So I just started hiking from Hammersbach bus stop and I did hike and enjoy the amazing nature surrounding. The trail is easy but it is wet and slippery. Please wear hiking boots and if you have hiking pole, that would be great. It is more beautiful in Autumn (around October). Recommended for nature lovers.

The Jägerstüberl restaurant is a cozy, alpine-style eatery that serves up traditional specialties. The staff consistently provides excellent service and the food is of high quality. The portion sizes are generous, often leaving patrons unable to finish their plates. The value for money is definitely worth the trip to this establishment, making it deserving of a 5-star rating. Additionally, if the weather permits, guests can enjoy dining outdoors.
Very delicious en fast service would definitely recommend it. Tip: if you wanna finish all your dinner, do not order soup before 😁 portions are massive 🤤

-The foods taste good. - they have German foods and also have Crostia foods. - Some dish is too salty in my opinion. -The staffs are very friendly and nice. They don't even hesitate to wrap our foods which can't finish because it's a lot for us. -They don't have an English menu but they can speak English and can suggest you the dishes. -They have many tables inside and outside available for you. -The decorations and atmosphere are nice. -Wheelchair unfriendly. -Vegan friendly. -They have high chairs for kids. -They don't have their own parking space at the moment because they do construction on the public road but you can park 100 meters uphill further. -*** accept only cash*** - no disability toilet/wheelchair accessibility. - they have a smoking area outside the restaurant. - they serve alcohol.

We were a family of four, and soon as we entered we were greeted so warmly. The whole staff was so attentive, kind and caring. The food was very delicious. We had the excellent garlic cream soup, roasted pork and fish. Highly recommend this wonderful, kind and tasty restaurant. We will definitely return on our next visit to the lovely village of Grainau. Thank you Jagerstuberl!

Service was great! Attentive, kind, and felt like they went above and beyond to serve us and make us feel welcome. We came here both nights of our stay in Bavaria because the food and service were the best we had in our two week trip. The schnitzel with an onion breading was the best schnitzel we had on the trip and they had the best spaetzle we had EVER had. Garlic cream soup was so so good, had me wanting to lick the bowl. The Apfelküchle was delicious, got it both nights. Very reasonably priced. This place also has a beautiful view of the Zugspitze.

The seeRestaurant EIBSEE Pavillon offers a fantastic dining experience with its prime location right on the edge of the picturesque Eibsee. Guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding hills while dining indoors or outdoors, where there is a retractable roof for comfort in various weather conditions. The menu features delicious Viennese Fried Chicken and Roasted Chicken breast, served in generous portions. The service is quick and friendly, with options like lactose-free milk and oat milk available for coffee.
A very busy place with minimum waiting time of 20 mins. The service can be slow due to extreme rush but overall friendly people. The food is good. Flammkuchen is simply the best. Also good variety of cakes. The plus is always the spectacular view from the restaurant.
Parnal Patni — Google review
The outlook on the Eibsee is beautiful and staff is friendly enough, we could speak German mind you. Traditional German dishes are a win. We came back a second time for the outrageously-huge cream puffs and that left something to be desired. Overall ok.

Amazing views, food and service. What more can you ask for? Food is incredible, service is excellent as well. Staff kept a smile on the face and was pretty entertaining even though there was strong pressure from the huge crowd at the restaurant. That being said, do visit the restaurant early as it gets crowded, especially in the late afternoon.

We wanted to try the Schweinebraten but too bad it was sold out. That's why I decided to try the fish. It was good but the seosoning was kinda odd. I had two small pieces while one was unseasoned and the other one way too salty. Overall a good restaurant with wonderful view :)

We tried the südTirol ravioli and the fried chicken.I personally liked the fried chicken a lot, but maybe the quantity was too much for me.I tried my best to finish.Ravioli would have been best if there was less oil.Staff there were very friendly and jovial.Ambience is also top notch facing the Eibsee.

The fish was absolutely perfect and incredibly delicious. I ordered the salmon, which was beautifully prepared and accompanied by a serving of rice. The traditional beer was also delightful and exceptionally fresh. The restaurant offers a lovely view. While it can be a bit chilly to sit outside during the winter, the interior is warm and cozy.

The portions were good and the food was delicious. The service was quick and the waiters were friendly. They also serve coffee with lactose free milk and oat milk. Overall, a great place to grab a bite as you enjoy the views of the lake.

Even if I stand there waiting for you for over 10 minutes, you don’t even look at me, right? It was uncomfortable because I felt like I wasn't there because the staff were busy greeting people coming after them, taking orders, and putting away dishes. It's not racism, right?
AR — Google review
Stopped by for a break around 3pm, didn’t have to wait, but the place was relatively filled. The best seats (right beside the lake) were filled so we settled for the ones beside. The service was fast and efficient and the staff were polite and friendly. We only had a few light bites and desserts but it was good. Would recommend for the great view of Lake Eibsee. We parked at the carpark near the roundabout and it was €8 for about an hour!!

Food was decent. There are couple foods that you can have it either on small or large portion. I found it quite helpful since I couldn’t finish the bigger portion. Currywurst was nice as well. View was amazing. I was lucky that day the staff who served us was very friendly and welcoming.

A restaurant with the most magical view. However, the service did not reach the same level. We were a larger group where we spread out on four tables. One of the tables had fantastic service and was happy but the rest of us who sat at another part of the restaurant experienced the exact opposite. I will not go here again. It was an unpleasant atmosphere from the start even though I tried to lighten the mood with positive comments about the fantastic environment. At one of the tables we also had a very hard time getting okay to change tables when we got cigarette smoke from the guests sitting next to us. Everything was cumbersome and the guest's mood was not in focus. We were rather inconvenienced. At another table we had to wait for over half an hour to pay even though we asked for the bill several times (in a friendly way). We were almost missing our train and had to "chase the bill" and get "annoyed" to get the attention. When we asked for the bill from another waiter (also in a friendly way when we were about to miss the train) we got the answer: "you are not the only guests here". Unpleasant attitude. There were empty tables and many waiters. It was a shame, they almost ruin the amazing feeling you got from the environment. I would recommend trying another restaurant in the area! They are not service minded and don’t respect their guests. You don’t feel welcome even if you are kind to them. Wouldn’t it be for the environment they wouldn’t have any guests.

This restaurant is amazing!! Their food is tasty, it tastes like homemade and good portions. The staff is really friendly and the prices are fair for what it is. Edit: We was on vacation for 5 days and we decided to come here for 3 of our dinners... The experience always was GREAT!

Nice Italian restaurant with quick service and delicious food. I’m giving one star less as they started cleaning up the table while some of us were still eating and they didn’t serve our order at once. When the fish and chicken arrived, we were already almost done with our pizza - that shouldn’t happen. But besides that the staff is super friendly and it’s good value for the money.

This is my second time eating here and nothing has deterred me from wanting to eat here a third time. The food is great, this go around I had their pumpkin ravioli which was flavorful. The service is still top notch, I was always treated well and another main reason I will return. The ambience is nice and the restaurant is very clean. I definitely will be back here during my next trip in the area.

Very good food specially Pizza are really good. Very good portions at very fair prices. Service is very friendly but a bit slow specially when it is crowded but I think it definitely worth to try it if one is not in hurry. In this area of Garmisch may be the best Pizzeria.

This will be a very American-centric review. Great pizza! Excellent size and delicious. My 2 critiques are that the peppers were larger chunks and not very evenly distributed through the pizza - i'm used to more diced peppers spread throughout. Also, the crust was a bit thinner that i'm used to - again, based on standards i'm accustomed to. However, the pizza's are an excellent size and value and the ingredients were delicious. We did get delivery and it was very prompt with the pizza arriving hot. Yes, worth going and i would recommend, i would for sure order here again!

Best pizza in town! The staff is very nice and helpful, they accomodated our every need: pick up in 20 minutes, we got a table by just walking in on a very crowded evening and on another day by making a reservation 5minutes before arriving. They had no problem to deviate from the pizza menu as well. It was our to-go place during vacation. Can only recommend!

The service here was high above expectations! We were 25 guests and had pre-booked easily by phone two days before. Many thanks to Alessandro who both accepted our booking and made sure we got off to a great start to our stay in Garmisch. The food was fantastic and we were well taken care of from the first step into the restaurant! They also had an incredible number of dishes to choose from and you can be sure that you will find something you like! If you want good food with the best service, I can highly recommend this restaurant! (I’m sad I forgot to take some better pictures)

Wonderful pizza. Right crust thickness (thin crust) and consistency. Had #20, with pepperoni, mushrooms, and artichoke. Adequate amount of tomato sauce and cheese, absolutely delicious. Got the caprese for appetizer, which was also delicious. Service was top notch for attentiveness and speed (we had it food in about 5 minutes after ordering). Restaurant was clean, throughout, including the bathroom. Overall wonderful experience, highly recommend! 🙂

We've had dinner there for the first time last night. We've arrived right when they opened so we were the second table seated. We were kindly welcomed. The menu is vast and the option are endless. We were worried that with such a big menu, the food may not be up to par. We started with the artichoke appetizer...continued with a pizza, a lemony veal dish with vegetables...and finished with their homemade tiramisu and crema catalana for dessert. Every single dish was delicious. The staff was kind and attentive from the moment we arrived when the restaurant was empty up until we left when it was packed with patrons. Our total was €82 (including a glass of wine and a large sparkling water) and we ate like kings/queens. The food was delivered quickly and worth every cents. Truly a stop worth having when visiting the area. 😊

Great food at a really reasonable price. I had a mixed salad with chicken breast and cocktail sauce. It had a vast array of salad items including, as well as the obvious, grated carrot, sweet corn, olives and a boiled egg. Huge portions. The pizzas are big enough for two.

Located in a rustic old building, the Steakhaus Zur Waffenschmiede is run by attentive and fast-moving staff. The food is of high quality, with generous portions. It's well worth a visit for a steak dinner.
The waiters are very polite and offer great service. The interior of the place is authentic and beautiful. We paid a total of 62.40 euros for the meals in the photo (+Apfelstrudel). Steaks were super delicious❤️Price performance ratio is really good.

What a delight. We were so surprised by the quality of the food here. It is a bit off the beaten path and the decor is downright quirky (but in a wonderful way). We got this recommendation from a local police man while chatting in a park and we are so happy we followed through with eating here. We come from an area of grass fed and finished cows and you can taste the quality here. Also, they happen to be family friendly. My child was the only one there but they were friendly and chatty with her despite the language barrier.

Steakhouse in a former forge with corresponding style and nice decorations. The waiter was very friendly. We reserved a table for 8 pm but even though we were asked for understanding due to a lot of customers, we waited 20 minutes for drinks and Nachos (which were low budget Supermarket Nachos) and one and a half hour for the food. The steaks were okay but nothing special. The wraps were quite good, but still it was rather expensive.

The Hueft steak was not fatty at all, it was chewy and slightly tender, with just a hint of onion and it was very Good. It was very well seasoned. Highly recommend. The French fries that came with it were very good, salty and crispy. The grilled spare ribs were beautifully charred and flavourful. If you sit outside, be warned that there are some flies that might bother you. The water was very flavourful and thirst-quenching. Totally worth it!

So at first glance I don't think I would have ever stopped at this place or even considered it as a place to eat. Much less. Have steak. Though after searching most of the day looking for a place that could accommodate a large group. We found a reservation here. It had fairly Good reviews on their steaks so figured what the heck can't hurt. What I can say is beyond all expectations. It blew me away now. I've had better steaks but these are some of the best I've had in Germany. You know what they say. Don't judge a book by its cover so don't judge this restaurant by its sign for the reports of bad service it was a great place, tons of character being an old blacksmith shop and the waiter was super accommodating and very very friendly. If you're in garmis and you craving some meat, don't miss this place
Erich Pfeiffer — Google review
A wonderful place. I can't stop thinking about it. The food was delicious. I ordered the ribeye, medium with fries on the side, while my company got another ribeye, medium with a sour cream potato and spareribs with bread. We all were more than happy. We felt like we were in a steak haven. It's been the first time I had such a good steak outside of doing the BBQ by myself. Besides the fantastic food, the staff was so welcoming, helpful and understanding. He offered advice and answered all our questions. Also, the ambiance was stunning. It's an old weapon smithy. The staff told us it was used up until the early 20th century and a restaurant for over 30 years. I can just recommend this place. Those words I wrote won't to the deliciousness and feeling justice. If you have the chance, give it a shot. I think you won't regret it!

While this place is a steakhouse, I went with their pork ribs and if their steaks are as good as the ribs I've had, I will be back to have some steak. The flavor of the ribs was excellent and the texture was amazing. They weren't "fall of the bones" texture, but had a great crunch with every bite. I loved each bite I had. The service was great and I never felt like I was out of place here. The atmosphere is also neat which added to the overall experience. Another favorite I will have to visit again.
