(Translated by Google) I went out with my family to see the hydrangea of Sumiyoshi, which has finally begun to bloom. Despite the rain, many onlookers took pictures of flowers and commemorative photos with the camera in one hand. It seems that there will be a mandolin performance tomorrow, but the weather seems to be good and there may be a lot of people. There are many kinds of hydrangea here, and they show different flower faces. The color of the flowers is also exquisite and will delight the eyes of the onlookers. (Translated by Google) I went on a weekend after the rain. Since it was hydrangea season, we were able to park smoothly in the parking lot as we were guided by what appeared to be local traffic. There was also a torii gate in the sea, and it was a very nice view. If you pass through the torii gate and go up the stairs, you will find a shrine where you can draw fortunes. The stairs are irregularly steep and wide, so you should be careful when walking. The upper part is especially slippery due to moss. (Translated by Google) Every year around this time, I go to see the hydrangeas. It was still early this year, but about half of them were in bloom and they were beautiful✨Am I the only one who feels like there are more varieties than last year?I want to go back and see them at least once more this year. 😌There are quite a lot of people on weekends, so I recommend going on weekdays or early in the morning🎵 (Original)

(Translated by Google) I came here when the time was past. This time, mid-June is when the hydrangeas are in full bloom. If you go down a slightly narrow road up to this point, there is a large parking lot 🅿️ that can accommodate 50 to 60 cars. Colorful hydrangeas are blooming on both sides of the road. It's very beautiful. There were a lot of people at the time. There was a surprisingly large clover🍀😆 (Original)

(Translated by Google) I went to Sumiyoshi Natural Park to see hydrangeas 😄 The rainy weather was perfect for hydrangeas 😁 I probably should have come a little earlier 😅 There is a large parking lot in the back, but it was my first time there. I parked in a parking lot with about 5 cars in front 😄 I only went around the bottom and didn't go up the stairs from the torii gate because my knees hurt 😂 A mandolin concert is held every year on the second Sunday in June. The entrance to the natural park is surprisingly narrow, so we couldn't separate from each other, so please be careful 😅😅 (Original)

Nagabeta Seabed Road

Scenic spot
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Nagabeta Seabed Road is a unique undersea pathway that emerges during low tide and disappears beneath the sea during high tide, leaving only the utility poles visible. Constructed in 1974 by local fishermen for cultivating seaweed and shellfish in the Ariake Sea, this enigmatic road has become a popular photography spot in Kumamoto.
An occassion when the sea is without water. I was told that this was a very rare occassion hence i couldnot stop myself from going far inside the sea through seabed road. This road was built by the fisheries association of the area for fishing and growing sea weed.
Gopal Adhikari — Google review
Very picturesque. Mountains in background and the boats in the distance. Works being completed at the moment. When completed should be very nice place.

I took the JR line and walk around 20 minutes to get there. Not easy but worth it, very interesting scenario.
Igor Serikava — Google review
You can view the seabed road from here. I'm not sure but it looked like it's only available for the fishermen. There is a shop next to it which sells stuff from that area. You can also try out samples for free! The ice is also very delicious

Ahmed Raza — Google review
This road is used by fisherman to reach their boat during low tide. It extend very far during low tide. The road cannot be drive onto by the public. You can drive on to other roads next to this one. Check the tidal time before you go over. There are lots of oyster and clam shells along the beach. Parking is free and public toilet is available.

Beautiful beach and Jinbei San is there if you like One Piece. Not easily accessible, have to walk about 20-30 mins from the nearest train station.
chin christina — Google review
You have to time it with the tide obviously, but I went there quite spontaneously so I ended up there at super low tide. It might be better when there is a higher sea level.
Beatrice Thorstensen — Google review
It's was cool and very pretty. The road was barely visible bc the tide was high at 5 pm...so it would have been better to see more of the road. But it's a nice short trip from Kumamoto station by bus. Would have been nicer if we had a car to stop for a little bit, then leave. The buses are irregular, and you sometimes have to wait.
Caitlin Meadors — Google review
I went here to see jinbei statue.. This place is very relaxing. Have a souvenir shop here.. all are delicious..

To walk the Nagabeta Seabed Road you need to come at low tide. I was here once at high and once at low tide and the experience was completely different. The highlight of my trip was being able to buy some freshly dug clams from two Japanese fisher-ladies (you're not allowed to dig for them yourself).
Dan Ong — Google review
It was about a 20mins walk from sumiyoshi station. Be prepared to bring a cap or head cover if you are walking. (During end October so its cooling weather)

(Translated by Google) I come to see the cherry blossoms with my family every year. With the cherry blossoms in full bloom and several stalls opening, you can have a fun time. There are quite a lot of people during the cherry blossom viewing season, and it takes a long time to get into the parking lot before noon, so it's best to choose your time accordingly. After the coronavirus pandemic, there won't be any illuminations at night, so we recommend visiting before 10am.

Okoshiki Coast

Need to come at low tide to see the tidal flats. For the best photo shots, you'll need to choose low tide AND close to sunset to get maximum effect of the undulations in the sand. I arrived at low tide which was at 2pm on 18/4/2023. Still could see the tidal flats but not as spectacular cos the sun was still high. Still was worth the visit.
Dan Ong — Google review
Beautiful but really crowded and not like the photos you will see on Internet
Anthony Tabard — Google review
(Translated by Google) I've been wanting to see the sunset on the Okoshiki coast more than before. I had seen the unique landscape of sand before, but I had never seen it with the setting sun, so I was impressed😆 There are few days when the timing of the spring tide and the sunset overlap, so this day in February is the 41st peak. I recommend going about 30 minutes before sunset. The shrine on the hill is famous for its scenic view of the sunset, so the parking lot was already full, so we parked in the temporary parking lot and walked for about 15 minutes to reach the hill. When I arrived, there were people lined up with cameras. The scenery was really wonderful. I definitely recommend that you go.

When I happened to pass by, the tide was receding and a tidal flat had formed, so I took a photo of it 📸 I was glad to be able to see the beautiful scenery of the tidal flats, which have been known as scenic spots since ancient times 👀 There were many families coming to clam hunt. Maybe you can get clams and freshwater clams🐚🦪 (Original)

(Translated by Google) In 2022, I went there on one of the few days with a spectacular view. Parking is limited, so we recommend using public transportation. However, you need to be careful as the JR Misumi Line, which is a public transportation system, runs quite infrequently. Since it was a day with a spectacular view, there were about 30 photographers waiting, even though we went an hour and a half before sunset. It was a long wait, but it was worth the wait. It was a spectacular view that I had never seen before, and I remember being so moved that my mouth dropped open. It was a great feeling to have seen the best because I had such a hard time coming to this remote area. Although the conditions are difficult, such as the number of days in a year when you can see the sunset and the tidal flats at the same time, and the location is quite complicated, I highly recommend you come and see it at least once!
