The Tsiranavor church in Ashtarak, named after the apricot hue of its stones, was likely constructed in the 5th century under Catholicos Nerses II Bagrevandtsi. Originally a pagan temple converted into an Armenian church in the 4th-6th centuries, it now lies mostly in ruins.
Tsiranavor (meaning apricot hue) church in Ashtarak was probably built in V century by the order of Nerses II Bagrevandtsi Catholicos.

An abandoned church. Looks better on the inside.

The church lies in ruins... You can easily see that it used to be a huge one. It is still impressive. It will be more interesting if renovated! You can have a good view over the river Kasagh and the bridge over it.

In this place there is a really nice bridge and when you get down from the stairs there is a really big river with so many different trees I recommend to watch out there.

Lovely 350 year old bridge across the Kasagh River, now a peaceful picnic area. Highly recommend you check this out. This is a delightful ancient bridge in the pleasant historical part of Ashtarak. Built in 1664 by Mahdesi Khoja Grigor, a wealthy merchant, the bridge has three arches of unequal size. The bridge crosses the Kasagh River. Today, the area underneath and immediately surrounding the bridge is a picnic area. I rode my bike over the bridge on a Sunday and the picnic area was alive with campfires, barbecuing, and festive people. Surprisingly, the area was not strewn with trash. There are a few old buildings at the base of the bridge. I was also surprised to find the bridge can still be driven over and a few cars tried to get across while I was there. They slipped a bit on the ancient rocks, but made it eventually. I'd recommend a high-clearance vehicle to drive across. The bridge is beautiful and it fits the surroundings perfectly. The area along the Kasagh River in Ashtarak is a small oasis in Armenia. I highly recommend you take a weekend afternoon and come see this place, the bridge, and the many small churches along the gorge.

(Translated by Google) Interesting place in Ashtarak. You can just gaze at the bridge, admire the flow of the river, or you can have a small picnic, fortunately there are conditions for this - tables, benches... There are a couple of places to eat nearby (Original) Интересное место в Аштараке. Можно просто поглазеть на мост, полюбоваться течением реки, а можно устроить небольшой пикник, благо для этого есть условия - столы, лавочки... Рядом есть пара заведений, где можно перекусить

Saint Sarkis Monastery is a large monastic complex, 45 by 54 metres (148 by 177 ft) just outside the village of Ushi in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia. It sits at the far side of what was once a settlement site from the 3rd - 1st millennia BC. The monastery is a well known pilgrimage site, and was one of the centers of spiritual education in Armenia. Many fine examples of early Armenian architecture from various periods can be seen around the complex.

The road shown on Google Maps from the south doesn’t exist anymore. Use the one from the east passing Holy Mother of God church. In front there is a small nice picnic area. There are hardly any visitors.

The site is situated near the village Ushi... It's a beautiful place with a small Saint Sargis church. The church adjacent to Saint Sargis, unfortunately, lays in ruins... But the colonnade remaining from it and the ornaments are beautiful...

It's really worth it to visit for half an hour. The place is too old and it makes you get relaxed + You can take a lot of beautiful photos.
