The Ricemill Market (ตลาดโรงสี)

Night market
Heaps of options for food and drink, both; indoors, enclosed and outside, al fresco style. I visited a couple of very comfortable, plus super friendly local Thai bars, both staffed via a positive recruitment policy ... 😉 Plenty of parking, easy to find and oh yes, I will most certainly be back ... 👍

If you’re a tourist, it’s nothing special. Best to go to special restaurants that serves a decent menu: “Amuse Cafe”; “Kalasino Pizza & Pasta”; “N Joy Bar”… ( Western & Thai) The vendor stall food wasn’t that great on a Tuesday night at Ricemill Market.

Used to be a really good place until Covid. It's still closing at 9.0pm so not much use for an evenings entertainment. They need to get their act together by opening until much later & getting the live music back on.

Great priced food and very nice too. Nothing to much for the stall holders to help you. Pork steak, salad and fries 59baht. Kebab sticks 15baht each.

There are a couple of food stands with delicious food if you are hungry and if you pass by. Two thumbs up! 😊

Praya Chai Sunthorn Monument

Mentioned on
Historical landmark
Interesting historical landmark! This is a monument of the first governor of Kalasin who came from Vieng Chan (Laos's capital city) with 500 followers and built a city here. His statue is 1:1 ratio. Plus, you can see the story of the town through its clay wall; one side for the immigration process and the other for people's daily life. It's a pity that there is only Thai explanation here. I wished there is an English version so that foreigners can also understand this city's history.
