The Night Market is a bustling hub of local culture and cuisine, offering a wide array of street food and souvenirs. Visitors can sample everything from fried dishes to fruit drinks while perusing the vibrant stalls and interacting with friendly vendors. The market provides an opportunity to immerse oneself in Burmese street food at affordable prices, although the lack of waste management can lead to cleanliness issues.
A street food lover's paradise. Whether you like fried food, rice & noodle dishes, fruit drinks, sushi, you can eat very well here. Not for the claustrophobic though, this place is packed every evening. You can have an avocado smoothie made while you watch, cross the lake on the concrete boardwalk, make out on the park benches if you're a teenage couple, get cotton candy for your little kids.

Tiny but pretty night market, where you'll find only food stalls. That's a nice way to discover some of the Burmese street food for a really cheap price. On the bad side : due to a lack of bins, the place ends to be very very dirty and filled with plastic bags on the floor at night. Can't imagine how many of those wastes are going to the lake.

This Night Market is called Kan Thar Yar Night Market. Open at 3pm. Nice Lake View. Having fun with many delicious foods. Karen Mohinga, fried pa yit (insect), and Karen traditional meals with rice, are preferable.

The first floor exhibits folk costumes, musical instruments, folk tools, folk beliefs, and more. On the second floor, there are exhibits of Buddhist-related artifacts and Buddhist statues. Overall, there are few explanatory panels, making it difficult to understand the value of the exhibits. At least if there was a panel in Burmese, I could have someone like an interpreter explain it to me. Near the entrance, there is an exhibition of folk costumes from each tribe of the Karen people, but they don't look old, and I was disappointed that there was no explanation of the characteristics or differences between them. Taking photos inside the museum is OK. Whether for lunch or dinner, guests staying nearby frequented this place daily.
Our number one place to eat in Hpa an (and Myanmar so far). Highly recommend on the avocado salad, the juices, the really good coffee, the chicken with cashew, the pancakes (...). We stayed next door and went here for lunch or dinner every day. Sometimes you need to be a little patient for receiving your food, but since they still learn how to provide great service, that's fine.

It's a very quiet and nice place in where you can spend some time to relax and get out of the noise. They have a very good menu selection, with milkshakes, smoothies, yoghurts, coffee, pancakes, toasts, rice, noodles... It's more expensive that normal local places but it's worth it for the place and good quality of the food.

Welcomed by an enthusiastic and friendly host who speaks excellent English, Thai Village Restaurant in Hpa-An offers a cozy atmosphere with each table having its own cabin. The food is both delicious and beautifully presented, with the steamed seafish with soybean being particularly impressive. Cooked on a charcoal platter right in front of you, the taste is truly outstanding.
If you find a delicious restaurant, I recommend you "Thai Village Restaurant ". It is in Hpa-An, Kayin State, Myanmar. You will see bamboo tables and chairs inside and outside the restaurant. You will have your meals within a few minutes. They are fresh, tasty and hot. Besides you don't need to worry about your health, the toilets are clean and big. I'm sure you will satisfy this restaurant.

Well advertised place that guides people directly to it from the main road. The Mexican mascot is a bit of a mystery to me in how he relates to Thai food, but oh well...The place has a large menu, and lots of seating. Service was fine, and the price-to-portion ratio is good. Probably the best place to get food on this side of the river, and is in a good location relative to the bat cave and other caves you'll probably be exploring.

Greeted by enthousiastic and friendly host, speaking good english. Each table has its own little cabin, making for a very cosy atmosphere. The food was delicious, and had a wonderful presentation. I had the steamed seafish with soy bean, and was blown away by the taste. The fish arrived on a charcoal platter, cooking right in front of you. Prices are average: 2000 - - 5000 mmk for main course. But the fish labeled "market price" was quite a bit expensive (13 000 mmk). Then again, it was an entire fish with enough meat for two people.

One of the best meals we had in Hpa-an. Customized stuff for us for being vegetarians. Green curry was bit too watery but the fried rice was great. Food comes quick. Toilet facility is decent. My friends ordered the steamed lemon fish (with sea bass) and it was fantastic. They loved the chicken cashews.

Khit Thit, an eatery located in HPA-An, was visited daily by the writer. The staff demonstrated great friendliness and the cuisine was of remarkable quality. They sampled almost every salad listed on the menu, including recommendations such as seaweed salad, tea leaf salad (untried prior to this visit), and water spinach salad. The possibility of handcrafted French fries delighted them along with their enjoyment of Malaysian-style rice and noodles. This establishment attracted both tourists and locals alike.

We visited this nice restaurant every single day during our stay in HPA-An. The staff is very friendly and the food is very good! We tried nearly every salad on the menu - I would recommend seaweed salad, tea leaf salad (never tried it before), and water spinach salad. I think the French fries were handmade- so so good! We also loved the rice and noodles “Malaysian style”. And yes you will meet some tourists, but local people as well. Thank you and see you tomorrow :).

Good food and decent portions. Cheaper and much better than Lucky-1, even more if you're vegetarian. Place can get busy at night, specially because of takeaway orders from locals, so service can be a bit slow but nothing over the top.

We have not died. Not even a stomachache. A lot of reviews (both here and on TripAdvisor) claim that that same night, people who ate at Khit Thit had stomachache for three days... it was not our case. We even went two times. However it is true that both times we ordered fried noodles and vegetables and fried rice with vegetables (no meat at all)... the menu is in English and staff are very helpful. Depending on the people they have that day they will be veeeery slow or quite fast. Enjoy it!
Paula Vila — Google review
We went here after seeing some good reviews. The food was ok, not very tasty and some meals were very expensive. What shocked me the most was the different prices on the ‘foreign menu’, when we asked for the bill, the staff had to take the English menuto check the prices of our meal on that menu, since foreigners obviously pay more than locals. We do not mind paying more, but wedo mind paying more for a minimalistic meal, just because we are foreigners. Not recommended...

The Mya Kan Thar Food Centre in Myanmar offers an excellent dining experience. The restaurant's garden creates a charming atmosphere, while the owner is fluent in English. The menu, available in English as well, offers delicious options such as tea leaf salad, tomato salad, and fried wontons. For dessert, the Faluda is highly recommended—an enjoyable combination of fruit and ice cream. Other popular dishes include papaya salad, chicken wonton, and fried rice.
We tried the papaya salad, chicken wonton and fried rice. I recommend all of them and I'm pretty sure the rest of the menu is just as good! It's a very nice place to sit, especially the garden area with its comfortable bamboo chairs. The staff is really nice as well!

Very nice ambience and cute place. Close to the street, but the noise is not bad and the restaurant is hidden in thick greenery. The menu is rich and in good English, the staff was very polite and spoke good English. The juices are good - real deal with fresh fruit and not too sweet. We ordered Tom Yum seafood soup which was very good and Tom Yum fried rice which was good in taste but maybe not too big if you’re too hungry.
